We came in here on a week night. Our server was very attentive and kind. The food came out faster than I expected. The kimchi pancake was better than I expected. I saw a lot of good reviews for it and needed to try it for myself. I would definitely order it again and maybe even try the other flavor, seafood. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap with chicken. I know that beef is traditionally the protein on top. But I loved that they gave chicken as an option. It was delicious. The hot stone dish did its job and made the rice a little crispy. Overall, this was a very good dish. I have had this dish many times and at many different places - this one ranks up there with some of the best. The variety of banchan that came with it made the meal even better. Everything was fresh and flavorful. For dessert, I had to try the fish shaped ice cream with red bean paste. It was definitely something I would eat again. The outside of dessert tasted like an ice cream cone. Inside tasted like a jam with vanilla ice cream. Just what I needed for such a hot day. Food: 10/10 Vibe: 10/10 But that's beside the point. I went with my parents who both are from Asia. They've been to many Korean restaurants, so when my mom ordered short rib soup, she was used to it coming with a certain sauce. She asked the server if they had it and they replied "No, but let me ask". They proceeded to return with a small bowl of a custom made sauce just as my mother asked. This is beyond rare service, especially in the states. Service: 12/10? 50/10? I don't know, but so many things about this place absolutely just blew me away. read more

Delicious! Will order again! Walked in and ordered food to-go on Thursday night. Ready in 15 minutes. Ordered fried Gyoza (beef or chicken option). I did not eat these but my daughter loved them. The Dduk Guk (rice cake soup in bone broth) with Kimchi Mandoo (can get kimchi or beef dumpling) - was so comforting like a hug in a bowl. The dumplings were huge (2 in the order), and I liked how the spices in the dumpling mixed into the bone broth when you broke open the dumpling. There were also thinly sliced fried egg strips and green onion. I'm sensitive to too much salt and it was perfectly seasoned with salt and a little black pepper. The sampling of sides were a perfect addition. I can't wait to order again! read more

I love Korean food, so I was excited to learn that Haludam was opening. I have dined in a couple of times since they opened and everything I've had is really delicious. I like that they have dishes that you don't often see elsewhere, like one of my favorites--dduk mandoo soup! This is traditionally eaten on New Year, so I was excited to get some on New Year's Eve. The soup is made with a clear beef broth, chewy rice cakes (dduk), and dumplings (you can choose pork or kimchi). The portion is generous and I've had leftovers both times I've ordered it. The broth is savory and warming, and the dumplings and rice cakes are tender and chewy. It's such a great winter weather dish. I've also tried their seafood pancake, spicy pork, gimmari (deep fried seaweed rolls), kalbi, and kimchi jjigae. The banchan (side dishes that come with entrees) are varied and tasty (I particularly love the japchae, a noodle dish with veggies). Service has been great both times I've dined in and I'm really looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more

I loved Haludam! The food was amazing and their kimchi was to die for! I ended up getting their 16oz kimchi to take home. The service was quick. The ice cream sandwich was also surprisingly good given that they explained it as a "red bean and ice cream-filled fish-shaped waffle" lol. Great experience overall and we will be back!! read more

My husband and I had a great time here. Seated quickly without a reservation. The menu was straightforward (note, they have it listed on the menu and by the tables but there is a 3% surcharge for using a card, so factor that with the prices). We got a Korean pancake (which my husband said reminded him of his childhood) and both got hot bowl bibimbop. I'm such a baby with spice and told them to just give the spicy stuff to my husband. Typically, when I've done this other places, I just get less. Here, she offered an alternative (such as soy sauce instead of gochujang ) which was exceptionally kind and nice. We went to try out the soft opening of Haludam and were really impressed! I didn't expect much from the exterior, but the interior is absolutely stunning. The staff was incredibly kind and prompt without being overbearing. They had great recommendations and told us about how busy they've been during the soft open. The food itself was incredible. We got the spicy tofu stew with seafood and seolleongtang. Both were really good sized portions with great banchan. The tofu soup was really well flavored and was loaded with seafood and tofu. The seolleongtang had a really clean and refreshing broth that went well with the kimchi. Overall we really loved our experience and can't wait to come back after they officially open! read more

Grand Rapids finally has a traditional Korean food restaurant that's an actual sit down restaurant! It's nice that it just focuses on traditional Korean food and doesn't try and cover BBQ/fried chicken/etc. Many delicious options to choose from and we loved the bulgogi, dolsot bibimbap and the tofu stew. Banchan (the little Korean side dishes) came out with the meal and were delicious. Tofu stew is my favorite traditional Korean dish and while I wish they had more flavors besides seafood or the kimchi with the pork (prefer non kimchi) - this will do and still tastes great. Inside is clean and spacious. Very family friendly - They have high chairs, booster seats and women's bathroom has a changing table. Kids water cups too! Servers were very kind and helpful. While this isn't California/Atlanta, this is the best Grand Rapids has to offer for traditional Korean food and we will definitely be back. read more

I'm very excited that there's another korean restaurant in town! I stopped by with a friend for the last day of their soft opening and it was packed! (rightfully so) The ambiance is great and honestly with all of the restaurant seating taken up, it was not loud at all. The workers and owners were very kind and very attentive. Additionally the food came out very quick, considering that they mentioned they have been struggling with keeping up with getting orders out. I myself ordered the hot stone bibimbap, some of the menu options were out of stock from the previous soft opening days. The food was great and came with 3 different side dishes. The only thing that docked some points for me was the portion size that came out, the hot stone bibimbap(beef) was $19 and honestly there was not much beef along side the small portion in my opinion. The food, service, and ambiance were all perfect for my family and I. The food was delicious and the portions were good. The service was very friendly and personable. The place was busy but not loud. I ordered the yuk gae jang and it wasn't too spicy. The sides were incredibly fresh and good. My family loved all the food they ordered which included the soondubu, stir fried spicy squid, stir fried spicy pork, the galbi, and seafood pancake. The galbi is more expensive but you get so much meat so it honestly is worth it. read more
