First meal off my flight was at Heirloom I came here for lunch and got Spicy Korean Pork sandwich, Kimchi coleslaw, and an apple tart. The sandwich was good but nothing crazy. The coleslaw was very flavorful and was pretty good. The apple tart was whatever. Overall my meal was decent. I liked that it was BBQ with a twist. The people working were nice and the food came out fast. It was good but not the best. I would come back and try their other items. I want to try their actual BBQ items. Heirloom Market is a great place for your BBQ fix. There was someone to greet us and explain how ordering and seating worked which allowed us to get settled quickly and decide what we like. Portion size was huge and definitely filling. What amazed me the most was the sides - huge portions that we didn't finish and took the rest home. I decided to try this barbecue spot since it's known around the metro Atlanta area for having some of the best BBQ. The service was quick and efficient, which I really appreciated. I ordered fries and a half rack of ribs. The fries were pretty good (hard to go wrong there), but I didn't love the flavor of the ribs. The meat just didn't have that rich, smoky taste I was expecting from a place with such a strong reputation. That said, I don't eat barbecue all that often, so it could just come down to personal preference. The ambience gives off that true "hole-in-the-wall" feel, as it's tucked into a small parking lot next to a convenience store. Parking is limited, but it wasn't an issue since most people seemed to be picking up their food to go. Their ordering system is really convenient, you place your order on your phone and they call your name when it's ready. I also really enjoyed the artwork outside featuring local Atlanta legends, such a creative and thoughtful touch that adds to the overall vibe. I stopped by Heirloom Market BBQ with my sister and we both ordered lunch -- I got the sliced brisket with fries, and she had the half rack of ribs with fries. The place was steady with customers, and they definitely have an efficient system. I ordered from my phone, gave my name at the window, and our food came out within about 5-10 minutes. The fries were honestly the highlight for me -- hot, fresh, and a generous portion. They do have small standing tables along the side if you want to eat there, plus some cool artwork on the wall, but we took our food to go. As for the meats, the brisket and ribs just didn't have much flavor to me, even after adding the mild sauce. I also had one slice of brisket with a softer texture that I didn't end up eating. I know a lot of people love this spot and I've heard great things over the years, so it may just come down to personal taste. A friend sent me an instagram video of Heirloom market bbq, and I'm so glad they did. I never would have known this gem existed if they hadn't. The 2 meat combo, pork and Brisket was excellent. The brisket was maybe the best I had in Georgia. The sweet and sour wings were fantastic! The Mac and cheese was good, but not out of this world good. I placed my order at around 10:30 am online. Pulled in to the parking lot at around 11:01, walked right up and was greeted. I let them know my name, and in about 5 minutes I had my order. Took I home for the family to enjoy, and had plenty of leftovers. It was easy to get in and get out with pre ordering before I came, and I'm sure I'll be back! read more

Updating my review after trying Heirloom again and having a better grasp of what I consider great brisket to taste like. This time around, I felt that the brisket was a bit too dry and undersalted. I appreciate the thicker slices, but when it's not moist enough, it starts to feel more like a block. Perhaps we were not given a moist piece, but the brisket in my opinion was still undersalted, and therefore did not carry much flavor. Our party got their 3x3 combo and the other meats were decent. The turkey was actually pretty decent (not dry like it usually ends up being). The sides were okay but I didn't feel like they were anything special. I'm still not a fan of the bread being hamburger buns - it feels so cheap and it's not the same as sliced white bread in my opinion. read more

The parking lot is still shared with a corner store. They have done a lot to make this place more inviting to customers but I wish they would get a new location. They have a patio now and do not let customers inside. They want you to use a QR code to place your order and pay. The patio does not have chairs. I ordered the pork rinds, brisket sandwich, HM Hot Chicken Sandwich, and baked beans. They gave me a lot of pork rinds for $4. The pork rinds are very crispy but lack flavor. The brisket is extremely good. The hot chicken sandwich is my favorite because it has the most flavor and it is huge. Baked beans are very tasty. Was excited to try this spot I've heard a lot about. American bbq meets Korean fusion. There is no indoor seating but an area outside to stand and eat, everything is packaged as take out. The staff were really friendly and kind. We got to try ribs, a giant bone in short rib, spicy pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. We only liked the first two, everything else had a strange flavor or was dry. The sauces that went with them were ok, some were too acidic for me. So pleasantly surprised! I missed all the signs to order online so I walked right in (oops) but they were still very nice and accommodating! The brisket sandwich was so good, and the sauces--ughhhhh I haven't had good bbq in a long time and this really hit the spot. The slaw was good too, although would have been perfect if it were chilled a bit more. I always judge a BBQ place by how good their mac and cheese it, and this was literally one of the best. The shell noodles and the cheese was perfect. We came here on a Friday around 4-5pm so we beat the dinner rush and missed the lunch rush. Perfect timing, as they said they do get very busy. The chef was so nice and gave us some free BBQ sausage to try in addition to our order, delicious. Ribs, tender juicy and flavorful. I dont think ive ever had collared greens, but here they were delicious! I cannot say a bad thing about this place. Its in an unassuming portion to the right of a convenience store. If you are in Atlanta, don't miss this amazing little casual restaurant that mixes Korean traditional foods with southern barbecue. There is no seating but they have a walled in outdoor patio with standing tables under umbrellas with fans (heaters for winter) and great music playing. There is art on the walls of patio painted by Erica Arndts of celebrities eating BBQ and the family that provides the exceptionally good food. A meal of a sandwich and a side will run about $14-15. They provide free water in a cooler on the patio but you can also run next door and get a soda (or Arizona iced tea cause they are great and 22 oz's still only cost .99). Service is friendly but be aware that when you get to the place, you need to scan a QR code, place an order, then tell the person delivering bags of food the name you placed the order under. A few words of warning: - parking is tight - tables are first come, first serve - there portions are so generous that you need to come hungry or prepare to bring food home with you - you will regret not trying it, they have a Michelin Bib Gourmand for a reason. read more

Gotta say, the brisket was flavorful and the sauce was great. The fried okra was really good too, and the dipping sauce for them was excellent. My boyfriend and I wanted to check this place out because it was on the Michelin guide with a Bib Gourmand award. We ordered online and the food took about 5 minutes to come out! Very quick service. We got a brisket platter and a pork platter, with slaw and barbecue beans as our sides. If you're deciding between the pork and brisket, I would definitely go with the brisket. It was really phenomenal, it was moist and tender (not really fatty either, which I appreciated). The pork was also really enjoyable. I haven't had a barbecue sauce like this one before. You'll definitely have to try it! I loved it. The platters come with a bun and pickles, so you can make your own sandwich if you want to. I would definitely recommend putting the slaw on your sandwich! Be aware that there is only standing room to eat -- 4 tables (maybe 3 people per table given the space) with additional counter space along the walls that could fit roughly 8 more people. I'm really not one for fusion food, but my curiosity was piqued by this Korean Southern BBQ. I had the 2 meat plate with the brisket and spicy Korean pork with mac and cheese as my side. Let me tell you: the meats were so tender with the right level of smokiness and the Mac and cheese was the perfect amount of cheesy and creamy. Ok wow...literally down the street from the ballpark is this total hole in the wall local gem. The best places I've been to look crazy from the outside but you get wowed by the food. The kalbi rib was seasoned throughout, with wonderful sesame flavors rubbed on the outside which seep to the inside.The baked beans were super flavorful. The banchan was refreshing. Ordered the tofu tacos and they were just OK, a little bit on the sweeter side for me. However, the mac & cheese was so delicious! It is a little bit pricey at six dollars for the amount that you get, but it is very worth it because it is so amazing. Also giving it four stars based on the set up, the parking lot was so congested when we went, that I would have to have second thoughts about coming here again just based on that. There was some construction going on which blocked off several of the parking spots so maybe it isn't always that chaotic. Also, there is nowhere to sit down when you go here, they have a covered outdoor area where you can wait for your food and they have some standing tables, but that's pretty much it. The crew working was very polite and greeting me immediately. Which, I needed after driving up to the place. Not what I was expecting- the restaurant is attached to a "grocery store".
