A real Mom-and-Pop restaurant. Has maybe half a dozen tables, parking right out front. LOUD music. Greeted warmly by hostess, served water and barley tea (yum). Chose Korean noodles with pork. Served two banchan. Noodles served hot, in a delicious sauce. Overall quite good, but THAT MUSIC IS LOUD. Take off half a star for the loud music.

My chicken bibimbab was good. The egg over easy was too cooked. The food was decent. My brother said his bulgulgi bibimbab was good. And my mom's galbitang soup was very good.she was able to finish it and wanted more.

Very small place and authentic Korean food! They started off with serving us a cup of tea. Once we ordered, our food came out right away - within 10 mins. Food was delicious. We had so much food leftover and will be eating it tomorrow for lunch!

Now essentially a fixture on 46 in Rockaway, Hancock has been consistently serving homestyle, prideful, soulful Korean food for more than three years. The tightknit front of house is happy to welcome you in and share seemingly unlimited portions of briny, appetite-whetting banchan, along with a huge menu of classics. They're happy to help tentative guests pick something that'll be unintimidating. The hypercasual dining room might be called perfunctory, but it reflects a desire to serve down-to-earth, yet satisfying dishes. Perfect for a weeknight where you don't have the energy to "go out on the town", or for takeout or meal delivery.

First thank you to the owner Miss Young for an amazing dinner and conversation. The food was absolutely fantastic! Small little cozy restaurant but it's all about the service and food. Highly recommended for authentic Korean food . God bless !

Came for dinner and tried a bunch of different dishes and really enjoyed everything! Service was very attentive and the food came out quickly. Also really enjoyed the tea they served with the meal!

Came here on a Saturday night. Was in the mood for Korean food and found this place via Yelp and Google. There was a slight wait when I got there but the workers there were very accommodating and set a table for me and my friend until another table was open. The place has a mom and pop restaurant vibe to the place, small and cozy. Got the galbi prime beef rib ($31.95) to start which was solid. And for my main, I got the beef tofu soup ($16.95) which was okay. There was a small hiccup in with my order, they brought out chicken tofu soup instead of the beef tofu soup but they fixed my order. * parking on premise * good service

The crab marinade was REALLY yummy and the flesh was nice and jello like. Absolutely perfect. I wish rice was complementary because it's so glld to have extra rice with your ganjang gejang which can get salty. Menu included several lunch specials and many familiar dishes. I went with pork shoulder. But first, banchan: this is a must for me, and Keo Ku shone. I was thrilled to see a full array of small plates, and they were great: bean sprouts, kimchi, black beans ... I was in nirvana. The main dish was superb, tasty and hot, served with a nice helping of rice, plus a glass noddle salad and a couple of fritters. I am not an expert, but I know what I like, and I love Korean food. For many years I lived in Queens (NYC) and was surrounded by a countless number of Korean restaurants; Keo Ku would fit right in; it is as good as any one of those I knew. The ambiance was relaxed and comfy, my hosts were friendly, and I completely enjoyed my meal. I will be back, and I highly recommend Keo Ku.

I stopped…read moreby for lunch with my top-tier chum, a native of the Kingdom of Sussex who has been here before and has spoken highly of it. I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Only complaint about the setting is that every time someone went in or out, a rush of cold air would enter. Try not to sit too close to the door. As far as the food, daughter and I just ordered soon dubu (soft tofu stew) and ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes). We're Korean so flavor profile wise, it seemed to cater to non Korean palates. The soon dubu was not spicy and had too much of a sesame oil flavor and the ddukbokki was sweet with no spiciness at all. I think if you are non Korean, the seasoning was good and the food flavorful, just not the flavors we were expecting. Also, although the menu makes it seem like you have to pay for the banchan (appetizers), we did not, it came with the staple kimchee, and a couple other dishes. Not sure why they had prices on the menu unless they charge for refills? They also gave us this yummy ice cream bite for dessert which is usually unheard of in Korean restaurants. Having said all this, I do want to recommend this place, it was a nice local restaurant to get some Asian dishes with a great waitstaff.

If you check out my posts, we love Korean BBQ. Unfortunately, the meats were all under seasoned. The pork belly was really bland, I tired dipping into the sauces but even that couldn't enhance the taste. My son loves egg soufflé and if you see the picture, this does not compare to the egg soufflés we've been to. Unfortunately, even the kids had a literal bad taste in their mouth. The cooking area was small and the heat not strong enough that after cooking the first 6 half strips of thinly sliced pork belly, we had to wait 7 minutes for the next batch to cook. Yeah, the place does look very deserted but picks up after 7-7:30 pm. Reading other reviews, I'm glad that some people find the place great but for Korean style BBQ and meat flavor, they totally missed the mark. You can definitely improve a lot on this.

Honestly it was refreshing to get good service that felt real. So the beef Ttukbaegi bulgogi, I thoroughly enjoyed, a lot of beef and well flavored and not an overkill of veggies. But would loved some more mushrooms though. The sauce/stew itself was really good, I keep drink it and pouring over my rice. I found the rice okay, but definitely jasmine over hard boiled rice preferred. I liked side salad and wish I had more, it had a-bit of spiced edge and was better than the typical ginger dressing you get. The bubble tea was perfect, not overly sweet and generous on the size of it, but definitely would do better in another glass since straw could not reach the boba pops well enough. another note, always appreciate a place that gives you large glass to refill your water.
