Current chirashi bowl. Whats the point of the shrimp head with no shrimp and adding ahi tuna
    Dave L.

I've always been a fan of this place. Conveniently located and high quality with excellent service , what more could one ask for? They were 5 stars in the past and now just blah. Not sure if they don't realize their regulars see evidence of shrinkflation but they raise their prices and at the same time decrease their quality? Here's a great example of the chirashi bowl in the past and present. Had some for the best in the area in the past with several parts of squid, salmon, yellowtail and even salmon roe. Now they raise their prices and sub it a lot of it with giant pieces of ahi tuna ? That's not even sashimi and it's gross. It's hot mess and I hope they get back to their former quality soon

Take a gander at the quality from my 5 star 2015 review to tonight March 2026. Absolutely garbage. To boot, the server secured me about the two roll 25.00 deal being dine in only after I sat down. Said she was doing me a favor and not charging me full price.

I called because I got a door dash order. No chop sticks anything to eat it with. It's our fault because we didn't say we needed something to eat it with. We are staying in a hotel they Delivered to us. Okay fine we can eat the sushi with our fingers. We also got two kids chicken teriyaki. No sause on either one. The chef says he put it on. Got pictures no sauce anywhere. I don't mind having to eat our meals with our fingers. But the kids don't have to eat dry rice and chicken for over 80 dollars.

My friend and I stopped in here on our way back to her house, since we both had been craving sushi. They have a lunch special posted on their door and menus at the tables that includes two rolls for $22. Since the rolls range from $11-$19, we decided to go for the lunch special. I ordered a miso soup, and then the I love salmon roll and the future girlfriend no-rice roll. Both were really good and tasted fresh! The servers were so nice and attentive. I might have to check out their happy hour next time I am in!

Some of the sushi were really good and some were extremely not for me (the ones that had lemons) were too lemony amd sour that overpowered the flavor of the sushi. Also a really big turn off for me was their table cleaning splution that smelled sooo strong that it overpowers the smell of the food. Each time i take a sip of my soup and take a bit of my food, all I smell is the chlorine. I hope they can tone it down.

Now THIS is good sushi. Quality fish and fun rolls - What more can you ask for? I've driven an hour to this sushi spot on multiple occasions because it's just that good. I typically mix it up with one roll but for my second roll I ALWAYS get the Amber Roll. Simple but something about it is oh so tasty. The service and restaurant itself is pretty no frills but that's not a con for me. Great for lunch too.

Got 2 dragon rolls, and they were riddled with small bones. Liked the other rolls, but I wish these were prepared better

Very nice place, easy to find, very clean and presents well. Inside and outside seating. Wasabi tray came with a small cucumber salad that was wonderful, slightly sweeter than vinegar. Hot tea was piping hot and rice was perfect. Sushi was fresh and well put together.

    Crazy Boy Roll.

Sushi was fresh, filling, and delicious! Service was excellent! I saw our food server use a pastry tube for something and I should have asked him about it, (maybe the Wasabi) but I remain curious. Ambiance was better than expected. The weighty and impressive "Crazy Boy" roll had sliced jalapeños with a nice burn that we really enjoyed. I could end up craving this sushi even though we have a couple of good sushi places nearby. Overall, it is definitely one to visit when we find ourselves out in Temecula again, or maybe we'll just have to make a special trip.

We stopped by for some sushi on our way to wine country. I have a Hanna Sushi by my house and am a fan, so I wanted to try this location. The parking is easy and no wait at 1 pm on Saturday. The customer service was typical for a sushi spot, direct and to the point, no frills service. The place was a little dark and small, but it was clean and a good atmosphere. The sushi was very good. We ordered the Baja Roll, Amber Roll. The Amber roll was very good. The Baja roll was ok, nothing special. They were both very fresh and well made and it came down to my personal taste. I am satisfied with this location and would eat here again.

Ask the Community - Hana Sushi

Do you have gluten free soy sauce & gluten free roll options?

    Absolutely@ we do have both

Does the protein roll have imitation crab?

It does have imitation crab along with spicy tuna on the inside. You can pay an up charge for real crab if you don't like imitation crab.

    Do they do sushi platters?

Yes! There are smaller portions that serve 1-2 people or even party trays that can serve more people.

Seems like the new owner is serving smaller portions, I've noticed it's not crowded like it used to be. Thoughts? We eat there a lot, but the last month or so, I think they are going lower quality and quantity ?

Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

For some reason, I just never made it back here; probably because the Promenade area isn't usually along our route. Coming here tonight genuinely brightened my day. I had just finished a long shift and a commute, and all I wanted was a good, comforting meal. My nutritionist told me yesterday need to significantly increase my protein intake to help reduce muscle loss related to my autoimmune thyroid condition. KBBQ seemed like the perfect choice; lots of protein without a lot of unnecessary junk. On my way home, I stopped at two other KBBQ restaurants. Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband is currently deployed, so being a party of one isn't exactly a choice for me right now! Normally, dining alone doesn't bother me at all, but today it got to me. I was exhausted and simply wanted a comforting meal. Being turned away after waiting 25 minutes just because I by myself was the last thing I needed. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. You never know what someone may be going through, and a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger impact than you realize. His kindness truly lifted my spirits after a long and difficult day. I believe this is a small family-owned business, and they absolutely deserve the support of the community. Great food is easy to find; genuine hospitality is much harder to come by. I'll definitely be back!
