Good group spot with marina views for appetizers & drinks. Ask for the captains tray with shrimp or fish à la plancha style and a mango cart michelada. Steep prices but I suppose the views and vibe are worth it. Food: tasty except for the coleslaw. We got the captains tray but didn't want everything fried. Our server recommended we do one thing à la plancha style (grilled on flat top), which is a great recc. Comes with bread, fries and coleslaw. Slaw was tasteless :/ Service: excellent. Xavier was out server. Prices: $65 for a tray of fried food seems steep and Micheladas were $13. Vibes: lots of light and seating with marina views. Patio has wind shields so it's comfortable. A group sharing the trays and having drinks seems more of the vibe, but we will come back to try the meals. TVs with sports and a bar inside. Parking: large lot Keeping on the list for a casual lunch spot or place to catch a game.

We asked for extra salsa and got a lot!

Their why not Wednesday deal was great! It's an extension of taco Tuesday and we got two taco trios. Great portion size! The thing that sucked was their table and all the menus were super sticky. Gross! It's like someone spilled soda or a slushy all over everything and they didn't clean it up. Service could've been better since the place was pretty empty. The food was good though! Some of the tacos were better than others - I recommend the ahi for sure.

Disappointing. We were acknowledged far better by the host than by our server Dusty. We had a family dinner of 12 people. We did not receive good service. But they charge 18% TIP for groups of 8 or more. The server Dusty started taking our orders and we inquired about splitting the bill for 3 checks. Dusty mumbles something like "[Would've been nice to do that first]". Yes Dusty. You're correct. It would definitely have made sense if you simply asked the party of 12 if you needed to split the bill. Aside from an uncomfortable start the food was pretty good..for 6 of us. The other half of our group was sitting with no food while the other half was finished with their meals. I had the Baja tacos, garlic bread, and a margarita. The tacos and garlic bread were yummy and a great price. We were expecting higher menu prices. But half our family wasn't served until I only had one slice of garlic bread left! My husband was looking for our server and I hadn't even noticed they were sitting there sad and hungry. So horrible to leave half a group empty handed for so long. At the end of the meal I asked Dusty if he wouldn't mind taking a group photo. Our family was seeing each other first time in 20 years. It was special. Dusty said he would but when I passed him my phone he ignored it and busied himself with collecting our money. Then left. Never returned. We sat for 15-20 minutes waiting for him to return but nope.so we left. He never even offered dessert. And I would've said Yasssss! It was so weird. But fortunately a nice lady took our group photo out front and the photo turned out great.

Came here after the beach and the food here was good. Got the captain tray with is all fried seafood- fish, shrimp, French fries, and calamari with garlic bread. The seafood was fry good and had good flavor. Our server was great and our half dozens oysters were on the house! Due to it took a long while for it to come out. I would like to thank the manager on shift- on 06/06 for the great hospitality!

Always a good time! Food is tasty and great view of the bay a little pricey and service is hit or miss but the food is always great!

Had an overall great time at the SPFM - LB location. Reservation on a late April Saturday was no problem using OpenTable. The desired 12:30pm time slot was available when I booked a week ahead. The app checked to see that I still wanted the slot the day before and again an hour before. It looked like I didn't need the reservation as there was plenty of seating when my party of 4 arrived, but it was a good thing to request for outdoor because we have 2 canines as well. This was our first time at a SPFM and I want to say that the food was phenomenal. We ordered the world's famous shrimp plate, captain's tray and a side order of sausage and corn. This was more than enough food for 4 hungry people. The a la plancha sear was so flavorful; it was not too salty and oh so buttery. The outdoor seating was great. At the time we had our meal, it wasn't too loud and it had the right amount of sun. (When deciding between the San Pedro and LB location, I opted for LB because I had heard that there was shade available on their patio.) Seating area in the patio area was generously spaced out and establishment was very clean. Service was alright. Our server rarely checked in on us. They also forgot us after I requested for a copy of the bill so I had to go in and asked again.

Had a great dinner at San Pedro Fish Market! My husband and I walked in on a Saturday around 6pm and we were sat right away. They even sat us by the window so we had a view of the Marina/sunset. We were just having a casual dinner so we shared a bowl of the clam chowder and a whole fried tilapia. This was enough to fill us both! The chowder was a good consistency, not too thick or watery and served with oyster crackers. The tilapia was big! You can get it fried or grilled and add sauces. We chose to mix the Cajun and garlic sauce, such a good combo! We asked for the diablo sauce on the side, which had a good kick to it. The fish comes with veggies underneath that are mixed in the sauce (bell pepper, onion, and potato). Our waiter was also super nice even though it was just us 2 and we only ordered those 2 things. He kept checking on us and filled our waters throughout our time there. We also saw they have weekly specials and happy hour. We want to come back to try that menu. Overall we were impressed by our chowder and fish, the service, and location!

I wish we got the waitress' name but she was AMAZING which made our first time experience so special. My dad has cancer so he needs special accommodations and they were all met at this restaurant! Besides that, the rest of our food and drinks were sooo good. The views in the restaurant are so pretty looking out to the dock. Yall should check San Pedro in LB for some good seafood!

My wife and I paid a visit to the San Pedro Fish Market for the first time recently while visiting friends in Whittier. The place is amazing, with beautiful views of the bay, ocean and the Vincent Thomas Bridge. Even better is the seafood that is featured there. We tried a little bit of everything: crab legs, shrimp, fish and chips and clam chowder. It was all delicious! We will be back the next time we are in LA County!

I absolutely love the San Pedro Fish Market. I have been here a handful of times and always suggest it to other shrimp lovers. I made a reservation for Mother's Day and I was super happy to see that they actually read my request for outdoor seating and made it happen. We had a little hiccup where they forgot to assign our table a waiter but after that it was smooth sailing. The location is great. The restaurant is right next to the water with all the boats in view. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious. My go to is the Shrimp Tray with corn, sausage, and potatoes. They serve it with garlic bread that pairs so nicely with all the flavors. Also, if you haven't tried the Clam Chowder you need to get yourself a bowl right now! Go! Go! Go! It's so buttery and addicting.

So my little one and I came here on a Friday night during Lent and this place was poppin! We got here just before a rush around 5:30 and thought that that was the perfect time. There were folks seated in all areas but not enough to feel crowded. We asked to sit close to the window while we ate so that we can look at the boats and watch the sun go down but they had said that spots were for the folks who made reservations. Not a big deal, we still got to see the sunset and boats from the next table over. My little one ordered the chicken tenders and it came with fries, apples and a drink. She loved that and it was just the right amount of food for her. My eyes were definitely the ones eating today lol. I ordered the shrimp plate which is the smaller version of the tray and I added a whole fried tilapia. I had the option of having the fish grilled or fried and I opted for fried. That fish, I tell ya, was cooked beautifully! For both the shrimp and the fish I chose both the regular seasoning and the garlic butter and thought that was the perfect combination. I did try their bottled house salsa and that was pretty darn good to add on top too. There was a nice portion of potatoes and shrimp and a whole lot of onions. Wish there were more bell peppers and other veggies too but not a big deal. With the shrimp plate you get a 4 in top and bottom slice of garlic bread and that wasn't enough so I ordered a whole footlong of it. Would definitely come back again to try other things on the menu! Great place for seafood and the Lenten fish fry!

Came here for the nostalgic vibes because we used to come as a family when I was younger however I do remember it being much tastier. I feel like the bread used to be super buttery and garlicky back in the day and I felt like the shrimp were a little bigger too. All in all everything has pretty decent and I would still go back again specifically for the nostalgic vibes with the fam. Service was decent nothing extraordinary. Plenty of parking because we came during the week along with a minimal wait to be seated.

First review of the new year! I wanted a place with a happy hour, easy parking, good prices, and a great view. Check, check, check, and check. The parking is plentiful, the spaces are wide and best of all it's free! The staff is super nice and very accommodating. Shout out to our server, Jason. Very personable and his table timing is impecable! The happy hour menu is pretty good. We had: 1) Ceviche Tostada. $11.99. You get two. Star of the show, ceviche piled high and tasty. 2) Chips and Guac $9.99. Good guac. Perfectly spiced. Not enough chips, had to ask for more and were cheerfully given some. The chips are nice and light! 3) Fish Nuggets. $9.99. You get a lot of 'em. Pretty good. The dipping sauce is perfectly matched. 4) Mai Tai. $9 on the hh menu. Tasty. Strong. It's a generous happy hour. 3PM to Close M-F. $6 draft beer. $7 Wine glasses. $8 Well Drinks. $9 select specialty cocktails. We sat by the window and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Even though we sat inside it was a little chilly. Be sure and at least bring a sweater if you get cold easily. Very enjoyable experience. Great way to start my Yelpie new year!

We finally got the chance to give it a try. Upon entry we were greeted by the hostess but for some reason, I did not feel a sincere welcome. We were seated in an area where you had a nice view of Main Street and the crowds of people walking down Main street. Since it was our first time, we took a few minutes to go over the menu and decide on what to order. I don't know if our server was getting annoyed with us but she seemed a bit short or cold. Again, I didn't feel this sincerity of the staff appreciating we are there to give them business. When we finally were able to order, we also asked for bread. When our server left to put our order in, we waited for a while and we felt she forgot we wanted bread. She came with my soup and my wife's salad but no bread. So I asked again, and she said of course, but I sensed this feeling like I'm asking for too much. Maybe she was having a bad day and couldn't really get herself to be friendly or give us the feeling that they are happy we are there. The bread finally was brought over and we truly enjoyed the clam chowder and the Walt's salad which went well with the warm sourdough roll. At least the food was timed appropriately and the entree came when we were finished with our soup and salad. Our entree, the Trout Almandine was delicious. With a nice char to the skin and a nice grilled flavor to the trout. Their rice and green beans were the perfect accompaniment to our fish. Things got better towards the end of the meal to make it a nice lunch. I would come back just for the clam chowder. It was so full of clams in every spoonful and also not overboard with potatoes as most seafood restaurants tend to do to be able to have less clams in it. There is a variety of seafood choices and I would like to try a different choice the next time I come back.

In other words, I apparently walked in for dinner and accidentally financed a small yacht. And I have a legitimate question: Is New Zealand the only place on Earth with sheep? Every restaurant that serves lamb proudly announces, "Product of New Zealand." Are American sheep all on vacation? Is there an international witness protection program for lamb? Somewhere there's a vaudeville act waiting to happen. "Where's the lamb from?" "New Zealand." "Again?" "What, you wanted Nebraska mutton? Get out." Then there's the menu. About 80% of it simply says "Market Price." At this point I'm thinking of paying in sand dollars. If we're both using the market, maybe I can buy low, sell high, and leave with a profit. Don't misunderstand me--I love Captain Jack's. The food is worth every penny. I just need to start treating dinner reservations like meetings with my financial advisor. My credit card now stands up and applauds every time I pull into the parking lot. Good service. Good food. I'm just waiting for my seafood portfolio to mature before I come back. Bill: +$200

Had Surf n Turf (Crab legs and steak). The crab legs were very, very disappointing. The texture was not as usual and the meat was dry, not moist like every other time. I read the previous review saying the crab legs were dry, reading it I thought the reviewer was too critical. Unfortunately I experienced the same. The legs used to be huge, best I ever had. Not sure what happened but not worth the $129 per person. The staff is the same, best crew, super friendly. 10 out of 10 for the staff but I will not return anytime soon because after spending $450 for dinner it was not worth it. Portions were smaller too. Crab legs used to be 2 pounds (24 ounces), now 18 ounces!!
