The service was incredibly kind and we could tell that each dish was made to order with care. The samaki came with two sides and it was completely shareable which made it very affordable too. We were really happy we got the wet fry option because The curry that it came with was amazing. We were so happy with all the rich and colorful flavors. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. and didn't receive our food until after 10:00 p.m. Keep in mind the restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m., so we even watched them lock the doors while we were still waiting. There was only one other table of four people dining, and it appeared they had also been waiting a long time for their food. When we finally realized we needed to get home to relieve our babysitter, we asked our server to pack our meals to go. Instead of apologizing for the two-hour wait, he told us we "should have come earlier." We reminded him that we had arrived two hours before and had no reason to expect such a long delay. He showed no empathy or accountability. We still tried to stay positive, hoping the food would at least live up to the hype. They serve them in a roll version vs. what you typically see in a restaurant with different dollops of food on the spongy bread. Generous spread of sauce and veggies fill the bread, rolled up, and ready to eat. It was perfect and delicious too! We also bought a baklava without nuts. When we were there, only one person seems to be working, but it was in the middle of the afternoon when it wasn't too busy. She prepped our food and was our cashier too. She was a very kind and sweet lady, and was extra appreciative that we drove half an hour to buy from them. This Food Hall strive to support refugees and immigrants by offering kitchens and retail spaces for them to start a small business. Currently, 8 businesses are sharing time and use of the facilities, 3 days each per week with Mondays closed. Check the Spice Bridge website for details.
