    Halligan's Irish Fries
    Kristin C.

Came here this evening for a cup of coffee and something small to share with my husband. These had to be the best Irish fries I've had yet. The white cheddar cheese sauce was great. I prefer that over just baking fries in the oven with shredded white cheddar. The fries were also perfectly crunchy. Very filling and we had to bring some home. The French onion soup was perfect. Lots of cheese and the broth was very flavorful. Our server was nice and took care of us. The inside of this place was very spacious. Love the granite countertops and the atmosphere. We'll be back.

    Shepherd's Pie ..... Excellent!!!

Had the Shepherd's Pie, it was delicious!! So flavorful - just the right amount of spices...My favorite combo of meat and potatoes..They were very friendly, courteous and helpful...Definitely stopping here again when I am back in PA!

Poor customer service notice!!! Halligan's Pub My teenage daughter was home alone and wanted to order a plain grilled chicken sandwich. She ordered from Halligan's on Grubhub. Searching through the site she could not find the sandwich in the menu but has ordered it before in person. So she ordered the closest thing she could find, the Cajun chicken sandwich. She put it clearly in the comments she wanted a plain chicken sandwich with no seasoning since one could not be found on line. (see note in screenshot) When it arrived it was seasoned. It was very spicy and she could not eat it. When I called to complain, I was told it is under burgers on the menu online and they were very argumentative with me. I still can not find it on the Grub Hub menu. When I asked if I could get a grilled chicken sandwich to replace this one, I was told it would be 10 dollars and some change. I asked if they were still going to charge us over this mistake, they said I would have to pay for the new sandwich. I hung up. I am now on my way to Jerzee's Sports Bar and Pizzaria to get a sandwich. I highly recommend them instead for quick and customer focused service (and note that we have been longtime Halligan's customers). Poor customer service notice!!! CORNED BEEF? Or maybe ham? Definitely not corned beef!
    Karen P.

It's St. Paddy's Day and I couldn't wait to eat Corned Beef & Cabbage. I ordered 3 dinners for takeout. Not cheap $51.00. Got home and the meat was literally lunch meat!!!! I'm not even sure it was corned beef, tasted more like ham. Don't go here if you want authentic corned beef and cabbage, go somewhere else!

    Miko eating the burger

The two "Hostesses" gave a new meaning which is just the opposite. I'm in town in business and just happened upon this place. There are apparently two entrances to the building so myself and a coworker came in the back. I made eye contact with the Hostesses and neither made an effort to say Hi, ask a question, bring a Menu, NOTHING except to stare at me as if I didn't belong there. Finally the Bartender greeted us with Menu's and a kind word. I just got in town last night so today I planned on having my first Cheese Steak. The "Pounder Cheese Steak did not disappoint. It was rich with the Cheese they used and the grilled onions gave it just enough texture with the Bread. Exceptional! Onion Rings were good and tasted freshly cut. The Sauce served with the onion Rings made a great dipping sauce for the occasional bite of the Cheese Steak. Not sure I'll be back, at least not in this trip. We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Rating: 3.5

I've never been disappointed with my food here, and you like pub fare you're sure to find something on the menu that will hit the spot. The brisket grilled cheese was phenomenal (though more meat than cheese) and their roast pork rivals anything you'll find in the city. They have a wide variety of options on tap too. Worth checking out.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.
