What a amazing dinner! I have heard lots of great comments about Patty's Place and finally planned ahead to book a reservation for our Anniversary. Smaller restaurant and they book up quickly! The bar area was packed when left, Sunday around 630pm. Service was excellent. Our server was Rosemary and she was the best. Attentive and checked us often. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner Nick, also stopped by to oversee the service and chat. Very friendly ans nice to meet the owner. That's an owner that truly cares about his business! The menu has a lot to offer. Great steaks, prime rib, and a lot of seafood options! In addition, the iffer daily specials. Honestly, it was tough to decide. We all chose seafood! Next visit definitely plan to try their Prime Rib or Filet! They have great soup and salad options as well! Next visit I want to try their French Onion Soup! Always looking for a great one! Interior has nice cozy booths. Parking was easy with a share lot. Cocktails were great! Martinis made right! I enjoyed my glass of Malbec. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! Bread was warm and excellent! First impressions with bread is important and they measured up! We ordered the Beet Salad and the Asian Pear Salad. Both came with fresh Burrata and so good! For entrees we ordered Sear Ahi, Salmon, and Seated Scallops. My husband waa so impressed with his salmon, his quote, the best he has ever had! I had the seated scallops. The menu stated they were East Coast, where I grew up, and why I orderd them. I can't tell you exactly the differencebl but I prefer them back there vs West Coast, seem more meaty to me. They were preoared perfectly, definitely enjoyed the dush along with the side cous cous (pearl type) and lots of colorful al dente veggies! Our son ordered the appetizer size of the Seared Ahi. Perfect size when paired with a full size salad! It also was an excellent pick! Desserts. This place is known for their inhouse made desserts. If you know me, you know I have a sweet tooth. Nice offering if desserts. Since it wa our anniversary, they comp'd us a dessert of our choice! Very nice! We ordered two, Bread Pudding and Apple Tart. Both were excellent! Our first visit! Very enjoyable. It was nice Nick came by to check on us to make sure our wine glasses were full. The servers were great also. The food matched it. I could not resist a good french onion soup and it did not disappoint. We also had the seared ahi, prime rib, daily salmon special. The vibe was updated old school. It was fun because the bar had the basketball finals on so it was fun to hear everyone's reactions. Lots of great parking. Reservations are a must. read more

Someone recommended this quaint restaurant to me because I absolutely love French onion soup. Hidden off PCH and 5th, this restaurant is a hidden gem First impression, more upscale than the other places i go to. Staff super nice, clean and very relaxing. A definite local hangout. I had my go to drink, a Manhattan, oh my this was delicious. I ordered the French onion soup and house salad. The soup was so flavorful, rich broth, big pieces of onion and super cheesy. 12/10 experience. I picked this spot for a very special event to meet family members for a dinner. I was floored by how much support I got from every staff member and how they took my request to the next level where it felt like each person was there for me. Walking in I already could feel the local energy and love in the bar and the vibe was warm and cozy. Thank you everyone who helped make the night wonderful! Food here was exceptional with a full bar and would recommend for any kind of intimate evenings or casual hangouts with close friends. It's obviously a great local place; a bit overpriced; service was average. We were there celebrating a 40th wedding anniversary which was not acknowledged by the waiter: like "hey, are we celebrating anything on this Sunday evening?" It was not busy at all. There was one other table. The waiter struggled with opening the champagne bottle. The classic chocolate cake was extremely dry, but the frosting was good. My wife and I have driven past this restaurant so many times but decided to try it on Sunday evening. In fact every time we eat at Koi we tell ourselves we need to try Patty's Place. So! The food was delicious. My French onion soup came with a rich and dark broth along with perfectly melted cheese on top. My wife had the beet salad which was so refreshing and tasty. For our entree we said the 16 oz Snake River prime ribeye steak with hot and crispy fries. No dessert as we were both completely full. The service was perfect. In fact Nick the managing partner came to our table and introduced himself. Kudos to the bartenders who made with 2 perfect Manhattan's. My wife loved her gin gimlet. The dining room is small but the booths are very comfortable. You enter through the bar area and honestly, we wouldn't mind sitting with the regulars. Cheers, we will be back. read more

It's time I stopped gatekeeping this fabulous eatery. Tucked in a quaint strip mall, comes steakhouse that is also small in stature. But despite all things appearing to be diminutive, Patty's Place brings the grandest of all accoutrements that you would expect of a 5-star steakhouse. As you walk through the doors, on any given evening, you might find any of the Seal Beach dignitaries sitting at the copper plated bar. You're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both upscale and cozy. And from behind the bar, all of the bartenders are incredibly attentive and friendly, making you feel like a valued guest from start to finish. But the one bartender who makes me feel like one of the SB locals is Jake. Words cannot express how Jake has made me feel welcome every time I pass through the wooden entrance door. From many visits due to work, he knows all my food tastes as well as my choice of liquors. Jake's knowledge of whiskeys, scotch, and bourbons created conversations with him that increased my wisdom of such liquor spirts. You can tell he enjoys his craft and it shows in every drink he makes. The food? Phenomenal. As you can tell from my photograph submissions, I've had almost all the bar menu meals. I had the bone-in ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and paired with mushrooms and asparagus that were equally divine. The burgers are a blended patty that is cooked to a perfect medium-rare and juicy each time. My favorite dish is the Filet Mignon Stroganoff with fresh pappardelle pasta infused with a rich cream sauce that is heavenly. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, just want a memorable night out, or just want a great cocktail, Patty's Place delivers on all fronts. It was the perfect date night! It was my first time there, but my boyfriend had been there multiple times. To start, we split a caesar salad and had the ceviche. Bread was also served. The bread was very warm and was perfect with the butter. The caesar was great, we got it without anchovies. And, the ceviche was amazing with the avocado!! Chips were not stale and the lemon went along with the ceviche. I had the surf and turf with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were a nice complement. And, the lobster... WOW! Great!!! They de-shelled it for me and it was so decadent with the butter For dessert, we shared a key lime pie. We barely finished it because we were so full from earlier. The waitress was very kind and attentive to our needs. Half-way through, the owner visited our table and checked on the service (great). This is less a review than it is a "Dear John letter" to Patty's. My friend and I tried Patty's last year and quickly became regulars. Great food and service - normally. We came to Patty's on a Saturday evening for dinner and drinks at the bar. When we walked in the bar was full except for four seats. She and I took two of the seats after being asked where we would like to sit. The bar seats are first come first serve. We chose the bar top for a reason; it's nice to chat with the bartenders about what we would like to drink, they make something based on your preferences and the bar top is a more social and lively experience at Patty's. Shortly after sitting down at the bar top, my friend heard a young waitress say to a customer, who walked in after us, something about asking us to move. We assumed they must've had someone coming and we would scoot down to the last two chairs so that the two chairs to my right would become available for that person and their company. As we begin moving, I heard the young waitress say something to that customer about us moving to a table. I said that we would prefer to sit at the bar. We don't want a table which is why we chose the bar top. I then heard the young waitress say to that other customer "let me ask" and she walked away. I assume she went and talked to the owner because shortly after that, he walked up to us and told us to move. Not asked, not requested, but told us in front of the entire full bar that was now paying attention to all the shifting about. We were basically ordered by the owner Nick to move to a table off to the side. One that was available when we walked in and that we did not choose when offered to pick our choice of seating. This experience was very upsetting and embarrassing. No one thanked us for moving. We were simply told to move so other customers who arrived after us could take our seats. The gentleman sat at our seats and his party arrived later; they weren't even all there when we were told to move. My friend and I eat there quite often and spend what we feel is quite a bit of money there. To be disregarded and ordered to move was humiliating and demeaning. Nick would often engage with us in way we felt was genuine appreciation for our repeat business. However, we now feel it to be quite disingenuous and will clearly shift on a dime. The only acceptable response to that customer who arrived after us should have been "I'm sorry, sir, but the seats at the bar are first come first served. We have this table over here where we can seat your larger party." not she and I gathering our things and being told to move off to a side table by the door to accommodate someone who arrived later than we did. This was an incredibly upsetting, humiliating, and disappointing experience. I will not be back. read more

We had an amazing experience at Patty's Place. Small and intimate atmosphere. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We both started off with a cocktail, beets salad, and the deviled eggs. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese olives 10/10. Beet salad was fresh and tasty 10/10. I was a little disappointed with the deviled eggs. I do like mustard. I just felt the deviled eggs were overpowered by mustard. I did like the salmon on top. Overall 7/10 for the deviled eggs. As soon as we told our server we brought our own bottle of wine she offered to decant it for us. She (Gina) was very friendly, professional, and gave us some good feedback with menu options (food & drinks). I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. My girlfriend ordered the Filet Mignon and prawns with double loaded baked potato and zucchini. The Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Mignon and Prawns were all cooked perfectly. All packed with flavor and the perfect texture. My only complaint about the sides is the asparagus. The asparagus was very bland. Not seasoned. I gave the asparagus a 4/10. After dinner we decided to stay for one cocktail at the bar. Of course I had to get a second espresso martini and we had the opportunity to chat with the bartender. We didn't catch his name unfortunately, but he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about what he had behind the bar and he was mindful enough to ask us questions about how we liked our drinks. We have dined at Patty's place maybe six times now it's a great place to celebrate birthdays . we celebrated my cousin's birthday here and received excellent service from Maria. The crazy thing is that we talk to Maria about life and she provided great service but at USC family weekend I saw her walking up the bleachers to find out that her nephew is one of the star players for USC. Congratulations to Maria and her nephew. We won the game and he rocked it!!! we will be back at Patty's place again the night we were there, The Dodgers won the World Series that was epic as well. We've just discovered this gem! I wasn't up to going on my birthday so a week later we celebrated. Oh WOW! It was the most amazing evening. Cocktail at the beautiful quaint bar. The bartender is quite knowledgeable. Throughout the entire meal he paired a perfect accompaniment. The crab cakes were chock full of nothing but lump crab. Then my prime rib was perfectly done. Aaaand for my birthday dessert she brought creme brulee. I might say it was the best I've had!!! The service was excellent throughout the entire experience.
