Second hair. I would love my $30 back.

I hate to have to post photos and rate any business low publicly, but I feel people should know what they are getting with this restaurant. Placed an order over the phone for lunch because the online ordering wouldn't allow this before 1:37pm for some reason. Received the order for pick up and tried my egg roll sitting in the car. There was a hair sticking out of the roll after 2 bites. I let them know and the lady was very apologetic. She offered another roll. Of course the next roll could also have a hair in it! I accepted a miso soup as substitute. Ate some of the take out the next day and I'm pretty sure I see an eyelash on my plate. I wasn't expecting some gourmet food here, as we all know what to usually expect with cheap Chinese. But they clearly don't wear hair nets here and this is unacceptable at this point. Just avoid and drive a few mins down the road for something else.

I stopped in for pickup but ordered through an app. The service at Hanako is fantastic. They offered me something to drink while I waited and had me take a seat. Joe is so friendly and chatted with for a minute. I had to wait because I decided to add to my order, but my food was ready when I got there. They have a large menu. It's Asian fusion since they have Chinese, and Japanese dishes. Lots of vegetarian options. I had the Age tofu which is one of my favorite dishes. It was soooo good. I was concerned about traveling home with it, but it was in great shape when I got home. The packed the sauce separately. I also had the vegetable and tofu stir fry with just broccoli. It was fresh and delicious. They do take out, eat in and they also deliver for a minimum of $18. They are located right near Lowers on Charlotte Hwy in the same shopping center with Showmars and Bojangles. I am so happy that they are so close to my house. I will definitely be back.

Foreground: Hanako Delicious Background: Chicken Teriyaki

Have eaten there a few times and found inconsistency with food and service. Went in at lunchtime last week, asked for a menu and whoever was there seemed to be bothered by my request. Recently went there for dinner and now would not go back. Entire Menu has price increase stickers over old prices , some areas blacked out. Saw a dust bin propped behind a booth, not appetizing. My tea cup was chipped. So no attention to detail which can make a big difference in overall dining experience Food was mediocre. My Hanako Delicious : not delicious! broccoli with shrimp, lobster, crab, in a brown sauce. Shrimp was very chewy, broccoli tasted bitter, 3 shrimp, one scallop, imitation crab to my taste, brown sauce was thin and not at all tasty in my opinion, wasn't sure any lobster was even present.. My dining mate said the chicken teriyaki was ok nothing special though. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and food was plated nicely and brought out hot. Overall a dimly lit restaurant, inconsistent food and service .

This was a neat little find. I do like "hole-in-the-wall" sushi places and this one hit the spot. My friend suggested it (I really need to get him on Yelp!) and so we stopped in here for a late lunch. We both ordered the sashimi special, which comes with the usual salad topped with ginger dressing (does it have to be so cold??) and a bowl of spicy egg drop soup (mushrooms??). But the main course was where it was at. As with so many sushi restaurants, a great presentation. Each piece of fish was individually set in a wooden boat, garnished with crab salad and a carved lemon. You have to look at the picture to see how well this chef did. Price is a little high, but it's totally worth it.

This dish is amazing and the sauce is really good, I always order hibachi shimp and beef, you have to try it!

It's a small restaurant, but well thought out. There are two private booths near the sushi bar on the side. I think they would be ideal for those more intimate dates, or for people hard of hearing, or for those who get easily distracted. The rest of the seating was either open booths, tables, or the bar. The menu had many delicious looking entrees and very well priced! I got the bento box...and I needed an extra stomach to fit it all in! To start off, my husband and I got the wonton looking "chips" with sweet and sour dip. Then we got salads and soup. My main course was hibachi shrimp, rice, California sushi roll, shumai, and shrimp and veggie tempura. That was just mine... They serve loose leaf tea in cast iron kettles...heavy...you will need two hands to pour. It's a new restaurant and yes, like all restaurants there are kinks to work out. We spent 1.5 hours here, the first 50 minutes waiting on the main entrees. However, we loved a slow dining experience that was well paced with the first course tiding us over. Our server was great and all the employees were hustling around and there was only one sushi chef for the entire restaurant. They seemed to handle the rush and stress well. My favorites were a bilingual receipt (Chinese/English) and a bilingual fortune cookie (Spanish/English). Our total bill was under $25 (w/o tip) and the food was very good! I'm not one to drive far and this is not close to my house, but I see me visiting this place again in the future...and often.

    Pad thai, looked good, but......

My ticket says her name was Nancy; she didn't introduce herself. I didn't like that she did not take orders from patrons in the order they arrived, she worked from the front. Since we were at the last table, others who came in after us placed their order while we just sat and waited. When she finally came to us, I asked about any specials. She showed that the poke bowls are $10. I got the ahi tuna one. It was very delicious. I saw a smoked peach old fashioned. It was ok. I guess the peach is smoked ahead of time and turned into a syrup, because my drink did not get smoked at all. Hubby bought a corona. Service of course was non existent because she was doing almost everything herself! I had to ask for more water on this 95+ degree day. Her busy ness is not her fault, that falls on management/scheduling. Tvs stay on sports. Looks like they have an upstairs space too. I can image they are packed for happy hour. I am rarely in this town, so I cannot say Ill be back. But I will recommend for others to go try!

I want to preface this review by saying that I am a sushi connoisseur. I've eaten sushi all over…read morethe world so I know good sushi. I had high expectations when I walked in with my husband. It had a Michelin 2025 sticker on the front door so I thought it would be amazing. I want to say that the service was excellent. Very attentive servers, very professional, very friendly. The service was 5-stars for sure. Next, the food. We started with the miso soup and ginger salad. Miso soup was bland and the ginger dressing on the salad was super bland. We ordered the crispy spicy tuna and the steamed shumai next. The crispy spicy tuna was weird. The first taste bud stimuli was fishy and the last thing you tasted was McDonald's hashbrowns. Also, the chopsticks were very cheap and when you picked up the piece it basically fell apart. The presentation for the steamed shumai was horrible. It was served in a bowl with the chili garlic sauce in a tiny bowl on the side. The pieces were wayyy too big to pick up with the chopsticks and for the mouth. But if you managed to get the thing in your mouth, it was super hot and basically burned your mouth. Like there was no option to take a bite it was either shove the whole thing in your mouth or not eat it at all. The rolls we ordered were the Mr Crabby, which was the only good thing we ordered. The Naruto, which had too many layers of cucumber wrapped around it and the pieces were mini. The villain, a $25 roll with caviar on top, but the caviar was so sparse, it could barely be seen with the naked eye. Rainbow roll was ok but again, the pieces were tiny. Every roll was flavorless and the price point was stupid. $122 plus tip for a bland lunch was retarded. Super disappointed.

Being from California, we did not think our sushi standards could be topped, but this place completely proved us wrong. Some of our favorites were the salmon belly, the red snapper sampler, the yellowtail, and the slam on hand rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. We also loved that they had Echigo beer, which is not easy to find and was a great addition to the meal. One thing that really stood out was how well balanced everything was. Nothing felt overwhelming or heavy, and every dish felt thoughtfully put together. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the rolls here. I could not recommend this place more. An amazing experience from start to finish.

I also liked how loud the overhead music was...but sadly, it was elevator music. Very dated. If it was something a bit more contemporary (metro lounge?), it would have been way nicer. Now, the food! I ordered their Doza Ramen, which looked spicy from the pictures...but I ended up with a very mild broth, with hardly any red chile sauce or spice to it at all. I even asked if they can add more chili and/or spice to it, and the waitress basically said that's not possible (What?!? Of course you can!!). Anyway, she said I can add Siracha sauce. (???) Guess she assumed this was the first time I had ramen lol?!? The Pork Chashu was nice and tender, but very small portion...and a tiny portion of ground pork (of beef?) and mushroom as well. Just skimpy toppings all around...yet this bowl was priced 18 bucks. I also hated how they didn't even bother to split open the egg. Also, I wasn't a fan of their super-thin noodles either. Just look at how unappetizing this bowl looked! So basically, this ramen struck out on several accounts. Possibly the weakest ramen I've had in a restaurant in years?? I managed to down at least one third of it though. Then this Sampler Tempura. While the portion of plentiful, I thought the batter was weak...and well, some of the veggie tempura just tasted BAD. Especially the Brussel Sprouts (which I normally love) had this sour taste to it? I was also disappointed that they didn't include Broccoli in the mix. I was only able to eat half of this. Just not that good. I just can't sugarcoat it. I was not into their ramen or this sampler tempura. Both too mild...very bland. Also...they charge you an additional dollar if you use credit card. Something I don't recall seeing on the menu. Given such high ratings from Yelp, I had high hopes for this place...but I left scratching my head. I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.

I ordered the sesame chicken dinner, wonton soup and an egg roll. The egg roll was soooooo small...super lint and little. I co my s from a place where one egg roll can be shared by two people. Thick and super stuffed. Forget that. It doesn't exist here. The mini egg roll was dry and you couldn't even tell what was in it. The wonton soup broth had a great flavor but the wontons were not fresh. They were gummy in a creepy kinda way. Frozen with freezer burn was my best guess. The sesame chicken was super super super OVERFRIED. Dry as a bone inside. This had clearly been pre fried and then fried again and dipped in a sticky sauce with weird texture. Kind of tasted like sesame chicken but the texture of the sauce and the dry chicken were disgusting. I spit it out. This place is a nicer version of Panda Express.
