This place was once was a great store with a fabulous organic section and while quiet a bit more expensive then Walmart I felt the ease of location to my home and knowing where everything was made it worth it. I have been there 4 times recently as they renovated and ultimately destroyed everything about the store and I will never be back which makes me sad. in the filthy confused disgusting mess that is the new renovation Ive never seen something renovated to be uglier and dirtier! and so much harder to shop in! a valiant checker and bagger were manning the register for the 12 of us who waited in line deciding we did not want to self checkout and hey even called the manager to open another lane bc the line was so long. she refused. on top of all that I couldn't find any organic frozen vegetables just one lonely bag of mixed veg. now the organic things are thrown in everywhere no rhyme or reason! I have run into many frazzled people in the store that ran in for one thing and are circling like mad bc nothing makes sense. whomever renovated this store is an idiot and I will never be back. thank you! because I always found an excuse to go there and spend twice as much! but now it's just a shittier more confusing more expensive with far less choices and so much less human checkers it's a sad little wannabe walmart you were the upscale spendy indulgence for people in our area who didn't mind the prices for a full shop or was running in for a quick forgotten or needed item now you are aldis minus the quality, discounts, and organization. I bet this store sees a massive loss in revenue. I did not realize how long it had been since I've shopped here. But an unexpected pharmacy change for a vaccination brought me back yesterday. It feels like this Hannaford underwent a renovation, because it feels bigger with a better inventory than it used to. The aisles are wide (or wider now?), the shelves were well stocked, and numerous employees were restocking those shelves. The produce was good quality as well. It wasn't a perfect experience - how in the world can you be out of half & half?!?! Also, it felt like they should have had at least 1 more register open given the number of customers in the store. But overall, it was an enjoyable shopping experience. read more

Although I've been stopping in from time to time over the last few months, when I stopped in here primarily for your pre-packaged banana bread loaves (because I love their taste and color), I thought I went out of my mind the other day, Besides this bread, there was nothing that really stood out to me, but it was not quite an impulse buy that I needed. The item was found - but on that day - only a handful existed - I think I counted 6 on the table - and if it wasn't for the fact that most delivery people who shop at the Hannaford brand tend to miss these breads because of their uncommonness to be adequate in supply across the Hannaford brand, there's definitely room for improvement in the need to supply more of these bread so more customers can experience them and enjoy their delectableness. There were tons of other bready cakes that filled the table up, but that's not even too common to find. The register transaction went over splendidly. I hadn't known the last time that these registers took contactless payments, and the self-checkout systems here seem to have been updated since I last saw them in times before (the time before 9/22 - this past May - it surely didn't display the same way). So I'm glad I'm staying abreast of all these changes going on. I generally buy my stuff at Hannaford's in Red Hook because it is closer to me, but I do find some bargains here, and even when the five-cent deposit machines break in Red Hook, I often find this location to become one of my backup locations in a clutch. read more

Usually wouldn't write a review for a Supermarket, but if you're looking to find one there might as well be reviews for it. I've never had to do a large shopping order here as we are usually just stopping in to pick up items for one meal when we are visiting the area. I know there is a lot of competition in the area, but this is the only place we tend to shop...so I am NOT comparing this to other markets. This Hannaford always has a nice produce section that is well maintained and never seems to be lacking in fresh items. The meat and Deli areas also pretty solid and have nice quality products. I've never had a bad experience here as the staff has always been helpful and friendly. Not much more to tell you - good location, decent prices, helpful staff, clean and great produce and meats. read more

This place is a COVID outbreak waiting to happen. While checking out today I pointed out 3 people within eyesight not wearing masks. I don't mean their masks were down, they had no mask at all. I saw several other people walking around the store without masks. The manager told me that they had been offered masks but refused and that was all New York state law required. When i asked if they were concerned about the safety of all the other customers in the store, he told me it was my choice to come in and if I didn't feel safe, I could leave. If you value the safety of your family, your community, and yourself I urge you not to risk visiting this dangerous establishment. read more

This is the worst-run supermarket in Ulster County. At least 30 people in line, and only one register open on a Friday afternoon. I left my cart and gave up and went to Shoprite. The management of this store, and the entire Hannaford company (which seems intent upon experimenting so see the fewest number of cashiers they can get away with without causing a riot), should be ashamed if itself. But you would need to be capable of shame, wouldn't you? read more

I stopped in with a group of friends to do a huge shopping trip for our weekend in the area. It was about 10:30pm on a Friday night so a lot of the produce was pretty picked through, definitely not the best time to shop. I was really pleased to see all the organic offerings but unfortunately, there were only a few bunches of organic collards and kale and they looked pretty sad. I found some other healthy goodies, including natural snack foods, bulk items, and vegan staples like tofu, Earth Balance, and coconut ice cream. I plan to take another trip up to this area in the summer and will be hitting up Hannaford again for shopping. read more

Good service, great help at the Deli counter. Good meats and produce. We even found citronella candles and bug spray. Clean and efficient.

Hannafords is a good market - competitive pricing, excellent selection in all departments such as natural foods. The bakery department has really good breads. The deli has delicious salads in addition to the regular cold cuts. I like the cranberry couscous and their different chicken salads. Produce is varied and fresh. There is no comparison to Adams, which is much more expensive - or Walmart which doesn't have the good specialty items or as good a bakery. Forget Aldi. No competition there. read more

I love this store but lately they've hired some cashiers that are lacking in people skills. There is an older lady who acts bored and gets annoyed if she has to pack your bags. Always stop by here for beer that I cant get in NJ. Looks like they longer stock Keegan Ales (thusly they are dropped a star). However, they have picked up Roscoe Brewing Company, of which I got 4 six packs. At around 7-8$ for an amber and pale style microbrew, not a bad deal. Would like to see a return however of local Catskill (and greater Hudson Valley) beer! read more

Bought $194 worth of groceries. As the kid is ringing it up he is complaining how tired he is. All the while tossing my groceries to the end without a care in the world. When he is done ringing it all up he just stands there leaning up against his register. We ended up bagging all our groceries (all 15 bags). read more
