I do a lot of reviews specifically because it's a big part of my job. I have been coming to this tire shop for well over 18 years now, and I have a great appreciation for the way they conduct business here. Ever since Johnny, the gentleman who actually cuts tire treadmarks into his own haircut, assisted me the first time at their old location off of Huddleston, I have been coming back time and time again. I used to specifically ask for Sebastian. But, unfortunately, he is no longer with the company, but that does not deter me from patronizing this wonderful establishment. Today I needed a few new tires, and Chris, a very well-spoken, and professional man I spoke with on the phone, Was able to nail my tire size spot on and fit me into their busy schedule. Well I've been coming here for years, grew up in the area. Used to be the best place to go and they assured quality service ( you can tell from all the signs saying they have good service) I had a flat tire. They fixed it, I had a locking lug nut that couldn't be removed. They fixed that too. Come time to pay, they forgot to charge me for the lug nut, so I had to give them my card again, wasn't sure why they didn't charge the right amount. They also said they diddnt have any lug nuts to replace the one that was removed, I reminded them that they told me they did before servicing my truck, luckily I was persistent enough for them to actually go and look for one, which they did have ( good thing because I paid for it?) The next day. The tire is flat again, I put air in it, drove back up to the shop, they asked me how I know it's flat. That was annoying. Then I sit there and watch as eveyone stands around for fifteen minutes staring at me sitting there, seemingly annoyed they have to work. I watch as they begrudgingly repair the tire again. Let's see how it works out, also, the repair took about an hour and a half becauee I guess it was lunch time. So they waited to finish the job until eveyone had ate and sat around for an hour. My car had a couple nails in and was flat. Went in for a patch but they told me it wasn't possible due to the location of the nails. They then told me I had to replace my tire, but because my SUV was an all wheel drive I had to replace all 4 tires. I told them I had never heard of that and they still insisted on doing all 4 for $440. I left and had it done at Discount Tire and they only had to replace the one bad tire. Came here for new tires on a random day during the week. I had standard size tires for a 4 door sedan nothing special so they had mine in stock. Once I arrived I told them what I needed and they right away directed me to their toyo tires. It offered a rebate plus 60k mile warranty which was awesome. All in all with an alignment, came out much cheaper than other places around. It's been a few weeks and i have not noticed anything off my alignment which is awesome. I would definitely recommend coming by and checking it out. I can not express enough how happy I am with my purchase. I will end up bringing my other cars by when the time comes. The guy's over at Hamm's tires in Watauga rock! Took the family car to Firestone for an alignment and was told that my front two tires needed to be replaced badly and that it would cost about $280. I kindly declined and then called Hamm's tires for prices and was given a much better price for a pair of better tires. So I ran over to Hamm's tires and when I got there, they did a quick check of my tires and was told the same thing that Honda told me three months ago, that I still had a good amount of thread on my tires and just needed an alignment because the outer threads were showing more wear than the inner. Bottom line is that they could have gone ahead and sold me the tires I called about, but they did not. Granted that I will have to watch my tires more closely, when it's time to actually replace them, I know exactly where to go. read more

I went in with my thinning tires. I couldn't afford new tires at another shop. Hamm's actually got me in, got me 3 used tires(with plenty of tread and all) for less than 1 new one would cost me. THE WORST! NO customer loyalty!!! The worst service from the guy at the counter. I had been a customer since 2005 and have purchased tires for 6 different vehicles spending thousands of dollars with this company. I went in and paid for two passenger side tires that were worn because the driver's side tires were fine. The technician installed them incorrectly by putting both tires that I purchased on the back which left a dangerously worn tire still on the front passenger side. They basically had me pay to replace a perfectly good tire. A few weeks later the tire that should've been replaced blew out so I went back asking for the good tire they removed and they acted as if we were trying to get something for free. All I wanted was for them to make it right. My tire size is rare (235/30/22) so they rarely have them in stock. I'll pay double the money from now on to do business elsewhere. read more

I had a screw on my sidewall both discount tire and firestone told me its unfixable I need to replace the tire, which I'm pretty sure its fixable but then again what do I know? This place does dirty work when it comes to pricing insurance claims. My insurance adjuster cut them a check equivalent to the amount the dealership would have charged. They refused to disclose the amount it cost them to do the job so insurance had to base it off high dealership prices. Hamm's was able to price gauge (legally) and put a 400$ mark up on 2 control arms that they replaced which put their price substantially higher than dealership prices. They refused to work with Geico and charged me the difference. Please don't go to Hamm's they don't deserve anybody's business. Dishonest and immoral!!!! Sebastian will screw you around if you give him a chance. He will especially jack up prices on women. read more

Awesome service! Bought a set of almost brand new used tires and none of the chain shops would touch it. Hamm's got me in quickly, was open on Memorial Day, and the staff was incredibly friendly. They also left my aftermarket valve stem caps on. I have had them "disappear" at other shops. Totally unrelated, but they had the cleanest bathroom of any shop I have ever been to (and I used to work at a shop/parts store!). I had bought tires 2 months ago and didn't purchase warranty with them. Well I got a screw in one of them and it was completely ruined and I was going to have to buy a new tire. With Christmas around the corner and being a single mom this was the worst news I could get since I just spent unexpected money on a new battery. Well they reassured me they would take care of me and help me out I was expecting a discount but instead I got a new tire without charge. I was crying and this seriously made more than my day. I was having trouble with tire pressure and I called over there, and they told me to come right over. They got my car in right when I got there, fixed the problem in twenty minutes, and were really helpful in answering all the questions I had. I've been going to Hamm's in Watauga for years and it's about time I let everyone know how great they are. The place isn't much to look at but, what their facility may lack in ostentatious appearance is more than made up for in their ostentatious service and pricing. I had flat fixed today. They filled the tire, found the leak, de-mounted the tire from the rim, hot patched the hole, remounted the tire on the rim, balanced it, removed the spare which I had put on the truck, filled the spare to proper pressure, remounted the spare under the truck, replaced the original tire, and torqued the lugs. Fifteen minutes; ten bucks. Their employees are always helpful and friendly. Simply the best. Watch out Discount! read more

The people are nice but it took Hamm's Tires over 6 hours to install 4 new tires and align them. The only brand they carried for my sedan was 'Toyo.' Not Michelin, Bridgestone, Cooper, Yokohama or any brand I have ever heard of. They aggressively recommended the 'Toyo Extensa' tire to several customers, emphasizing its 60k mile warranty. They turned away many customers. Don't know if they are this busy everyday. So glad I brought my lunch with me! read more
