If you want to stay in a Hilton property that has complimentary breakfast and close in proximity to the numerous wineries in Paso Robles, then stay at the Hampton Inn in Paso Robles it will be worth the stay because it's Hilton for the stay! I loved the ease of the QR codes for the parking and tips. The amenities were the KIND brand and the walk-in shower was safe & clean. This Hampton was located by the Highway 46 and is also about 32 miles from Hearst Castle. Breakfast is served daily from 6am-10am and there were even free coloring pages/sheets with crayons for the kids and kids alike to enjoy in the lobby area as well as to enjoy the hot breakfast. The standard hotel room we had was a double queen bed with a chair and desk, enough space for your luggage and for a family especially if you have small children. So enjoy the wine country by staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Paso Robles, and relax!

Date Arrived: Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 Date Checked Out: Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 Time Arrived: around 11:45pm Time Checked Out: around 11am Room Type: 1 King Bed Nonsmoking Room Number: 306 The hubby and I were meeting up some friends for the weekend in Paso Robles. Since I had to wait until he got off work, we arrived rather late. Ended up using the digital key thing thru the app. In the morning, I asked for a real key for the hubs since he doesn't have the app on his phone. We picked up some fast food on the way down, so basically just ate and slept. There was a table with enough room for all our food. (We get a fair amount of fast food for the two of us.) In the morning, I checked out the breakfast and grabbed some coffee. They had a decent spread - omelets, turkey sausage, hash browns, muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, waffle station, etc. We had planned on going to Justin on Sunday, so I picked his hotel due to the proximity and my Hilton loyalty program. Used 60k points. Otherwise, I think that night was going for like $400 something. I am Diamond status, but wasn't upgraded or anything. Not sure if they would have upgraded me anyways, but we didn't check in with a person. Just thru the app and headed straight to the room with the digital key. Fine hotel if staying in Paso. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. What I expected for a Hampton Inn. Plus, the breakfast seemed a little better than other Hamptons I've been to. REVIEW #3432

    Generous guest room

The Hampton Inn & Suites Paso Robles is among the nicest Hampton Inns at which I have stayed to date, and I've stayed at a LOT of them. The first thing I noticed was that the physical plant of this 20-year-old hotel is more attractive than many Hampton Inns. The exterior has the recognizable Hampton Inn look but the lobby, breakfast area, and interior spaces are a cut above: more spacious, with higher end finishes and even a fireplace (but how often you need one in Paso Robles?). To top it off, hotel employees told us they'll be doing a "refresh" in the next few months. Check-in was accomplished quickly, and right next to the front desk is a fairly extensive "wine cellar" (a wine room, really). Of course; it's in the middle of California's Central Coast wine region, so that's not unexpected. Prices are pretty reasonable but if by chance nothing they stock appeals, there's a BevMo about a half mile away. Glass wine glasses are also available so you don't have to drink wine out of the paper cups that are in the room. The rooms are also more upscale than many Hamptons - and more generously sized as well. Our king room was over 200 square feet, measuring about 18 by 12 feet - more than enough room for our king bed, a chair with a reading lamp, a desk and work station, and a dresser for the TV, microwave and small fridge. The closet has a full-length mirror on the outside door, along with plenty of hanging space as an iron and board inside. The bathroom was also well-appointed with a large walk-in shower, cubbies next to it for convenient access to the towels and washcloths, and the usual amenities. The only negative (in my opinion) is the move away from individual amenities to bulk shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Although increasingly common across the industry, for me they conjure the image of a gym rather than a hotel. The people were uniformly polite and professional, friendly, accommodating and gracious. They quickly addressed whatever I needed, greeting us with a "Hello," or "Good morning" when passing in the hall, lobby or breakfast room. Staff always offered the elevator to guests, waiting for the next car to move their housekeeping cart or other service items. The complimentary breakfast is typical of a Hampton Inn: good variety of hot and cold items, kept stocked and the room kept clean by a helpful attendant. The property also offers a modest pool and hot tub, guest laundry and business center. Its location is convenient. Near the interchange of Highway 101 and westbound state Highway 46, it is less than four miles from downtown Paso Robles and close to several grocery and drug stores, wineries and restaurants. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it!

We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed our stay at The Hampton Inn. Traveling with my little one, I'm always super aware of how clean a hotel is an overall was super impressed. The staff was also super Nice and welcoming from start to finish. To make it even better they offer a nice spread of delicious cookies and refreshments which changed almost daily. The breakfast was also great and included in the rates. Honestly one of the better breakfasts I've had at a hotel in a while. If you're in town for wine tasting, you can't go wrong. I googled about 20+ wine-tasting options within a mile of the hotel.

    Sign about parking. Disgusting.

The hotel is beautiful and clean, but being part of the Hilton chain I'm disappointed in having to use a 3rd party company to pay for parking. Generally, one of the perks with staying with a Hilton chain is paid parking. When checking in, I notified staff that I have a handicap placard. She notified me that I do not need to pay. Upon going to my vehicle this morning, I found a ticket requesting payment. I spoke with the front desk. I was given a complimentary code but when logging in, I did not see a way to put this code in. $15 for overnight parking when I paid over $300 for a room doesn't seem like a lot to some, but it is the principle. I will not be staying here in the future. Charging for parking when you also have a sign stating that I'm responsible for my valuables...no security but definitely money hungry.

We have always preferred Hampton inn for the comfort and price however this Hampton is top notch!! Not only it has all the comfort and priced so well, it is beautiful, new, good sized rooms and easy access to wine country and freeway. Morning breakfast due to covid is to go. They had a breakfast box with bagel, boiled eggs and yoghurt. They also had scrambled eggs, fruit and coffee/orange juice. Parking is complimentary. Staff is super friendly. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy Paso Robles wine country.

Will be staying here again. Affordable central location to wineries, Tin City and downtown. The lobby is peaceful with large fireplace. Breakfast is included and above average with hot and cold dishes offered. The hotel has their own little wine closet/room. Gym has a Peloton and large free weight selection with treadmill and elliptical but TV had no reception and clock out of batteries. There is a Starbucks .3 miles away and they take online orders.

It honestly made me wonder--if this is what they provide for guests with disabilities, that's concerning. The shower knob was broken, there was an old leather jacket left in the closet, and there was barely any countertop space in the bathroom. Along with several other minor issues, it was clear the room hadn't been properly checked or cleaned. To their credit, the staff was friendly and quickly moved me to another room, which I appreciated. That said, for a hotel of this caliber, you'd expect at least complimentary coffee--but there wasn't any. They do have a restaurant that opens at 7:00 AM, but when I arrived right at 7:00, it wasn't open. An employee mentioned the staff was running late--it was already 7:10 AM by then. Not a great look. I've stayed at the Courthouse Marriott before, where they offer free coffee and breakfast, and in hindsight, I wish I had stayed there again. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning here.

I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

Upon arrival I parked on a side of the hotel, where there were several open street parking spaces right near, what appeared to be, the entrance door. I walked in with my luggage and asked if this was the proper location to park and was told sure, it was free. I checked in and was given the keys. As we walked down the hallway we noticed that it was heavliy sented with an artifical fragrance that was overpowering. The room was of the new type, a box with the cabinets and table bolted to the wall, not built in. It was of average size, not a suite. I noticed, even for $400 per night, there were no robes provided and only on luggage rack. I called the front desk and was told there were no robes, and they would send over another luggage rack. We waited about an hour then decided to go out to dinner. when we came back, about 2 hours later the rack was leaning against the door. I went to the front desk and asked where I might be able to get coffee and the staff of three all looked at each other and said they did not have any coffee, then once person said they had it at the bar upstairs. I went up and was told they don't have any coffee. Overall it just seemed disogranized. There are a lot of other locations I have stayed and will go back to them.

Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!
