UPDATE - Both customer service people who were instrumental in helping us are no longer with the company. Today it is apparent that the front end work was never taken care of properly & they keep giving us the run around - you're fine, we have no loaner vehicles available, etc - in an apparent attempt to make the warranty run out without them making the purchase right. My daughter, a single mother with small children, needed a new safe vehicle. So we went into Galpin Motors the rainy week in April & test drove a pre-owned Lincoln SUV - we liked it but needed to look at some others before making our decision. We went back days later to test drive again & negotiate the $14,000.00 price. The salesperson came back with paperwork for $13,800.00 for us to take to the bank for the loan. We told him that if we could get it for $13,500.00 - we would definitely take it. We also told him that it needed an alignment before we purchased. He came back with the verbal ok for $13,500.00 & we told him we would be back on Tuesday to make the actual purchase. We were tired & did not want to wait around to generate yet another set of paperwork. He reminded us that it may not be there on Tuesday - but we told him that if it sold over the weekend - then it wasn't meant to be ours. In the interim, among the various people we contacted in our vehicle search, was a referral to a car broker - theoretically, you tell them what car you want, how much you are willing to pay for it & they find it for you. Originally, the car broker was adamant about getting us to lease a brand new vehicle - but when he realized that he was not going to talk either one of us into that - and upon learning that the vehicle also came with a 12 month warranty - he finally took interest in the one we were interested in purchasing. He told us he had a contact that he works with at Galpin Ford & would try to get us a better price than the $14,000.00. Tuesday morning before we went in to purchase - we called him to see what price he was able to negotiate. He told us that we had to purchase through his contact - Cheryl Castagnoli - in order to get the best price & quoted us $13,800.00. He told us - per Cheryl - that they had already put too much money into the vehicle & just wanted it gone. Here's where I made my mistake: I told him we'd already done better with the salesperson that we were working with & thanked him for his time. I should have kept my mouth shut. When we did go in to make the purchase the paperwork was still at the $13,800.00 price - so we told him to please go generate the correct paperwork on our verbally agreed upon price of $13,500.00. After a long period - he came back with another person who showed us that the price of the vehicle had just been changed to $14,640.00 (possibly $14,650.00). I am certain that was Cheryl's doing because she is the head of the fleet department. A regular salesperson has to get permission with every negotiation - which is what takes forever. As it was only a $300.00 difference & we were already exhausted by the entire ordeal - we went ahead & made the purchase in mid-April - but that does not mitigate the underhanded business tactics that we experienced at Galpin. They say hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned - apparently this woman has no problem circumventing her co-workers either! This is now the last week of May - the vehicle had to go in for another alignment on Wednesday & on Thursday the car overheated - leaving my daughter stranded on the side of the freeway. UPDATE: The saving grace of Galpin Motors is the Lincoln Service Center across the street. John Gasparian is the supervisor & Brenda Alvarenga is the person who went above & beyond to ensure that our negative experience with Galpin Motors turned into a positive one! I really hope that the dealership takes into account all the litigation & legal fees Brenda has saved the company in addition to saving its reputation! read more

5 times Mustang Mach E stopped working..... latest in the middle of a highway heavy traffic stopped dead... almost clipped by 2 cars and had to push to safe location myself....... Now at dealer for a courtesy vehicle a Ford Bronco with crap brakes not working properly...... WTF?!?!?? Basic synopsis of all that Galpin have and how thrown us under the bus...... To Galpin Ford & Ford Corporate, Writing in regards to recent experience with your agency, Galpin Ford and Ford itself. Upon leasing a Ford Mustang Mach E from Dev Shahani through Galpin issues surfaced at time of purchase. The vehicle was not properly prepped before driving off the lot. Issues with onboard computer and hard drive made it difficult to initiate functions as some sort of issue with hard drive occurring and said it would be 3 to 4 weeks before it could be looked at after just I purchased the vehicle. Just complete confusion on trying to get this vehicle serviced at your location. Then upon driving vehicle started lurching forward when slowing down to come to a stop and other issues that I had reported and did take in for basic maintenance and mentioned issues about vehicle, not starting and being stranded in a parking lot for a half hour. The latter happening two more times, the latest being stranded in a parking lot with a vehicle full of groceries 106° heat with my daughter and wife. After complete confusion with Ford Road Assistance and waiting 3 1/2 hours vehicle was finally towed to Galpin by 7:30pm on Sunday, August 11. This, after several calls to Galpin and roadside assist to find out where they were, and then upon arrival spoke with the Sunday sales manager at Galpin who did not want to deal with the issue because he could see, I was visibly upset. Inquired about a vehicle in the intern as we were left stranded and confused as he's walking away mentioning something about I don't know ...." Blah blah blah..."and sat around for another 45 minutes to find out after no cars available. Confronted him again and said "is this the sort of customer service that you offer?" as he just exasperated the problems. Ended up spending $75 on Lyft rides! I have been made to jump through hoops myself to call Ford corporate find out what's going on with the vehicle to purchase back and why it won't start. I feel as if I've been treated like a number and somebody just with $ signs over my head by this whole ordeal. Galpin has put the onus on me which is clearly an error because I am not the agency representing Ford or selling product from Ford, but I'm left to do all the groundwork after problems with this vehicle and feeling disgruntled and thrown under the bus. Galpin & Ford have demonstrated, to be blunt, the old "F-O-R-D" joke of what it stands for: Found On Road Dead! Dead of any respectful due diligence when a customer experiences extenuating issues and problems. Hindsight is 20/20 and now wish I'd never been associated with Galpin or Ford after the way I have been treated. As of this posting #Galpin has had my vehicle for a month & have contacted 4 times to update what the hell is going on. read more

Patrick Wellman and Staff are the ones to speak with for your next lease or new car! I have been working with Patrick for (2) two vehicles now. In 2015, three months prior to my lease on a 2011 Ford Edge, Patrick's office came to me when I pulled in to get the final oil change at the dealership. I was introduced to Patrick, and we started talking about my future with the Edge. Without being pushy or putting me in a corner, I ended up driving out with a 2015 Ford Fusion that was within my budget and didn't get pushed into something that I didn't want or could afford. My lease for the 2015 Fusion was going to be up in June 2017. I came into the dealership to check the reasoning why, 'Check-Engine,' light was coming on and had an appointment to go to the Galpin Ford Service Center early Saturday morning. Patrick saw that I was coming in for service and called me to come see him when I brought my car in for service. Since he works only by appointment and I was lucky enough to be able to speak with him. I told him that I would prefer to get back in an Edge due to its size and security. Loved the Fusion, but was ready to get back in a cross-over. I only had three more payments till I would have been able to come back in and shop around for a new lease. Patrick worked with me and the financial guys in ties and we talked about getting into a new lease that was still affordable to my budget. He worked on his side to get me the best deal he could being a holiday weekend. I ended up leasing a 2017 EDGE and only pay a fraction more per month then I was with the 2015 Fusion. The Edge is within my budget and drove off the lot with a new lease without the anxiety of dealing with a, 'car-salesman.' Patrick and his staff are straight to the point, no-bullshit and will do what they can to put you in the car that you want and can afford. Patrick and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional. They are not your typical floor model car salesman that you loath and dread to speak with as much as you do with a lawyer or the IRS, as you curse them under your breath when you speak to them. They are the people that you can trust and you want to speak with this office to avoid the fake smile, the over-the-top-politeness that is borderline creepy when you speak with them. No, Patrick and his staff are the ones that you want to talk with when you want a new car to own or lease. I'll go to Patrick's office again once this lease is done in three years and hopefully, the new Bronco will be out by then. I was in a car accident and I purchased my first car here. I was pretty happy with the service I received on my first purchase so I looked back into buying my new car here after I totaled my car. I was introduced to RUSS DAVIS. Honestly...this guy epitomized customer service!!! And that's putting it lightly. We spent hours on the phone discussing my options based on specific/general search criteria I gave him via txt/phone...and this was over a three week span BEFORE I even step foot on the lot to help narrow down what EXACTLY I was looking for when it came to my new car. This cat was even taking time out of his weekends/evenings to answer any and all questions I shot his way about pricing,sales,rebates,warranties,trims, EVERYTHING . And again this is ALL BEFORE SETTING FOOT ON THE LOT. It made it so when I actually got there me and this guy were able to quickly focus our sights on what I wanted most in a car and how much he/GALPIN could do to get me the best car for the best deal. Usually the sales guys are steering you into what benefits their own pockets more than your own. This guy was NOTHING like that! He asked me what I wanted...he showed me what I wanted...then he worked with me to get the best deal. I'm talkin rebates, financing options....dude did EVERYTHING except lend me the money for the down. Once we found what I wanted he proceeded to go EVEN FURTHER by being my "PERSONAL SHUTTLE SERVICE" in his own car. He took me to drop off my rental car and drove me back to GALPIN in his own car mind you. I'm telling you...this guy is the real deal. And it just goes to show you what kind of personnel GALPIN MOTORS has to offer. I could not have been happier with my most recent experience with Galpin - most specifically, with my salesmen, Bobby Bell and Neil Stone. I am a returning customer since I came in to trade in one Explorer for another so I already knew I liked the car. But, for the first time in my whole life, I went alone, without my husband or my father, and did the whole transaction by myself. This was a really big deal for me! Not only were Bobby and Neil so helpful but I really, truly felt like they had my best interest at heart. They helped me understand every angle of the process and were even honest when they didn't think I would benefit from or need a certain upgrade. I'm not one to write reviews, but had such a positive experience, I'm making an exception. So I was looking at a used Mazda on CarFax, but my dad said he'd heard from someone about a great lady at Galpin, Sara in the marketing department, and that we should go look and see how much a new one would cost vs. the used. Sara was awesome, and hooked us up with a salesman named Raul Fontanills who just made the whole process so easy by just being straightforward, no car salesman BS or pressure, just gave us the facts, laid out the prices in a very clear way, couldn't have been nicer, everything you could hope for. He was totally patient, had answers to all my questions that you could tell were legit and considered, not just the sales pitch. Whenever I mentioned other vehicles I was considering, he told me the honest differences, even other brands, which bore out when I went to look and test drive. He just seemed genuinely confident in the product, you can tell when it's real and when it's the pitch, he was real. Can't say enough nice things. Go to Raul. Ended up getting a new Mazda 3, which is amazing. It is also so much better than a used CarFax 2016 model, and the prices ended up much closer than I'd have thought, maybe because when Raul heard what I was looking at and my price range he just helped us get a solidly better deal when you consider it was only a couple grand more but brand new and fully covered. I came in set on buying the Ford Focus because I was Pre-approved by Capital One for what, at the time, seemed like a great deal. When I drove into the wrong lot across the street I met "Z" who was kind enough to show direct me to the correct lot. Z brought me straight to the car I wanted and without any hassle we were out on the street test driving it within minutes. Driving with him was one of the greatest experiences I've had with a salesman. There was no constant push or sales pitch. Instead, he got to know me and made suggestions when appropriate. After realizing that the Focus was not for me he patiently showed me around until I found the Fusion ecoboost, which I fell in love with at first sight. (Don't tell my fiancé!) Z proceeded to ask why I wanted to go through Capital One instead of through their finance and explained that although I had been working on my credit vigorously, I was not confident about getting a good deal. He assured me that he would do everything he could to get me the best deal and Z delivered!! It was a long wait, but well worth it. Wow !!! Yesterday I had the incredible pleasure of visiting, then purchasing a 2012 Porsche 911S from Galpin jaguar in West Hills !!!! I had my eye on this car for about 2 weeks, and decided to inquire about it while I was having my F Type Jag looked at by John in their excellent service department. I was introduced to Hernando and Lana from the sales department. I don't write many reviews of places that I do business with but, Lana was such an absolute joy and incredible help to my purchasing decision, I just had to write this review..To make a long story short, she was the ultimate bridge between me and Jerry, my sales manager. Jerry was no nonsense, totally up front and very easy to negotiate with. The terms made sense to my wallet so I ended up trading in my Jag and buying my dream car, the 911S !!! We just leased a new SUV from Galpin Motors. My wife and I had been shopping around for over a month, evaluating our options. We live in Santa Clarita and there are a bunch of dealers within a couple of miles from our home. But we ventured to Galpin Motors (Van Nuys) and were greeted by a phenomenal sales associate-Shelby Strew. From our first encounter all the way through the final document signings, Shelby treated us like royalty!! After visiting over half a dozen dealerships and test driving 7 different brands, we settled on the new Lincoln. After making good on a rather large service blunder/issue, a few months back, the guys at Galpin Ford made me feel good enough to come back, try again and purchase my 4th vehicle from them. However, this time I have to Thank Gary Firestone and, Mr. Wonderful, Patrick Wellman. These guys are a force to be reckoned with. Gary was able to spot the exact truck, 2010 Sport Trac Adrenalin, I was looking for in the parking lot, even the exact colors which were black and blue, and Patrick was able to purchase the vehicle from the unsuspecting owners who weren't even trying to sell it. This is the 4th vehicle that I have purchased from Galpin Ford, over the years, and once again I'm very happy with the vehicle. Although, the process of trading in a vehicle, buying another vehicle and then dealing with finance etc. can be a bit lengthy and sometimes painful, these guys really do make the enitre process seem easy. I bought my car last week from Mike Mehdipour: After 8 years with my Mustang I was looking for a mid size SUV: I have been looking at cars for a few months because I had to wait for a couple of things to fall into place. Mike was ever patient and never pushy. I have walked away from cars I really liked because other sales reps at other car yards were pushy and did not inspire my trust. I LOVE my 2014 ESCAPE, I got the price, mileage, deal I wanted and more. This car is fully loaded which I did not expect in my budget. Mike & Roberto went over and above to help with some logistical problems I had. Even after the deal is done and paid for they at still there to answer little questions and help with me familiarize myself with all the bells & whistle my car has. Next year I will need to buy a car for my daughter and I wont bother looking around, I trust Mike to put her in the right car for the right price and not take advantage of her. I was a first time car buyer and i had absolutely no idea what i was doing, i took my fiance and a friend to help me out. My friend took us straight to galpin motors after having a few bad experiences at other dealerships. Every other place made it seem as though i couldn't afford anything with my credit and a low deposit. After arriving at galpin motors i was helped out by Pablo Veigel. He was extremely welcoming and friendly and at no point made me feel like i didn't belong there. I came in with a certain budget and was determined not to go over it. Pablo was understanding of that and i left in a Honda Accord luxury model for the price i wanted. I recommend everyone to him. He is extremely respectful, compassionate and will make you feel right at home. I couldn't have chosen a better salesperson.
