My first time trying a sushi burrito, and Kazu Sushi Burrito did not disappoint! The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were amazing, and the portion size was generous. It was a fun and delicious twist on traditional sushi. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

Pretty decent portions and fresh! l liked the flavors of my Spicy Tuna and Smoked Eel Poke Bowl. This is the type of entree that I love to eat with chopsticks because there was just a lot going on in my bowl. The Poke Bowl was about $13-14 and with DoorDash, it's going to run you about$20. Well worth the money because that's what I was craving and it definitely hit the spot.

My second favorite Kazu Sushi Burrito location! I love Kazu Sushi Burrito! Seriously, I do. It is amazing and I love it. I love all of the locations but the Butler is my favorite! However, this one is much closer to work which makes it convenient! They also have delivery through Bite Squad other 3rd party apps which is great on days when I can't leave the office. The food is great! I love sushi burritos. I had no idea what was missing from my life until I tried one about 3 years ago and from then on, it has become a regular part of my life. Think about subway but sushi style and one sushi roll enough to make you stuffed! First off, they have more than just burritos. You can also get salads or rice bowls. They have a great variety of proteins including salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, eel, tofu, tempura shrimp, steamed shrimp, spicy tuna, krab, spicy krab and many others. They then have fresh veggies, fruits, crunchy items and many types of textures to add and customize your creation. You can then top with sauces such as spicy mayo, eel sauce, shrimp sauce or dressing. This location also has hibachi bowls which are absolutely fantastic!!! They have steak, chicken and shrimp and are big enough for lunch or dinner. In addition, they also have wontons, dumplings, mocha and drinks. Please give them a try, you will not regret it, I never have!!!

Quick bite for Japanese food craving. As the name implies - sushi rolled into a burrito for easy eating. They do have hibachi and poke bowl too. Additional $ for any add ons. They have some inside and outside seating. If you want authentic Japanese sushi eating , then this is not the place for you.

Sushi on the go for the modern man. Kazu Sushi Burrito has taken off like wildfire after their first fast casual concept, it only makes sense to open up shop Downtown for the hungry lunch crowds. Even though I'm not eating sushi burritos as much as I scarf down tacos, one of the things I love about Kazu is their fresh ingredients and staff efficiency. Those are two elements you cannot deny when checking these guys out. Burritos or bowls are your primary options. The burritos are just a fun idea, and dipping creamy shrimp style sauce into a giant handheld sushi roll keeps me calm at night. Raw or cooked options are available just like a regular sushi restaurant. The Poke Poke always comes up clutch! Looking to avoid lines? Come for dinner before they close. Maybe you'll even find a free spot right in front! Also, is there a way for them to team up with Volstead next door? Something about Sushi Burritos and craft cocktails excites the hell out of me!

So this is my second review to this location. This place really upped their service. BRAVO ZULU to this location. If you ever go to Artwalk ever 1st Wednesday of the month I recommend stopping here for a bite to eat before venturing off into the juncle if arts and crafts of local vendors of Jacksonville. Steak and Shrimp Habashi Bowl was fresh and pipi g hot. The broccoli and the zucchini was cooked to perfection retaining the crunch of a fresh vegetable all while accepting the flavors of its surroundings. Shrimp sauce added another level of ambiance without ruining its original flavor. I say, "it is always beter to add than subtract from" a dish. I thought there was not enough rice in the bowl cause I couldn't see the rice, at first. That was due to all the vegetables and meat that was on top of the bowl. I recommend mixing its all like a japanese fried rice with shrimp sauce to adhere to ever element in the bowl. It was so delicious. Shrimp Tempura: Freshly fried, hot, and crispy. I know this restaurant uses shrimp tempura in their sushi burritos so I was hoping their weren't going to use their leftover shrimp and make new shrimp for their kazu sushi burritos but nope, they did not do this which was pleasantly surprising to my mouth and my tongue. I still have no taste on that burnt tongue, but well worth the pain for fresh shrimp. Topped it with Shrimp Sauce also. They seriously need to sell this in Publix. I would buy a lot of Shrimp Sauce. Garlic Edamame: Backstory: I first tried Garlic Edamame at Hawkers there on 5 points on Riverside. It was really good. So call me surprised susan when I found out they serve this dish here too. I had to order it also. Edamame is good regular, but garlic just adds something more. Its was amazing here also. Fresh and hot right out of the frying pan and into the plate. The garlic was fried longer that added a crunchy season onto a hot pea seed. It was delicious. What makes fried garlic so good? These guys really l improved since my first review and I am glad they got redemption from my this review.

I was in downtown Jax for work yesterday and I saw this place. The idea seemed interesting (sushi burrito!?!?) so my partner and I stopped in to give it a try. It was just after lunch time and it only seemed that there was one person working in the entire place. The guy seemed nice and I know he was trying to be very helpful but there was a relatively large language barrier. The guy working also had to run to the back of the store several times to retrieve something. I had a spicy tuna roll and it was fantastic. I felt like THIS is what I've been missing when I order sushi. I want substance and I got it here. The roll was large and didn't skimp on meats. The roll tasted fresh and was well worth the money. If I was rating the food itself I'd have to give 5 stars. The soda machine was one of those cool ones where you can make basically any type of drink you imagine so that was a nice touch (I made a peach coke). One thing that I felt there should have been was a cheap side...like chips or something. While sitting in the shop I FELT like there should have been a wall with chips I could choose from, but there was nothing. Cool please to eat overall and it's a really cool idea, I will recommend this place to my friends.

This place is a hidden gem! A block away from Hemming park, which is one of my favorite downtown places to farm for pokestops, Kazu Sushi Burrito is a small quick serve restaurant that lets you choose your own adventure, and that adventure is damned tasty! I am not a fan of a lot of seaweed, so I haven't tried a burrito yet. I believe they do have other options for a wrapping, however, so don't let that deter you! I just like the poké bowls too much to deviate! They have just about every topping under the sun! You can order a bowl with pre-selected ingredients, or go rogue and make your own. I highly recommend the peppered tuna and anything katsu! Mango and pineapple if you're feeling daring, and any amount of veggies you choose! You can even get chunks of cream cheese, which is an indulgent addition I really enjoy! Drink-wise, there's one of those nifty freestyle coke kiosks. This place really forces you to be independent, which is a good thing! You can even get mochi for dessert, and if you haven't had mochi yet, you haven't lived, my dude.

This is my happy place. I must've waited for only a few minutes, I don't even remember because it happened so quickly. Let me take this moment to praise the chef's service. He was working solo. A man of a few words, but smiling and friendly. He waited politely until I spoke my orders. Can someone give this man a blindfold?! He could've put together my orders with his eyes closed. A person would not be able to finish a cigarette by the time this chef was through. The ingredients tasted fresh, the service was fast, the rolls didn't fall apart while eating--oh, but one thing: there was way too much fish than expected. Ugh, disappointing or what said no one ever.

Love the variety that they give you to make your own Poke Bowl or Sushi Burrito. They have the regular menu options, but the build your own is the best way to go. Stopped in for lunch and I was full/ satisfied off of half of my Burrito. I walked in just before the lunch rush.

Welcome to the Subway of sushi! Walking in, you'll need to proceed to the end of the counter and place your order for a bowl or wrap. First is the protein, then your veggies, toppings and sauce. From start to finish, you'll get a freshly made custom lunch in just a few minutes. I went to Kazu with a group of friends. The four of us checked the menu and ended up with 2 bowls and 2 sushi burritos. I got chicken and spicy krab rice bowl and topped it with mango, carrots, edamame, corn, and yuzu sauce. It had everything I like and they get bonus points for having brown rice. The two friends who had burritos both ordered the dynamite which is not fried, but rolled in bacon bits if I remember correctly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their lunch and I plan to go back again soon. With all the different protein/veggies/topping/sauce options, it would take you a long time to try all the different combinations. I love places like this where I can get what I like quickly without suffering quality. Nice to have you join us downtown, Kazu.

The restaurant was packed, so it did take a little while for someone to take our order. It was also pretty loud, but that's to be expected since it's a popular late-night spot that's open until midnight. We decided to try somewhere new last Saturday night and were told about a 30-minute wait, which is usually a good sign as the place was packed. They took our number and texted us about 20 minutes later when two seats opened at the hibachi bar. Grabbing those seats was the best decision we made as we were entertained by both the hibachi chefs and the sushi station all night. The chefs were interactive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what they do. Our waitress, Jennifer, was absolutely on point, accommodating, polite, and happy to offer recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp tempura, bagel roll, and spider roll for sushi, along with the shrimp and steak hibachi, which she thoughtfully split onto two plates for us without even being asked. The sushi arrived first, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Soup and salad followed, then the hibachi entrée , all timed perfectly so we never felt rushed or overcrowded with dishes. The shrimp was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly, and the fried rice seasoned just right with herbs and spices that complemented the entire meal. Every part of the experience flowed from start to finish. A return visit is already in the works this month. Highly recommend this spot and major thanks to the employees for being at the top of their game! Truly a 5 star experience.
