    Cheesy Stone Ground Grits

This weekend I dined at Hamilton's Kitchen for the first time. A friend of mine rented a private room for an event. When you arrive, valet will park your vehicle for you (valet tickets are validated by the restaurant so make sure to do this before you leave). Walking in, the restaurant is past a lobby/bar area on your right. The place has a gentle vibe. It's beautifully decorated and was a perfect place to host brunch with the girls. Our waitress was Gabrielle. She gave great advice about the menu, helped us order drinks we'd like, and was very attentive. I ordered the crab and asparagus omelet with hollandaise sauce, a side of bacon, and a side of cheesy stone ground grits. The average meal is around $20. The grits were my favorite--they were absolutely delicious. To drink, I had a PERFECT mimosa, an espresso martini (because I have to order one everywhere I go), and a lemon drop martini. The drinks were all delicious. Can't wait to return to give this place another go. Thank you, Gabrielle!

    Spectacular dessert: Affogato panna cotta!

Lovely Winter Park hotel dining room with an ambitious menu. Acoustically a bit noisy, servers competent but not as attentive as they could be. Fresh fish usually a good option.

-Magical Dining 2025- Hamilton's Kitchen was my kickoff to MD 2025 and was a lovely start! We were excited about the well varied menu and came ready to sample the variety. I personally went with Caesar Salad for the starter which is my lowest scoring plate from the evening. Honestly lacking flavor and the one anchovy atop the dish felt misplaced. I prefer its presence in the dressing. But the lentil soup and grilled peach burrata plates were much better. If I were to get a do over, I'd go burrata. Better flavor throughout. As far as main plates, I was very satisfied with the airline chicken. The entire dish felt well executed and the sides paired nicely. The salmon was also exceptional and came with one of the tastiest sauces I've ever had! Dessert was my favorite and I stand firm in my choice to go with the bread pudding which was served perfectly warm with some berries for freshness. The portion was so generous as were all of the plates served! This is definitely one of the better valued options as far as magical dining is concerned. I really enjoyed Hamilton's Kitchen and look forward to returning. The service was friendly and I did enjoy the atmosphere inside although look forward to dining on the expansive outdoor patio during the cooler months!

After reading the reviews I was glad I'm not alone on this. The food and the service really wasn't on par with what the price is. I walked in on Mother's Day and sat at the bar. The bartender was very cold. Nice, but not a smile or a friendly remark when I tried to talk to her . My date wanted a table but since it was res only , we ended up at the bar. I ordered three proccezcos for our lunch with was probably my favorite thing. It was nice ! But that's kinda where everything stopped . We ordered the fried green tomatoes and we got it and there was no goat cheese so we alerted the bartender and she said they made the wrong one. She apologized and it was fine- we received our new dish and it barely had goat cheese on it at all. The menu boasted whipped goat cheese like it would be in abundance. The dish was good, just wasn't what we were expecting. For our main, I ordered a crab cake Benedict that just wasn't good. It was really salty and the crab cake had no flavor. My date got the braised short rib that was just ok. For the price, I was expecting more flavor. Around us it seemed as if people were having their own issues. One guy at the bar was fuming about waiting for his check. There were multiple people who asked for dinner menus that had to wait for more to be printed. And a couple asking where their food was with the excuse being "they're turning the kitchen over for dinner so it might be a while but I'll go check" One reviewer had said it seemed like the wait staff didn't care whether their guests were happy and I will say I 100% agree with that. When I'm at the bar , I dont want to be treated cooly. Bring in someone who is nice and jovial who makes me want to stay.

1 year later we are back, but probably never again. This place really went downhill in 1 years time. The Cesar salad and pasta dish were too salty, the chicken entree had no flavor, was luke warm, and dry. The salmon was good, I was told and while the shrimp and scallops tasted good going down, I was sick 3 times later that night. The sticky toffee pudding was neither sticky nor toffee, it was 3 small slices of raisin like bread with raisins and a smear of cream. Totally underwhelming for $10! Service and ambiance were good, but not worth the price and disappointing food!

The service was incredible. Omar was our server, and he truly made the experience special. He made us feel welcomed, celebrated, and taken care of from start to finish. His customer service was exceptional, and he genuinely went above and beyond. The food was good overall, though a few dishes felt like they needed a bit more flavor. For example, the blue crab could have used a touch more salt or seasoning to really elevate it. That said, the presentation was beautiful, and the portion sizes were great for the price. The ambiance was lovely. The hotel itself has stunning areas and views, making it a perfect place to relax and hang out even after you're done eating.

I had lunch at The Hamilton Kitchen at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park today for a work gathering, and it delivered a solid experience. The space itself is impressive: big table, great energy, and a staff that actually pays attention. Service was smooth and courteous despite the size of our group, which is always a good sign. For my main lineup, I started with the avocado toast, and this was easily one of the standouts. Thick, hearty wheat bread topped with rich avocado, Maldon sea salt, sweet peppers, and corn. Visually sharp, genuinely delicious, and surprisingly balanced. The side Caesar didn't quite match the enthusiasm. Iceberg with bits of romaine, anchovy-forward dressing (a win), but it leaned a bit sad with crumb-style croutons and barely any parmesan. Edible, not memorable. The steak frites brought me back. Fries were terrific--crispy, truffled just right. The steak sat on a bed of arugula with chimichurri that had good character but could've used a little more salt to really wake it up. Still, it was cooked to temp and enjoyable. Dessert was the bread pudding, and that one hit the mark. Warm, comforting, dressed with a cream sauce and a berry compote, with fresh fruit on top. Easily my favorite part of the meal. All in, I'd give The Alfond Inn a 7/10. I'd return, especially for that avocado toast and bread pudding. The only real downside is the parking and traffic near Rollins--it gets congested fast around rush hour, which takes a bit of shine off the experience. But I'll be back.

Eater Brunch was at Hamilton's Kitchen this year. It's located in downtown Winter Park on the campus of Rollins College, which is a gorgeous area. We made a reservation well in advance but to our surprise, it wasn't overly busy. For an appetizer, we had the breakfast breads to share. Another individual ordered a separate appetizer, and it arrived well before the breads. Our server forgot and we had to remind him. Once they finally arrived, they were delicious. For entrees, 3 of us had the salmon and enjoyed it. The Halmet was also popular, as well as the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. The food was all plated beautifully. For the price and experience, the service could have been much better overall. But the food was delicious.

Yum. We had a great meal here recently. We started with a Burrata and Fig Salad, Brussel Sprouts and Beet Salad, and Buttery Cornbread. Next came an exceptional Sauteed Faroe Islands Salmon with a great Succotash (with a bit of Okra). The fish was crispy and cooked just right - still moist inside. My friend had what they called an America Peking Duck. They also called it a Duck Breast Confit. I don't understand the choices of names, but my friend thought it was delicious. Then we split a huge bowl of the McCallan 12 Yr Butterscotch Pot De Creme with large chunks of Toffee. So good. Brian was very good at service. We'll be back.

This restaurant is always beautiful on the inside. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Magical Dining menu is unbeatable in both value and variety. I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh and well-balanced. For the main course, I had the salmon with corn succotash. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Dessert was the butterscotch pudding, rich and satisfying without being too heavy. Service was attentive throughout the meal, making the whole experience even better. I always recommend this place! It is consistently excellent.

The steak frites are just as magnificent as my boyfriend and I remembered. Have you ever had a food memory? Years ago, my dad made the best steak I've ever had. He passed away when I was a kid, and two summers ago, when I took my first bite of the steak here, my mouth watered... but so did my eyes. It was one of the strangest, most beautiful experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. For a moment, it felt like Dad was sitting at the table with us. To taste something so familiar, something I hadn't experienced in over twenty years, was surreal. That's not a compliment I hand out lightly. So we each had that For this visit, we started with the rock shrimp tacos, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They packed a nice little kick without overwhelming the dish, and we practically inhaled them. Of course, we had to finish the meal the same way we did last time: with churros. Somehow they were even better than we remembered. Crispy, warm, perfectly sweet, exactly the kind of dessert that makes you argue over who gets the last bite. My boyfriend ordered two Old Fashioneds, and I had two Cosmos. Both were delicious and definitely generous on the pour. I was a little concerned when we arrived for our 8:00 p.m. reservation because the place was PACKED for a Thursday night. We ended up waiting a bit past our reservation time. The hostess suggested we grab a drink at the bar, but that area was just as crowded, so we hung out in the lobby instead. The wait ended up being completely worth it because we were seated at the exact table I was secretly hoping for: the most perfect little corner window booth, straight out of a movie scene. It was the ideal setting for our last night of vacation. And then there was our server, Anton. Anton could teach a master class on waiting tables. He was efficient, funny, attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he was doing. In a world where great service sometimes feels like a lost art, Anton was an absolute delight. The Ravenous Pig delivered once again: phenomenal food, excellent cocktails, memorable service, and one of those meals you'll still be talking about long after you've gone home. We can't wait for our next trip to Orlando and our next visit back.

The snapper collar tacos were the star of the show. Easily enough to share between two people, with fresh fish and really good homemade corn tortillas. The fish of the day was also excellent and the fresh ciabatta with garlic butter was hard to stop eating. The cauliflower appetizer missed the mark a bit for me, the pieces were a little too big and came out slightly undercooked. The chicken salad was just alright, nothing bad but nothing memorable either. Parking can be a little tough in the area, but the complimentary valet makes it much easier. I love that they have a quicker option out back with the beer garden, you can't go wrong!

At this time, the restaurant was quiet, but by the time we left the place was packed. It should be noted we left at closing time as we had such a fun and enjoyable experience. Although Emily told us she has only been working as a server here for the last two weeks, I think she will have a great run at this location. She has an effervescent personality and was easy to talk to and laugh with, which she displayed to all of her customers. Obviously, we became good friends with her throughout the night. Emily allowed us to have a tasting of various wines to determine which one we would like to select for the evening. We went with the Adelsheim Pinot Noir ($88 a bottle) to start the night. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Dates (serving of three), the Burrata (a combination of cheese, basil pesto, tomatoes and balsamic dijon vinaigrette on wood grilled ciabatta bread), the Tuna Crudo (seared ahi tuna with cucumbers, pineapple and cilantro) and a board consisting of Spanish style salame and aged Gouda cheese. The board also had roasted almonds and honeycomb, along with the bread. As the night continued, we ordered another bottle of the Pinot Noir and a second helping of the fantastic Burrata. We appreciated the fact that we were not rushed from our table as we were allowed to have a relaxing and enjoyable evening of great conversation. At the end of the night, Emily provided us with a slice of olive oil citrus cake on the house. (What a thoughtful touch!) It was a heavenly ending to the evening and went well with our wine selection. Got sat right away and the hostess said she'll bring some menus over. One of the TVs next to us was time lagged and had to watch a further television for the latest up-to-date action. The ambiance wasn't a sports crowd here so we just had a snack and decided to go to the Irish pub afterwards for more soccer fan action. Over half the people weren't even watching the TVs or didn't seem to know that this is the final FIFA game They had some specials today and wondering so bc everyone around us got wings but didn't see it on the menu. Got the wings and they were fantastic. I didn't like the thai sauce so much so was glad to have that on the side. Ask for a ranch but received blue cheese, didn't know until I found a big hunk of blue cheese in there but I didn't mind that, it just lacked flavor. I liked how they did only celery and no carrots for I enjoy that more when accompanying chicken wings. The tacos that were seen looked pretty good and was considering them Kentucky bourbon barrel ale and Black widow NA cider were nicely presented in cold glasses and complimented the wings well Good service, and got checked up on regularly. Just had to grab her for the check before the halftime started

We ordered the buffalo chicken egg rolls and the deviled eggs (with no bacon) as appetizers. For our new drinks we got margaritas, I got a regular margarita and my partner got a passion fruit margarita. For entrees, I had the famous fried chicken and my hubby had the meatloaf. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, relaxed, they keep the shades lowered during the day to reduce that sun intake and it's lovely. It feels nice and relaxed in here no matter the weather outside. Again, we enjoyed the experience but the service was fairly slow. We had to pretty much know what we wanted by the next time we saw our server or flag her down to get her attention. She was waiting about 4 tables on our area. We were party of two.

The drinks were great and the food was soo good that we still talk about it days later. He loved the bone marrow. Steak was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The cake was not my favorite at all. It took way too long to come out and it came out very cold. Not much chocolate flavor, too much salt. It was missing something. We will skip dessert next time.

What an incredible dining experience at Delany's Tavern!…read more From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional, and the ambiance was the perfect blend of elegant and welcoming. We started with the She Crab Soup, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. I then ordered the Dirty Rice Entrée, and wow--what an explosion of flavors! It reminded me of a New Orleans-style paella, loaded with perfectly seasoned dirty rice, andouille sausage, shrimp, and an incredible depth of flavor in every bite. My husband began with the French Vegetable Soup, which he described as magnificent, followed by the Short Rib Sliders, which were tender, flavorful, and expertly prepared. For dessert, we indulged in the Peach Cobbler à la Mode, topped with vanilla bean ice cream. It was decadent, comforting, and the perfect ending to the meal. To top it all off, we enjoyed a frothy cappuccino served with a rock candy sugar stick--a beautiful finishing touch. The food, presentation, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. We can't say enough good things about our experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended!

Would I bring a date here? YES!!!!…read more The Pinery understood the assignment. Great atmosphere, great food, and an awesome staff made this a perfect date-night spot. The season watermelon cocktail was so refreshing and lite and packed full of flavor. The shrimp & grits were the standout--rich, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. The dip with toasted bread was perfect for sharing, the cocktails were creative, and the key lime pie was a smooth finish to the night. But the service really elevated the experience. Marco (aka "Tequila Time" ) was awesome, and honestly, the entire staff was amazing--welcoming, attentive, and made us feel taken care of from beginning to end. We stopped by The Pinery for happy hour and left with mixed feelings. If you're looking for wine,…read morebeer, cocktails, or simple mixed drinks, happy hour is worth checking out. However, I was surprised that the bar bites and appetizers were still fairly expensive, so the food specials didn't feel like much of a bargain. We started with the coconut shrimp, the short rib tacos, and the bread service, and all three were fantastic. The coconut shrimp was crispy and flavorful, the short rib tacos were packed with flavor, and the bread service was the perfect way to start the meal. Everything was off to such a great start that we had high expectations for our entrée. Unfortunately, the chicken-fried steak (which is actually made with beef despite the confusing name) was a huge disappointment. The meat was incredibly tough, to the point that it was difficult to chew, while the breading ended up being the most flavorful part of the dish. The broccoli tasted like plain steamed broccoli without any seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were just average and didn't add much to the plate. The entrée was disappointing enough that we asked for it to be taken back and chose not to have it remade. What made the experience more frustrating was how it was handled. Neither the owner nor a manager came by to ask what went wrong or gather any feedback. We were also offered dessert in a way that made it sound complimentary, but it ended up being added to our bill, which was confusing. One other thing that stood out was seeing the owner speak rather sharply to an employee over a white towel hanging from his pocket. It may have been a minor issue, but it could have been addressed more privately. On the other hand, every other staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere and is definitely a nice spot for a date night. I can absolutely recommend stopping by for drinks and appetizers, especially during happy hour. Unfortunately, the entrée and the way the situation was handled kept the experience from living up to the expectations set by such a strong start. While I'm glad we gave it a try, I don't see myself returning.
