Where to even start when you are so thrilled with the service you've received. Amy, thank you... we had planned on hitting multiple places for estimates and my anxiety went away the moment you started speaking with me. Drew then came into the lobby and you guys asked if I took the check and I said "no.' Drew shared his wisdom on dealing with insurance companies and you Amy, took a tour.of the damage of our CX--5. You saw things I did not see, nor did progressive even catch. All the way down to the damage of the tires I never noticed. We went from an approximate estimate check from progressive of $3800 to almost, if not more than $10k in damage. Drew, thank you for telling me where to spend the money and where I could save, (even got money back into my pocket.) I needed to replace the passenger side mirror of a 2013 Mercedes C Class. It was involved in a minor accident, but there was enough damage to crack the mirror and leave it useless. I called the dealership and got a quote for $1400 for parts and $300 for labor. I looked on Yelp and found Hance Paint & Body Service. They had a lot of good reviews so I decided to make an appointment with them. I went there and met the owner, Rob. He looked over my car and gave me the same quote for parts, $1400, because he has to order directly through the dealership. But then he sat down with me and did some research online. He gave me a list of websites where I could order the parts from and bring them to him. So that is what I did and now the mirror is brand new. In the end I paid around $600 for parts and Rob charged $100 for labor. And these were not used parts. They were brand new OEM parts from an actual Mercedes dealership in other parts of the U.S. It was just cheaper online from the websites that Rob knew about. He didn't have to go through all the time and trouble looking up parts on the website for me, but he did. Very honest and friendly Hopefully I won't be needing any more body work on my car, but at least I know I can go here to see Rob if need be. read more

The shining light in this place is Bobby, but unfortunately he seems to be swimming in mediocrity. Note that this body shop does not do any mechanical work in-house. Unless you need light cosmetic-only paint work, I strongly recommend you look for a full-service shop that can get the entire job done in-house. This shop tried to return my vehicle to me unrepaired with suspension rattles and the front wheel in the wrong place in the wheel well. I decided to take my car to my personal mechanic to have him finish the job. We then found numerous oversights, including loose bumper and fender, missing screws, and bent suspension control arms... After talking to the owner Lorraine, she said, "well those screws must not have been in there when the car came in, and you know those parts cost money - it adds up". You're right - it adds up to you doing incomplete work, which prompted me to take time to write this review and take my car elsewhere to finish the job. They "didn't notice" that the front wheel was entirely in the wrong place, even after supposedly doing an alignment. Then they wanted to sub out the suspension repair to some no-name muffler shop. After a huge runaround and a month later, I have a relatively minor front-end collision repaired. I shudder to think what would have happened if I was a typical sucker who didn't know anything about cars. Lorraine (owner), if you've read this far, please go pick up a copy of "Customers For Life" by Carl Sewell and read it - I promise it will help you prevent these issues. read more

Dusted off my old yelp account and am writing my first ever Yelp review because Hance Paint & Body Service was just that awesome! Rear-ended someone recently and my front end was pushed in to the point where I couldn't open my hood anymore, plus my grill completely fell off of my car. I was going to pay out of pocket and I had taken my car to a couple other places in town and had been quoted anywhere from 275-500 just to get my car fixed to the point that my hood would open. I rolled into Hance Paint & Body Service to get an estimate and told Rob (the manager/VP) that since my car was really old (...1997), that I was probably going to get a new car soon anyway and just needed a functional fix. He went into the back, grabbed some tools...and wait for it... ...HE...FIXED...IT...HIMSELF. He adjusted the frame and reattached my grill. Hood opened/closed and I no longer looked like a hobo driving without a grill on my car. It cost me $20. The 5 stars is more for the service, honesty, and willingness to help out a customer himself than it is for the price (which, given all the trouble I've been through in the last couple of weeks...was more than a steal). Hance was recommended to me by my boss who had some work done there on his car. I met with rob about my brand new 2014 FRS, he was so honest about the amount it would cost, just extremely straight forward. And I hate to say it but as a female you are terrified to deal with car issues because men tend to just walk all over you because you know either nothing or very little. Rob was incredible and I would suggest him to any one who has car issues. He kept me up to date about every thing with my car repairs and let me know exactly what I should expect. Wow! I am moved to write about my great experience at Hance Paint & Autobody. I've taken my BMW into Hance many times (what can I say...sometimes I think I have an imaginary bulls eye on my car). They are always so professional and so mindful of cost to me. With this most recent experience, they've taken their customer service to a whole new level (I didn't think that was possible). They've implemented a text message system that notifies me of the repair progress. I like that and really like that I can reply to the texts with questions and they respond back, as opposed to the text messages not being able to be replied to. What moves me to write this review was that Jon Dalton knocked it out of the park for me. He has emailed the inspector and claims representative, copying me, very detailed reports on internal and external damage to my car and really fought for me to have all damage related to the accident covered by the insurance company. He's taken the time to get the inspector on the phone and argue each point. This careful analysis and effort by Jon is exemplary and exactly the reason why I will always do business with and refer business to Hance on McKinney Avenue. I trust them and trust is everything! Some people have left one-star reviews without even having any work done here, so I think it's fair that I leave a five-star review even though I also had the work done elsewhere. And here's why: My daughter in Dallas scraped a concrete post in a parking garage, damaging the right front fender and the passenger door, making it difficult to open or close the door. She brought it to Hance Paint & Body for an estimate, and while she was there they bent the fender out so the door would open and close normally, for no charge. I ended up having her drive the car to Austin where I live so my regular body man and mechanic could repair that damage while doing some other work as well. (And so she could borrow one of our cars during the repair rather than rent a car in Dallas.) Although we didn't use Hance, my daughter really appreciated the fact that they made the door usable again for free. So here's five stars for great customer service. read more

Great customer service and quality of work performed. Hance responded quickly (within hours) to my online inquiry and I was at the shop same day. They performed an estimate for repairs and we set a date to bring the car in. I had relatively minor dent repair work done, but the car was ready to be picked up the same day that I dropped it off for repairs and the work was excellent. I interacted with 3 different staff members during my visits, and all 3 were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This was my first time using Hance and I will certainly return for any future repair work - I can't recommend them enough. Also, their prices are very reasonable. I emailed photos to Hance and got a fairly quick response from Rob the General Manager and VP with a decent estimate, asking if I could bring it by for a real inspection to get a more formal quote whenever it suits me. After checking around a few other shops I decided to go with Hance as it was the most convenient location to me and the reviews here on yelp indicated a very professional crew. Upon arriving Rob looked my car over and gave me a very detail explanation of all the work that would be necessary (it was a decent sized scratch I was fixing on the passenger side) and the formal quote wasn't far off of his estimate. The timing worked out as it was expected to need a week and I was going to be out of town for that long. I received email updates as requested by the end of the week with progress reports. Everything went smoothly and nothing went over the predetermined estimate. Hance was recommended to me by a mechanic in Dallas. I received a quote for some repair to my 2011 Honda CR-V. The owner, Rob, was very customer focused, provided a quote, gave great advise. I am not doing the minor repair due to the age of the vehicle. However, had the car be three years or less, I would certainly have had them do it. I cannot speak to the timeliness or quality of the work, but I have the highest praise for the way I was treated and the info I was provided to make my decision. Service and staff are absolutely top notch. Somebody sideswiped my car without proper contact info and left a huge mark on my car. I took it to Hance and Stan said he could take care of it immediately. He made it look brand new in under 3 minutes. 4.5 stars After a very frustrating experience with a well-known national repair shop, I decided to branch out and find a better, local alternative. With all of the great reviews, I decided to give Hance a try and am glad I did. They did a great job repairing my car - very pleased with the final results. I am even more pleased with their handling of the insurance issues throughout the entire process. It is so wonderful to have someone proactively working with the insurance company instead of asking you to be the middleman. There is an Enterprise location right down the street that works with this shop often, so it's ridiculously easy to get a pickup and drop-off for a rental. I took off 1 star because communication could be improved to make this a truly excellent experience. The scheduling process is unique in the sense that instead of you calling and scheduling an appointment, they will take your information and call you when there is an immediate opening at the shop. I have an inflexible work schedule, often working from 7:00am until 5-7pm on weekdays. I need some advance notice to ask someone to cover for me when I have to step out; however, you only get a call when they are ready and waiting for you to bring your vehicle in. I felt a bit pressured (I don't want to keep someone waiting several days), and I had to frantically schedule a rental reservation (which had to be approved and coordinated by the adjuster first). While Hance does offer a great e-mail system that sends you updates on your vehicle's status, they are generic, such as "Stage: Disassembly" with an expected date that the vehicle will be completed. One of the notifications stated that additional damage was found and the insurance company was being contacted. It would have been great to have received a call or e-mail about what damage was found on the vehicle and what repairs were required. Even when I picked up my car upon completion, I was not told this information; rather, I was handed an itemized bill and that was it. I didn't pay for the repairs, but it still would be nice to have a brief rundown of what happened with the vehicle. Maybe my mechanic spoils me? Who knows! All in all, I am very happy with my experience at Hance and they did a fabulous job on my car. Just a few minor customer service tweaks would make this a truly fantastic experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hance to other friends or family. read more

Before dropping off my 370z at Hance, I was a little apprehensive leaving my car for repair anywhere but a Nissan dealership. But after driving by this place everyday on my way home from work for the past 7 months, I've been able to keep track of their repair turnovers by watching the progress of the cars parked out front. After seeing awesome results on cars much nicer than mine, I figured they wouldn't have any trouble fixing body damage to a Nissan. My biggest concern was how close they would be able to match color to the stock pearl white of the car. That obviously wasn't a problem at all, as it came out perfect. I also asked them to fix my headlights, which have fallen victim to oxidation, in which they said they could fix them for $100 bucks. When I arrived to pick up my car, Rob took me out front to show me the work they did on the headlights. They looked much, much better than they did before, but because "they couldn't fix them up to standard," he didn't charge me for the work they did to them (you can sort of see a before and after in the photo). Maybe that's why the manager's name is Rob, because it was like I robbed him for $100. Collision repair is always a nightmare, but these guys do an awesome job, virtually stress-free. I'll also add that I read the review left by "Ryan H." and felt a little concerned about taking my car to Hance, but I clicked on his profile and saw that pretty much ALL of his reviews are only 1 or 2 stars. read more

Hance Uptown Collision - 370z Before/After - Body Shops Near Me - Plano, Texas

If I could give them 10 STARS, I would!!!! I accidentally backed into a concrete pillar in a parking garage and did a pretty good number on the rear of my Escalade. It damaged not only the bumper, but dented and creased the lift gate. Sigh.... this was gonna be expensive and it was going to come out of my pocket :( Just to get the very "worst" case scenario, I went to Sewell Collision first. Out the guy came with a 3 page list of necessary parts and repairs. The tally? $3600 with a LIKELY extra $775 of unseen damage that was suspected. I was in total shock :((( Sure, an independent body shop would be less but not a whole lot, right? WRONG! I took to Yelp for a little advice on a decent and honest body shop and also near where I live because I was trying to avoid getting a rental car. Hance had great reviews and was only 3 miles away... I walked in and asked for "Rob" per the reviews. We walked over to my car and he looked it over. He said I needed the whole bumper replaced (which I already knew was the case) and he asked if perhaps I'd like to just have the lift gate buffed out instead of removing the whole thing, repairing it, and repainting it so I could save some money. I said no lets just get it all done right. I appreciated his suggestion though... Then we went to his office where he started to price the parts for the repairs. While he was putting together my estimate, he told me that he can get genuine parts directly from GM and that they will price match AFTERMARKET parts! Music to my ears :))) I mean wouldn't a shop normally charge you the "genuine parts" price and put aftermarket on your car so they can line their pockets?? I was feeling hopeful for the first time since the mishap. After a few minutes, Rob gave me an estimate for $1900... almost HALF of what I was quoted at Cadillac.... He penciled me in for a 3 day repair and I went on my merry way. On the 3rd day Rob called and said he found a problem with my backup sensor that he had not anticipated. I knew there was an issue because of the error message on my dash but I thought it just needed resetting. He said the part would be about $200 but they'd try to fix it and needed one more day. I called the next day and my car was ready to be picked up. Rob said that the car looked great and he was able to repair the sensor issue (which btw, was NOT in the original estimate). My car looked absolutely brand new and they returned it spotless! They did a perfect job and it looked amazing! Aaaaand the bill was the EXACT amount originally estimated... Unheard of, right? I was so, so, so, thrilled with this shop, the prices, the service, the EVERYTHING! And whoever had a problem with Michelle must have had their own attitude because she was a pleasure to deal with too :) Kudos to this body shop.... When I self-administered a nice scrape/dent to the side of my Mini {turns out it can't always fit in any parking spot!}, I was dreading having to complete the punishment by going through the hassle of getting it fixed. Hance made all that go away. They were awesome! From the easy estimate, where they explained clearly what needed to be fixed and how long it would take, to the smooth repair process, I was taken care of every step of the way. I received regular updates by email on the status of my car and when it was ready to be picked up, they charged me the exact amount they had estimated at the beginning. My experience was less than steller which seems to be the reviews on all the several websites that Rob appears to own himself . My car was not badly damaged since I was stopped and just starting up when a traffic light changed and someone tried to cross over in front of me to get to the far left lane. I needed a new front bumper and a fog light.I chose Hance simply because of it being in my neighborhood. After a bit of talking, he suggested that I might want to save money by using my own bumper instead of getting a new one. He said it would look good - not perfect - and I was fine with that. The original estimate was around $1000 and I had received the check. I am in my early 80's so convenience to drop and pick up were important to me. He circled a $400 charge on the estimate. - eliminating the new parts. I was pleased and impressed that he was offering to save me some money. The day after I dropped it off, I was called that it was ready. My Lexus RX350 was older but had only 49,000 miles and had always been garaged. A friend took me over to get it but we were dismayed to see that the black marks were no longer there but the bumper was still damaged and not repaired or prepared by painting. I understood that the repair was $400 and the $519 parts would be eliminated. Nothing else was marked off the estimate. Not once was I called to be told that they would not be finishing the car. Rob was not there when it was dropped off or picked up - only a new guy who said that he had just started working there that week, but he was told not to do anything else to it. Rob just obviously changed his mind about the repair and paint, and making it look good, but he never called to tell me that. And he was gone when I came to pick up my car. I had expected to be called and told an added cost to do a bit of touch up painting...I was not happy. The next morning I went back to talk to him but again he had just left. He came back and surprisingly gave me my money back without my asking. I was hoping to have it fixed and to be through in two days but, that would have been another $900 - more than the original estimate. What could I say??? I didn't lose money but time and patience. I had to take it to someone else I had used before but much farther away and get it done right. So much for the neighborhood.. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time now. I was rear ended at a light near Uptown and needed a convenient and quality shop to take my car for repair. Took it to Hance by recommendation of a friend and couldn't have been more pleased with overall process. They repaired my damages in no time, explaining the process, timeline, and managed my expectations from an insurance standpoint. Staff was really accommodating and when I got my car back, it was clean and sparkled like new. Hance had also put in the extra effort to fix up some other scrapes and dents around the edges of my car that weren't even involved in the accident and would have cost me big time to get these fixed at another place. I took my Jeep XJ Sport 4x4 to Hance Paint & Body after it had been keyed on the driver's side from front to rear by some punk. Rob explained to me in detail the process that they would take to repair and repaint the area that was keyed. I received my Jeep back from Hance before their promised scheduled date, and the repair was very well done. The new paint was the right shade of black, and it was blended perfectly with the rest of the Jeep. Come to find out I needed some work done on the drivers door of my new car to cover a large, deep scratch that went down to the metal. (As you can imagine, I was not pleased) In the past when I needed bodyshop work done on previous cars, I went to a branded, nation-wide bodyshop whose name will not be mentioned, but might rhyme with Blervice Ping. That is, until the last time when the repair paintwork they did was so wavy and orangepeeled it looked like their technician just used a can of spraypaint and called it a day. Then, after I called them out on it, they tried to tell me I was exaggerating and they didn't see anything wrong and refused to re-do the work. So as you can imagine when I needed work done this time around, I sought out someone else. Various searches brought me to Hance's, so I figured I'd give them a shot. And I could not be happier. They were courteous and fast. They worked with my insurance without me having to lift a finger. They remembered the little details even though it was two weeks between estimate and checking my car in to have the work done. They were done ahead of schedule, even though they had to order an extra part.... Just top notch service. And the paint? You can't tell anything ever happened. It's that good. No trace of anything ever being done. It is as smooth and glossy as the day it came out of the factory. Thanks to Amy, and all the crew at Hance's. You made a new fan.
