This was my second time staying at this specific location. It seems to have gone down since the last time. They were doing construction on the outside so at least they are trying to improve it. Hopefully the rooms are next. They are outdated and visibly worn. I'm not sure if it's curiosity or policy but both times checking in they asked what brought me to the hotel. I don't think I've been asked that at any other hotel. The breakfast is standard and uniform as other Hampton inns. Staff was friendly when interacting. The construction caused a big issue with parking. There was limited spots and the construction vehicles took up much of the spots by parking across numerous. The parking lot was also littered with building materials and I found myself with a flat tire due to a nail. I write this as I'm waiting to get my tire patched. I had not previously been to this Hilton Gardens, but I've been a fan of this chain for quite some time and my expectations were not let down. The room was excellently prepared, and the bed wreaked of the Hilton quality. Breakfast that was served was delicious for the four days that I was here providing great variety, fantastically maintained area, and plenty of food for all. Comfortable room. Hard mattress is good for my back. The Matrix Trilogy plays on my extra large flat screen television. Country-style decor make the room feel comfortable and warm. Good air conditioning/central heating system helps with moderating temperature. Microwave, fridge, hair dryer, cable tv (inc. Showtime), free wifi, etc all make for a welcoming stay. Check-out is 11am, I was given a late check out of 12:30pm. Close to mall and movie theaters the hotel is centrally located in Middletown, NY. If you need food and don't have a car. STAFF NEEDS RETRAINING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS THIS is my observation . Firstly hotel is very nice and rooms appear to be clean clean however customer service lacked in many areas Front desk agent did not have a mask on her face it was hanging off her ear Not good Second upon check in we waited in lobby for over a hour on line Staff never apologized or mentioned computer issues We are just there wondering what is going on Finally i approach agent and inquire what's going on She tells me key card machine is not operating Being a front desk manger several years prior I begin to offer her suggestions that include Check your patrons in and ask a houseman to open the door and customers can retrieve keys later She shuts me down Another 20 min I approach and tell her ms how about house keeping they have master keys Please get us out of lobby Social distancing is needed and they are kids here Blank stare Finally she checks me and another family in and opens the doors for us I realize this woman needs better problem solving skills Why would u leave us in lobby Get to room 317 and no complaints Kids happy Pool area nice however cigarette buds and sunflower seeds on floor the following morning at 9:30 am Not good Lastly breakfast area Masks are not enforced and no gloves or sanitizers visible so we are all using the same utensil and no one cleaning tables I am very disappointed with this facility did they forget about COVID 19 epidemic Check out agent on her phone Checked us out never asked number 1 question HOW WAS YOUT STAY that is customer service 101 read more

One of the most unremarkable hotels in the Hilton Family. The front lobby is nice and the staff is friendly. The coffee, though unremarkable, is fairly good for a hotel cup. There are flavored waters out front (lemon, cucumber). The rooms are not very nice, however. The bathroom needs some updates. I noticed rust near the drain, which made the tub appear dirty and in need of a cleaning. The wall covering was peeling in the corner of the bathroom. The TV was nice and there was a decent selection of channels. My room was directly across the laundry room in which a couple of gentlemen conversed about the happenings of the day deep into the night. There was the clinging of coins and buttons in the air. The location is odd and Google maps will not get you to the correct location. It's tucked away near some nicer-looking hotels. There are some chain restaurants around but anything else you'll have to drive to. In spite of the issues, the hotel was packed when we visited (sold out). Given the large number of rooms in the area, I was pretty surprised. So, here is the deal. If you are here for the night, go for it. Bearable. Longer than that, head for the other offerings in the area. read more

Stay here this week and it was nice. First time staying there. Very clean. Beds were comfy. Bathroom clean. I love that Hampton has to go bag breakfasts ready to grab. Coffee is good. Staff was nice and there's 4 restaurants right there. read more

BEDBUGS!!! I'm itchy and disgusted. I'm calling the board of health. I paid $180 a night to get bit by bedbugs!

This is NOW a typical Hampton Inn, meeting all the necessary Hampton Inn standards. I used to go out of my way to stay here. They would to go above and beyond for their customers having fresh donuts and rolls from an amazing local bakery. They would have a big bowl of fresh berries every morning. Now they have the regular fruit packed in liquid. Don't get me wrong, This Hampton is just fine but it is obvious there was a change in management. read more

They gave my room away for no apparent reason. Then when they tried to put me in another room, I unlocked it and surprised two people who were already in the room. When I went back to the front desk, I said, "There's a problem." The employee said, "Was someone else in the room?"... as though this was a common enough occurrence to warrant a guess. Needless to say, when I finally got into a room, the first thing I did was chain lock the door. The other aspects of the hotel were decent. But sorry but giving someone else a key to someone else's room is quite unacceptable. read more

I've stayed at this hotel about 5 times now and every time I am never disappointed. The service is friendly and very responsive. The beds are comfortable and CLEAN. You can tell the hotel is on the older side, but it's very well maintained so I have no issues with that. They provide "breakfast on the go" bags, which is very useful to me because I always have to run off to meetings. In the afternoon, they provide donut snacks, and in the evening they bring out the cookies. Needless to say, I gain a few pounds every time I come here. The wi-fi is free, the pool is heated, and there is a small workout room. The location is close to the mall and right off the highway. If ever in Middletown, NY, you should stay here! My experience was fantastic across the board. The facility is clean and modern. Saquanna who checked me in was friendly and welcoming and warm. I definitely felt at home. She checked me in quickly and gave me all the info I needed. I walked into my room and was bummed I was only staying one night and had arrived so late. BIG room, clean, modern and lovely! I also taught a seminar here, and the Huron B Meeting room was fabulous. It was well decked out with a ceiling mounted projector which made navigating the room much easier without a projector in the middle of the room. The team knew how to get the AV up and running, so we had no delays. The box we'd shipped for the seminar was in the room when I arrived in the morning, and the roster that my company had e-mailed was right by it's side. (I usually have to hunt that stuff down.) There were also super fun labels on the breakfast, which made a 6:30am meal a little less dreary! All in all, top notch. I don't usually give hotel reviews, but I was so impressed, I am taking the time. Highly recommended, and I hope I get sent there again soon! THANK YOU!! read more

Run of the mill mid-priced hotel. Our room was starting to show its age. What's with the post-it's that let you know they changed the sheets? Didn't they change them after each guest before? Overall too many maintenance problems to warrant more than 2 stars. So I started yelping just because I had to rate this hotel. I have stayed here about four times now and it is great. The hotel is always clean and the staff are polite and looks to meet your needs. The have a great breakfast every morning and there is always hot fresh coffee in the lobby all day. This last trip , I had to visit Middletown again but had to travel with my puppy. Well, I had no idea this hotel is pet friendly as well. My trip was great. The welcomed my dog at the door with a bone and the rooms remained so clean. I highly recommend this hotel read more

I travel for business on a regular basis, and typically stay at higher-end properties. After reading some positive reviews, i booked the Hampton for a family. visit in the area. I was EXTREMELY happy with this property, the staff and the amenities. First off, i requested a large corner room to accommodate my family. Right at check-in, they proactively told me they honored that request that i had put into my online booking. It was so nice to check in and have someone proactively connect the dots to a request. Later, i came back to see if i could purchase some food items that were in a display case at the front desk. The person apologized and said they were not available for purchase (they were part of a welcome gift for Hilton Platinum), but then she asked my kids what they wanted, and gave them a coupole of the items at no charge. The room itself: roomy, fridge included, and clean. The breakfast: WOW. a free spread that made my kids EXTREMELY happy. i arrived on the tail end and noticed there was no yogurt left, and I mentioned it to a staff member and he readily apologized and grabbed more yogurt. We didn't even know there was a nice outdoor pool area. small but neat and just fine for the kids. I would definitely come back to this property - great location -- and two big thumbs up to the great and friendly staff. read more
