Came in today for a quick bite after a doctors appointment. My son had the Gyoza it was good nothing overly special. My husband had sushi it scared me alot because the restaurant looked very iffy! There was only 1 other guest. It wasn't as clean and fresh looking as I'd like in the sushi making station. I had the pad si ewe (chicken) it was ok very sweet I had to add siricha. Wich i had to ask for a second time after she accidentally brought me hot oil first. I also had a miso soup that came out last. It was way way to overly salty! I also disliked that all our plates came out at different times. My husband was done eating by the time I got my plate. Needless to say I didn't eat the soup. The bill was $35 . Fabulous Pad Se Ew! The pad thai has a good taste, but it is covered in sauce, so it seems a little sloppy. The LUNCH specials are super cheap, some aren't too bad, some you could go without. I love the combination lo main, but it is a little greasy. You get a TON of food, so there isn't much to complain about there. The sweet potato sushi isn't that great. I went here yesterday with my sister because Tatsu was closed at the time and we didn't want to have to wait for it to open to get our sushi fix. The place is small and cozy with a wacky tacky kind of christmas decoration plastered in random places. The servers are nice,but not as attentive as they can be. We ordered 4 rolls, the sexy beach roll, the chicago roll, the shrimp tempura roll, and the scallop one that i cant remember the name of. There sushi was good, the salmon was not too chewy and pretty to look at. My only complaint was that the seaweed was a bit too chewy for my taste. It made the sushi kind of hard to eat. The price was very cheap for how much they give you. We also ordered lo mein to go and the portion was hearty. There was A LOT for only $6 but the taste was only so-so. I had 2 coupons from "Perks at Work" through restaurants.com where I could get $50 worth of food for $25. I used this once for a pickup order and was very pleased with the food so I ordered again. The man on the phone who claimed to be the owner said they do not accept this coupon for takeout, only dine in. It clearly says on the coupon DINE IN or TAKE OUT. When I said this he started an argument and refused me service, said "return your ticket or go somewhere else!" then hung up on me. I called back and he hung up on me again. Very unprofessional and will definitely not be going back there. I've had food from here twice so far. The Singapore Noodles were pretty good. The lunch specials are really cheap also - $5.75 for a huge helping of chicken fried rice and an entree, along with 2 crab rangoons. I am what you call a Yelp lurker. I use Yelp religiously, but I never write my own reviews. Until now, for a good reason. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant while taking a walk on Taylor, and decided to go here since I support small establishments. The food here is subpar. I ordered beef pad Thai and it came out a sopping, greasy mess. I've been to tons of Thai places in Chicago enough to know you really cannot mess this dish up. I mean, who puts baby corn and mushrooms in pad Thai? The only thing that saved the dish were the beef pieces, which I picked at. My boyfriend's dish was incredibly bland, but the absolute worst part of the meal was the peach smoothie. I did not taste any fruit in it whatsoever, and would not be surprised if they told me it was made of ice, sugar, and food coloring. I was tempted to send it back, but being courteous, I decided to wait until I left the restaurant to dump it out in a garbage can. The staff was also extremely annoying; our server never came back after I told her I wanted some hot sauce, but I found her awkwardly flirting with the group of old men next to us. I have a new restaurant to rave about! I love the lunch special. BIG plate of food and crab rangoons that come with it. WOW for the price i think it was only like 5.75. They need some more vegetables in the Mongolian beef but it was still delicious. Also I've had their Hana special roll and white dragon, super flavorful. They also have a maki special which comes in a very generous amount. They also have the best shrimp tempura and sweet potato rolls. It was my first time dining in as well. The staff members are very welcoming and helped me jot down their specialties in a list. I have peanut allergy so they were very careful with my order. I would definately come back for their lunch specials and try some more signature rolls. LOVE IT! read more

I came in for a smoothie - left with a watery slushy (made with juice - NO real fruit) and tapioca balls that were hard as a rock all for almost $5. I called to complain and there was no offer for refund or compensation. It was more or less supposed to be a treat that was a disgusting experience. The smell in there was horrible too. My wife and I are very picky about our chinese food. Hana isn't perfect, but it's quickly become our go-to. Every dish we've ordered has been delicious. They're not the fastest delivery, but they're pretty good, and the food is always hot and fresh. Can't wait to try the sushi. read more

We live close to here and really wish that this was actually a good place to eat and get take out. Food is only ok, they are very unfriendly and don't honor the coupons that they give out with their menu or groupons that are sold. Love love love everything on the Chinese menu from here including the lo mien (good portions, fresh veggies), crab rangoons (huge! and you can actually see some of the "crab"), fried rice (again, plentiful and fresh), soups, and more. Even their egg rolls have a very unique and delicious seasoning inside. I was not a fan of the pot stickers as the dough was thick and gummy but other wise it is my favorite Chinese take out spot in the U.S. EVER. I have only ever gotten take out and it is normally ready to go in the time they said. If you go in and order take out you should expect to wait for a little bit as it is not super fast but that is preferable as it clearly leads to tasty food. read more

Ordered from GrubHub back in July. The Shrimp Lo Mein consisted of a very large portion of greasy noodles with a few pre-cooked shrimp thrown in. Overall the food was really greasy even for cheap Chinese food. Definitely would not recommend. read more

I ordered food just a week ago when I felt hungry. I saw on Yelp that Hana Restaurant was the closest Asian restaurant to my neighborhood. I saw many 1-star reviews and thought, "Let's just order something cheap since it's the only restaurant close." I ordered a Miso Soup, an Egg Drop Soup, Egg Rolls, and a General Tao's Chicken. When I went in the restaurant, the people of Hana greeted me and asked me to sit down. They were really nice and polite. After sitting down, the food came 5 minutes later. If you're a vegetarian, you'd love the egg rolls. They are really healthy for you and are easy to chew. Also the General Tao's Chicken tasted fantastic. The blend between the broccoli and the chicken had a really well developed contrast. The soups were actually pretty simple. They tasted delicious, but are really easy to make. Overall, I think you should just try Hana Restaurant out. I ordered some cheap and thought of Hana as a 5/5 restaurant. read more

I used to order from this place fairly regularly and I am sad to say that I no longer will. Not sure what has changed there, but the food quality has seriously gone down and so has the service. The last two times I ordered online the order has been late/wrong and the last time it didn't even show up. I have worked in the food industry myself and am more than aware that things can go wrong sometimes, but Hana did not handle any of it correctly. The order never came even after I had called twice to inquire about it. Both times I was told that it was already on the way and that the driver was being contacted. I gave them 30 minutes between calling and I live less than two miles down the street. They lied about what was going on for two hours and then canceled the order out of no where because they couldn't get it to us. At that point it was too late to make other food arrangements and I am still waiting, a week later, to get my refund (it was an expensive order). When I called again to speak to the manager why my order was canceled I was told they are too busy to talk. They were too busy to talk two more times after that. So in summation; mediocre quality of food, bad/unresponsive customer service, and management clearly doesn't care. read more

I had the worst experience with this restaurant. I called on 03/24/15 and place an order for delivery around 2.36pm. I was told it would take up to a hour for delivery. At 4pm I called to see how much longer it would take. The lady on phone told me that he would be there in 5 minutes and that he was wearing a blue jacket and I should go outside to look for him. really, He was no where to be found. I called back for the lady to say he was at the Sheraton hotel. Now it is around 4.35pm. Food never arrival. Spoke to manager that evening and was told that I would be taken care the next day. Called place order and was only offer delivery charge drop. UNACCEPTABLE I work in hospitality industry and when the guest is dissatisfy we strive in ways to make our guest happy and wanting them to return. They don't care about customer care. So just got back from an awesome date! Typically I would just order the three rolls for 10 bucks but tonight I told my bf put on your Friday night best we going out! First we stopped at jewel for two large cans of sapporas they were buy one get one free so we knew we were of to a great start. We got there and my bf being the rice and beans eating Mexican he is. ..wanted to stray from the itinerary. .. but I'm feisty and I was determined. He gets hungry a couple hours after sushi. .. not that he's a fat ass but anyone who eats sushi knows the drill. .so I promised him I would splurge and get some take out for later . Yesterday, I ordered a rainbow roll, a Mongolian beef and a Kung Bao (with peanut) shrimp for delivery. I know they are busy because usually I take my friends with me because there food was so good I couldn't resist, so I want to share it with them.I tried every single dish there, they prepared it really fast and nice. I was surprised they did it so quick because it was a little busy, but they knew what the customers ordered and got it to them as fast as they can. Sometimes when there is only one customer, the waitress knows how to keep the customer company and let them feel welcomed and feel comfortable of being at their restaurant. I thought that was really nice of them to do that because it depends what kind of feeling that person is having and they want us to feel good that they are at Hana. There restaurant is so good and nice that I don't know how to rate it, I would even give it 10 stars if it lets me. stopped by on my trip to chicago last week. friend wanted some sushi and this was the spot nearest us. i had california rolls. they were really fresh and really good. service was really nice as well. was skeptical of the ratings but im told its under new management and im thinking its a good change for the place. definitely recommend. and will be back next month for more on my next trip. read more
