I tried Mike's (ran by Bruce) today based on a recommendation by my favorite philly cheesteak place (Eat at E's). The burger was fantastic, it had a great meaty flavor that is as good as you're likely to find anywhere. You have to wait for your meal to be prepared fresh and hot just for you, exactly the way it should be. You're going to pay for it though, I thought it was a bit pricey. If you want cheap, go to BK. My side of onion rings was too small for the overall price. Give me more onion rings, onions aren't very expensive, and i'll feel alot better about how much I paid. read more

Best burgers on the Southside! Hamburger Mike's is a favorite place to go with my family for dinner or for lunch with my coworkers. The homemade potato chips are wonderful but then so are the fries. I love the angus burgers but also dig the black bean on a wheat roll. One day I'll get around to ordering the hotdog. read more

Gave this place a shot because we pass by it all the time. I'm always a little weary of places claiming to be the "best" because they rarely are, and we were pretty underwhelmed. Got a half pound combo and it was about $11 after tax. Best description of the burger was it tasted like the frozen costco patties you buy in bulk with some season salt on it, but a little bit greasier. The patty sits on a bun you assemble the tomato, onion, pickles as well, and you add your own condiments. Adding grilled mushrooms or onions would have been an extra charge per additional item taking our burger up a couple dollars had we opted. Not terrible, but not a $10 or more burger. If we were just talking a mediocre burger, I'd probably give it 3 stars. But a mediocre burger, with condiment bulk pumps like at baseball games, and zero effort on the restaurant interior (you can get away with that stuff if your food, is in fact amazing) and the price of the food for value gets them one star. It doesn't out-burger Fuddruckers, Five Guys, Red Robin, Islands, or any chain I'd be willing to drop $10 on a gourmet burger, and at least they have corporate, facility, labor overhead to justify their price. I know this place and their bowling alley condiment pumps, couple of staff members, and hole in the wall location, do not have that going on. They have some kind of challenge wall, which I assume is a standard promotion to get people to spend more money and eat more than they normally would and in return you get a picture on the wall. Their almost 5 stars on Google reviews and almost 4 stars on yelp brought us in, so they get one star. Maybe we did it wrong and didn't get a greasy bacon cheesy burger, or something. Also, the place smelled weird the day we dropped in, like a really strange cleaner of some sort. I don't know if it's always like that, but another reviewer mentioned that too so it might. Added note: Mike, the owner, used profanity when talking to my family. He told my family to get their "sorry asses" out of his establishment. My aunt and uncle were visiting from New York and wanted to patronize a local restaurant in Henry county. My aunt is a NY councilwoman and my uncle is a retired NY railroad engineer. My mother is a registered dietitian and educator and my father is a retired US Army Lt. Colonel. Mike's condescending behavior was very embarrassing to my family as well as demeaning and disturbing. My parents, aunt, and uncle are senior citizens and notable citizens of this country and their mistreatment they received was appalling. As a resident of Henry county, I am stunned of this behavior by a local business operator in the community. read more

Won't be back. People seemed friendly enough but, everything is cheap, cheap, cheap. Food comes straight off the Sysco truck. These are not homemade burgers, more like Bubba Burgers with even less flavor. read more

I have eaten here several times but will never go back again because of the owner. Yesterday I odered a small chili and the bill was $3.20. I put a five dollar bill and 2 dimes on the counter. The owner who had took my order got the chili and then picked up the money on the counter and gave me back $1.80. I told him this was not right and he said I only gave him five dollars. I got in an argument with him and he keep on acting like I was trying to steal $0.20 cents from him. I told him "don't you dare lie on me". He was so arrogant to me and keep saying he was going to be $0.20 cents short at the end of the day. One of the employees noticed 2 dimes on the floor right where he was standing, it turns out he had dropped them. I demanded he give me an apology. He slowly gave me an insincere apology saying accidents happen. But he never apologized for falsely accusing me and treating me like a lying theif. Him dropping the change was an accident. Him being arrogant, disrespectful, and treating me like a lier and a theif was not an accident. That was a choice he made which goes to show his personal charactor. You can not falsely accuse a person of a crime. If I went into a store and they falsely accused me of stealing I could sue them just like I could have sued him. By the time I got back home I was crying and my mom had to calm me down. I have never been treated this way before. It is not ok to lie on someone and blame them for your mistakes. read more

I have been to this place many times. Service is ALWAYS exceptional!!! However tonight the burger was so dry you couldn't chew it and the fries so grease logged you couldn't eat them. Normally this is the spot you would recommend. I hope it's just an off night for them. This is the first time of many I'm actually disappointed in the food taste. Overall the service is the best around and I hope the food quality next time will be as it was before. Overall I would recommend this place. One bad experience out of many isn't too bad. I heard this was a great place. I went with some friends only to discover that the hamburgers were typical frozen patties. ( I was hoping for hand made burgers) The toppings bar was so small only one person could dress their burger at a time. The sides, (I had the fries) were very skimpy. I think there were 14 fries on my plate. the bacon on my cheeseburger was very small. YOU can get a better hamburger at, gulp, McDonalds! What a let down this place was. read more

Best burger in Mcdonough, for sure! Atmosphere is a very casual - think picnic fare. I enjoy sitting outside at the picnic tables, especially late evening. The service is very personalized and the owner & employees have always checked in on me while eating. They've let me stay after closing to finish up before as well. The burger's are great and I love they offer sweet potato fries. The cookies are exceptional but indulgent enough that you should probably share it. I had lunch at the Stockbridge location and ordered the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The food was ready in a very reasonable time and the staff was really friendly. Wife loves burgers so we went to give it a try. Good news-great service, tasty food. Bad news-$22 for two 1/2 pound burgers, fries, drink. Burgers are Angus beef-but so are lots of other places. The toppings bar was fresh and clean. Also different liquids (A1, Heinz 57, honey mustard). Everything is made fresh and they have choices (fish, philly steak, hotdogs, chicken). Also the cookies in the case on the counter were huge and looked good. Would I return? Yes but wouldn't make it a regular stop mainly due to price. Let me just start off with saying that the Service is amazing ,I have never been to a place that the people are so sweet and nice. I love that my husband and I can take our new little girl to such a clean place to eat. They stand by there word when they say "Best Burgers in town" I got it cooked just right and I love that I can make it myself. I don't like pickles so if we go anywhere I always say I don't want them and still get them, but here I know I won't get them. Plus you get your moneys worth I can only get the number one which is the 1/3 because it's not fake meet!!!! We come here about once or twice a week come try them out!!! read more

Great food... great service... great music.... never had better prime rib in a restraunt. I grew up with a family of cooks and do not lime to eat out but I heard ao much hype about mikes prime rib and ribeye steaks I tried my luck and I was greatly surprised. Ill be dining with these guys again. My prime rib was excellent,the twiced baked potatoe was huge and I loved the smooth southern rock being played. The personalitoes of the employees were just excellent. Thanks hamburger mikes for changing my opinion of restraunt food and service... great job!!! read more
