This restaurant is located in the little shopping mall by the International Store. Doesn't seem to be a very busy spot. There are a few closed down shops near it so I really believe that cuts down on the business they may get. When you come in it looks nice and clean. Plenty of tables for customers with a open floor. The menu is large and has something for everything. I wasn't very hungry so i chose a simple "pollo con arroz". Just rice, chicken and topped with cheese sauce. It just wasn't my style. Coming from California and knowing what authentic Mexican food is- I was not impressed. There was no flavor. My daughter ordered Chicken tacos. It was just chicken, lettuce and cheese. This was our first time here and we were immediately greeted. Our waitress, Nova came to our table shortly after, brought us chips and salsa, and took our drink orders then brought them back and took our meal orders and our food came out very quickly. I'm from CA and am super picky about Mexican food restaurants - this restaurant is my new favorite place to eat. First - it's SUPER clean. You can tell as soon as you walk in that they take a lot of pride in their establishment. Second - the food is fantastic! I had the enchilada plate - and could tell nothing came from a can. The tortillas, sauces, beans and rice are all obviously made from scratch. I felt like I was at my friend's abuelita's house. They also have a great variety of tequilas for different flavors in margaritas. Which is expected considering the name. The service was wonderful even though it was busy on a Friday night. While the food is still good, it could be much better. Recently I've noticed everything that's fried tastes like old grease that's very heavy and smelly. Smelly enough that it overpowers the aroma of the ingredients being cooked. That's not good not does it taste good or smell nice. While I know ingredients are expensive, as everything is now, cooking in old grease is unacceptable. Grease can be reused if cleaned properly. Maybe they just don't know how or have got used to the taste and don't recognize it. I hope it's a fluke & gets turned around cause if it doesn't, it risks becoming like all the others. Service is always pleasant & quick, although sometimes I feel like I'm being judged and talked about. English isn't the first language here, so at times ordering or instructions get lost. Typically when ordering to go. Maybe it's the kitchen that's not comprehending and just doing things by rote. I don't know. I do hope things turn around as this is a cute little restaurant with decent prices and close by. read more

We stopped here for lunch and so glad we did. Place is clean, service is top notch. I had the chicken burrito bowl and my husband had the shrimp cocktail. Im not sure who the people are reviewing this place but I think they may be family or work there. Im from Texas. Mex food is a big deal. This place was meh. Had no idea what sour cream sauce is. Ya know, for sour cream enchiladas? We asked the waiter if the kitchen could make it. All he said was no. I ended up ordering beef quesadillas. I was asked, ground beef or steak. Ground beef in a quesadilla? Never heard of that before. See pic for what I ended up with. Looks more like two tacos on their side. Thats not like any quesadilla I have ever had. No sour cream with it. No quacamole. Nada!. Taste was not good as spices were funky. Also ordered a regular margarita. Was basic in cheap bar marg mix. very disapointing. My mom and I decided to try out Margarita's last Saturday, 6/18/22. We're still a little bummed Penang Town is gone, but we also wanted to see what Margarita's could offer. Considering there are a BUNCH of Mexican restaurants in the area, they'll have to offer plenty of good things to stand out. For the most part, Margarita's is a cool spot, but based on one visit I'm not going to say they have anything that other Mexican spots already have. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. We were greeted immediately by David - he showed us to our table and served us during our visit. He was quiet but kind and was quick to assist us throughout. David was outstanding enough to the point that I'd come back just to be regaled by his kind service and work ethic. Mom and I ordered an appetizer, the queso fundido. It is queso dip mixed with chorizo. It was good and accompanied the complimentary chips and salsa (and white sauce) that was provided us, but the chorizo was a tad saltier than I would've liked. Still, it was tasty and worth a try. For my entree, I ordered the chuletas de Puerco, which is 2 grilled pork chops topped with a green tomatillo sauce. The tomatillo sauce had a nice kick to it and complemented the pork chops well. The dish came with a side of rice and beans, so this was an entree I ended up not finishing (too much food, haha!). I enjoyed this and would order it again. My mom loves fajitas - she seems to only order that when we dine at any Mexican spot. She ordered a combination fajitas (steak, chicken, shrimp), which is always too much food for her. She enjoyed the fajitas and was happy it wasn't too salty. Overall, Margarita's was a fun experience. I likely would recommend them, especially their service, but there are SO MANY Mexican restaurants (and excellent ones, at that). This place is a diamond in the rough. We were driving by looking for someplace to eat local to our hotel. The service is spectacular, the food was awesome and it was very inexpensive. They have lunch and dinner specials, too. The seating was laid back, but not fast food tables. The chicken fajitas were so good that I ate them without the tortilla. They give you tortilla chips, salsa and some dip at the beginning that tasted fantastic. I need to find out what the dip was. The chips came out warm. The food was served fresh, hot and quick. Food is good and everything tasted fresh. the server was very attentive as well. It was okay. I always base my review off a classic dish. For this restaurant it was the ground beef tacos. The tacos (hard shell) we ordered fell apart immediately on picking them up. The salsa and chips served were good but never enough salsa (barely filled little white bowls) so we had to continuously ask for more. As soon as we got off Tiger Bus, we found this place in the same strip. The restaurant was quiet when we walked in (around 4-5pm). It very very clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food is great, the plate is warm when serve. The price is very decent for the quality. He got dinner combo with Beef burritos and beef tacos. I got Birria tacos (x3). First off - this place is underrated for how amazing the food is. I've had tons of Mexican food over the years, at various spots, and this is one of my favorites. The portions are huge and everyone out of our party of 8 loved their food. I got the nachos supreme - it came with guacamole and tons of fresh chicken. The ambiance is relaxing - seems like a new spot that still needs some design to it. But the service was attentive and friendly, the food was wonderful, and the pricing was on point for the quality of food. I'd definitely go here again.
