This is a coolnpla e to eat and the service is great. The food came out twice as fast as I thought it was going to. Then the food. I wish it was a little better. Coleslaw needs more sauce. Red beans and rice needed more seasoning, checkout a popeyes. Brisket was a little over cooked, but I did eat it all with some sweet bbq sauce. My wife enjoyed the chicken but not the potato salad. Food was amazing! Had the brisket melt with wedges, delicious melt in your mouth brisket and the flavor was so good. Hubby had ribeye steak sandwich, he loved it. The service was great! Cute small spot and busy too. Nice and clean. Too bad I live in Sacramento LOL would be coming here often.

Excited to finally eat here since they were closed last time we tried - but was honestly hoping it would be worthy of more stars. Gave it 3 last time without eating, and the needle didn't move post food. Still 3 stars... Customer service: Came in a little after 7 (they close at 8) but got the immediate vibe the server wanted us to get 'to go' rather than have a seat (I get it, I worked at a restaurant and hated people that came in last minute, but it was an hour to close- plenty of time). We ordered to go. Server was friendly but more tips would come your way for dine in Vs take out. The cook looked bored and over it. I get it, it's a hot day and cooking burgers has got to be hot. But, as the saying goes, if you can't stand the heat get out the kitchen. Jk I feel for you - Owner needs to get you AC asap but in the meantime fake a smile in front of patrons. Food: When I got home and opened the to go lid I noticed two things right away- 1) Fries were potato wedge cuts!! Thumbs up. 2) Burger had flat fast food vibes... thumbs down. Once I started eating my thumb rankings oddly swapped places... 1) Had to get ketchup from the fridge to get the fries down as they were very very very bland. We came for the fries but they are in desperate need of salt or seasoning. anything!. Was simply a potato. Thumbs down. 2) despite its meager McDonald's-esque appearance, burger actually tasted really good! Thumbs up. Restaurant style: Burger shack disguised as an Old town diner. Definitely a dive but I mean that in a positive way. I dig it. It's a great location and solid stop, especially if heading towards boonville. The postcard idea is cool too - I love participatory decor. It was pretty empty and I think I know why... I'm glad we felt pressured to get our order to go bc I don't only feel for the cook; Guests need AC too! Cloverdale is hot and it was maybe 10 degrees cooler inside than out which, even at 7pm, was far too hot in august to eat. Menu: Lots of options for just about everyone which is always a plus. One of their burgers apparently has one some awards which is a cool claim to fame. They were out of ribs (and onion rings) which seemed odd for a bbq joint touting such a large bbq sign out front. The Yelp menu needs updating, particularly the prices as each burger was more expensive than planned. I know this place has an older style which I appreciate, but It's 2022 and card is king... aka the credit card surcharge felt petty. Overall: Ultimately this little burger dive on the hill is a bit overpriced and unfortunately overrated. A good spot in a pinch (if you can get there more than an hour before closing lol) but honestly they have significant competiton down the street in downtown Cloverdale. I love bbq and want to give a better score in the future, so hoping this may be an off day and that next time (yes there will be a next time eventually) I hope my experience is improved and in line with those who raved about this spot and encouraged me to check it out

    The spicy bbq was best.

9/27/23 Wednesday 1:30 stopped in for a quick lunch while in our way from point arena to Newark. Our service was sweet. The place was pretty much empty. We asked for recommendation and she said smoked chicken thighs. So we did with sweet potato fries and a small salad. The salad was cold and crisp and the ranch was pretty standard. The sweet potato fries were so good. The smoked chicken with their spicy bbq sauce provided on the table was very good. The chicken had a good smoked flavor only complaint was it was not hot and skin was rubbery so had been sitting in kitchen a while. Really wanted to order dessert that was featured on dry erase board but server said they didn't serve any of the other desserts listed besides the butterscotch. Okay?! So why the posted pies?! Also the didn't disclose the surcharge until we saw on our ticket. We would have paid with cash.

Everything was cooked perfectly. I had one of the specials of the day. A thousand island burger with sautéed onions and melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. My son enjoyed their standard cheese burger. Good sized burgers and portions for reasonable prices. Clean establishment with cute decor. Red gingham curtains and beautiful wood walls. Excellent customer service from the waitress. I'd stop here again if in the area.

We've been coming here for a very long time. 21 years, back to when you could sit out front where the old gas pumps used to be. I mean we came here up to once every other week some years. Currently, we haven't been here since the pandemic started. We ordered our favorite burgers and fries last week and the meat was dry and way overdone especially on the edges. The dipping fries weren't hot or crispy or soft inside like they used to be, just blah. Figured I'd give em a second chance and try again today with another old favorite (two item meat plate with two sides) and when I went to pay for it I almost fell over. It was $10 more than what was on the yelp order menu! $26 (before tax) instead of $16! Yes I know everything has gone up but number one, not this much and number two, then post the new prices somewhere. This is the only place to see the menu. They no longer have a website. For a website all you need is a $10 to $25 domain name (per year) and a picture of your menu. You do not have to be fancy. If they can't update/keep up a website then they need to make sure their prices are correct on yelp. So the meat was at least ok but the smallest thighs I have EVER seen. I love love love cole slaw and this was bland soggy and no flavor. Onion rings were definitely nothing to write home about but could've been worse. I have posted pictures of my receipt, the prices on yelp and the new menu prices. I can see over five years ago my review was five stars. How the mighty have fallen :( Im so disappointed as this has been a family favorite place for years

I took my family there once. I've got my own barbecue at home so I don't need to experience that again, for sure. Enough said.

We came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were definitely busy with a line out the door. Despite the crowd, all the staff members were welcoming and kind. No one seemed flustered or made us feel rushed. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a piece of apple crumb bread (gf), loaded cheesy toast with avocado, a peluche (stuffed crispy roll), and our coffees. My mom and I each had a lavender latte with oat milk. These were awesome! Rich and smooth with a hint of lavender, not overly sweet at all. My dad had a mocha that was also very tasty. The loaded cheesy toast was delicious and the presentation was better than what you get at most boutique cafes in SF or LA. The almond pesto absolutely makes this dish and the spicy mayo drizzle on top is the perfect kick to complement the melty cheese and creamy avocado. The peluche was very good as well-- flaky, crispy outside with roasted potatoes, scrambled egg, and cheese in the middle. You never know if the food is going to meet your expectations when a kitchen is busy on a weekend morning, but it was all tasty and nicely presented. Apple crumble was also stellar! This is the kind of local coffee shop everyone hopes to have in their hometown. Will definitely be going back here with my parents whenever I'm in town for a visit! :)

We happened to be driving by on the way to the Skunk Train and stopped by for lunch. There is a variety of sandwiches you can eat on site as well as a grab and go from their refrigerated section. We went for the seasonal turkey and brie served with fresh chips, both surprisingly delicious for a sandwich that I was tempted to get another to go. I had my eye on the Lemon Ricotta Hotcake topped with ice cream, yes, ice cream. Instead of butter, you get to enjoy it with ice cream slowly melting over your hotcake, making each bite heavenly. I did move the scoop to the side so it wouldn't melt as fast and I can taste the velvety ice cream on its own. Since it was the holidays, I could not resist getting a caramel apple cider which was warming without being overly sweet. With outdoor seating outside, would love to come back during the summer for leisurely brunch.

The shakshuka is really pretty with it coming out in a small skillet. Kinda wanted a bigger slice of sourdough but no big deal. More of a lighter option but I also wish I ordered the Benedict instead for a heartier choice. The lemon ricotta hotcake is easily the highlight! The lavender ice scream isn't overly sweet and the floral flavor profile comes out well, the oat crumble adds amazing crunch to the thick and fluffy hotcake. Get this for yourself or to share. If I come back, this will always be a must now. Outdoor seating beats the indoor for sure but it was a bit hot out so I stayed in. I'd even come back to eat the brunch items for a dinner.
