came back to try stonefire grill again after having it years ago. it was pretty busy on a saturday evening, but we didn't have to wait to order or have any trouble finding a table. it's a pretty casual establishment with plenty of tables and seats. our cashier was very nice and helpful, but once you're seated it is tricky to get assistance for other stuff; but we just went up to the front whenever we needed something. as for the food: -tri tip (bbq) & 1/4 grilled chicken (lemon garlic) personal meal with cornbread casserole: 8/10 everything was cooked and seasoned nicely, but the portions are quite small for what you're paying for. the breadsticks are very similar to olive garden's and just mediocre. the cornbread casserole was quite moist and had a good sweetness to it! -7" nashville hot chicken pizza with carrot cake and caesar salad: 8/10 the pizza had good flavors with the buffalo and hot honey but it is a very oily pizza! the carrot cake was moist and just a tad too sweet for my taste but still good regardless. the caesar salad was really good with the sauce it came with but the sauce is very garlic prominent! -tomesto personal sized pasta: 7/10 the pesto pasta was very yummy and you can't really go wrong/mess up a pesto pasta but the tomato pasta on the other hand was very one note and bland for my taste. pasta was cooked nicely to al dente though read more

My husband and I used to love Stonefire Grill years ago when we visited their Northridge location, especially the ribs, salads, and tri-tip. So when we saw the Fountain Valley location, we stopped in for old times' sake. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We ordered a full rack of ribs, Caesar salad, and breadsticks. The ribs were dry and overly seasoned, and the sauce tasted more like ketchup than barbecue sauce. The Caesar salad was just okay. The breadsticks tasted frozen and quickly reheated, with a processed texture. They were also out of beer. And at 7 PM there were only five tables with customers The only positives were prompt service, quick food, and surprisingly great carbonation in the Diet Coke. The meal was around $60, which is affordable, but I'd rather pay more for better quality. I'm not sure if this is just a location issue or if the company has changed, but based on this visit, we won't be back. read more

Came on a Saturday for lunch, and they weren't crowded at all! Plenty of parking in the shared lot. The main entrance is actually at the back of the restaurant, and it's one way in, and one way out the side door. You order at the counter, and they'll either provide you with a pager or a number to place on your table. They have both booth, raised both, and table seating available. Utensils, napkins, and water are self-serve. When your food is ready, someone will bring your food out to you. I like getting their Personal Meals because they're filling and seem pretty balanced overall! I usually get the salmon with lemon garlic. You can also get it with a sesame glaze. The salmon was a little dry this time, but I did appreciate the chunks of garlic. Each Personal Meal comes with two breadsticks and your choice of a garden/Caesar salad or side. I like getting their Caesar salad! I also tried some of the Tri Tip and 1/4 Grilled Chicken Personal Meal. The Tri Tip comes with BBQ or pepper garlic with gorgonzola butter, and the chicken comes with BBQ or lemon garlic. I think the Tri Tip goes well with the BBQ sauce. You can also get more BBQ sauce from the self-serve pump if you want extra. The chicken with lemon garlic was pretty tasty as well. Prices are a little on the higher end, but I think it's worth it for the quality and offerings! read more

Full disclosure, this is about my fourth time at this place and I really thought I had left a Yelp review before but I guess I didn't. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know what a fan of barbecue I am. Not just any barbecue it has to be good. Barbecue. And let me tell you something. Stonefire grill definitely has good barbecue. The building is nice and modern, very clean. Interior, staff is very helpful and very friendly. Willing to make suggestions and alterations to your order. Any good barbecue restaurant has to have knock me down tri-tip, and stonefire grill delivers. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly, and let me tell you.... That garlic herb butter.. to die for! The pulled pork was really good, albeit a tiny bit dry, but once you slather some barbecue sauce on that, it's well worth the cost of admission. I had the $13.99 meal, which included one meat, one side... I ordered the Caesar salad which is absolutely amazing, and it even comes with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. Pretty damn good meal for $13.99. The bottom line? If you are looking for some really good barbecue and you happen to be in the area, I highly suggest you try stonefire grill. It's not that I dislike Stonefire Grill; it's just never in my rotation of food joints to get a meal. There are better places for ribs, the best item here. There are better places for pasta and pizza. There are better places for tri-tip and brisket. There are even better places for sides, which are also quite good here. Granted, you can't them all under one roof very easily like you can here, but even that isn't a good enough reason to give it consideration. The location is fine and the workers are nice enough. But I didn't witness anything that blew my socks off. The best thing you can say is that Stonefire is a great place for gatherings and you're not going to hate your time there. read more

I showed up at Stonefire Grill (at 3:49p) and waited in line for 22 minutes without moving. There were nine people ahead of me and not one of them completed an order during that entire time. No one on staff communicated what was going on or why the line was stalled. There were another nine people behind me dealing with the same thing. The last time I came here, the food was good, but even then there were angry customers who never received their orders. It feels like there is a pattern of issues that management needs to address. Until they fix the wait times and communication, it is hard to recommend this location. read more

The order at the counter and seat yourself style establishment is great for families and groups of all size. Self serve Coke Cola fountain and a few teas are available. If you want something stronger, they have a small selection of can bears/IPAs. The four for $44 gives you protien, salad, 12 inch pizza and a side. The equally good value, the stimilus deal packs a feast with protien, salad, pizza or pasta and breadsticks for about $43.00 The tri-tip and BBQ chicken pizza were delicious. Instead of helping her coworker or even checking the status of my order, she chose to ignore the situation entirely. No urgency, no apology, no effort. Just terrible customer service. Not too busy when we got there, but it did get busier as we were leaving around 6:45 pm. Lots of options on the menu. You order your food before seating down, then they'll bring out to you (It was new to me, but cool). We order "The Feast" (For 6 people). The front host/cashier was super nice, patient with us, and very helpful. Her name was Marta. Super kind lady. The food showed up very quick. No complaints. Plenty of food. The Caesar salad had a kick to it lol, but I still enjoyed it. The rest of the food was amazing, great flavor, the rib was tender, the lemon and the bbq chicken were tasty, the pesto pasta for delicious and fresh, and the mashed potatoes were great. I got the seasonal strawberry salad and added chicken. My husband got the barbecue chicken salad. Food is mediocre at best and the salad dressing falls flat- no flavor. The chicken that I got with my salad seemed to be parboiled and boring. My biggest issue is when you go up to a counter and you order and if you get handed a cup to go get your own drink it is a given a tip should NOT be expected, but yet when you check out tipping starts at 20%?
