3 1/2 stars if I could! I just can't give it four because nothing stands out as unique. It is however a great little hole-in-the-wall with outstanding service! I've been twice and been impressed both times with how quick and kind the service was. As far as food, I've tried the burgers, wings, and pizza - all of which were good, but nothing memorable. Wings are a tad fatty and pretty small, pizza has great crust but is greasy on the bottom. They have two different pepperoni options, which is kind of cool. They do have karaoke on Wednesdays which people take pretty seriously! It's entertaining but pretty loud of course. They also have some pretty great beer specials. $3.50 for a 24oz domestic. Lively, fun atmosphere with typical bar food is what you can depend on at The Hamburg Pub. Sometimes that just hits the spot! read more

This bar does not follow COVID rules, place is dark and dirty and no place to go to if you care about your safety. I wonder what other food and hygiene rules they don't follow when prepping your food, storing supplies, serving booze or washing dishes. So gross! read more

Many visits to a place frequented for years. New owners. All new staff. Long waits even when slow. Good not good. Kept going back hoping it was just growing pains. Nope. 40 minute wait for lunch with hardly anyone there. 2 hour wait for dinner. Waitresses grumpy, defensive, and avoids customers so they didn't have to explain. Very, very sad. Finding a great bar burger isnt as easy as it seems, but after driving by this place for way too many years we learned on of our favorite waitresses now works there so we stopped...., and have been kicking ourselves ever since . That burger is a big juicy classic bar burger, their Rueben is a thing of beauty as well. The beers are cold and the staff is very friendly. Just far enough off the beaten path to be a hidden treasure. Great bar food, good sized portions. A Father's Day yearly tradition in our household. Never had a bad meal or poor service. We came across this spot after taking a wrong turn from the main road yesterday afternoon. Decided it must be fate and went in for some grub and spirits. Right after we arrived it became really busy. A birthday party was gathering in one area. Many patrons coming in for dinner. Others just to wet their whistle. Flat screens line all the walls for sport fanatics to get their fix on. Trivia, Club Keno and the full range of lottery games are available. The menu is a step above the normal bar fare. But we settled for the bar burger with all the trimmings. They turned out to be moist, tender and very flavorful. The onions rings were served up hot, crisp and non-greasy. The draft beer selections are limited to domestic and canadian. My choice of LaBatt's was ice cold and arrived in a frosted glass. Waitstaff was readily available and warmed up to us. Next trip out I would order the pizza. I conclude they must be good as I saw many of them being served up. read more

I freekin' love this place. I lived down the street for years, moved out West, and every time I return to Michigan it's right back to the Hamburg pub to visit with friends/family. A great bar food menu with lots to choose from, some of the best atmosphere in the area, and service so fast it will make your head spin. Decided to try them for the 1st time on Friday as they advertise their fish & chips to be the best around. Don't bother! The bettered fish & fries were too greasy for my taste and the portions were small. However, the server was attentive & pleasant while their karaoke participants were surprisingly good. Tons of monitors all over the place + Keno screens wherever you looked. Liked all the old beer pulls lined up + other neat paraphernalia displayed around the interior. We just moved to the area on 6/18 and was looking for a local place to grab some carry out. Our neighbor had mentioned this place so we gave it a try and glad we did. We went to the bar to place a carryout order and were greeted by the owner. When he found out it was our first time, he bought my wife and I a beer. The beer was a nice gesture and a smart one. The food was very good, so much so we went back the following day and tried to go back the third day but was too early. Great food, very good beer selection, nice outdoor porch area. You will definitely see all types of folks here. Others must agree, the place was busy both times we have been there. We plan to visit this Memorial Day weekend. read more

Complete Let Down. I have been visiting Pinckney, Michigan at least twice a year or the last 4 years. I live in Hawaii but have been coming for the summer and enjoying the chain of lakes. In previous trips, I have really enjoyed going to Hamburg Pub, watching sports, drinking cold beer and having excellent bar food. All of these things, you learn to appreciate and miss after living in Hawaii where everything twice as much. I also remember reading a great article 3 years ago about how the previous owners took over the business again so as to bring back the level of service and quality of food that was missing when they sold it to new owners 3 years prior. I will agree. I came before and after they repurchased it and noticed a big difference. Every time I visited Hamburg, I told my girlfriend that I was going to come for "cod night" and enjoy the all you can eat special (again something they don't have 6,000 miles away in Hawaii0. Because of COVID, I was unable to make it to Michigan last summer so it was a long time coming for the cod night that I had been thinking about over the last couple of years. Yes, it was still on my bucket list. So last night as I was winding down my 2 week stay in Michigan, we decided to make cod night happen. We invited our friend and decided it was game on. We had plenty to eat in our fridge but opted to make this event happen. We were thinking in some way we would be supporting a local business. We decided to wait until after 8 pm so the dinner rush would subside. As we arrived at 8:30 pm, the parking lot was full but diners were starting to leave so we quickly got a table and waited patiently for a few beers. Everything was looking good and we were all very excited about cod night. When they server came back, we opted to skip the appetizers and focus on the all you can eat. After we ordered, we talked about how nice it would be to come back over the weekend to watch football in the pub. We placed our order at approximately 8:40 PM and or meals came out 5/10 minutes later (via another server). The fish was delicious and we quickly mowed through it ready for rounds two and three. Unbeknownst to us the kitchen closes at 9PM even though the website says 10PM. As we sought out our missing server to order more beer and more importantly more fish, we noticed she was doing her side work avoiding any eye contact with us. Our friend had to track her down and reel her in to tell her we would like to re-order the special. It was rather obvious at this point that she did not want to be there and was ready to go home. She put in our order and came back with beers and a total of 2 pieces of fish for us to split. As she dropped it on the table, she explained that the kitchen was closed and this was all we could get. So much for all you can eat special still listed on the board. She also explained that she was going to comp us the difference between the all you can eat price and the 2 piece dinner ($2.00) for one of our meals even though none of us got all you can eat. I looked down at my Iphone and it was 9:06 PM. Unfortunately, all of us were still hungry and and unsatisfied. When the server was walking by on her way to finish her side work and clearing tables, we flagged her down again to ask her for more cole slaw (knowing that it did not require cooking). She looked at us like we were crazy. No, we were just hungry and that was our only option. As we looked around, we noticed that other food was still coming out of the kitchen. She brought us our cole slaw and promptly took our condiments so she could finish her side work and get home I guess. Sorry, I like salt and pepper on my cole slaw. Oh well. Shortly after, she brought us are check so we could get out. I noticed that the $2.00 comp for the all you can eat inconvenience was only $.20. A typo mistake and no big deal so we again flagged her down from her side work to correct it. By then, my girlfriend left the building because she was over it. My friend and I paid the bill and left a 20% tip despite the poor communication and service. My thoughts are: 1) This is a local bar that is hyped for great food and atmosphere (both of which I agree with). Why be a a server in a BAR if you don't want to work past 9PM? 2) It seems reasonable that when we were ordering, she could have explained that the kitchen was closing in 20 minutes and come back within those same 20 minutes to check on us, ask about the food and potential re-order of the all you can eat special. 3) We would have ordered something completely different had we known that Cod Night was over with. read more

Dry hafe the ingredients missing Ate only hafe..(im not one to complain) glad i didn't eat it all because i have food poison. Hidden gem. It's not a very convenient location, but worth the drive. It's good food and just a really fun environment. They do trivia days and karaoke. Haven't really dealt with any sloppy drunks on the few times I've been there late which is always a plus. Been here a couple of times over the past month or so. We came for the fish and chips on a Friday night. The fish was very good. The place was packed, with people waiting. A good sign. Beers were especially good, served with a frosty mug. Definitely will be going back. Want to try their pizza. Saw several tables with pizza, and it looked good. Planning to come back at lunch to try a burger too. Prices very reasonable Remember, it is a local pub. It is not a chain. It has a great pub atmosphere. Nice and cozy. Kinda loud, but again when you are busy, that is what you would expect. Parking sometimes difficult with the Friday night crowd. All in all, great little local pub. read more

I have been going to the Pub for over 30 years and it pains me to see how bad the bar has become. We go there after golf every Tuesday and all the regular waitresses, except one, have left and the service and food is sub standard, at best. Last Tuesday, the bar ran out of Seagams whiskey and then when we all went to watch the Michigan football game this past Saturday, The bar informed me they no longer had BTN so Michigan and Michigan State will no longer be on TV there when that would be the network carrying the game. The new owner needs to do some serious soul searching and they need to get rid of the bar manager, she does not have a clue. We are now looking for a new bar to go to every Tuesday and Saturday as this place is now totally unacceptable. read more

This local pub has never disappointed, parking can be tricky, but once your in the staff is friendly and fast! I have had the Fish fry and the Burger with onion rings. I crave the onion rings, so a visit is required when this happens! This is a very casual bar, and local, so don't expect a fluffy experience, just good food and good people. read more

I've been to this place at least twice a year for the last few years, and I live in Jackson, MI, almost 2 hours away! I love the karaoke friday and saturday nights, and their karaoke selection is enormous. I've never had a bad meal there, and the drinks are definitely tasty. This is a bit of a backwoods treasure, so don't go in there expecting anything fancy. The waitresses are all your classic diner style women who have an attitude and a sense of humor, and who are the friendliest bunch you'll ever meet if you treat them with respect. do not go here!!! we were here on friday for the fish fry. all you can eat is not all you can eat here. the service is damn terrible!!!! we waited to be greated. we waited to place our drink order. we waited to place our food order. we waited to get our cold food. we asked for seconds on our fish and waited and waited and waited and nothing came. the damn female waiting on us was playing stupid games with us. she told the other waite staff not to get us anything. we finally gave up went up to the bar and asked for our check and went home hungry after paying a $50.00 bill. don't even think of going here. what fish we did get was damn terrible and nothing worse them cold fish. the people in the next table sent their pizza back because it was not what they ordered. nothing but trouble if you got to the hamburg pub. read more
