Full disclosure, this is about my fourth time at this place and I really thought I had left a Yelp review before but I guess I didn't. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know what a fan of barbecue I am. Not just any barbecue it has to be good. Barbecue. And let me tell you something. Stonefire grill definitely has good barbecue. The building is nice and modern, very clean. Interior, staff is very helpful and very friendly. Willing to make suggestions and alterations to your order. Any good barbecue restaurant has to have knock me down tri-tip, and stonefire grill delivers. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly, and let me tell you.... That garlic herb butter.. to die for! The pulled pork was really good, albeit a tiny bit dry, but once you slather some barbecue sauce on that, it's well worth the cost of admission. I had the $13.99 meal, which included one meat, one side... I ordered the Caesar salad which is absolutely amazing, and it even comes with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. Pretty damn good meal for $13.99. The bottom line? If you are looking for some really good barbecue and you happen to be in the area, I highly suggest you try stonefire grill. I recently hosted a large graduation party here at this Stonefire Grill in Fountain Valley (our fam fav location) and had an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious with a great variety of options that pleased everyone in our group. A huge thank you to Charlie and Axel for taking such wonderful care of us. Food was fantastic. The tritip 6 oz was perfect for me. The 10 oz tri tip was too much for my friend but it was fantastic. The tossed garden salad was really good and the Caesar side salad was spot on. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is non existent. It's not that I dislike Stonefire Grill; it's just never in my rotation of food joints to get a meal. There are better places for ribs, the best item here. There are better places for pasta and pizza. There are better places for tri-tip and brisket. There are even better places for sides, which are also quite good here. Granted, you can't them all under one roof very easily like you can here, but even that isn't a good enough reason to give it consideration. The location is fine and the workers are nice enough. But I didn't witness anything that blew my socks off. The best thing you can say is that Stonefire is a great place for gatherings and you're not going to hate your time there. read more

I showed up at Stonefire Grill (at 3:49p) and waited in line for 22 minutes without moving. There were nine people ahead of me and not one of them completed an order during that entire time. No one on staff communicated what was going on or why the line was stalled. There were another nine people behind me dealing with the same thing. The last time I came here, the food was good, but even then there were angry customers who never received their orders. It feels like there is a pattern of issues that management needs to address. Until they fix the wait times and communication, it is hard to recommend this location. read more

The order at the counter and seat yourself style establishment is great for families and groups of all size. Self serve Coke Cola fountain and a few teas are available. If you want something stronger, they have a small selection of can bears/IPAs. The four for $44 gives you protien, salad, 12 inch pizza and a side. The equally good value, the stimilus deal packs a feast with protien, salad, pizza or pasta and breadsticks for about $43.00 The tri-tip and BBQ chicken pizza were delicious. I had one of the worst to-go experiences here. I placed my order and waited 25 minutes past the quoted time with zero communication. When I politely asked the woman at the counter if she could check on my food, she literally stood there doing nothing and told me "the other guy will help you." The problem? He was clearly overwhelmed--taking orders, handling gift cards, and juggling multiple customers. Instead of helping her coworker or even checking the status of my order, she chose to ignore the situation entirely. No urgency, no apology, no effort. Just terrible customer service. If you're going to offer to-go orders, at least respect people's time and communicate delays. Standing around while customers wait and get frustrated is unacceptable. read more

I had the $13 "meal deal" and it's a great deal! I had the rigatoni with meat sauce and it had a great amount of meat! The salad was a great size and it came with a breadstick. We always ask for the breadsticks to be "lightly baked" and they are almost always overdone. THIS time, Charlie made sure they were baked perfectly! Hate the ordering system but is nice if you plan to go with a group. So you don't have to worry about splitting checks. Downside, they aren't the best at getting your order, right. In my group, they messed up two orders, and my order wasn't even completed. Great place for casual dining low expectations for service. My family had such a great lunch for the 5th time as we go to Stonefire Grill every year for my mom's and brother's birthday!! The manager, Charlie, kept checking in on us on the warm and comfortable fireplace patio to make sure we had everything we needed!! He was really nice. Everything was delicious in our Stimulus package EXCEPT today's tri-tip was TOO TOUGH TO EAT!! (See photo) The tiny bits in the upgraded BBQ salad was fine, but unfortunately the slices we got were not... The salad was tasty and fresh, the breadsticks were nice and garlicky and the pizza was fine, which we opted to save for tomorrow, so we ended up eating salad and breadsticks for dinner for a little over $50 out the door. REALLY DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED with the tri-tip, which was actually from two distinctly different pieces cuz I chose half and half for the flavors. BOTH were inedible. First time at Stonefire Grill. Very pleasant experience overall! We were a party of four, on a Saturday around 5 pm. Plenty of parking. Clean location. Not too busy when we got there, but it did get busier as we were leaving around 6:45 pm. Lots of options on the menu. You order your food before seating down, then they'll bring out to you (It was new to me, but cool). We order "The Feast" (For 6 people). The front host/cashier was super nice, patient with us, and very helpful. Her name was Marta. Super kind lady. The food showed up very quick. No complaints. Plenty of food. The Caesar salad had a kick to it lol, but I still enjoyed it. The rest of the food was amazing, great flavor, the rib was tender, the lemon and the bbq chicken were tasty, the pesto pasta for delicious and fresh, and the mashed potatoes were great. Well decided to get the trio tri tip with mashed potatoes and the 2 bread sticks. Mashed potatoes are very good and typical as long as you warmed them, again, a delicious side ! However the main claim to the game! The $30 fuckin steak that you couldn't cook properly enough to chew it! I tried 3 different knives,all sharpened and I just could not cut through anything. Chewing the same piece, 10 min later. I would absolutely not share this with kids if you like your meat more on the rare side because they will choke ! Overall, prices are okay but we won't be ordering their steak again that's for sure. Also who seasons a steak with just pepper? At least that's what it tasted like. I finally picked up the order at 4:30pm. They are slow! I ordered a family meal. The salad came with a rotten avocado. It's disgusting! It's completely not acceptable. I just don't get it. When the person who prepared the salad and knew it's rotten. Why does he/she put it in the salad? That person could be vision impaired, or just does not care!!!
