Not like this place needs more reviews but here we go. Ham N Scram in HB is a hole in the wall. It is located at the end of the a small shopping center. There is limited parking but you can park on the street if needed. The inside is tiny. There are no chairs. I saw one bar height table outside. Essentially its all "to go" The staff are friendly to the constant stream of people coming through here. It is breakfast and lunch all day (until 2PM when they close). I have had the muffin. It was small but good for me. Had egg, ham, bacon, and cheese on an English muffin. Salsa on the side. Well done and hits the spot every time. Love this place so much. No matter what time I come here, whether when they had just opened (which is like 5AM) or when they're closing down for the day, the owners had always been so friendly and kind to me. These are the mom and pop places I'd love people to support. Their food and the care they put in their products are just unmatched. Never have I gotten my order incorrectly, that shows a lot of care from the kitchen and I really appreciate it. The star of the show is no doubt the breakfast burritos. They are jam packed with the most flavorful meat cuts and the salsa is just to die for; do yourself a favor and get an extra salsa or 10! Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations but the original breakfast burrito still tasted very good. It's in the corner of a small strip mall next to a residential cul de sac. They share a small parking lot with a nail salon. I saw some people waiting or parking their car on the street. The inside does not have any seating or restrooms for customers. The register is so close to the entrance, so it makes for quick pick-ups. The original breakfast burrito was a decent size for only $9. It had hash browns that could have been more crispy, cubes of ham, egg, and plenty of cheese. I saw hints of diced onion and green pepper. The salsa that comes with it is spicy and subtly smoky. I think cholula makes it taste better. I think the original breakfast burrito could have used a tad more salt, but otherwise I loved it. The tortilla was nice and crisp where it should have been. For $1.50 more, the double meat burrito was like 1.5 times larger than the original. It definitely had more meat and was saltier. There was an older man and older woman taking orders at the register. They were ever so friendly!! They seemed like morning people, making sure their customers liked the food and orders were served correctly. I have been scouring OC for a decent breakfast burrito, and Ham n Scram definitely hit the spot. This mom and pop shop is super friendly and affordable. We couldn't believe that their iced coffee was only $3 and came in a ginormous cup! We ordered two regular breakfast burritos, and it was enough to keep us full for breakfast with leftovers for lunch. The one thing we loved about the burrito was how proportionate the ratio of ingredients were. Sometimes breakfast burritos have too much potato or egg, but the burritos here are perfectly balanced between the meat, egg, cheese, and potatoes. Each component is necessary to the delicious experience of the burrito. My only critique is that the complementary salsa is just ok. I wish it had more of a kick! Let me save your time, yes go here! The location is in a very small plaza. However the place itself is very big. They have a lot of cute items around the store with things like merch and pictures. What I really noticed was the wall with their employees, it's a small crew, but some of them have been there for years! So I was second in line, however there were plenty of calls before and after me. Makes sense with how great it was. I waited about 10-15 minutes for my food. What I loved was how open their kitchen was, I was able to see the team chop up the meat and assemble the burritos. I am always searching for a great, decently priced breakfast burrito. After reading multiple potential businesses to try, I settled on Ham 'n Scram on a recent Monday morning. Ham 'n Scram is located in a small strip mall on one end. Parking is pretty limited in the small lot but there is some parking on an adjacent residential street. When I approached the business around 1025 hours, there several patrons standing outside. I inquired with them and they all indicated they were waiting for their orders. I took this as corroborating evidence that backed up all the great Yelp reviews that this place was cranking out some decent breakfast burritos. I walked in and there were two other individuals placing or waiting to place their orders. All were being warmly greeted by someone I believe is named "Gladys". Her warmth and hospitality was genuine in nature and I found that heartwarming in this day and age. When it was my turn to order, I warned her that I was a newbie here. In a very friendly and patient manner, she explained their menu and directed my attention to photos of the different menu items. Since I had researched their menu before I arrived, I knew what I wanted: two original breakfast burritos ($9.00 each), one without ham, and two double meat breakfast burritos ($10.50 each). Without having to ask, Gladys inquired if I would like extra bacon in the one burrito that was going to be ham less. I really appreciated that the bacon replacement was offered with no additional up charge. After placing my order, I was offered a sample of their three bean soup, which I found quite tasty. Tasty enough that I ordered a quart ($9.00) to go as well. I envisioned enjoying this soup on a cold rainy day with a nice crisp white wine and crusty bread, though it was still really good on a hot summer morning. Pre-tip total was $48.00. My wait time was approximately thirty (30) minutes. I observed Gladys advise the kitchen several times that there were several of us waiting for our orders. I finally received my order and drove home so my family could try the burritos and soup. The first thing I noticed about all of the burritos was the size and weight of each. All were almost seven (7) inches in length. With the exception of the Original burrito with out any ham, the three other burritos, weighed almost all the same within an ounce of each other as the photos will demonstrate. I am slightly disappointed that for the price for the "Double Meat", there was barely any discernible difference from the "Original". Despite this, the burritos were delicious and solidly filled. That ham everyone is raving about? Yeah, that is some really good tasting ham that was not overly salty or had that mass produced, factory processed taste to it, some of the best I have ever tasted with the exception of prosciutto etc. I wonder if they would consider selling that ham by the pound? I would definitely buy that as well as the ham bones they sell. Included with the burritos were several small sample sized containers of their salsa. I enjoy spicy foods. I really liked that salsa. It was tasty, and hot enough to let me know there is is a decent heat level without numbing your taste buds to the point that one no longer can taste what they are eating. It really complemented the burrito well. In summation, despite the lack of any noticeable differences between the Original and Double Meat breakfast burritos for the pricing, the quality of the food, and the genuine friendliness of the staff, has embedded this business as one of our family's new favorites for breakfast burritos and soup. read more
