Our second attempt at dining here. First one was on a Saturday but they were packed and wait was hour and a half so we went somewhere else. We came back on a Sunday lunchtime and they were already packed (they open at 1030am). We were quoted an hour and a half wait again. As we were about to leave the hostess suggested that "if you're really starving, bar sitting is available and has a better view, but they're high top tables..." like it's a last-resort option because it's inconvenient??? [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat by the window where we can see the water; server acknowledged us after 5 minutes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered Bloody Marys, 5-pc albacore sashimi, I love the sear on it, and its freshness; clam chowder: 5 out of 5, fish and chips which is alright, Kraken Shrimp on top of sweet chili sauce that comes with another sweet glazy dip. I opted to avoid dipping. Overall it was a nice experience!

We celebrated 2 birthdays yesterday after a Duffy ride with London Boat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had such a great time in the newly remodeled patio with an ocean view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress topped off the evening with 2 beautiful ice cream scoops topped with caramel (1 for each birthday person) . We closed the restaurant down.

What a lovely place to catch dinner. Joe started as our server then it switched to Jeff. Both were so courteous and gave great service. The food is delicious. Key is to go about 4 PM. Happy hour starts at 4 and the dinner crowd hasnt shown up.

Great food and service! Attended a private event in the Regatta Room. Boathouse does a great job with private dining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Room has a wall of glass with amazing views of Alamitos Bay![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ot has a private entrance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great venue for borthday parties and other soecial events. The menu options were very tempting!I ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon and my friends had the Flat Iron Steak. Both dishes were great picks. My salmon was very tender and flavorful served on a bed of mushroom and pea risotto. My once friend mentioned her steak had one if the best flavors she has had. Dessert was a chocolate mousse cake, nice small servings Great staff and food! I had recommended Boathouse for this event so I was very pleased it was a hit! Parking is usually very easy with lots of spots. It's a shared lot and it can can full on weekend afternoons / evenings but even so we find parking. Nice large lot.

Came here for the second time with my boyfriend and it did not disappoint! We had a beachside table, live band playing, and mimosas - $20 for the bottle, yay! The calamari was flavorful and perfectly crisp while still being soft. The turkey club sandwich was delicious, the Krackin shrimp was bomb, and the salmon hand roll is a must. Service was fast even though they were busy, and everyone was helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Everything was awesome here. I came straight from the airport for Happy Hour with my 12 year old. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio is scenic[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], Jessica was great and so was the food. Parking was super easy also. I look forward to visiting again next year as this is an annual Mom and son trip.

I just picked up one of my big bosses at the Long Beach Airport and he wanted to take me out to lunch. We walk up to this Boathouse on the Bay and I'm glad I dressed up better then what I usually wear doing field location work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place looks pretty fancy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I assume seafood is the big thing here. We get seated. The boss says he's been here before and likes the place. One thing I can say, working for this company, they sure don't cheap out on expenses! I'm looking over the menu all while trying to have enlightening and fascinating conversation. The boss say, how bout and order of fries to start, so with the drink orders we add a side of fries. The drinks and fries arrive and I will say, those were some of the best fries I ever had. Then he orders an order of the fried calamari. For entrees he orders the Linguini and Clams and I get the fish and chips. Yeah, I know better than to order the big ass ribeye when you go out with the boss, unless he orders that too. We talk business and stuff, and the fried calamari arrive. I'll say these are damn tasty! Next, my fish and chips arrive along with the Boss's Clam dish. My fish was a nice big piece of real fish filet, not those frozen fish fingers you get at some places and sports bars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this was a great place for lunch or dinner and has great views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't see the bill, but I figure it was expensed for sure.

My first time here, I ordered the pear martini which was delicious, it tasted just like pears. For our entrees, I chose the Lomo Saltado and my friend chose the Rosemary Jidori Chicken. Both entrees were great, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff was so nice as we decided if we wanted to sit on the patio or inside. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

I've eaten at Boathouse on the Bay several times and the food, service, and ambiance is always meets or exceeds my expectations. The patio is nice and airy with great views. There's also live music on the patio on weekends. The main restaurant has a different but still very nice feel to it. On this most recent visit, they were so busy they weren't allowing walk-in's so we sat at the bar. Sitting at the bar is our preferred seating at most restaurants. We had an amazing time. NOTE: make reservations or joint the waiting list on Yelp when you leave the house and by the time you get there you won't have to wait long at all.

We celebrated our 13th anniversary dinner last night and we were seated at the patio. We waited a bit longer before the server came. We ordered our cocktails and the server recommended the best seller, it is pretty good and refreshing. We ordered the trio appetizers, halibut and sea bass for our entrees and both great dishes. And the dessert which is light and delicious . Overall we enjoyed our evening, descent service. Small details like we were not ask if we do not mind being seated at the patio instead of the main dining area and if we are celebrating any occasion. It is not a big deal for us but worth mentioning for others.

Located right on the harbor. The views are incredible. There is complimentary parking up to 3 hours too. This was a happy surprise since the restaurant has a prime location. We were seated at our table which was outside and right next to the window. Our waitress was Hillary and she was so cheerful and kind. She was such a great server! We started off with the trio which comes with Brussel sprouts, calamari, and shrimp. It was nice to have a sample platter. For dinner I ordered the seabass and my party ordered the halibut. The halibut was the way to go! Wowee. So delicious! For dessert, we ordered the mud pie schooner to share! So good. It was so hard to share.

This was one of their specials, but I didn't go on Thursday. I went on Wednesday. Great price at $14.99.

Came here to taste their throwback happy hour specials. $14.99 for a full halibut dinner with asparagus and rice. The lobster sauce was absolutely delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great music and great views and great food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the best view in Long Beach/Seal beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great for big group events, bring back memories looking across the bay to Alamitos Yacht Club, where we got married at. Plenty of items from sushi to steak but top of the list for meme is their fish and chips and their batter shrimp, sushi is a hit or miss. Also, plus is on the weekend. They have live music on the patio. bartender, great and on point.

Our favorite steakhouse ever!!…read more Took my boyfriend here for his birthday for the first time and we absolutely fell in love with 555! From the service, to the food, to the ambiance, it's all so amazing. We ordered the mac and cheese, ribeye, filet mignon, souffle, and got the creme brûlée for his birthday on the house. Every single thing we got was literally amazing and seasoned so well. We typically have to add salt to our steaks whenever going to a steak house, but not at 555. It was seasoned SO PERFECTLY. It was even cooked perfectly too. Writing this review is making my mouth water just thinking about it. It is a steakhouse, so you're looking at your normal steakhouse prices. Hopefully we'll be back soon! Highly recommend!

Updating My Review of 555 East Steakhouse…read more I'm here to update my original review of 555 East Steakhouse in Long Beach. Our first experience was unexpected of 555's caliber of a restaurant because one of our steaks simply wasn't up to the standards we expected. However, one of the managers, Solana, reached out personally and asked us to give 555 another chance. I truly appreciated that gesture, so we decided to return. I'm so glad we did! This time, the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. I called for a last-minute reservation on a Saturday night, and Solana told me, "We'll fit you in." Our original party was four, but at the last minute, two more people wanted to join us. Even with the change to a party of six, they accommodated us and gave us a beautiful table on their outside deck. And then came the steak! We ordered the 30-day aged 26 oz Porterhouse, sliced and served beautifully on a board. It was absolutely superb--juicy, tender, richly savory, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was delicious, and the presentation made the experience feel extra special. The garlic mashed potatoes were also absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the steak. Plus first corkage is on the house! To top it all off, at the end of our dinner, they comped our steak. That was an incredibly generous gesture and truly showed us that they cared about making things right. A huge shout-out to Solana and the entire 555 team for listening, reaching out, and giving us a reason to come back. You turned what started as a mediocre experience into a delicious, memorable, and unforgettable evening. Thank you, Solana, and thank you, 555! This is what great customer service looks like. Along with a great steak!

Our waitress Laura was amazing and so attentive. This was the overall highlight of the dinner. Food was served quick and was delicious. Definitely as advertised and quality food as expected for a steakhouse. We had our own cake which they happily stored in the fridge for us, allowed it and even lit it at the end of dinner. Prices are on the high end with food and drinks, so be prepared to spend $$$$/$$$$$. My only suggestion would probably be to separate a bar/ drink tab if in a large group. It was hard to know who ordered what at the end of the night when receiving the check and it was huge section of the bill. This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. Definitely plan to come back for a weekend brunch! One thing to note - restaurants at 2nd & PCH do not validate parking, and only the first 90 minutes are free.

We came to celebrate a birthday and this restaurant was the choice of said birthday girl. The reservation process was easy. We were seated immediately. We decided to start with bottled water (Aqua Panna) but several felt it just tasted like tap water and didn't drink it. A waste of money. The restaurant was packed so slow service was to be expected. Our waitress took our order shortly after being seated. Starting with a Ceasar salad, which was the best thing we had all night. It was light and flavorful. 3 of us ordered the much anticipated pot pie as it's now served on Monday and Tuesdays. Sadly we were all disappointed. It completely lacked flavor! This was brought to the attention of our waitress, where I told her it was flavorless and asked for salt and pepper (S&P) to try and fix it. We did receive those items + hot sauce. After 3 rounds of adding S&P, my dish was "ok" enough to eat. I personally felt this could have been handled better, instead of pretty much blown off. 3 of 4 people unhappy with their meal and no sorry, no offer to replace the dish or bringing it the managers attention. 5 mins later she came back to see if the S&P made it better. No credit to the bill, offer for dessert, nada!! Just the full check brought to our table for payment. After our bill was paid, we saw the manager and called him over. After notifying him of how horrible the pot pie was, he did provide a gift card as an apology to the person in our party who got his attention since our bill was already paid. The card amount is approximately enough to cover 1 pot pie including tip and tax (with a small bit left over). I do appreciate he tried to make it right(ish), but 3 meals were horrible, not just 1. I did have a good first experience here and hope there is quality control measures put in place as food like what we ordered should have never left the kitchen. With so many wonderful higher end restaurants in town, it will be a while before I give this place another try. BTW, they do not validate, so parking on the street is ideal or be aware of the time limit for free structure parking.

Now, there was a funny moment... Anthony would occasionally speak directly to Justin and forget that Justin is deaf. And Justin, being Justin, would just laugh and nod his head like he heard every word. We all got a good laugh out of it. Then there was Isaac, our waiter, who took excellent care of us throughout the evening. His service was attentive, personable, and genuine. We even exchanged some travel stories and information, which made the experience feel even more personal. We truly enjoyed having Isaac take care of our table. And then came the FOOD! We took advantage of the $60 three-course menu and upgraded our steak cuts--and let me tell you... Those steaks arrived SIZZLING, buttery, tender, and cooked to perfection. That first cut went through the steak like slicing through butter. DELISH! For the drinks, I enjoyed a Smoky Brown Butter Old Fashioned , Wifey enjoyed her Pomegranate Martini , and our daughter went with a Lemon Drop/Strawberry Martini. Justin kept it classic with his Coke. Great food? Absolutely. Great drinks? Absolutely. But what made the evening memorable was the experience. You don't have to wait for a special occasion to create a special experience. Sometimes it's about the people you're with, the effort you put into the moment, the service you receive, and taking the time to simply enjoy the table you're sitting at. Anthony, Isaac, and the entire Ruth's Chris Long Beach team--thank you for helping us celebrate Justin's 29th birthday in style! To another successful dining experience!

Both cooked to medium-rare but completely different flavors once done. I love the density of a New York over the fatty rib eye although most people say it's more flavorful. It comes out perfect a nice little crispy outside and pink in the middle.. We love that the steak comes out on a sizzling hot plate! For our side we shared asparagus with hollandaise sauce to keep it simple. I kept dipping my steak in the sauce but there was no need to it had so much flavor. And don't forget the fresh complimentary bread that is brought to the table before you're served your food. So delicious! We passed on drinks tonight and stuck with our water. This location is a bit small, it was a packed house tonight and the place filled up quickly. However it never gets too loud, music is playing at perfect volume to keep it intimate and I love the way they open their windows at sunset and the golden hour shines bright inside, seems romantic to me. I also recommend the Chilean sea bass! Phenomenal. Great place for dates and special occasions. Looking forward for another visit soon!

Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!

For starters, we got the Parker House Rolls, which comes with truffle butter, local citrus honey, and grana padano cheese. These rolls were so fluffy and flavorful. We also ordered the hummus, which was so rich and creamy, and the oysters from the raw bar. For the main, we ordered the Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Wedge salad to share. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!

Finally made it out and they are about to close. :(…read more It was very busy when we arrived and we had to wait about 20 minutes, but after being seated, everything was smooth. Trying several items on the menu provided us a nice sampling of what they have to offer. We enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorite was probably the Brussel sprouts as they were cooked to perfection and not sweet like most restaurants serve them. A close 2nd was the chicken parmesan served over zucchini noodles. The final item ordered was a mushroom pasta with shrimp. The shrimp were fantastic with a light char and perfect flavoring. The pasta was good. It was a bit to spicy for me with the chili oil so I only had a small portion. The inside is simple yet inviting with an open layout. They seemed a bit short staffed, but every one was hustling and honestly we were well taken care of. Sad I won't have another opportunity to try more of the menu, but grateful to squeeze in this visit before they close in about a week.

It did look quite busy on the patio when we checked in with the hostess. We were informed that it would prob be about 20 minutes or so for a table and if we wanted to wait at the bar. Exactly what we did. Bar area had maybe 5/6 hi top chairs that look onto the bar. Gabriel and Francisco who were working was knocking the drinks out one by one. Sitting there and just watching them create magic for everyone, it was quite amusing. Seeing how it's made and presented with precise detail, it was an art. While waiting for the table we started off with the raspberry lychee martini and the spicy margaritas. Both were great. The right amount of kick with each sip. Gabriel was knocking them out one by one and man was he busy. Fransisco took are of us while we were eating which we ended up just having our dinner at the bar instead. The last time I remembered the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. So we started off with the grilled prawns as a starters. Five prawns in a skewers and grilled with a delicious sauce accompanied. It was tasty and quite delicious. Decent size and meaty for each bite. Entrees was a little mishap as our meal was mistakenly given to the party next to us which they enjoyed. Honesty mistake but we laughed it off. Kitchen was informed and a rushed was put on our order. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. They apologized and graciously offered us a dessert after dinner. Something simple but very graceful for the honest mistake. Entrees, the wild mushrooms pasta which was quite tasty and pretty decent in size. The cream sauce which wasn't too over powering the meal was great. Each bite was very tasty. Then there was the chicken Parmesan which why we were here and expecting. The last visit it was excellent with grilled broccolini, slices of tomatoes on top and mozzarella cheese and onto spaghetti pasta. It was great. Thinking it would be the same this time which it wasn't. This visit, it was just served with squash pasta and buffalo mozzarella on top. Honestly it wasn't what I expected, somewhat of a little disappointed. Chicken was good don't get me wrong. But the hot meat with sauce and then you have literally COLD squash pasta paired with it. It was a little underwhelming. Overall, we still had a nice experience. The place was pretty full and of course the lakers were on so it was fun seeing everyone cheering them on. Bar seating for a meal was great as we had fun conversations with both Gabriel and Francisco. Plus they were cranking them drinks out one by one. Excellent in what they do. The drinks were great, grilled prawns and wild mushrooms pastas were excellent. Chicken parm, this time was a miss. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Also the dessert, highly recommend the Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream. Wow, it went down very well. Hoping next time will outdo this.

We happened to be in the neighborhood and within very close proximity so I said "phuck it", lets FINALLY give it a try lol. Patio dining is the most popular as they do not have AC inside; however, the tables were too close for my comfort (there were a couple open) so we chose to dine inside and it was not bad in there (temp wise) at all (they have a fan on). We started off with the burrata app (24.00, gulp!) & it came with three rolls (not sure if homemade), the burrata, and what appeared to be a tapenade. It was tasty but definitely not worth the price. For entrees, I ordered the pappardelle (26.00) which came with a pork ragu & bone marrow (BTW, pasta is made fresh in house). BFF ordered some type of pasta with spicy pork sausage (33.00). Both were very tasty with just a tad of spiciness. We did not order any dessert as our server did not offer any as well as not seeing it on the menu (one page menu). I am glad that I finally got to dine in at this place; however, it is for special occasions only (in my book) as it came to 115.00 for 2 (before tip) & that was with no alcoholic beverages (just soda). I did notice on their website that they have "oyster hour" (happy hour with oysters) 6 days a week so I'd definitely like to try that with more reasonable pricing!
