Oh love love love their food! Glad they stopped by my workplace as I was craving for Hawaiian food that day (in August). Love their decorated food truck and the staff and service were amazing. Ordered the Blue Hawaiian (non-alcoholic) beverage and the Luau Plate with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. The plate was accompanied by steamed white rice, macaroni salad, noodles, Napa cabbage salad and 1 pork lumpia. Absolutely delicious!!! The chicken was cooked and grilled well with savory and sweet flavor. All blended well with the macaroni salad, Napa cabbage salad and noodles. Pork lumpia was long and think with burst of meaty flavor. The blue Hawaiian was good, fruity and sweet. Plenty of food leftover enough for dinner and maybe next day lunch! Overall, really good and hope they visit again to try out more items!

Finally got to try Hapa Li this week! I ordered the pork luau plate but was given the chicken. This turned out fine because the chicken was really good. The luau plate is a lot of food and really pretty. I also got the loco moco with beef patty. I liked that you could choose how the patty is cooked. It's a thick patty and again, a lot of food. I'll preface by saying I lived in Hawaii so I may have been spoiled. I didn't love the mac salad. I am used to a sweeter mac salad and theirs is a salty type. That said, I did eat it all haha. The lumpia was just ok. The loco moco was pretty good. They cooked my patty as requested and the gravy was good. The chicken was really good. Would return and you should try them out!

Menu - can't go wrong with the luau plate or spamiyaki burger. Both are incredible.

Hands down favorite food truck. We've been eating at Hapa Li for 8 years and it has always been consistent and delicious. I wish we could eat at the truck more often, but it doesn't always make it's way out to our area. On the flip side, when we do get it, it's always a treat! We've had a few different dishes, but our main go tos are the pork luau plate and spamiyaki burger. Can't go wrong with either. This time around we got two luau plates and two sides of lumpia for two adults and two kids. With tip it was about $60. Don't let the prices steer you away. Worth every penny and everything is made from scratch and love. The luau plate is piled high with food and variety. It's definitely enough for 2 people to share, but it's so delicious you won't want to share (and I didn't want to share, but had too). When you open the container you get hit with an amazing aroma of moist shredded pork on top of nutty jasmine rice, a pile shoyu noodles, crispy ginger cabbage salad, creamy macaroni salad and a large crispy lumpia. The sides of lumpia we got were smaller then what came in the luau plate, but everyone was happy to have multiple lumpia or "yummy sticks" as my daughter calls them. I think there were about 5-6 in each box with a couple of sauces. All of us plowed through our food without saying a word until it was all gone. Then I heard from my 9 yr old and 4 yr old, "is there anymore?". Best compliment a food truck could get!

I got the Hapa Plate. A generous portion of Kalua pork on top of white rice and served with macaroni salad and Napa cabbage salad with sesame soy dressing. The pork was tasty and tender. The Mac salad was creamy and the cabbage salad with the sesame soy dressing offered a nice respite for my palate between bites of pork. An overall delicious plate of food. A definite recommendation and worth chasing around the city.

I honestly thought Hapa Li stood for and was pronounced as "Happily", but I heard the lady inside this food truck say "Hapa Lie". Regardless, I'd Happily eat their ish over and over again. It is really del'ISH. An excitement comes through my Yelp veins when I hear they are nearby. What to order you may ask? EVERYTHING is what I will say. I have not been disappointed with any of the items I have ordered on their menu. Nice, authentic flavor. And oh, I cannot finish this review without sending notable shout-outs to the staff for their attentiveness and wonderful food. I'll Hapa Li see you soon.

Amazing food truck I had been dying to try. I was finally able to track them down at the Atlantic Beach Socially Distance Food Truck rally. They normally post their locations for the week on insta or Twitter. I was able to order online prior to heading there so my food was ready when I arrived. Food was phenomenal. I got the Luau Plate which was huge. Flavors were great. My fav part the macaroni salad. A little pricey but I will def be back!

Hapa Li is my new favorite food truck! They made it easy to order online, pay and choose my pick up time. Less contact is better. And my food was ready (I was ten minutes late) when I arrived. I have tried more food trucks in the last 2 months than I have since I moved to Jacksonville 5 years ago. I have preferred food trucks over pick up in a restaurant or curbside. Hapa Li's food WOWED me! I went all in and ordered the Luau Plate with BBQ chicken, light on the teriyaki sauce, noodles but no rice. I am not a huge chicken fan but I loved this chicken! It was seasoned perfectly with the right amount of sauce and there was enough for three meals. The noodles were also tasty and were a great addition to the plate. The Napa Cabbage salad was light and crispy. And I ate it all in the first sitting. I wanted to save some for another meal but I couldn't LOL! Next time I will order a larger size which is an option. The macaroni salad was also delicious, light and creamy, and the portion was three servings for my portion size. Oh and the pork lumpia also didn't make it past the first meal. The pork was nicely shredded and oh so delicious and the shell was light and crispy. There was nothing about this meal that I didn't love. If you see this truck in your neighborhood or across town you should not pass up a chance to give them a try.

I wish I could go back in time and eat the macaroni salad from this food truck. When I worked in downtown Jacksonville, there was a food truck spot a couple of blocks from my building, and I remember everyone at the office getting excited when Hapa Li was there. Everything on the menu is tasty, but the macaroni salad is just out of this world! Do not hesitate to order it! ~ Ojalá pudiera regresar en el tiempo y comer la ensalada de macarrones de este food truck. Cuando trabajaba en downtown Jacksonville, había espacio de food trucks a un par de cuadras de mi edificio, y recuerdo que todos en la oficina se emocionaban cuando Hapa Li estaba allí. Todo en el menú es sabroso, pero la ensalada de macarrones es fuera de este mundo. No duden en pedirlo!

Feb 19, 2020: So glad that today I broke my Hapa Li tradition of ordering the Laiki Teriyaki Chicken plate and went with Sean and Steph's Daily Special -- The Chicken Katsu Plate with Steamed Rice, steamed vegetables and Island Macaroni Salad-- simply to die for Onolicious!! The chicken katsu - piping hot and so very tender - the perfect entree with that Hinode Medium grain authentic Calrose sticky rice that I so love! That broccoli and carrots medley so delicious with that tasty cold authentic island macaroni salad that I crave and love! Hapa Li continues to "ride the wave" of 5 star reviews for their consistently great food, genuine Aloha spirit and the fantabulous quick customer service that have Sean and Steph's imprint all over it! Hapa Li is Da Real Deal and if and when you see this stylish food truck, treat yourself to some incredible island goodness...you won't regret it! Mahalo Sean and Steph!!

This is a 5 star food truck in every sense! Unique and interesting with plenty of options. The plates are delicious: choice of meat (chicken, pork, steak) with noodles, slaw, and macaroni salad. They also have rice and veggie bowls. I haven't tried the burgers yet but they look and smell incredible. My friend got the bbq pork sandwich and it was awesome. Their macaroni salad is some of my very favorite and I always get an extra side. Speaking of getting an extra: the lumpia! The lumpia are so yummy and so is the sweet chili sauce they give you. I can't imagine getting something from this truck and not liking it. Definitely worth stalking their location on Instagram and driving to a nearby business park today lol.

Excellent food coming out of this truck!!! It's like a trip to Hawaii! With out the outrageous plane ticket! ;) I wanted to try everything, so I settled on the luau plate which included quite a few things....either chicken or pork ,noodles, coleslaw, macaroni salad,white rice, and a lumpia. This was a lot of food, I only made it thru about half the platter before being full. Wow everything was so good, the owners were so wonderfully nice and let me sample the chicken and pork, I actually preferred the pork it was so incredibly tender and flavorful, seasoned with sea salt and cooked in banana leaves....just delicious. It reminded me of going to someone's house and they cooked a home cooked meal for you, I loved it! The menu has a lot of other specials on it and I heard the spam burger is fantastic, so I'll be back soon to try more!!

I've only tried one dish here, but I've had at least a dozen times. The LUAU PLATE (Includes: Your choice of Hawaiian BBQ Chicken or Kalua Pork. Served with Steamed Rice, Noodles, Mac Salad, Sesame-Soy Napa Salad, and (1) egg roll) for $12.50. It's served with a side of sweet and spicy dip. I believe it's handmade because today is more on the spicy side. They even offer Hawaiian inspired canned drinks. I tried one and didn't really care for it. Mango pineapple, I believe. I choose chicken, which tastes marinated and is moist. It's easily a 2 portion meal for the price. I honestly will pass up the entire meal if their out of lumpia. Just saying. The wait is usually about 5 minutes when there is no line. I've waited 15 minutes when there was a line. Aside from my personal choice of canned drinks, Everything is so good!!

Lumpia is my favorite at this place. The pancit is not bad either. Good lunch place when you're craving for both for lunch if you work downtown. The macaroni salad is not the best and it can be a bit of a wait sometimes.

I love it when this truck is close enough for me to grab a quick lunch. I normally go with the vegan plate (cooked but not mushy broccoli and carrots, teriyaki sauce, perfectly cooked rice, and a crunchy Napa cabbage salad), but I wanted to try something different on the menu so I ordered their Huli Huli Chicken Sandwich. It came out fast and delicious! The bread was so soft and not flavorless like a fast food bun, the marinated chicken thigh was juicy and tender (easy to eat in a sandwich too, not tough at all), and it came with some crisp lettuce and a sweet pineapple relish. I ordered a side of macaroni salad and a Lilikoi Passion Fruit Soda - took me straight from a humdrum office lunch to a summertime BBQ. I can't wait for them to come around again! read more

I stood in line for 30+ minutes just for the cashier to tell me I could not order what I wanted and turned me away. I simply wanted noodles and lumpia. Not a whole Fing plate of food I would not order. There should be no reason you cannot alter your plate and take out the food you will not eat. By the time I was to the window it was almost time for closing which was 2pm so there is no reason I wouldn't have been able to order just two items without cleaning them out and not to mention maybe only 4 more people in line. I will never step foot back into this line to give my money to a truck that is rude. Thank you for pissing me off on Friday, wasting my lunch and now I have nothing to eat. read more

Wait for it! Today was my first time trying this truck and I ordered the Luau plate with chicken, since the portion was so huge I ate half for lunch and half for dinner (polishing off the entire lumpia of course at lunch!). To my surprise and delight dinner was so much better! The flavors just melded together as the food sat in the fridge. I really noticed a huge positive difference in flavor, so this might be a great truck to just take home and eat for dinner if you see it on the streets during lunch time! I also also very happy with the service as the staff was friendly and the wait time was more than reasonable. read more

I had a Bowl and it came FREE thanks to Mr. Mark B! SOOO sweet of Him! I have never been so excited over vegetables than I was after eating there's! The carrots could be sold as Carrot Chips, substitute those potatoes! They were perfectly cooked to taste perfection. The broccoli was just cooked enough to be enjoyable not sagged down. The noodles also were tantalizing to the tongue. I had the BBQ Chicken also which was very good but those CARROTS! MMMMM. I will defiantly find this food truck again just to order the Veggies! read more

The food is cooked well. This is my 2nd time eating from the food truck. Had the Hawaiian pork, which is very tender. Would be better if there was a sauce to accompany the pork. Had the terriyaki chicken combo the 1st time it was pretty good. The macaroni salad needs acid to counter balance the mayo. read more

This is by far the best food truck our office building has in its rotation. I always mark my calendar whenever they are scheduled. They serve heaps of food and each item is a winner! The food was great! I tried the luau basket and it came with rice,noodles, BBQ chicken, cabbage salad, and macaroni. I chose the chicken over the pork because I wanted to try the Hawaiian BBQ it was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of mac n cheese but this one was great it is not the orange kind but white mac n cheese and it didn't taste as heavy. I don't even know what the roll up was and it was so goooooood like a Hawaiian egg roll (better). Everything I tried I loved and the portion was a nice size, I ate it later on. I don't know what Hawaii this truck came from but must be some haole serving in Waikiki beach to the tourist. This is not Helena's or Da Kitchen... Loco Moco is not just a hamburger on rice with brown gravy and eggs. This version has no soul. Burger tastes like it is cooked on a flat top, and I think I can taste the grissle or even the scouring block used to clean the flat top. Either way it was not good. Needs to be cooked over a grill, (gas grill is okay brah). Nothing to brake da mouth over, but okay for Jacksonville I guess. L&L's in Orange Park is palatable, but this Hapa Li is a pass if you can make it to Orange Park. read more

So I just ordered the Spamiyaki burger with fries. I really wanted to LOVE this burger but it was missing one key ingredient.... the SPAM! Unfortunately I didn't have time to go back and get my order corrected but despite missing the spam the burger was really good. All ingredients were fresh and the burger was grilled to perfection! I will be returning next time they come around. Just really wish my order was correct before I departed. Customer service was great! Nice and friendly staff. "Ono kalua pig. Dat bugga broke da mouth!" That's is all you need to know. The only reason for the 4 stars is they use Jasmin rice instead of sticky medium or short grain calrose rice like a proper plate lunch needs. But it was still tasty. I only wish they came around to my area more often! read more

We ate here tonight... Amazing find! The food was fresh, hot, and amazing! I had the spamiyaki burger. Incredible! Unique, addictive, juicy burger that left me wanting more. We also had the luau plate with both the Pork and chicken. It was more than enough for 2 people with leftovers but it was so good we ate it in one seating! Yum! Last night we had the Food Truck Wars happening in Downtown JAX and I was really excited to try all the different kind of foods especially this particular food truck only because I've missed Hawaiian food so much and the fact it had such high reviews on Yelp. Anyhow, I ordered the Laiki bowl and the hubz ordered the Hapa plate. Was not happy with either dish. The Kahlua pig was dry, mac salad was full of mayo, teriyaki chicken needed more time in the marinate and steamed veggies were pretty hard. I've had plenty of Hawaiian food and was very disappointed with this place. Expensive and very little portions. read more

I was a little harsh on this truck at first. I am still not a fan of their pork as it is very salty, but the chicken here is fabulous. It is very tender and the teriyaki sauce is delicious. The rice is good as well, soft and pairs well with the chicken and sauce. My favorite thing at this truck is the macaroni salad. It is AMAZING. I am not sure if I even care for any other macaroni salad, but something about this one is fantastic. It is so creamy and the noodles are cooked very well. In addition to the good food, this is one of the few trucks where you get a good deal in terms of the amount of food for the price. Everytime you get something here, the box almost breaks it is so heavy. Another plus for this truck is their wonderful service. The guy that typically takes orders is very polite and even remembers people names, even if they have only been a few times. This has become one of my favorite food trucks around. read more

Now I have eaten from this truck 3 times and they have been out 6 times. I don't do that very often. But, Sean and Steph have blown me away every time now. I have eaten most of their menu or at least all the parts of all their dishes. I do like that everything is cooked when you order it. I saw them today cooking everything to order today as they were hit with the biggest crowd that they have faced to date. I started out with their kalua pork and then moved to the teriyaki beef and now the spamiyaki burger. I will say that it took a bit to get my food but I knew it and did't mind. My burger was absolutely terrific with flavors that just plainly worked. The grilled spam with a teriyaki glaze added a certain flare to the whole burger. The seasoning of the burger worked well also. In all a really good burger. The owners Steph n Sean are from Hawaii and did a long stint in Costa Rica which is almost a surfers dream land. Being surfers they also know how knew how to cook. They decided on Hawaiian from both if their heritage. They sure do it right in this guys eyes. Their menu is stuffed full of island favorites. I really can't wait to eat some more of their menu. There most be something I haven't eaten yet. read more

So I've been trying to find this food truck I think for over a year. Most of the time I dont see it anywhere near wherever I'm at. Found out today about every 2 weeks the guy said they're out in the San Marco area. Today they were out front of 1301 Riverplace Blvd. The food was delicious. First time trying this Food Truck today. I got the Laiki Bowl with chicken and the Veggies. My first impression was great scenery to order with the music and then received my food and it was a huge portion and the food was awesome! If you haven't had the chance to try it I would highly recommend this Truck and they offer gluten free items! A must Try! read more

Excellent, absolutely excellent! I tried the Spamiyaki Burger today, and I don't think I've ever been moved by spam in my life. Seriously, it was to die for--crispy and just enough teriyaki to be present but not overpowering. The food was reasonably priced and the service was top-notch. THIS FOODTRUCK IS AMAZING. I am obsessed with their macaroni salad. I am not a huge fan of chicken thigh but I will eat it if they cook it. The only item I have not had is the burger and that is because I just always go for the luau plate -- with pulled pork, no rice, and an extra macaroni salad. The lumpia are amazing, the service is amazing, and if I ever had a private event that I needed catered I would hire them in a heartbeat. read more

A friend tipped me off about Hapa Li being at Beach and ST Johns Bluff during the huricane (well that Saturday). I too like so many others ventured out! Being born and raised in Honolulu I was skeptical but was so ecstatic! It truly is a taste of home. Da Kalua pig is so ono and tender - not dried out like most people make it. Today I found them out in the prominence parkway business park and it was a perfect treat!!! The food is beyond reasonably price and the service is great! As I drove into the Bartram clubhouse parking lot, I was happy to see the truck still there. The service window was open, and there were no visible signs indicating that you were closed. I walked up, took a moment to look over the menu, and was ready to place a fairly large order. Unfortunately, before I could say a word, I was abruptly waved away by a staff member who told me they were closed--in a tone that came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. I completely understand that closing time is closing time, and there may have been circumstances I wasn't aware of. However, customer service doesn't end the moment service stops. A brief, courteous explanation or even a simple apology would have made a big difference in how that interaction felt. I came ready and excited to support your business, but instead left without food and with a very negative impression. As a military veteran who has spent time in Okinawa, I have a deep appreciation for food that brings back meaningful memories, and I make a point to support businesses that offer that connection. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Great food is only part of the experience--how customers are treated, even in brief interactions, leaves a lasting impression. Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, the fries were the biggest disappointment. They were extremely salty and mostly made up of the small broken pieces you usually find at the bottom of the bag. I also didn't like they snuck in an increase to the tots prices when I got to the front; their sign above says sub tots for $2 and so did the menu they sent us ahead of time, but at the bottom it says $3. Not worth making a fuss over a dollar though, just kind of mildly annoying in the moment, but I also saw that the loaded tots were up $3 over what the menu had shown. But either way, if they ever came back I would still probably order again.

I ended up ordering the coconut shrimp, which the person who took my order said was one of their specialties and I added on the coconut hush puppies. Given that they had a huge sign saying that their cheese balls were amazing, I grabbed an order the mozzarella ones as well. I must admit that I was a little confused as to why a seafood place was selling cheese balls...but, oh well, I love fried cheese. I was told that since I hadn't placed my order online ahead of time, as I didn't know that was an option, my order would take 52 minutes. I was given a time to return to the truck. Nearly an hour wait is a long time for truck food. I tend to think of food trucks as a great go-to for a quick meal. I mean, even an hour wait in a restaurant for food is a ridiculously long time. Nevertheless, I agreed and paid. My order was ready right on time! I was able to skip the line when I arrived back there and received their text and everything was correct when I checked the boxes before leaving. Nearly everything was also overly fried including the french fries which were dark in color, hard, and difficult to eat. The shrimp were large and nicely breaded and they had a good flavor to them. But the coconut hush puppies were burnt in places and had no appreciable seasoning or flavor aside from coconut pieces. I guess I was expecting the usual spices in a hush puppy with the addition of coconut. And the cheese "balls" were melted discs of breading around some of the cheese. They were still edible but not what was advertised. I remember trying a brie ball from Nomi's Cheese Bar at Gastrofest years ago and what I got was much more successful back then (see pic). It looks like these companies have merged or perhaps they are the same folks?!?! The issues on the night that I went may have been because of the crowd or because their oil temperature was too high. I wish I had tried something that didn't require a fryer to be able to better asses their flavors. This truck seems to have potential but I just didn't have a great experience, particularly given the relatively high costs of the food.

I shared the order of four with my niece. The haddock exceeded my expectations! The piece of fish was huge so I split it into two meals. The fish was flaky and the batter was nice and thin how I like it. And packed with yummy flavor! I heated the remainder on my baking stone the next day and it was oh so good. I will most definitely try another meal when Island Girl pops up in my neighborhood again!

The owner and staff are wonderful people working hard to bring the Hawaiian-Filipino taste to the Jax Community! Reminds me of when I visited Hawaii in the past and I just miss the islands! It was during early lunch so it was quiet at first but later saw folks coming through for lunch. My colleague never had Hawaiian food so the owner and I recommended a few dishes -- he chose the Loco Moco, Hawaiian-comfort food. I missed the garlic shrimp back then, and so luckily they had it in the menu -- Hawaiian Fried Garlic Shrimp!!! It was fantastic! The savory and super garlicky taste of those fried shrimps (yes, they had the shells still on, but that's the best part). The shells were crispy/fried enough and covered in the garlicky sauce that you can just eat it. Some folks may have other opinions, but I'm used to eating it this way in my culture as well. The fiesta rice was seasoned well and the Hawaiian Mac Salad was wonderfully semisweet and seasoned well too. Always great vibes by the decor and the owners!

They close too early at night: 8 PM on a Friday. The setting is simple. Some of the seating looked uncomfortable, e.g. a bench or tables along the wall with wood at your back. We got a table with four plastic chairs, however, which was comfortable. Our server was very nice and friendly, though she had more work than she could handle without issues. They add 3.5% (reflected in the prices above), for using credit cards. With a soda ($3.36 for a can) and tip, the total for two shared courses came to $35.

And i go during different times of the day/ different crews same wonderful experience! We had the braised short rib and I had my usual salmon on this Thursday and wow!! Plates went back clean and I truly enjoyed the service that Sarah provided during our lunch... I'm grateful for Biscotti's... please keep up the greatness you all have going on in that kitchen... WOW!! Oh and I enjoyed their sad girl summer drink, Lol it was so delish! Biscotti's be doing it!! (Sadly, the lobster Reuben isn't back on the menu...I hope the chef find a way bring this sandwich back to the menu).
