A friend recommended this place to us and he actually had them cater his wedding. After enjoying the wedding meal, we had to check out their brick and mortar restaurant. We've been here a couple of times, ordering new items, and loving everything. Things we would order again: spicy bloody mary, lemon ricotta pancake, chilaquiles, grilled chicken ciabatta. The owner is passionate and creates almost everything from scratch. They are mostly Mexican style dishes but add flares of different cultures in their weekly specials. We had breakfast this morning and it was fantastic!! I had breakfast tacos with carne asada which had great flavor and was very tender. My wife had the guava French toast which she loved. She especially enjoyed the hibiscus syrup in combination with the guava whipped cream. Our son had the brisket hash breakfast burrito and he said it was really good. Stopped by for brunch. The menu is fun and creative with some unique twists on comfort food. The crispy smoked gouda empanadas had a gooey, cheesy center and were suited for a quick appetizer. The tacos were flavorful with fresh cilantro and onion, and the grilled cheese sandwiches came stacked with fun fillings like jam, grainy mustard, shrimp and multiple cheeses. They were a standout -- the ingredients blended nicely, full of flavor, and each bite had a good balance instead of feeling heavy. Portions were generous and presentation was appealing. That said, the meat and specifically the cheese grits leaned on the salty side, which took away from the overall taste. The ricotta pancakes were the highlight, absolutely delicious -- savory, light, fluffy, and adding blueberries gave them a pop of sweetness and flavor. We also grabbed desserts to go, and they were just as tempting as everything else on the menu. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a cozy, local, unpretentious, casual place, Hangry should be first on your list The staff, especially Alyssa, was friendly and professional and knowledgeable and helpful. Perfect with all her recommendations. The kitchen serves homemade bread, homemade sauces, and locally sourced if not homemade ingredients. Parking is very limited at this location, I saw that you can park on the other side of the restaurant but I am unsure if that's ok due to it being in another lot. Inside this place was really clean and well maintained. Found out that they had opened this restaurant in January. They cook everything fresh so if you are waiting for something quick you'll be waiting at least 10-20mins or more depending on how full this place gets. I got the Hangry Beer Burrito, it had a lot of flavor the burrito came straight from the grill so it was nice and hot. They have some homemade salsa and it was very delicious. My only complaint was how expensive the burrito is, anything else with the burrito is an additional add on so the burrito does not come with anything else for a $16 burrito that's kinda expensive. read more

Amazing! I got this for a lunch work meeting, and it did not disappoint. I got the birrira buritto, and it was delicious!

First time trying it this passed Saturday from the food truck and yesterday I visited the restaurant. Both times I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was spot on the egg and cheese was so fluffy and melt in your mouth type. This is the second time I have been to Hangry's and let me tell you. Between the service and food, it's one of my favorite spots. Both times we ordered huevos rancheros with over medium eggs and carnitas. Maybe the best huevos rancheros I have ever had. Maybe even better than when I make them myself. (I have a pretty high standard for my own cooking so that is saying a lot. I promise.) Now their hot sauce.... When you are one of the only white people in the establishment, you know that hot sauce is not yt hot sauce. So tread carefully. That mango sauce..... my favorite. But again, tread carefully. The grilled cheese was about as expected. My partner and I split our food and it doesn't compare to the huevos rancheros, that's for sure. But it was ooey and gooey and packed with Mac n cheese and had a decent amount of meat inside. The bread was toasted to.... PERFECTION. Now this was prime toasted grilled cheese bread. I wanna know their secret. If anyone gets it, please come back and tell me. The tator tots were perfect tots. Nothing super special, but they were cooked again... to perfection. Both times we've visited the server was fantastic. This last time I wanna say her name was Alyssa? Speedy, friendly, did her job and did it well. The first time, our server was really fantastic too, very friendly, fast efficient. Both visits we didn't have to wait long for food either. Which is surprising to me because it's always so fresh tasting. I can't comment on the cocktails, but one day I'll try them. I always want to order one but tbh I'm probably hungover already when I make it to Hangry's so I settle for good ol H20. The atmosphere is I guess pretty ok? The high top chairs are pretty uncomfortable but you're probably not sitting in them for super long anyway! There is a bar as well and I was shocked by that just from looking at the building from the inside. But their cocktail list really sounds divine! I can't say enough good things about Hangry's brick & mortar restaurant on E. Little Creek Rd. The house margarita was simple and perfect, no extra OJ or flavorings that take away from the traditional recipe. It was a quick lunch stop and I the Hangry-style Chipotle Shrimp, Carne Asada, and Mojo Chicken tacos. I can't say which one I liked best because they were all amazing. Please stop by and see Marion and her crew, they're very courteous and gracious, and you will not be disappointed. They also serve breakfast all day and I will be back within the week for a Breakfast Burrito which she reomended . We brought our "work family" for brunch at Hangry's last Sunday, and it was a great experience! Our party of 5 was seated promptly. Service was friendly and attentive. I visited the main shop for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The service was great & the waitress was very attentive. I thought the decor and vibe was nicely tied together. I was slightly disappointed in the overall taste of the food. I ordered the Mac & Cheese Grilled Cheese. It looked amazing, but there just wasn't any real flavor. The meat was cooked well & was tender, but again no flavor nor from the Mac & Cheese. Looks awful on the outside. That's fine! It's Norfolk, it's camouflage to blend in with the local environment. But, that stops at the door. Super clean inside and you can smell brisket being smoked as you enter. I found a great place for tacos and burritos stuffed with a Mexican flare (even in the morning). Or their shrimp and grits, guava french toast, or lemon ricotta pancakes, etc. They serve beers, liquors, and some bubbly. The prices are cost effective and 98% of the food is made on site. First time checking this truck out that was at Pleasure House Brewing not long ago. I had high expectations based on reviews. The trailer was bright and clean and cool art work. A menu board was easy for customers to view there selections. They offered a good bit and prices as like most trucks tip somewhat North in price. The staff was friendly and I did ask for recommendations, but had my heart set in the meatloaf sandwich. The tacos were recommended, but the friendly staff said the meatloaf was great! I paid with cash, but credit is accepted. I received a buzzer. My buzzer alerted me as to time for pick up. Timing was around 15 minutes with few guest waiting, not too bad. The visual in the basket looked ok. No side or drink for the $11. The sandwich came out very hot. First bite was good, but unfortunately it went downhill. Also the cheese was not melted. The sandwich was just too spicy. I pushed through, but would not order again. Yeah I was disappointed, but I would try again and get the tacos. 3.5, rounding down. read more

They were at the Farmers Market on Saturday morning so I tried them out. I got the 3 tacos for $11. I love that you can mix and match. I got 2 steak and 1 Chipotle shrimp. Hands down one of my favorite food trucks in the 757! I will go to a brewery solely for Hangry's I definitely recommend checking their Instagram for their latest schedule-- they're good about posting where they will be! They seem to frequent Commonwealth Brewery a lot. I love Hangry's simple but delicious menu. After ordering, they provide a buzzer which is nice because you don't have to stand by the truck to wait for your name to be called. We always get the asada tots to split. They are a huge portion and could definitely be a meal within itself! I'm a sucker for their Mac N Cheese pulled pork sandwich, and my husband always gets the shredded pork panini.
