I spent days working a deal in good faith with their sales team on a Cadillac Escalade. We finalized a financial deal structure that explicitly included a $93,000 trade-in allowance for my vehicle. Based on this locked-in agreement, I authorized a hard credit inquiry. AutoNation Corporate Auto Finance called me directly to confirm the loan was fully approved based on those exact parameters. The dealership tagged my keys, cleared out my belongings, and placed a physical "Not for Sale" stock sticker on my windshield. Once my credit was run and the bank approval was secured, the General Manager stepped in and executed a textbook bait-and-switch. They retroactively slashed my trade-in valuation by $15,000, dropping it to $78,000, claiming their internal inventory calculations changed overnight. They then had the audacity to offer a pathetic $1,000 discount to make up for a $15,000 hit. Nothing about my vehicle changed. Nothing about the market changed. The only thing that changed was this management team's willingness to honor their legal and financial word. They used an agreed-upon structure as bait to damage my credit file with an inquiry, only to completely rewrite the contract on the back end. This is an unprincipled, deceptive retail operation. The deal is completely dead, and I am moving forward with formal complaints to the California DMV Occupational Licensing Division, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the California Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit. Protect your credit and your sanity. Take your business to a luxury dealership group that actually possesses basic corporate ethics and professional leadership.

The car has been wonderful and mostly my dealings with South Bay (getting the car serviced) have been pleasant. My lease is coming to an end so I started looking into my options. I decided I want to buy the car in full and had the dealership calling, texting, and emailing me asking me to come in to go over my options together so I made an appointment with Eddie. It was frustrating that I had several different salesmen calling and texting me to come in, I just picked the person who reached out first. I go in and have my appointment with Eddie, promptly tell him I want to buy the car in full, and I want an itemized list of fees. I knew to be prepared to be overcharged, however, Eddie came back with a quote for $5,000 over the residual value of my car (as written in my lease) and could not tell me what those fees were even for. He said he couldn't take them off and if I wanted to buy from Mazda itself, I had to go through a dealership (South Bay), because Mazda would not sell to me directly. He told me to call them that day, that they would tell me the same. I was floored. Eddie lied to me, several times. Mazda's customer service line was closed (it was a Sunday) and when I left and did more research, I found out I not only can buy directly through Mazda Financial Services, but also at the residual price that was given in my lease. MFS was very angry that South Bay lied to me, while also trying to overcharge me $5,000. I know dealerships don't make any money off me buying my car outright after the lease. But the way I was treated was shameful and offensive, and as a loyal customer I would have expected better customer service. I will never trust South Bay with my business ever again.

Fernando was our advisor and helped us get that safety recall handled, thank you for taking good care of us. Also because our car is fully wrapped in PPF, he had the guys hand wash it instead of sending through the carwash. Overall experience was top notch. Entire service team seems to be on the same page of providing Lexus style (luxury) service to their customers. Nice teamwork!

He worked with me on the contract, making it so I had the coverage I wanted, with a monthly payment I could manage. Both Deje and Carlos answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. They were kind, courteous, professional, attentive and created a no rush, no pressure atmosphere. I want Honda to know that they are both excellent representatives of your corporation. EDIT: Spoke with Brian the GM and he did apologize for the experience. He was extremely friendly but unfortunately what is done is done.
