Second hair. I would love my $30 back.
Celena S.

I hate to have to post photos and rate any business low publicly, but I feel people should know what they are getting with this restaurant. Placed an order over the phone for lunch because the online ordering wouldn't allow this before 1:37pm for some reason. Received the order for pick up and tried my egg roll sitting in the car. There was a hair sticking out of the roll after 2 bites. I let them know and the lady was very apologetic. She offered another roll. Of course the next roll could also have a hair in it! I accepted a miso soup as substitute. Ate some of the take out the next day and I'm pretty sure I see an eyelash on my plate. I wasn't expecting some gourmet food here, as we all know what to usually expect with cheap Chinese. But they clearly don't wear hair nets here and this is unacceptable at this point. Just avoid and drive a few mins down the road for something else.

I stopped in for pickup but ordered through an app. The service at Hanako is fantastic. They offered me something to drink while I waited and had me take a seat. Joe is so friendly and chatted with for a minute. I had to wait because I decided to add to my order, but my food was ready when I got there. They have a large menu. It's Asian fusion since they have Chinese, and Japanese dishes. Lots of vegetarian options. I had the Age tofu which is one of my favorite dishes. It was soooo good. I was concerned about traveling home with it, but it was in great shape when I got home. The packed the sauce separately. I also had the vegetable and tofu stir fry with just broccoli. It was fresh and delicious. They do take out, eat in and they also deliver for a minimum of $18. They are located right near Lowers on Charlotte Hwy in the same shopping center with Showmars and Bojangles. I am so happy that they are so close to my house. I will definitely be back.

Foreground: Hanako Delicious Background: Chicken Teriyaki

Have eaten there a few times and found inconsistency with food and service. Went in at lunchtime last week, asked for a menu and whoever was there seemed to be bothered by my request. Recently went there for dinner and now would not go back. Entire Menu has price increase stickers over old prices , some areas blacked out. Saw a dust bin propped behind a booth, not appetizing. My tea cup was chipped. So no attention to detail which can make a big difference in overall dining experience Food was mediocre. My Hanako Delicious : not delicious! broccoli with shrimp, lobster, crab, in a brown sauce. Shrimp was very chewy, broccoli tasted bitter, 3 shrimp, one scallop, imitation crab to my taste, brown sauce was thin and not at all tasty in my opinion, wasn't sure any lobster was even present.. My dining mate said the chicken teriyaki was ok nothing special though. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and food was plated nicely and brought out hot. Overall a dimly lit restaurant, inconsistent food and service .

This was a neat little find. I do like "hole-in-the-wall" sushi places and this one hit the spot. My friend suggested it (I really need to get him on Yelp!) and so we stopped in here for a late lunch. We both ordered the sashimi special, which comes with the usual salad topped with ginger dressing (does it have to be so cold??) and a bowl of spicy egg drop soup (mushrooms??). But the main course was where it was at. As with so many sushi restaurants, a great presentation. Each piece of fish was individually set in a wooden boat, garnished with crab salad and a carved lemon. You have to look at the picture to see how well this chef did. Price is a little high, but it's totally worth it.

This dish is amazing and the sauce is really good, I always order hibachi shimp and beef, you have to try it!

It's a small restaurant, but well thought out. There are two private booths near the sushi bar on the side. I think they would be ideal for those more intimate dates, or for people hard of hearing, or for those who get easily distracted. The rest of the seating was either open booths, tables, or the bar. The menu had many delicious looking entrees and very well priced! I got the bento box...and I needed an extra stomach to fit it all in! To start off, my husband and I got the wonton looking "chips" with sweet and sour dip. Then we got salads and soup. My main course was hibachi shrimp, rice, California sushi roll, shumai, and shrimp and veggie tempura. That was just mine... They serve loose leaf tea in cast iron kettles...heavy...you will need two hands to pour. It's a new restaurant and yes, like all restaurants there are kinks to work out. We spent 1.5 hours here, the first 50 minutes waiting on the main entrees. However, we loved a slow dining experience that was well paced with the first course tiding us over. Our server was great and all the employees were hustling around and there was only one sushi chef for the entire restaurant. They seemed to handle the rush and stress well. My favorites were a bilingual receipt (Chinese/English) and a bilingual fortune cookie (Spanish/English). Our total bill was under $25 (w/o tip) and the food was very good! I'm not one to drive far and this is not close to my house, but I see me visiting this place again in the future...and often.

Pad thai, looked good, but......

Still, overall the food itself was enjoyable, and the view from the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the service left a very disappointing impression. Since gratuity is automatically included in the bill, it honestly felt like there was very little interest in treating guests with care or attention. The overall atmosphere from the staff made us feel less like welcomed guests and more like people they wanted to serve as quickly as possible and move out. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and I politely asked our server if it would be possible to move us to another table if one became available. I completely understand that on a busy Saturday evening nothing can be guaranteed, and I was never asking anyone to be rushed out or removed from their table. However, there were several opportunities where it realistically could have happened. The first couple of times, the available tables were assigned to other servers, and it seemed like our waiter simply did not want to transfer us because another server would then take over the table. Later on, he told us twice that he would try to move us, but nothing ever happened. At that point in the evening there were no reservations left, only walk-ins, and all it would have taken was a quick conversation with the hostess asking her not to immediately seat the next guests at the newly available table so we could move there instead. I understand many people celebrate birthdays, and I know restaurants get busy, especially on weekends. But considering we made a reservation and politely asked in advance, it really felt like no effort was made at all. The issue was not that they could not accommodate us -- it was that nobody seemed to care enough to even try.

Pretty good size shopping plaza and it's a standalone building. Don't have to walk thru the plaza dealing with people. Park and walk right in. For me, service is what made it just an OK experience. It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely
