I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hana Dragon, and I must say, this restaurant is a true hidden gem! The food was exceptional--each dish was packed with rich flavors and cooked to perfection. It's a wonder more people haven't discovered this spot, given the incredible quality of the food. What made the experience even better were the owners. They were so warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their genuine care for both their customers and the food they serve was evident throughout our visit. If you're in search of delicious Chinese cuisine served by wonderful people, Hana Dragon is the place to be. Highly recommend!

the owner is so nice. this smoothie is hitting so good on a hot day. very nice thick and natural (just how i like em). as u can tell

Good Really delicious food that wasn't overly salty and was really thoughtfully prepared. I love everything we ordered from the menu. Worth noting, there are some ridiculous 1 and 2 star reviews here that are about the PREVIOUS owners of a sushi restaurant, but this new ownership and restaurant concept are great! The owner is friendly, and they're working hard to make this place one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area! Worth a trip to go to Hana Dragon!

Their fried rice is delicious. The service is also very good. The environment is a bit like Chinese style. I love this store.

MY TASTE BUDS WERE NOT HAPPY We came in here for a late night bite on a Sunday night. Place was empty, we got seafood udon and order of sexy beach roll. Food wasn't anything special. Roll was small compared to other sushi spots in the city and both dishes were missing flavor especially the soup. Presentation of the roll was also terrible. Both of us felt the owner was given us a stink eye, maybe because we announced we would like to use our Groupon. He gave us a stone face look, likely a young lady working there stepped with a huge smile and took care of us (5 star rating for her work ethics). At the end was disappointed that a hole in the wall spot we thought would be our new discovered hidden gem was nothing more than a piece of coal.

This restaurant serves Japanese, Chinese and Thai food. This review is for the Chinese food. I really wanted to like this place because I live just down the street, but it's mediocre even for "bad" Chinese food. I like salty food, but everything was salty without actually having decent flavor. I still gave 2 stars because they used douchi (Chinese fermented black beans) as an ingredient, which I love. Ordered 3 lunch specials online for pick-up around 11:30am today: 9. Shrimp Lobster Sauce - shrimp was a bit over cooked, sauce was too salty and lacking flavor 10. Pepper Steak - generous portion, beef was tender, and the bell peppers and onions were cooked perfect, but not the typical pepper steak flavor that I'm used to. Again heavy on the salt 22. Fried Chicken Wings - literally fried chicken. Not breaded or dredged in anything. Definitely will not order again. The chicken fried rice was bland even though it was salty enough. Seems like it's missing a flavoring ingredient. Like many of the reviewers said, the guy who rang me up acts like he hates being there. I asked if there's hot sauce, and he told me it's a side order and costs a $1. He said like he was annoyed and just wanted me to stop talking to him. So just a heads up... -Sauces are considered "side orders" and cost between $1-$1.50. They charge almost $2 for an almond cookie. What?! -$10 minimum for credit card use, no Apple pay or American Express accepted If you want Chinese food, just order from another place down the street or Chinatown, and pay the delivery fee.

Food is tasty, a the portions are insane, especially with the lunch special! Incredible value, especially if you do take out.

Indeed, this spot did not let me down! It is a small Thai restaurant in West Loop, with a large menu featuring monthly specials and quite a few dishes I rarely find in other Thai restaurants in U.S. For food, we ordered the following: 1. Khao Ka Moo: a stewed pork hock platter served with rice, pickled mustard greens, shitake mushrooms, sauce (similar to soy-sauce) and egg (which I opted out). It was my first time to have pork hock in a Thai restaurant. The meat was juicy and the skin was mouth-melting. Highly recommended. 2. JJ Tiger Cry: Basically grilled ribeye served with Thai style sides. The ribeye was cooked at ~medium well. I wish it could be a fattier cut and cooked for a shorter time, but my friend thought the temp. was perfect for her. It was served with a Thai sauce and cabbage+carrot slaw. 3. Green Curry Chicken: my sister's entree. The curry tasted refreshing and flavorful. It was also great that the dish came with both rice noodles and jasmine rice, so you can try both of them -- indeed, the rice noodles, after soaking it in the green curry, tasted heavenly! 4. Yum Hed. Grilled mushroom salad. There were shitake and king oyster mushroom. Served over a bed of fresh lettuce and a kind of spciy, sour sauce. Great as a side. 5. Guay Tiew Tom Tum Koong: Shrimp and rice noodles served in a generous bowl of Tom Yum Soup. It also had much veg. Unfortunately, I am allergic to some seafood so for safety I did not try this dish. Overall, the dishes are of medium sizes, but definitely enough for us. Service was friendly and quick. I may try more dishes the next time I visit Chicago.

The crab Rangoons are AMAZING as well, which says a lot because I have tried at least 30 in the city. These are top 5. Lastly, beef chow fun was okay. The food was completely underwhelming, and when we shared our concerns with the staff, nothing was done to address them. The service was equally disappointing. Our server spent much of the time sitting on her phone while we waited for basic service like water refills, being asked about drinks, and receiving the drinks we ordered. We repeatedly had to get up and find someone just to receive attention. As for the food, the gyoza was bland and tasted like unseasoned pork. The lemongrass beef stew curry, which was highly recommended, arrived cold, had an odd texture, and lacked any real flavor. Most shocking of all were the drunken noodles. I've ordered them countless times over the years and always considered them among the best in Chicago. This time, I couldn't get past a single bite. Every dish was left unfinished. We didn't finish a single plate and didn't take any leftovers home--something that never happens for us. Between the poor service and incredibly disappointing food, this was an awful dining experience from start to finish. Unfortunately, after being a longtime customer, I won't be returning.

(Unfortunately, the sidewdalk is sloped, so the tables are sloped.) C and I order shumai, which in my experience, is served as an appetizer. Our order didn't arrive until after the main course was served. (Note to self: Next time order the main course after the appetizer has been served.) Cuisine: 4 stars - We ordered Basil Rice, to share. The flavor was different than what I have been served elsewhere. More sour than sweet. I think a better balance between sour and sweet would be better. Also, elsewhere, the rice and ground chicken are served tossed together. Here, the rice and chicken arrive on separate plates. It's difficult to mix sticky rice and chicken on a flat place. Nevertheless, the meal was completely acceptable; just a bit different. Service: 4 stars - The server was polite and friendly. Ambiance: 4 stars - We dined outside, but the interior looks nice. It's really nice to find a Thai restaurant with outdoor seating. What to know: It's BYOB (a plus) and does not accept card; only cash. For me, that's also a plus. Would I return? Yes.
