Have only had breakfast food here. In the past, have had French toast and pancakes and they were tasty. Had a breakfast crisp today and it was nasty awful -- don't know if it was the cook's first day or if they've just stopped caring about making edible food. Hansel and griddle in New Brunswick quite possibly might have the best salad this side of the Mississippi. Roger Rabbit would be in heaven eating at this amazing establishment. The lettuce was so crisp and the ranch was so buttermilkey. It really made my night. It made it miserable. I didn't order an effin salad. I ordered a rajun Cajun and got a goddang Lettuce wrap. So I'm giving it 3starts for the fast service only. I ordered from here a few times and been disappointed every time so I decided to write the review. I had the wedges one time and it was all soggy and I let it go thinking it mushy be hot and all the sweat made it soggy. Today I ordered Mediterranean wrap and it it SALTY so salty that I only had a few bites and had to throw it. And I hate throwing food away. This was just really bad. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap without cheese and the wrap was DROWNING in dressing. The lettuce was the only thing in my wrap that I was eating for the first few bites so I opened it up and the wrap was 95% lettuce with a few olives. Not what was advertised in description. I threw the wrap out it was so soaked in salty dressing-- wasn't even salvageable. I also used the bathroom which had no toilet paper and the hand dryer didn't work. My friend and I were the only two people in the establishment and I am not surprised. My friend and I ate somewhere else once we left. This is the first time I've ever considered asking for a refund at a restaurant. read more

Best burgers and potato wedges anywhere. I have ordered so many things from their menu from their crisps and paninis, wings and quesadillas, to the all-time-favorite tater tots (definitely try this if you're new to the place). The food is always freshly prepared and tastes amazing. The soups in the winter are to die for - always homemade by Mom. My husband is a big burger fan and swears that their burger is like no other. Easily the best place in the Rutgers/New Brunswick area. They are open until 3 am every night and the menu is huge and I never get tired of it. The online ordering is super easy and they let you customize any item so you can get it just how you like it but the best thing on the menu by far is the London broil. read more

Okay, so the food gets five stars and so does the delivery guy with his pretty blue eyes, but why did I give them one? We ordered delivery and they forgot part of our order. When I called back to let them know (because we paid for what they forgot), the girl who answered seemed annoyed that they forgot part of our order and then I was put on hold for FIVE MINUTES (yes, I timed it), and when a different person answered, he asked "what's up" and had no knowledge of what occurred and when I told him they forgot part of our order he (apparently he was the manager) said "is there anything else we forgot because you are far and we don't want to have to go back out." Oh, excuse me, we only ordered $50.50 (literally) worth of food, plus a $5 tip and you forgot what we paid for, so it should be brought back to us, regardless of location. It sucks that they were rude because the food really is good. read more

I stumbled (literally) into Hansel n Griddle one night after going to the bars in the area. I've only ever ordered the Buffalo wings and they're awesome. Definitely in my top five best wings ever tasted. Great sauce (get the hot one, it's not all that spicy and doesn't kill yoir taste buds) and perfectly crisp. Prices are affordable considering it's located in the heart of Rutgers campus. Sometimes the food at Buffalo Wild Wings just doesn't cut it so I drive an hour out of my way to come here. read more

Okay so I've been having Hansel for almost my entire college career and I will say this. Yes they are good. Yes they are convenient. Yes they are open late. But they are very inconsistent and I order the same thing almost every time and it's ALWAYS different. Whenever I ask for LESS buffalo sauce they always put more or the same and then lack in some other department. Delivery is speedy however it sucks that they raised their prices and added more delivery fees when there's still a minimum for delivery. Overall. I will probably still eat at hansel because of it's convenience. read more

So very disappointed with this crabby delivery & customer service. I had always liked the food but am always aggravated about the waiting period. My recent experience with hansel's delivery was a nightmare. I had ordered, as per usual, and my delivery had taken 2 1/2 hours LONGER than expected. I had called the restaurant 5 times throughout this transaction and 4/5 times the workers claimed they had the "wrong" number. I stood outside after my 3rd call and the delivery guy NEVER came. If you are going to spend more than $10 to place for delivery, you are better off purchasing from a place that wont make you wait 2 1/2 hours. read more

Great place to go! Menu great for all hours of the day/night. A little more than I typically spend on breakfast, so I usually just go here for lunch, dinner or a late night snack. They messed up my take-out order before, but I like a lot of their food and did not realize it until I got home, so not a big deal. They make ordering online and over the phone very easy. Food they offer is probably stuff one could throw together at home, but for the lazy college students this place is very convenient and always leaves me feeling full. I think they should offer chicken fingers on their menu alongside chicken wings. Since they offer a lot of wraps and crisps include chicken, I think it would be very marketable and profitable for Hansel. read more

i went here last week and decided to have the honey bbq chicken panini. the honey mustard had a generic flavor, i don't know if it was house made, but it could have used some more work. the chicken again, was bland. it tasted like the chicken was cooked without any seasoning, even some salt and pepper would have helped. this sandwich was also not very big. i understand a panini is pressed and grilled, but this sandwich was just chicken, bacon, and honey mustard. some cheese or lettuce and tomato would have made it much more enjoyable...i didn't finish it. my girlfriend had the "crisp" which is what they call their quesadillas, which was pretty good... its hard to mess up a quesadilla though. i will say that their smoothies are so good and easily my favorite thing to order. would i recommend it to a friend? probably not when there are better options a block or two in either direction; but if you're drunk at 1230 in the morning. i don't think it really matters how well its prepared. read more
