Visited here a few weeks ago when in Chicago. Got the green aeggs and ham breakfast sandwich. The wait was a little long...but that was because they cooked the eggs gresh as I was watching. It was worth the wait. Loved it! Wish I would have had time to go back for lunch. read more

Love this place and the original at Washington & Wells. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's too expensive for a regular lunch place. I get the Sergio's Special every time. I'm sure the other stuff is good, but this sandwich is great...madrange ham, gruyere, mango chutney, jalapeños - great combo. They also have great soups...the gazpacho and corn/quinoa are my favorites. The LaSalle location also does a nice breakfast. They cook your egg sandwich to order or the pretzel bagel with cream cheese and preserves is also good. read more

This review is a long time coming. Been patronizing Hannah's for several years and specifically this location for 1.5 years, since I work just a block away. Love the food. Used to go for lunch regularly, then more healthy options opened up nearby (Freshii, Protein Bar, Lyfe, etc.) so then I'd go to Hannah's for coffee meetings or to pick up a breakfast/lunch occasionally. The free wi-fi was a bonus. At that point, would have give them 4-5 stars. Over time, I noticed the service was slowly degrading. Lines were getting slow, no one was smiling, and staff kept asking to confirm what I ordered (even though their "system" is to yell out down the line what the customer has ordered). But because I really liked their food, I'd deal with it all and stop in about once a month. Would have dropped to 3 stars just because of the food. Then, about 6-8 months ago, it seemed their wi-fi stopped working (a couple times, I went in for an hour or two to do some work). Each time I'd ask about it, they said they'd "reboot the router" or "check on it". After 5-10 minutes, I'd ask again, and get the same response. This happened on 2-3 separate visits. So I stopped going to this Hannah's for about 3-4 months. This morning I wanted a change of pace so I went there to work for a little bit, thinking the wi-fi must be working by now. Ordered my coffee, sat down, and sure enough, no wi-fi. Asked about it and got the company line: "We're resetting the router. Another customer told us about it, and give it 2-3 minutes." I gave it 5, approached the same guy, and he basically gave me the run-around: resetting, wait, etc. Didn't offer to check on it. Now, I completely understand if Hannah's doesn't want customers to squat for a few hours. In that case, do what others do: give a time limit or don't offer wi-fi. Instead, the signs promoting "Complimentary Wi-Fi" are still on the counters. So I'm at the point now where I won't go for the service and won't go for the wi-fi. And because there are plenty of tasty, healthy options nearby, I won't even go for the food. read more

I was a Hannah's fan before this location opened...I would walk 10 minutes to the one on Washington because I loved their salads, soups and spectacular sandwiches so much. So when this location opened right next to my office I thought "Ohh great...now I'll be spending $100/week on sandwiches" One question though...any customer would FLIP if they received a sandwich that had mold on the bread. Why is it ok to have black rotten lettuce in your salads? The location on Washington had this same problem along with browning broccoli. Wow, I definitely had quite the opposite experience from Abby Z. As a gluten free and organic chef I was thrilled when Hannah's opened up outside the loop. Since I don't work smack dab downtown I rarely had the opportunity to enjoy their food until now. Uh-oh. I'm there a lot. Because of my profession I am pretty picky and have a difficult time finding healthy, calorie conscious and environmentally aware restaurants. But whenever I go to Hannah's I know a lot of thought has gone into the quality, nutrition content and organic accessibility of the food. To have nutritionally sound ingredients AND to be hyper aware of gluten allergies. Fantastic! And by the way, you don't need to get a sandwich that is measured in FEET people. Wonder why Europeans aren't as obese as Americans? Portion sizes!! So those of you who are having issues with the size of the sandwich maybe just think about what a real portion size is and that good quality ingredients from sustainable sources will cost a bit more than a McDonald's burger. And that's why I love Hannah's and why they are getting 5 stars from me! I wish more fast casual restaurants would be more like them. read more

I come to Hannah's often and think their sandwiches are good. Today, however, I received 1/2 of a slice of cheese on a Pesto & Fresh Mozzarella Wecken sandwich (photo attached). The cheese isn't an addition, it's the main ingredient of the sandwich. $6 for a tiny sandwich with 1/2 piece of cheese. Really? The photo of this sandwich on Hannah's website depicts a very different image. Will think twice before coming here again. read more

There was no concern for my issue (they forgot to include my meal in my catered order) and wouldn't own up to it. I have an incredibly poor perception of this company due to my experience with management. They couldn't even supply me my meal (which would have cost them $7). Good one, Hannah's. (This review is only for the Ella's salad) I will happily pay $10-$12 and give 5 stars for Hannah's sandwiches because they're uber delicious (Sergio's Special is heavenly). Just stop making "salads" if you're only going to care as little as the Ella's salad. The tiny scoops of cashews, white beans and asparagus are not nearly enough to balance the toppings to lettuce ratio of a large salad. If you're lucky you might get three grape tomatoes because that is all that will fit into the tiny metal pre-proportioned containers. If the tomatoes are bigger only two make it onto the salad...two tomatoes are a garnish not a salad topping. But the magic happens when you ask to add chicken or turkey which ends up just being a big pile of the cold cut meat piled on top of the lettuce. I don't know about you Hannha's but I don't eat a salad with my hands like I do with your sandwiches so eating full slices of chicken are kind of difficult and unappetizing with a fork. At least chop it up so in the event I'm not in the mood to just chow on plain cold cut sandwich meat, I'll have the option of integrating it into my lettuce with tomato and teaspoon of nuts. read more

Love this place....fresh sandwiches, near my office and they have GLUTEN free menu option. I don't go gluten free all the time but since my naturopath told me it could be hurting me with inflammation I have cut WAYYY back. Hannah's is much like a place I would love in that it is super Euro and modern and clean and contemporary but...there is too much smoked meat (I think all of the turkey is smoked) and they list out the calorie and sodium contents of each sandwich to their detriment...Some sandwiches are more than 1600 mg sodium! That's a lot for one small sandwich. Anyway, being a vegetarian (mostly), I did get a vegan sandwich that was pretty decent, but there was too much dressing was put on it (it was basically a salad on bread). The sides you can get are either soy nuts or almonds or chips. That's not a great selection although the chips are tasty. I would like to try their vegetable barley soup next time. The prices are kind of crazy, as noted in other reviews. My sandwich was $9+ with tax. I noticed cookies and muffins by the register but it was too late to make an informed decision about those. What's with all of the chocolate everywhere?? This food isn't necessarily health food, despite the fact that a lot of it is organic. read more

The man who handles catering here is the biggest a hole I've ever encountered in my life. I called ahead for a lunch order for some co workers, and have never been spoken to with such rudeness in my life. He acted like I was inconveniencing him by ordering, explained that there was no way I could get my order in under 30 minutes because "uhh it's right in the middle of lunch time and we're really busy." A lot of sighing, "K" responses, and just a general overall attitude. When I finally got to the store to pick up m order, they acted dumb founded that I had placed a pick up order and I saw one of the employees frantically running around the back to put it together. I love Hannah's food, and have always had good service, until this one day dealing with their catering manager or whoever handles to go orders at this location. Now, it pains me to give my money to that store knowing they employ someone like that jerk. If you're not going to be polite to your customers, don't work in the food service industry. It's pretty simple. Also, do not act like it's a complete hassle and inconvenience for someone to order "to go" when it's a service you in fact offer/ If you can help it, for the love of god, order from any other location besides this one. read more

I gave it two stars because the ingredients are great and the service is always good but... the portion size for lunch is tiny for how expensive it is... seems very disproportionate. More importantly - seems ridiculous to me not to offer condiments. I admit it - may be un-couth but I like ketchup on my breakfast sandwich - really - you do not offer ANY form of ketchup?! Now I don't go at all - LYFE has opened... the ingredients are amazing and the BFST sandwich with Turkey sausage is excellent and they have home-made ketchup - silly little thing - but makes a difference - I should be able to eat my food the way I like it. read more

Hi.- I'm a super fan of Hannah's Bretzel, and I don't usually write feed back, but this will be an exception! I stopped at Hannah's on River North, ordered my favorite Thanksgiving , with Cranberry and Brie, and to my dismay, the usual friendliness that I'm greeted with in all the other locations, like the one by Adams Street, and the Canal was lacking there. The guy who took my order basically treated me with such a nasty attitude, then threw my sandwich to the next person preparing, this person attempted to finish preparing my sandwich, but it had already started falling apart. I usually looooove everything that is Hannah's, but this time I felt sincerely disrespected. I think I'll just stick to being a loyal customer to the other locations. read more
