This was one of their specials, but I didn't go on Thursday. I went on Wednesday. Great price at $14.99.

Came here to taste their throwback happy hour specials. $14.99 for a full halibut dinner with asparagus and rice. The lobster sauce was absolutely delicious. Great music and great views and great food!

My first time here, I ordered the pear martini which was delicious, it tasted just like pears. For our entrees, I chose the Lomo Saltado and my friend chose the Rosemary Jidori Chicken. Both entrees were great, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff was so nice as we decided if we wanted to sit on the patio or inside. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

Located right on the harbor. The views are incredible. There is complimentary parking up to 3 hours too. This was a happy surprise since the restaurant has a prime location. We were seated at our table which was outside and right next to the window. Our waitress was Hillary and she was so cheerful and kind. She was such a great server! We started off with the trio which comes with Brussel sprouts, calamari, and shrimp. It was nice to have a sample platter. For dinner I ordered the seabass and my party ordered the halibut. The halibut was the way to go! Wowee. So delicious! For dessert, we ordered the mud pie schooner to share! So good. It was so hard to share.

Boathouse by the Bay is a fun spot that you can take the Long Beach water taxi to if you don't feel like driving. It can be casual or more upscale for events. The staff is friendly. The food was okay. I had the blacked fish sandwich and someone had gotten very over zealous with the tartar sauce so much so that it kept oozing out every time I took a bite. The 5yo in our party raved about his Mac and cheese. The fish and chips looked quite appetizing.

I've been coming to the Boathouse for many years. Learned they no longer offer crab legs....my absolute favorite. The Shrimp was served beautifully but was warm to the touch and the Cocktail sauce was nothing more than ketchup...even after attempts to add horseradish and lemon juice. The ceviche lacked flavor...needed lime juice and Cilantro. The Spicy Alamitos roll was good but needed Ponzu sauce. We ordered another one and asked for ponzu sauce. It was the highlight of the meal. We opted to pass on main entrees. Service was slow..pleasant but Slow. A big miss overall tonight. Something has changed...if you look at my previous reviews I was a huge fan.

Worth the Pay at The Boathouse on the Bay I visited The Boathouse on the Bay on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM. Even though I was dining solo, I made a reservation, and I'm glad I did because this place was packed. Reservations are an absolute must. I sat outside, and even though the weather was cold, I honestly didn't feel it because they had plenty of outdoor heat lamps throughout the patio. The ambiance was truly stunning: warm lighting, upscale energy, and a romantic feel without being overly "stuffy." One of my favorite details was seeing a table with a fire feature in the center and guests were literally seated around a fire while dining, which felt so luxurious and unique. There was also a live band, and the sound quality was so crisp I genuinely thought it was a playlist until I looked up and realized they were performing. Parking was a breeze, which is always a win, especially on a busy Saturday night. My server was delightful, attentive, kind, and welcoming. I started with the clam chowder, which was creamy, hot, and full of flavor. The sourdough bread served at the table was perfectly crunchy and delicious with butter. And the pear martini? A full 5 stars on its own. It was so good I ordered two. This is definitely a more expensive place, but the service, atmosphere, and overall experience matched the price. What I also loved is that it's not just for couples it's family-friendly, and I saw families dining, birthday celebrations, and even regulars. I sat near a gentleman who said he comes frequently, and I can absolutely see why. This feels like one of those stable spots that, once you go, could easily become your go-to if you enjoy great ambiance and a quality experience. Overall, I didn't order an entrée this time because I originally came to enjoy the scenery, read my book, and have a drink, but next time, I'm absolutely coming back for a full meal. If the soup and drinks were that good, I can only imagine what the food is like. If you're in the Long Beach area and want great ambiance, great service, and a beautiful dining experience, The Boathouse on the Bay is worth it.

Blast from the past! And 5 stars for our waitress, Malia I used to come here every weekend for their brunch. This was the very first time I've had dinner and cocktails here I made a reservation which was really easy. I remember I used to have to put my card down for the reservations In the past, but this time it didn't make me do that. If you don't want to make a reservation they do have a waitlist Parking can get crazy during brunch hours and weekend dinner. I recommend carpooling or ubering. I have a handicap placard, so thankfully there wasn't an issue at 4:30. they also share the parking lot with a couple other places We were greeted right away, everybody was friendly. I made the reservation for the outdoor patio and I had it reserved at sunset so we could watch it. I did ask the hostess though if we had to sit in a certain area for happy hour, she said it's available anywhere. So we kept our patio spot. This is my favorite outdoor patio / places to dine outside. They also have live music, the lady singing was amazing. Check their website to see when they have live music This place has a really good menu. They have sushi, steak, all other kinds of seafood, sandwiches and etc. This restaurant honestly has the best happy hours for cocktails in Long Beach. The ones I ordered were 10 dollars vs 16-18 This time we ordered their tomahawk. I called ahead of time and asked if they serve it only on a certain day or past a certain hour. I didn't get the name of the girl. But she did say as long as it wasn't brunch menu time, they can make it during lunch and dinner Also, grabbed a few cocktails I got the -blueberries on the bay The - pear martini the- Chee hoo And the-champagne punch cocktail (Don't worry, I ain't driving) All of them came out really fast, tasted amazing and were on the happy hour menu They also have great mocktails . Happy hour is tues-Friday and 4-6 pm. (They are closed on Monday) we also ordered the - chicken sliders from the happy hour menu. (I'm not into sushi, but they even have sushi featured on their happy hour) The tomahawk does not come with sides. It comes with a butter / sauce that you get to pick and the seasoning. We ended up picking the mushroom glaze for the tomahawk and skipped on the rub that comes with it (3 to choose from) I really appreciate that Malia kept notifying us that certain items we order would take longer like the tomahawk and our dessert that was being made. She also let us know that she was having to go into a meeting but it would only take about 5-10 minutes and asked if we needed anything beforehand. So she was really great and mindful We ended up getting -Mac and cheese -truffle fries -broccolini with balsamic glaze -garlic mashed potatoes To go with the tomahawk Everything was amazing. I've been coming here for years and yet the service and quality is still the same I think it's safe to say this is a Long Beach staple. This is a must for girls night, date night, brunch and even taking your friends and family here if they are coming into town. Especially since they have such a diverse menu, everyone will be happy

This place is a classic, after work at the bar or for dinner with my grandkids...can never go wrong if your wanting to fine dine, views are amazing all the workers are great. I highly recommend!!!

Sushi was truly the best I've had in years. Made right in front of us with the freshest ingredients!! We'll be back!! Oh and they serve Sheldrakes coffee!! Perfect.

    Calamari and sushi rolls
    Maria P.

Sat us on a small corner table and when our waitress came along we ordered a bottle of champagne and requested a bigger table as we were doubtful everything would fit. Next thing you know we had a different waitress. I guess we shouldn't of asked for a bigger table Our new waitress was great. I guess it was a blessing in disguise. The sushi was ok nothing special. The calamari was tasteless, not even lemon could of saved it. Notice how the bed of lettuce is more than the amount of calamari. Would not go back.

    Hair in sushi

The service was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Our server had a rude attitude throughout our visit. When we found a hair in our food and brought it to her attention, she simply removed it and walked away without offering any apology or suggesting any solution. We then had to call her back and ask what would happen with the dish and whether we would still be expected to pay for it. She responded with a curt "No," delivered with an attitude. Even then, the meal was only removed from the bill after we specifically requested that it be deducted. At no point did she apologize or show any concern for the situation. To make matters worse, we asked to speak with a manager twice, but no one came. We eventually had to go find the manager ourselves to raise the issue. Unfortunately, he seemed equally uninterested and did not appear to care much about what had happened. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but finding a hair in food is unacceptable, and the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer service made the experience far worse. A simple apology and some effort to resolve the issue would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with indifference from both the server and management. I would not recommend this place.

We had a late lunch with friends after a long time, and this place we chose turned out to be quite nice. The interior was clean and bright without feeling overdone, and the service was very satisfying. The food was also neat and enjoyable, making it a pleasant overall experience.

Had a great time at Boathouse on the Bay for their Mother's Day brunch. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful by the water, and the staff was friendly and attentive even with how busy it was. It was the perfect spot to celebrate and relax with family. Definitely would come back again for brunch!

We sat at the bar and the sushi, chefs and server were nice. We ordered their spicy edamame which was loaded with flavor by far the best spicy edamame. I love the garlic and chili combos with a little citrus flavor. Also ordered the stinky roll, which is spicy tuna on the inside and salmon on the outside which I liked very much couldn't decide on a second roll so I asked the server to surprise us and kind of regret doing that because he had brought us a roll that I was already cringing at reading the description on the menu which was their long beach roll however, the crunch it had on the inside was very nice and not too heavy. I don't feel that asparagus should be anywhere near a sushi roll, but that was my bad. Also ordered their Yuzu cheesecake, which was a no for me. It was too strong and screaming Yuzu simialr to lemon zest and super tiny. The quality of the ingredients they use here are pretty good. I would come back to try other items, but I do not suggest getting their dessert or their long beach roll.

The grilled scallops are still the best scallops I've had anywhere in South America. The blue crab handroll is another not to miss item on the menu, you can order it with scallop. The staff are like family, the nicest and friendliest team. Daiwa and Eduardo run their restaurant as a family business and everyone involved is extended family. Her friendly ese and grace is what has driven us to be regulars. The place is modern, dark and moody. It highlight Peruvian artistry in both the kitchen and the salon. If you're looking for elevated and different sushi In the LBC, sushi Nikkei is definitely your go to spot.

SOOO AMAZING i'm already obsessed with this restaurant. i was VERY pleased with my dining…read moreexperience at osaka story :3 i need to come back asap -- it was that freaking good. i think i stumbled upon this place through a recommendation from yelp so shoutout to yelp i love u yelp. absolutely exceeded my expectations! the menu is HUGE, like several pages long, so you're bound to find something you'll like ~ not to mention, the service was excellent! very attentive and friendly servers! the interior is also soo cute at night + there's an outdoor dining area. we ordered the mango tango, black mamba, and orange bikini roll. they were all so good, but i think the black mamba was my fav. it was a tinge lighter than the other rolls with a dash of citrus that i really enjoyed! (i think from the ponzu, i LOVE PONZU)! every bite was BURSTING WITH FLAVOR :') incredible combinations. chef's kiss. parking is on the street, so it CAN be tricky to find a spot... but the area is lovely to walk through, especially at night! we were told the meters aren't active after 7pm and parked in a 25 minute loading zone spot with no problems at all.

I did not come prepared for a chilly night. We were supposed to just have coffee and go for a walk, but we needed a warm place, so we stumbled upon this place. It's actually pretty good. We sat at the counter/bar. The servers were nice. What we got: Salmon/tuna poke bowl: quite yummy. A mixture of both salmon and tuna in a great poke sauce over a bed of rice and salad. Salmon skin salad: if you like salmon skin, this is yummy. A perfect crunch seasoned really well to complement the bed of greens. Furikake fries: thinly cut potato's with furikake seasoning paired with a sweet mustard dipping sauce. I would have enjoyed more Furikake on the fries, but that's just me. This place has real wasabi if you ask for it instead of the watered down stuff you usually get. It's actually pretty good! Overall great food and great service. I'd come back for sure!
