What is needed after you are stranded on a highway with a car that you can no longer drive is a lovely overnight stay. I was towed to a nearby street so I didn't have to worry about being charged for self-parking. We were greeted warmly and given a clean quiet room on the 3rd floor. We were across a parking lot from a strip mall and were able to stock up on pjs and snacks. It was the silver lining after a stressful afternoon. Staff is friendly when you check in, but paying to park was not fun. It would have been easier to just pay as you check in or better yet free. This has been the only hotel that charges a parking fee. The ones closer to downtown doesn't even charge anything. It took me a while to set up pay to park, which was not fun after a long day of work. My 1st night I amlost fell on toilet because they are super low. They are elementary school sized toilets. As someone else mentioned, the big gap underneath the door makes it easier to hear everyone. The 1st night I heard some lady have a long conversation at 11 pm and on. My last day, someone's phone vibrated at 5am, 5:15 and 5:30am and I thought it was my phone bc of the thin walls. That person also had a full on conversation with his partner, so needless to say I gave up on sleeping until 730 am. Another thing I didn't like is the lack of black out curtains. So the sunrise would wake me up the first couple more nights. Room does have a nice size and I like how it has a desk. Wish there was a light switch to turn on more lights in the room, instead of individually flipping on all the lights. Other amenities they offer are free breakfast, mini gym and computer to do office or emails. I had stomach issues 2 days in a row from their breakfast so I started to stick with fruits and coffee for breakfast. I'm pretty sure the yogurt gave me issues because it's just yogurt on an ice pack on the bottom vs other places having yogurt in the fridgator or some container that looks like it stays cooler. The gym had a couple treadmills, free weights, kettle bells, the jumping box thingy, and a thing that looks like a bow flex. I personally would not book this place ever again due to paying to park, not having to have good sleep due to thin walls and gap underneath the door and the food giving me stomach issues. You have to pay for parking...and it's not a garage nor was there security. The carpet/flooring was filthy-my 16 month olds feet were black. Luckily we only stayed 1 night. This was a disappointment and we have stayed at many other Hamptons in the past. read more

If you want to stay in a Hilton property that has complimentary breakfast and close in proximity to the numerous wineries in Paso Robles, then stay at the Hampton Inn in Paso Robles it will be worth the stay because it's Hilton for the stay! I loved the ease of the QR codes for the parking and tips. The amenities were the KIND brand and the walk-in shower was safe & clean. This Hampton was located by the Highway 46 and is also about 32 miles from Hearst Castle. Breakfast is served daily from 6am-10am and there were even free coloring pages/sheets with crayons for the kids and kids alike to enjoy in the lobby area as well as to enjoy the hot breakfast. The standard hotel room we had was a double queen bed with a chair and desk, enough space for your luggage and for a family especially if you have small children. So enjoy the wine country by staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Paso Robles, and relax! read more

Ended up using the digital key thing thru the app. In the morning, I asked for a real key for the hubs since he doesn't have the app on his phone. We picked up some fast food on the way down, so basically just ate and slept. There was a table with enough room for all our food. (We get a fair amount of fast food for the two of us.) In the morning, I checked out the breakfast and grabbed some coffee. They had a decent spread - omelets, turkey sausage, hash browns, muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, waffle station, etc. We had planned on going to Justin on Sunday, so I picked his hotel due to the proximity and my Hilton loyalty program. Used 60k points. Otherwise, I think that night was going for like $400 something. I am Diamond status, but wasn't upgraded or anything. Not sure if they would have upgraded me anyways, but we didn't check in with a person. Just thru the app and headed straight to the room with the digital key. Fine hotel if staying in Paso. Never been in Paso Robles, surprised it's a charming little town. The hotel is nice and clean. 10min away from downtown, but conveniently located next to target plaza. The Hampton Inn & Suites Paso Robles is among the nicest Hampton Inns at which I have stayed to date, and I've stayed at a LOT of them. The first thing I noticed was that the physical plant of this 20-year-old hotel is more attractive than many Hampton Inns. The exterior has the recognizable Hampton Inn look but the lobby, breakfast area, and interior spaces are a cut above: more spacious, with higher end finishes and even a fireplace (but how often you need one in Paso Robles?). To top it off, hotel employees told us they'll be doing a "refresh" in the next few months. Check-in was accomplished quickly, and right next to the front desk is a fairly extensive "wine cellar" (a wine room, really). Of course; it's in the middle of California's Central Coast wine region, so that's not unexpected. Prices are pretty reasonable but if by chance nothing they stock appeals, there's a BevMo about a half mile away. Glass wine glasses are also available so you don't have to drink wine out of the paper cups that are in the room. The rooms are also more upscale than many Hamptons - and more generously sized as well. Our king room was over 200 square feet, measuring about 18 by 12 feet - more than enough room for our king bed, a chair with a reading lamp, a desk and work station, and a dresser for the TV, microwave and small fridge. The closet has a full-length mirror on the outside door, along with plenty of hanging space as an iron and board inside. The bathroom was also well-appointed with a large walk-in shower, cubbies next to it for convenient access to the towels and washcloths, and the usual amenities. The only negative (in my opinion) is the move away from individual amenities to bulk shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Although increasingly common across the industry, for me they conjure the image of a gym rather than a hotel. The people were uniformly polite and professional, friendly, accommodating and gracious. They quickly addressed whatever I needed, greeting us with a "Hello," or "Good morning" when passing in the hall, lobby or breakfast room. Staff always offered the elevator to guests, waiting for the next car to move their housekeeping cart or other service items. The complimentary breakfast is typical of a Hampton Inn: good variety of hot and cold items, kept stocked and the room kept clean by a helpful attendant. The property also offers a modest pool and hot tub, guest laundry and business center. Its location is convenient. Near the interchange of Highway 101 and westbound state Highway 46, it is less than four miles from downtown Paso Robles and close to several grocery and drug stores, wineries and restaurants. Very mediocre Hampton, unfortunately. Room was not super clean and had a large gap under the door, so lobby noise/music interrupted my sleep and enjoyment of the room. The desk lap in the room flickered while it was on, so it needed a new bulb or replacement. David at front desk was friendly, but Connie was less so. She acted like my request for a noon check out, as a Gold member on a quiet travel day, was a big deal. (I haven't experienced that anywhere before.) The jets in the hot tub were not working either. And the door to the pool area was very hard to open. TIP: You can avoid the nightly parking fee by parking on the street a few feet away. read more

We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed our stay at The Hampton Inn. Traveling with my little one, I'm always super aware of how clean a hotel is an overall was super impressed. The staff was also super Nice and welcoming from start to finish. To make it even better they offer a nice spread of delicious cookies and refreshments which changed almost daily. The breakfast was also great and included in the rates. Honestly one of the better breakfasts I've had at a hotel in a while. If you're in town for wine tasting, you can't go wrong. My expectations for a Hampton Inn are always a fair experience. I stay in them occasionally as a 5th or 6th option for price and/or convenience. I've stayed at Hilton brands often, after all, I'm a Diamond member. They are usually very pedestrian. Positives: ======== * Rooms: clean and comfy. * Free parking * Breakfast: a small buffet with eggs, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, waffles, yogurt, bagels, toast, etc. It's not deluxe, but it's more than acceptable. * Gym: very small but very nice and clean. Free weights, a Peloton bike, 2 treadmills. * Pool: small as hell, but clean and okay. Bottom-line: =========== Not recommended to pair up with a wonderful wine experience in Paso Robles, but a good crash site and conveniently close to the 101 freeway. read more

The cautionary news - I am a woman traveling alone, and the hotel provided my contact information to another guest. This is exceptionally dangerous. This particular hotel is owned by a franchisee, so Hilton corporate and their legal and privacy teams have simply shrugged their shoulders. The franchisee has failed to respond to my messages. The good news - the employees were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast smelled great. When I arrived, there was a complementary wine tasting in the lobby. That's fun! Some other unfortunate news - as other reviewers have indicated, this property charges for parking, which isn't ideal. Also, the walls are pretty thin, and so it was hard to sleep with a very loud/active family next to me (watching TV until after midnight.) The information about construction came AFTER I had booked, which isn't ideal. But what really frightened me was that my privacy was compromised, and that the hotel itself doesn't care to apologize or to find out more about the security breach. The hotel is beautiful and clean, but being part of the Hilton chain I'm disappointed in having to use a 3rd party company to pay for parking. Generally, one of the perks with staying with a Hilton chain is paid parking. When checking in, I notified staff that I have a handicap placard. She notified me that I do not need to pay. Upon going to my vehicle this morning, I found a ticket requesting payment. I spoke with the front desk. I was given a complimentary code but when logging in, I did not see a way to put this code in. $15 for overnight parking when I paid over $300 for a room doesn't seem like a lot to some, but it is the principle. I will not be staying here in the future. Charging for parking when you also have a sign stating that I'm responsible for my valuables...no security but definitely money hungry. read more

Stayed here for an overnight stay, and won't be coming back. I usually love Hampton Inns for their good balance between cost and creature comforts, but at this place, I paid for the room, but the comforts were just not there. Disclosure that my stay was on Dec 2021, where COVID is almost over, but Omicron variant is starting. I decided to do a touchless check in. I used the app to pick my room, check in, and all was great. Keyless entry has come a long way since from a few years back. You can unlock your room almost instantly now. Nice little feature. When we decided to crash for the night is when the room decided to be rude. First off, the entrance door to your hotel room is thin AF. People walking back and forth can be heard so clearly. Granted there was some event going on this night (I realize a family get together), but sound proofing was not even a consideration at all. The beds were high and very springy. Moving around will definitely wake up your partner. Finally, no thermostat for your room. There is an AC/Heater under the window where the controls are. I guess the thermostat is on the unit itself. This is a problem because when we turned on the heater, the unit got warm, which in turn, warmed up the in-unit thermostat, which then turned off the unit because the unit thought the room warmed up. This led to sporadic temperatures in the room, and sometimes having the heater turn on every 20 minutes throughout the night. When it was time to check out, I got my app, touched, "check out" and the app told me that I had to go see the front desk to "verify some information." I went downstairs, all for the front desk to tell me that my stay was paid for, and I had no incidentals. Not even sure why I needed to see them. I was pretty disappointed of this location. read more

Stayed for a night at Paso Robles to do some winery thing while on our central coast vacation and decided to book this hotel. We're generally a fan of the Hilton family of hotels so I figured it couldn't be that bad booking a Hampton Inn. Our stay was comfortable and nice, same amenities as most hotels: small refrigerator, microwave, complimentary coffee, and tea. What I appreciated the most, despite most hotels deciding against it during pandemic times, is the fact that they provide free breakfast. Free hot breakfast, not just your muffin and fruit basket on a small table by the check-in/checkout area. They also did have some muffins and fruits in addition to some scrambled eggs, frittata, oatmeal, waffles, and sausages. Sometimes, it truly is the little things places do to ensure people are satisfied and happy! I mean, sure the breakfast I paid for while staying at the other hotels were better but free, if we lived according to my husband's rule is always better. The room was slightly outdated, darker painting, furnished with things that swept me back to the 90s but the bed was comfortable, the room fairly quite and they have the largest showers of anywhere we've stayed at this entire week! I also loved how nicely the room smelled and how clean they've left it for us. Again, truly appreciative of the little things! They have a pool but it's too cold right now for that. They also have pamphlets if you're wanting to explore the area (ie. Wineries) or the neighboring towns! Also, right outside the main door is a cool sign pointing to the directions of the many Paso Robles wineries! read more

Just wanted to note that if you're an honors member looking to collect some points -- this is your only option out here. Property is any of that you would expect with Hilton - clean, friendly service and the reservation process (while using the app) is effortless as always. Room was clean and ready as expected. A true and tried formula. A known entity. I know what to expect at any Hampton. Can't complain about a thing. Well, other than it's a slightly older and dated Hampton. The heavy silk-like maroon drapes were overkill. Plain white or cream cotton works. Keep things light instead of so formal and stuffy. The dark cherry wood furniture is a bit too old-fashioned as well. The art is also stuffy. I stayed at a very nice updated Hampton Inn in Sparks, Nevada with a much more contemporary look. read more

We had a two night stay last week. We were told when we reserved the rooms that they were recently refurbished and the lobby is currently being renovated. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The renovated room left a lot to be desired. Our room had a king bed, TV, one chair and one desk, and a couch. Here the TV was not directly in front of the bed, but off to the side and attached directly to the wall so it couldn't be seen while lying in bed. This would have been an issue if the TV actually worked (more on this below). The door to the bathroom was a sliding barn door type that was very heavy and hard to move, particularly if you are older and/or have strength issues. The toilet was very low, not much more than a foot high. Again, if you're older and have balance or strength issues, you have to turn sideways and hold on to the counter to help get off the toilet. When we discovered the TV didn't work, staff immediately moved us to a room with two queen beds, from which you could see the TV. However, the desk lamp blocked part of the screen, so we had to lay the lamp on its side in order to watch. The bathroom door was still an issue, but the good news was the toilet was higher, so that helped. In both bathrooms the toilet paper holder was behind the seat so you had to twist to get paper. The design of the rooms was poorly thought out and not user friendly. We will not stay there again. read more

Hotel is under extensive renovation. Not noted on their website (see pictures below). This fact was disclosed to us in an email three days before our arrival. We stayed in a room that was supposedly renovated. It featured: 1) a door that's seal was so bad that we could see through the crack to the hallway outside; 2) a peephole that couldn't be used because it was blocked by a sign that they installed directly above it so you couldn't slide the cover up to see through the peephole; 3) a toilet that's flush handle was installed incorrectly at an absurd angle; 4) same toilet constantly ran; 5) a shower with incredibly weak water pressure; 6) a microwave oven that made loud bangs and thumps when used; and last but not least 7) a heating/cooling unit that made a horrendous noise. Recently I've had good luck with Hampton Inn and suites. This was no exception. Room was clean and comfortable. Service was fast and friendly. Parking was free and convenient. One of the things I've learned to appreciate is a hotel that has a blanket in the closet. I don't understand why hotels use a comforter suitable for Arctic temperatures. First thing I do is throw that comforter on the floor and use a normal blanket. even with the room air condition set to 65 degrees, it was unbearably hot under this comforter. + Air conditioning was extremely loud. + Cable TV service was a bit outdated. We've stayed here multiple times as we've headed north to Monterey and then back home again. This is also the perfect place to stop if you're visiting Firestone since it's a 15min walk to the facility. Also, this hotel is right off the freeway but it is actually very quiet so don't let the location throw you off. I like Hamptons in general, and this one never fails to satisfy my need for a simple but comfortable place to rest. Breakfast is what you'd expect for any Hampton. Beds are also as expected. Rooms are large. Lobby is clean. Convenience store as the basic snacks in addition to a little "wine room" which is great. Predictable and reliable and that's what I love about Hampton. Service is also always friendly and there's never any hassle checking in or out. My only issue with this place is the parking. The spots are SMALL. They need to repaint the lines. read more

After 2.5 years of no travel, hit the road to Paso from San Diego. Archie, the 2-year old cat was ready for his first hotel adventure. Hampton had just widened their pet-friendly policy to include cats. Pet-friendly typically means dogs. Archie was the 1st feline guest and he had a ball! The room was perfect for watching the birds. His humans were impressed with the the King Suite. It had everything they needed for a few days away in a hotel. Fridge, bar sink, large room, nice decor, big window(s) and fresh air for those of us who like it. The staff was great. Kitchen staff was wonderful and friendly. Breakfast each morning was perfect. Free parking. Fantastic location. Bevmo, Target, breweries (including Firestone Walker), wineries, restaurants, everything you might want... within a couple of miles. 30 minutes to the coast. We will definitely return! Can't thank Jennifer, Guest Relations, enough for her warm hospitality! She's a pro! We didn't take photos of the room. Forgot! We had room #301 - top northern corner. Headed to Hearst Castle, I needed a place to spend the night that I know would offer a nice room and of course, you know it's Hampton Inn all the way. They offer the biggest bang for your buck, and offer a super comfortable room that's clean, a business center if needed, and an exercise room to get your heart pumping. They also offer a couple of free bottles of water upon check in (silver members) and free breakfast from 6am-10am. This particular property is designed with the beautiful surrounding environment in mind with the mountains and curvaceous landscapes and sitting inside the dining room, you'd swear you were in Tennessee somewhere. Theres a lot of natural stone in their buildout and the feeling it gives you great; the hotel owner definitely wanted to spend a few extra dollars to leave an impression on the guests. Service upon check in was fast and courteous and the rooms were in usual spectacular fashion. Breakfast offerings were also great. Highly recommend this particular Hampton Inn. You're a mark if you choose to stay at the Hampton Inn in Paso Robles. Not only is the hotel poorly maintained, the customer service is awful. However, if you choose to act like a chump and stay at the Hampton Inn in Paso Robles, here are a few pro tips: 1. When you enter your room, perform a thorough check for bed bugs and other vermin. 2. Check your bedding for hair, blood, and other bodily secretions. 3. Wear shoes or sandals at all times while walking on the carpet and tile in your room. Your fungus-free feet can thank me later. 4. Consider sleeping in a bio-hazard suit, complete with N95 respirator and eye protection. You might think that the $289-a-night price tag will ensure a good, clean, relaxing experience at Hampton Inn. You'd be better off staying at a tweaker-infested Motel 6 where you'll get the same (or perhaps better) quality at a lower price. read more

Went here for mine and my boyfriend's birthday getaway. Overall the experience met my expectations. When we got to the front desk, she was friendly and asked us what brings us to Paso Robles, we had said "The Birthday weekend and going to the Sensorio's Field of Lights. The room was clean and liked the little note that said "Lourdes cleaned the room" I was beyond thankful that the room was tidy, it was better from my last stay a month ago. Free Breakfast from 6am-10am on weekends, they have a refreshment section before going to the front desk. I love the safety that they have with their guests. we booked a queen suite with sofa bed. When getting ready to unfold the sofa bed there was a handwritten note under the cushions that said "out of order". This should have been told to us at check in. We had to call the front desk for a roll away bed! Then the room smelled like cigarette smoke and we booked smoke free. Then the hair dryer was disgusting and broken. Again we had to contact front desk and go get a replacement. the only reason we give this hotel two stars is because the staff were so friendly. Stayed here while visiting and celebrating our anniversary. The hotel was so sweet, since I mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating they left us some chocolates and a bottle of wine to enjoy. The breakfast each day was ok, but it was free so can't complain. The coffee station did also have flavored syrup to add and hot chocolate too. Plus the best was everyday after a long fun day of wine tasting we could walk back into the hotel and right up front they had fresh made cookies!
