If you're dining in, they'll bring your food to the table, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me. I ordered the Bowl Combo with bulgogi, kimchi rice, salad, and sriracha, and the combination of flavors felt overwhelming rather than complementary. The bulgogi itself was well cooked, but the overall bowl lacked balance. The dumplings were also disappointing--they were dry and didn't have much flavor. Based on how busy the restaurant was, I'd be willing to give it another try and order something different. I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and just generally do not find myself in this part of town very often. We went out of our way to visit and it was so worth it! The place is non-descript and the parking lot is small, but it works. The menu had lots of good options, but is basic at the same time. The place was pretty full on a Saturday around 5:30pm, but there was no line to order at the counter. I got the burrito (bowl or taco are the other options) and filled it with bulgogi. The pineapple soy was amazing and it had the perfect amount of spice. The fries were great as well, with unique seasoning. We also got the Kokuma, which was fried sweet potato. And, the drink machine to your left. Boom! That's it. That's your tour. lol! As I got in line, I already knew what I wanted. Based on the pictures I had viewed on Yelp, I was ready to order. The line moved quickly and we were up to the register in no time. The young lady behind the register was very pleasant. She greeted me with a smile, and was ready for me to place my order. I decided to get the Beef "Bul Gogi" Burrito and Fries. The Beef "Bul Gogi" is beef marinated in a sweet/savory Korean BBQ sauce and served in a burrito wrap with Kimchi Fried Rice and the fixings. Oh yes... I needed this. Of course I decided to get the combo and pair it with fries. OhMyGoodness!!!!! I had no idea that food could be so good. The beef was tender and well seasoned. The Korean BBQ Sauce paired so well with the natural juices of the beef. The Kimchi Rice (my first time having it) was amazing as well. I provided an added texture of chewy goodness. The flavor profile of the rice was a nice balance of savory and heat. The heat wasn't a hot spice but it was a flavor spice that kicked the beef and bbq sauce up a notch. This was a true 10/10. The fries were an experience themselves as well. They were fried to golden perfection and the coating on them made them even better. They weren't too salty nor were they bland, they maintained the natural potato flavor and had the right level of salt to enhance the flavor just enough to make you lick your fingers. All I know is that Hankook Taqueria is the bombbbbbbbb and I am hooked. I have to go back now and try the Beef "Bul Gogi" nachos, quesadilla, and loaded fries. I happened to be watching local news and they mentioned it was National French Fry Day. They proceeded to show Kimchi fries only at Hankook Taqueria. I jumped in my electric car and laid rubber so I could beat the lunch rush. One car beat me to the punch so I took a deep breath, sucked in my soon-to-be expanded belly and sauntered up to the counter. The staff was so friendly and efficient giving me all the lowdown on the insane Korean infused French fries. This poutine-like extravaganza came with queso, ketchup, fried eggs, kimchi, and (my add) fried chicken! We've been devouring this place for the past 13 years and it still tastes as good as the first time we visited it. I can't get over the sesame fries , always on point. big fan of Hankook! Don't let the outside deceive you as there is a great food at a good price here. You can get a whole meal under $10 which is just crazy. I got the taco combo with fries and got the calimari taco and the shrimp taco. The calimari was okay but the shrimp taco was delish and very full! The sesame fries were also delish. Ate here again 10 years later and it is still as good as I remembered. Got the $10 two taco combo with fries and water cup. The fries are some of the best I have ever had. The tacos were crispy chicken with aioli flavor, tasted great, and filled me up. The two employees who took my order and served the food were nice and helpful. Hankook doesn't waste their time or effort with non-food items and I really appreciate that. Bulgogi: The beef was not seared at all. In fact, it tasted boiled. It was tender enough, but had a thoroughly overcooked chew to it. Another workplace order! Apparently, according to my sister when I told her about my lunch, she says that I had had this place before maybe like 6 years ago! I didn't remember, so it was like I was experiencing it with fresh eyes (and taste buds)! I chose the Beef Bulgogi Burrito with kimchi fried rice + side of Sesame Fries. When I heard there was a Korean-Mexican joint, I had to come try it. Restaurant was inviting with something to look at all over the walls. I ordered the two Takko plate that comes with fries. I choose the Crispy chicken "Tong Dak" and Beef "Bul Gogi" tacos. Both tacos we're anticlimactic. The crispy chicken was in fact crispy but lacked flavor and sauce so I got extra on the side. I dipped into the sauce alone with a fry and it was surprisingly sweet, almost like shrimp sauce. The beef one tasted like left over beef that's been sitting in a metal container for a prolonged period. The fries were crispy and yummy. The service was okay. The main girl manning the counter looks like she needs a chair or something if she's the only one there all day. She stated to the other kitchen workers that she needed to go sit down for a little and to watch the counter. The others just looked at each other in confusion. Don't let appearances deceive you. Hankook Taqueria is a little rough around the edges, if 'rough' means a veritable shack in the middle of nowhere. There's not much to say or admire about the ambiance except to warn you to expect some grunge. But for all that, it's easy to see why they receive so much love from local diners when this little hole-in-the-wall serves up some solid Korean-Mexican fusion fare with very reasonable prices. Every taco, regardless of the chosen protein, was a measly $4, which made it easy for us to order to our heart's content. The husband and I were enormous fans of the fried proteins - the shrimp, calamari, and chicken - because they weren't only well-seasoned, but also a little hotter in temperature. The tofu didn't seem to receive as much love in the seasoning department, but I appreciated its presence on the menu for all the non-meat eaters out there. What surprised us most were the sesame fries, which can be ordered both as a side, or as a combo with two tacos (for ten dollars). I appreciated the barely-there whisper of sesame oil (because I've seen other fusion places ruin their fried taters with too much of it), and there's a light sprinkling of sugar. Yes, sugar. You'd think it'd be strange, but it added a little something special that set them apart from your average fry. And paired with their chipotle ketchup? Delicious. Service was efficient, with orders taken at the counter and having them delivered to our numbered placards within minutes. On a random Wednesday night, the tables were surprisingly full of hungry diners, and there was a steady line of takeout orders, which just speaks to how little the local populace cares about how this place looks. It's a pretty small parking lot but I came for an early Friday dinner and was able to find parking! This place is pretty no frills, but the staff is super friendly and helped me with placing an order. I just got a taco combo with the beef bulgogi taco and a pork taco with sesame fries and a soda. The food came out super fast which I appreciated and I was able to snag a booth as well. I loved the sauce on each and the price to value here just can't be beat. The tempura avocado tacos are the BEST and you can never go wrong with a basket of the sesame fries (make sure you get extra of their ketchup!). Save yourself the trip and don't come here. I'm telling you right now, I KNOW there are some rave reviews, and there's some excitement because of the food network, but it is NOT worth it. The place seems like it's gonna be a good hole in the wall establishment, but after getting our food I was truly disappointed. Here's what we had: -Bulgogi Taco: 7/10 - The bulgogi didn't taste much like authentic bulgogi but the flavor of the meat was still pretty good. The flour tortilla worked with this one, but the lettuce on top tasted like it came from subway. -Grilled Chicken Dak-Gogi Taco: 3/10 - Really not a pleasant taco. There was nothing more to it than some flavorless grilled chicken and the wilted lettuce. The chicken was also room temperature. -Carne Asada Taco: 6/10 - I think this was on their limited time menu but it was carne asada topped with a blue cheese sauce and a battered, fried tomato. My first bite was not good, since the meat itself was pretty dry and lacking in flavor, but what brought it back up was the blue cheese sauce. I LOVED the blue cheese aioli, as it added the moisture and the deep, intense flavor that I was looking for. The tempura tomato was confusing; I adore tomatoes, but the batter was a little thick and it was weird to just have one oddly sized tomato on top of my taco. Interesting concept, odd execution, not a bad result. -Sesame Fries: 8/10 - I was expecting more because of the reviews but they were good! This is the one dish I would say didn't leave me wanting more. The fries are crispy, hot, and topped with a sesame, sweet, umami, and salty (yes it's complex) seasoning that really packs a unique taste. They also come with a sweet ketchup, though they don't even need it. Good fries, but wouldn't come back again even just for those. -Pork Dumplings: 0/10 - I literally couldn't even put these in my mouth. Those at my table that had them said they had a horrific aftertaste, and were even described as tasting of spoiled meat. The dumplings are fried (always unnecessary in my opinion) but the problem was the filling. After opening one I saw the inside was just a chunk of red looking meat with nearly nothing else. We asked the chef and he said the pork was salt cured, but either way, these just missed the mark entirely. Overall, pretty darn disappointing. He forgot to give me my drink cup and when I went to grab one on my way out, one of his coworkers playfully told me I hadn't paid for it. It was obvious he was kidding and we had some fun banter. My food came out faster than I thought it would so that was good too! As for the actual food, I dunno. It was fine. The quesadilla was nice and crispy. Lots of gooey cheese. The chicken was good - tender and not dry at all - but it wasn't distributed evenly at all and so my first half of the quesadilla was super light on chicken (to the point I felt slighted for the upcharge) and then the second half was full to bursting, and I didn't get to enjoy it fully because I was already pretty full. I'll also say that I enjoyed the flavor of the kimchi in the quesadilla, but it made it very soggy very fast, and it was falling apart in my hands super quickly. Some pieces of kimchi were also cut a little too large to eat comfortably. And then the fries. I was super excited to try these but wound up having mixed feelings. I thought the sesame oil gave them a little too much of a sweet taste. The chipotle ketchup was awesome though, and dipping them in that mostly redeemed them. I need that ketchup on everything! Finally made it out to Hankook Taqueria! It's definitely a bit off the beaten path and has free parking but not too many spots. Definitely a grungy looking place on the outside but stick with it! The menu here has a ton of protein options. The blackboard specials were recommended to me so I got the carne asada taco special and one beef bulgogi taco as a combo. The fries are chef's kiss and so good especially with the mildly spicy ketchup. Delish! Both tacos had so much protein and was nice - however, the carne asada taco left so much to be desired flavor and protein texture wise. It needed more oomph. I love blue cheese and all, but the fried tomato and dressing were a miss. The dressing was super thin and ran out the taco. However, the beef bulgogi was immaculate and couldn't be made better. Definitely redeeming. Coming back, I would try a different protein. My boyfriend got the beef bulgogi burrito and the rice here really hits. The rice to anything else ratio in the burrito is definitely off, but with the rice being as yummy as it is no complaints here! I most definitely will try the bowl here at some point. With the prices and flavor here, I was baffled paying for 2 people and having dinner be under $25 before tip? Definitely will be back and try other items on the menu! read more

Haven't been here in a few years and still like it very much. Got in line and started reading the menu and the specials. We normally order tacos and sometimes the Mandoo but this time we orders one bulgogi taco, and an order of pork Mandoo, and the special of the day which was a Korean fried chicken sandwich. We got our number and sat and waiting a few minutes for our warm food to arrive. Oh my goodness, the size of that Korean Chicken Sandwich arrived and it was unbelievable. I don't know how anyone would get there mouth around it so out comes the knife and fork. Glad that we ordered the sauce on the side so we could cut our chicken and dunk into that wonderful sauce. Perfect little spice. The special came with fries that were so so. Not much to write about. Just not a fan of those coated frozen fries. If you are going to serve frozen fries out of a bag there are much better ones out there. We waiting a few minutes before diving into the Mandoo as we knew how hot they would be when opened up. They were delicious. The tastes were great accompanied by a sauce that really did well enhancing the taste of both. And of course the Bulgogi taco, my overall favorite menu item in this place was great. The meat is not much to look at but the seasoning is amazing and the sesame soy dressing on the lettuce in the taco make me what just the taco bowl the next visit. Service was great. Food served quickly. The place was packed for a 1:30PM lunch and people just kept coming. Highly recommend and will definitely return. read more

My son tells me that Triple D (Diners , Drive ins, and Dives) will cover a location in Savannah that we are familiar with. Well after that location in Pooler, up came this one in Atlanta which looked incredible. The very next day I grabbed them and went to that area of westside near Smyrna northwest Buckhead. Anyways it was a rather deceiving building (isn't that the best!!!) and lo & behold awesome food to experiment. This is more of another Mexican/Korean Fusion but better than a lot of those already out there. I had the bulgogi beef which as incredibly tasty and vibrant of color and flavors. My son had the Nashville Korean hot chicken Sammy, which was good but needed more heat and maybe a smash of Kimchi to round out the Korean element, My sons GF had the sweet heat chicken tender taco which was a nice sweet Korean glaze and served in a taco. They both had fries but the kicker was the chipotle ketchup which was to die for.. I was loving that. Despite some people complaints about surcharges. The credit card charges is something that will be a mainstay however I do not support being forced to tip where service is part of the cashiers job. On this day the computer did not indicate that there will be an automatic deduction for tips of 10%. read more
