My Thai Tea Milk Tea (next to the original).
    Jenny C.

Half & Half is open on New Years. This location is word...the back entrance still boarded with wood and had never replaced with glass door. If you're extra thirsty, then this is the place for you. The standard is big but Half& Half is known on the Big Cup--it's huge and totally worth it. The real danger (in the best way) is the upgrades. There's no shrinkflation here! The drink selection is huge, too. Once you start adding toppings, foam, extra shots, or sweetness tweaks, it turns into a full-on custom drink experience. If you want small bites they offer them here - instant noodles, fried chicken nuggets and pancakes. :) We got the strawberry milk tea (ehhh), the Thai iced tea (yummy) and my personal favorite Herbal Green Tea with grass-jelly! Each store location has their quirky "old school decors". This location has a Japanese toy vending machines. Cute!

Overall: Always a solid boba spot for me! I go for the almond milk tea with vanilla latte and boba. It was nice because they also do a free upgrade during the week! Service: Quick and efficient. Drinks came out in a timely manner! Ambiance: Small, I do wish they had some more seating options but it's meant to be more of a grab and go spot.

Came to this spot on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. It's bigger than I thought inside with a few seats. We got the milk tea with boba and it was super good and high quality. They have a lot of different drinks on their menu. I'm excited to comeback to try more of their drinks.

Ordering in person was also a long wait for about 40 minutes. Mines was definitely worse since I ordered on the phone ahead of time (15 minutes to get to the store), i still have to wait 40 minutes after arrival. My total wait time from order to actually receiving the order is 60 minutes. Drink was extremely delicious but not the wait. And the disorganization. From the very beginning I waited in the store I told them to put two orders together and gave them the two numbers. They put the order next to each other and by the time the number is "ready for pick-up" on the screen, we went to ask them and my drink still wasn't ready. They can't even find my ticket and had to asked me to wait another 5 minutes. After waiting for 5 more minutes, it was shift change and it was someone else calling out the number and I have to ask them again because my drink is now just sitting there on the counter. WORSE SERVICE! I rather drive to Irvine location for this tea. Never again City of Industry. Order #11095 and #35858

Chang an fresh lychee oolong milk tea - this is a new drink that has bits of lychee and jelly in it. There is a slight floral osmanthus taste that makes this drink really refreshing on a hot day. They are very stingy on the jelly though. I only got a few pieces. Ordered this in 30% sugar and less ice and it was pretty sweet. Tasted like 70% sweet. Osmanthus oolong milk tea - if you like drinking perfume this is for you. It's not my cup of tea. The osmanthus is very strong. Dancong oolong milk tea and rock oolong milk tea - I'm bunching these together because honestly I don't know whats the difference between the two. One tastes slightly stronger than the other but I can't remember which is which. In terms of sugar levels, I've mostly gotten 70% for all drinks due to it being the recommended level, but it is usually a bit too sweet for my liking. I've tried getting a lesser sugar level, but the drink ended tasting extremely watered down.

Since the Big Lots has perished, there is PLENTY of parking (hence the car meet that was happening as well). Interior is pretty clean and modern looking. Great place to work on something or to catch up with your friends. You can either order from the kiosk or if you want one of their Kream Kubes it's best to do so in person at their cashier. They do sell out since I believe there's a limited number of them. There are also other baked pastries and sweet treats available too like mini croissants or banana pudding. Very friendly and welcoming service too. For my visit, I got the: 1) Milk Kream Kube: -I wanted to get something basic since it'd be my first time trying a cube shaped pastry that wasn't a huge hulking brick toast and this is honestly a great and perfectly sized sweet baked good to share with someone else as a snack, or perfectly sized if you want to get full with one swoop. -Flaky crisp exterior resembling that of a croissant but not soggy nor dry in the slightest. It's also bready as well. Reminds me of the Asian style breads or the "hotel bread" that they have in Japan on the interior. Went perfectly well with the generous amount of not too sweet milk cream inside. Make sure to have napkins ready! 2) Peach Grapefruit Slush: -Refreshing and sweet taste of peach with the slightly tart and slightly bitter after taste of what I feel like grapefruit tastes like. Perfect for a warm and muggy evening. Overall pretty good cafe for a sweet treat and a drink. Would love to come back and try more kubes.

But it was indeed mango. But a fake mango flavor. The mango flavor was there, but could not taste the matcha. It wasn't bad, but I had better mango matchas elsewhere. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Not bad, but not great. Staff could smile more than just stare at you. Even say "Hello" or "Welcome" when you walk in the coffee shop. LOCATION Located in a small strip mall at Golden Springs Plaza. Parking is medium-sized for the amount of businesses here. I had no issues finding parking in front of the coffee shop, although more and more parking spots were being taken. AMBIANCE + SEATS The ambiance was relaxing. No loud music. Lots of people coming in and working on their laptops. Five small tables for two in the center. Along the wall there were bar seats for 19-20 people. There's a long communal table in the center for seats for 4-5 people. At the front and to the side, there were 3 tables for two. Outdoor tables for two right outside the cafe. Bathroom is outside of the cafe and you have to enter the other part of the building with a bathroom code to unlock. Will I visit again? Maybe if I'm in the area. But I'm in no rush to come back.

Unfortunately, the coffee shop itself was a letdown. When I first saw the menu, I already had a bad feeling, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I ordered a matcha, and it was absolutely terrible. It didn't look like matcha, didn't taste like matcha, and I genuinely don't understand why they sell it at all. If you're going to offer matcha, at least make it resemble what it's supposed to be. We bought three drinks total, and not a single one was finished. That alone says a lot. The prices weren't outrageous, but even then, the drinks just weren't worth it. It's disappointing because the plaza has potential--the bakery and photo place nearby are solid--but this coffee shop seriously brings it down. They currently have a special for a 0.99 cent drink if you download their app and order online, along with 4 additional coupons for 30% off (which I should've checked before I added a second drink to my order at regular price). There were so many options to choose from and they all looked so good! They have fruit teas and frappes too! I decided on the Coco Cotti (recommended by the employee) and the Cloud Mousse Blue Coco Latte (both hot). The Blue Coco Latte was delicious and tasty, I really liked the mousse foam on top. The employee said the blue color of the latte comes from the sugar they use. Unfortunately the Coco Cotti was disappointing. All I could taste was a faint hint of the coconut milk, barely any coffee flavor. I already suspected that the drink would be milked down when I opened the lid and saw how pale the drink was. I went home and pulled a shot of espresso and added it to my cup and luckily that improved the drink. The next time I stop by I'll be trying the Toffee Hazelnut series - that looks good!
