Ambiance: 5/5 This is a small mom-n-pop shop vibe restaurant in Pilsen. There are a handful of tables and everything seemed clean. Service: 5/5 Everyone is friendly. If you are dining in, go ahead and find a table and when you're ready, go up to the cashier to order. They will bring the food over to your table when it is ready. Food: 4/5 The pad thai and tom yum soup was legit!! Very flavorful and yummy. The panang curry was a little watery and didn't have the most flavor, but for the price of everything and the quantity, we would definitely be back to try other menu items. Their drinks are pretty good too c:

It's been hard trying to find a go-to Thai spot since the one by my house closed down. However, I love picking up from Rice & Noodles since they have all my favorite dishes! My favorites are the chicken pad thai, crab rangoon, and the yellow curry. The chicken pad thai has a lot of flavor, and I like how sweet the noodles are. The crab rangoon is crunchy and amazing with the sweet and sour sauce. And finally, the yellow curry has such rich flavors with the soft potatoes, onions, and chicken. It pairs so nicely with white rice! The service is good. We usually do pick-up, and there's never any problems. The ambiance is very small inside, and it looks like such a lowkey spot from the outside. You definitely have to give it a chance and try it!

YUM! I love this place for both the food and the price. This is a favorite takeout spot of mine for the sake of quality, price, and quantity. Tonight I tried the chow mein (yum!!!) but regularly get the pad Thai and fried rice and have been satisfied every time. Love trying new things on the menu, I've never been disappointed.

Soo freaking good! Exceptional cucumber salad, chicken satay and homemade peanut sauce was spectacular. We also had a coconut curry and pad Thai with beef both very hearty, great portions, and super fresh. Can't wait to come back!

I love Rice & Noodles! I live far, so I usually order online, but I had the chance to visit in person, and it was definitely worth it. I always order the Thai Spicy Basil Noodles, Vegetable Spring Rolls or Potstickers, and the Honeydew Milk Tea. Students get a discount if they show their student ID. The restaurant has indoor seating, but it's small and usually busy when the high school nearby lets out.

We ordered the Panang Curry and the Pad-See-Ew noodles for takeout and they were both delicious! We got the medium spicy and it was the perfect level of spice. Pretty good portion sizes. Need to try their fried rices and Thai iced tea next time!

Lovely Thai spot in Pilsen! I ordered the pad Thai and rainbow rolls. The pad Thai was reasonably priced ($10.75) and delicious. A decent sized portion and a lot of flavor. The rainbow rolls ($6.25) comes with peanut sauce. The rainbow rolls were good but not spectacular. The sauce container was small and the rolls were a bit sloppy. They are currently takeout only and I ordered via toast takeout. Overall the service was great and the pickup was seamless. It took about 20 minutes to receive my order.

Come here for among the best Thai food in Chicago for about the cheapest. It's surprising not every restaurant in Pilsen is Mexican. Rice & Noodles is a pretty authentic restaurant. Easy to miss because it's in not such a happening area. The place is pretty small, meaning most people get takeout. After hearing about it we decided to come here. It has a pretty big menu for a small place. The advertisement inside was for the Thai Red Tea. It's $6 for a large. This is made with soda water and syrup. Simple but good. We found it incredibly refreshing. On to food. There's of course noodles and rice. It's about $9 for an entree. These come with a protein choice. We both got tofu. Good portions even at lunch. We had some classic Thai. I had the Pad See Ew. This has eggs but I left these off. She had the Pad Thai, good and basic. The food came out fast and the owner was about as friendly as there is. Helpful making choices. The medium spice level is plenty for most. Get your fill of reasonably priced Thai food. It has a lot of flavor and you can adjust the seasonings even hotter. There's plenty of items that can be made for vegans and vegetarians.

It was good food. I ordered the pad Thai and that was good. The baby eggrolls were a bit way too small but good flavor.

5 stars based on Bahn mi, cha gio and iced coffee I ordered today…read more I must have been part of an early crowd. When I arrived, there was only one other table dining, which made it GREAT for me. It's a decent size hall with 10+ table arrangements, making it pretty great for a group to enjoy their lunch. It also featured a couple of kiosks for ordering, which I thought was a bit easy to miss, since it was tucked away in the left corner when you walked in. It looked like there was also a cashier available to take orders, if you miss the kiosks. I've seen places where they simply do not have anyone at the register to take orders, but that wasn't the case for Lotus. Before deciding to visit them today, I had an impression that their menu choices were very limited compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I was used to. I'm certainly not complaining, since I'm usually a huge fan of select "specialty" approach in restaurants. That's why I decided to order one of their Bahn mi, where I normally would have chosen pho for my first visit. And it didn't disappoint. First off, the size of the sandwich was good. I've had it where they charged a buck or two less, but they weren't big enough to be a full "lunch" portion. Lotus' size, I thought was decent. I had ordered one of their cha gios just in case the sandwich failed to fill me, but I think I would have been okay without it. Cha gio was super good tho! Oh, and the iced V-coffee was good, too. Typically, they'll bring out the coffee before your meal is ready, probably because they're ready-made in the morning and all you'd need to do is pour them over ice. I of course, have known legitimate mom n' pop places, where they'll actually bring out coffee as it's brewing in Phin (stainless steel coffee filter) and a glass of ice with condensed milk, so you can wait for the coffee to finish brewing and pour yourself one, which is what I *always* prefer. Not here, but no big deal. You can usually tell how good the food is going to be by trying their iced coffee. Even though V-coffee isn't known for using "incredible" beans, the balance of the strength of coffee and condensed milk *does* make a big difference in your experience. I felt this place had it correct! I'll definitely come back myself and even bring coworkers or my family to have their Bahn mi again. What I'm not sure about is whether I want to try their pho or bun. First, they don't offer too many variations, so I'm stuck choosing from just a few. (For example, I usually go for "brisket-only" or a combo of brisket and rare steak, but they didn't seem to have those options. Granted, it's possible they'll make it happen if I asked) Secondly, I think they're a couple bucks more expensive than what I would like to pay for a bowl of pho. We'll see.

Ambiance - neighborhood gem, casual, offers small dine in area…read more Service - order at kiosk upon arrival, self serve, pick up food at counter Food - pho broth was aromatic, sliced beef was slightly different than what I'm used to (it was marinated, not the typical rare un-marinated sliced beef)
