These folks are the worst you could find.If you have a beater or some crap car they would still make it look like crap. My car had 3 dents in front fender and some strut damage ,and they are select for state farm so thats where my car ended up....they had the car from October to April and still couldnt paint it the correct way....i kept state farm office in the loop the whole time and they kept saying give them another chance all they kept doing was adding paint on top of the older paint it was crazy bad.Told State Farm i was taking it some where else and they said fine...new shop measured paint on fender and it was five times thicker than factory paint...sheeesh...heres the kicker State Farm paid those nitwits over at sheermetal and the other place too ,so now what was minor fender damage turned out to be 16k damage on carfax which hurts the value of my car and no one will correct it....state farm said they have to pay those idiots no matter what....well guess what? after forty years with State Farm im gone these two deserve each other...... We got our car repaired here from a recommendation for our hit and run. The people where super friendly and fast and had the vehicle done on time. When the vehicle was the there was some issue with insurance and we had to wait till over the weekend to pick it up. They were really friendly and told us the would hold it for us free is storage fees. When we picked up the vehicle the washed it. Which we are super thankful for because it was much needed. They also cleaned out the inside and left a sweet thank you note and left the car freshener that I now want in my car. The color of our car is not a common color and we were worried how they were going to color match it to the rest of the vehicle but they did a great job coloring matching it. I'm pretty speechless with the service I've received here, so I will attempt to tell you why I believe CARSTAR is the best body shop in the DFW area. If you are taking your car anywhere else...you are wasting your time...literally. I got rear ended a little over a month ago and the team at CARSTAR took care of me from the day I got the estimate to the day I picked up the car. The team I dealt with (Karla, Valerie, Veronica, Matt) were all super professional. I dropped my car off and I even got a ride to the car rental place to pick up a rental. It was smooth sailing the whole way. I would get calls throughout the week on the status of my car (I.e. disassemble, insurance authorization, assembly/the fix, the wash, and QC). I needed my car to drive out of town for the weekend and CARSTAR was able to get me in my car by noon on Friday which is exactly what I requested. My car was returned to me cleaner than a whistle and the repair work was phenomenal. Also, to top it all off, I received a beautiful rose for choosing CARSTAR. Would NOT recommend coming here. Brought car in to be looked at, after running over small roll of carpet on a Dallas freeway. Wanted to make sure vehicle was not damaged since I was from out of town visiting, 2 plastic grills snapped in to front fender were loose. Car was very drive-able and you couldn't see any damage. You would think as being a customer, body shop would make an attempt to contact you about your vehicle! Not 1 attempt was ever made to update me. Long story short, they totaled my vehicle. Typical scam! Insurance paid me and I reused every part, had to buy alot of fastners and screws since body shop tore up. Bought a new rear bumper since previous owner had 2 minor rips in bumper. Had nothing to do with my claim. What really makes me mad is it workers vandalized my car at their body shop. Taken was about $25-35 dollar of change I keep in my ash tray, 2 brand new combination locks that I just purchased in the package were gone. Side door pockets and glove box gone thru, even 4 chrome air valve caps taken. This was brought to their attention and person said this doesn't sound like their workers. Nothing was done by Carstar. Highly recommend going to a trust worthy body shop and one that keeps their customers updated. read more

SheerMetal CarStar did a fantastic job on my Ford Expedition. We had a fender bender and was referred to SheerMetal CarStar from a friend. They were able to get schedule me to come in and helped me get into a rental car. They let me know it would take about 2 weeks once they assessed the damage. My car was in the shop for a little over three weeks. They kept me updated the whole way through and let me know what parts they were waiting on to finish my repairs. I took my car in to repair my rocker panel. I was told it would be a couple of days to complete the repair. I dropped the car off on a Wednesday morning before work. I received a call on Friday morning notifying me that the car would be ready for pick up after 3 p.m. Upon my arrival I see that my car has been washed, vacuumed, floor mats cleaned, windows cleaned. Confirmed that they used OEM parts and I could not tell that the car was ever repaired. To make this experience even better, they filled in some small scratches with touch up paint and wrote a nice thank you card. I will be back and recommend everyone to them. read more

I was pretty disappointed overall in my experience here. I will start with the good, and the reason I gave this place even two stars. First of all, even though I felt like I was getting the run around quite a bit, Sergio and his team are all very friendly and at the very least seem to try to put the customer first. Also, the actual paint work done on my car was *mostly* pretty good. You can certainly do much worse in that regard. Now for the not-so-good. So I brought my car in for three reasons: 1. door dent repair from when I got hit in a parking lot (insurance covered), 2. getting the front bumper repainted after 6+ years of bug etching and rock chips accumulated (paid out of pocket), 3. getting some curb rash on my wheels repaired. The bumper repair was mostly fine, except that I had asked Sergio if they could try to re-align the bumper when they removed and repainted it, since there were a couple larger than normal panel gaps. They did not. I am mostly willing to look past that since I think that may be the result of chassis damage and bumper damage. So now for the real problems (most of which . 1. The paint color was not matched properly. They blended it fairly well with most of the car, but they did not repaint the A-pillar or the side-view mirror above my dented door, and it certainly shows in certain lighting (especially fluorescent light). I asked them to fix it, and they said they didn't think it was a big deal, but they would try to get in contact with the insurance adjuster to get him to approve more repairs... This was where they really gave me the run around. I called them several times over the course of several weeks, and was just repeatedly told that they never heard back from their insurance contact. Eventually I decided it wasn't worth anymore effort and let it go. 2. The window molding above the dented door was loose and kept coming off/sticking out. I took it back to be fixed twice, and each time they claimed to fix it with make-shift fixes, and each time it came off again until finally they bought a new trim piece. It's now better, but still does not look as good as from the factory (sticks up a bit), plus they scratched my paint and another part of my window trim when installing it. 3. Their buffing skills leave something to be desired. They left holograms and swirls all over my car (or at least the parts of the car that they repainted), but thankfully my detailer (Scott Wax) is a pro and was able to fix that all up without too much extra cost. 4. The repaired door no longer closes as well as it did before the body work. On Lexuses, the doors all fit so amazingly perfectly from the factory that they literally can fall securely shut after being cracked open just a few inches. This no longer happens on my driver's door... It's possible that this would have been a problem with any shop, however, and they could not prevent it very easily. 5. I mentioned getting some wheels repaired. Firstly, their price for this was slightly higher than most, but I was willing to deal since I wanted to get everything done in one place. My main complaint here (relatively minor, but worth noting) is that they lost the valve stem covers for ALL three wheels that I got repaired. That's about ~$10 for the Lexus covers. And they damaged the valve stem in some way on one of the wheels which was causing a leak (that Discount Tire was able to repair easily, but still an annoyance). That is a long-winded explanation of a lot of minor[ish] problems, but they all added up to a lot of annoyance for me. For the price I paid, I expect a little more. read more

The work took a lot longer than expected (which is understandable because it was storm season and we had quite a few nasty hail storms). Giving them 4 stars because I had quite a few hiccups while they had my car and during the couple weeks after I got it back. I had my vehicle repaired at a different body shop ONLY because of insurance policy requirements, however the work done at the other body shop was subpar so I called SheerMetal to ask if they would look at the repairs done to my car just so I would have some knowledge of what I needed to go back to my repair shop with and have done, I was told by the very helpful receptionist at SheerMetal to bring my car by anytime..... I got to SheerMetal and within 5 mins had a specialist come out to look at my car and to make sure he had it all covered as there was just something off with the paint job done on my car he had another gentleman come out to make sure they were all on the same page! I was told what needed to be done and they spent at least 15 mins with me! I never once mentioned who originally did the repairs on my car nor did they ask, it was all about just making sure the car was repaired correctly! I was able to go back to my body shop chosen for me and tell them what needed to be done.... guess what, it got done and looks great, so A BIG THANK YOU TO SHEERMETAL for your help!!! The repairs on my car are so perfect I can't stop looking at it! I have never seen such perfect work. I could never have asked for more. The paint matches perfectly, the replacement parts fit together just like the original ones. No squeeks or rattles. The customer service was caring, reassuring and called every couple of days to keep me updated on the progress. They have a very nice shop and everyone I came in contact with was friendly, very reassuring and professional. When you are there they offer you snacks and sodas or bottled water. They even put a hand written thank you card in my car. My 10 year old car is refurbished! It sounds crazy but sometimes bad things can turn out to be great! Thanks to everyone at Car Star for such beautiful work and keeping the car from being totaled by working with the insurance appraiser on cost! (After someone ran into me and 3 other cars going 85 mph I was beside myself because I own a 10 year old Honda Civic that has low mileage and had never been in an accident prior to this. I am retired and am living off of social security and terrified that my car would be deemed a total loss. The wonderful people at Car Star worked closely with my insurance agent and were able to fix it within the insurance companies parameters. I have been a so call V I P for 3 years. But my car sat there for four months getting towed around with out telling me. They tried to triple charge us for the tow. Then he said he was going to work with us because for the first time insurance was fighting us on it. Then to find out today the reason why they were fighting us is because owner told them that the reason my car was not running was not from the wreak but they only do body work. So my ex boyfriend went to talk to him about it and got into it because the owner said that there job is to side with the insurance company because that is how they get paid. Then after my case was closed he let the insurance company come and let so guy do test and write a report when it was all over. And never called us to ask if it's ok. He made my life a nightmare. I have had my car repaired a handful of times through the years and these guys are hands down the best. The WORST. They had car for 3 weeks with zero updates or ETR. When they did call to say it was repaired and ready, I was out of town and couldn't get the car. Arranged to pick it up 2 days later and arrived to find out that the car "repairs" had actually never been looked it, were incomplete and obvious with the naked eye. Said it would be 2-3 more days. After taking my car I only received one call from them the whole month and a week they had my car (which went from replacing the fender and tire to the whole suspension), when they called they told me an employee backed into my car and never got a full apology just a "we'll fix it free of charge" (like really?!) and when I asked for pictures never received any, I had to call so many times to get updates to figure out what was done with my car and each time they would say I needed to go sign something or they needed more money and I needed to go in but I WOULD HAVE TO CALL when they told me they would constantly update me which they did not, I got so many different dates for when it would be done and I am a pretty reasonable person who gives the benefit of the doubt but this was ridiculous and would not recommend to anyone, I chose this place because of the reviews here and I though the flower and card looked cute at the end but not worth it! read more
