#3, veggies in, no jalapeño and extra mayo. Chips & drink combo for here. This has been my order for the better part of 15 years, and half the time it's already rang up for me. I may go there too much, but this is hands down my favorite bahn mi place. Crunchy, fresh and cheap. Sometimes I'm sad halfway through the sandwich, since I only have half of it left. It's been a while since my last visit but I decided to come here and treat myself to a yummy bahn mi and a taro boba for lunch. I'm so glad to see they open early at 9am and close later at 8pm. This is definitely a popular spot for the local since there were quite a few people coming in and out around 10:30am on a Friday when I went. Plenty of parking in the lot shared with a few other businesses right across from the Cedar Hill Crossing center. When you first walk in, you see the big case of steaming buns. They were around $4 each but they were HUMUNGOUS! I didn't get any this time but probably will return and try them next time. I forgot they also sold baked goods there and was so happy to see the $2 price tag for my favorite red bean buns. (Sorry forgot to take a picture of the bakery shelf but they had many options like bbq pork bun, pork floss buns and custard buns too.) The service wasn't overly friendly but they were fast and efficient and definitely knew what they are doing. The blended taro smoothie I got satisfied my craving and they were definitely generous with the amount of fresh sweet chewy boba. I got the BBQ pork bahn mi. The baguette bread was perfection - crunchy on the outside (but no the hurt the roof of your mouth kind) and pillowy and soft on the inside. I didn't feel like the carrots and daikon radish were pickled enough and although I had a good amount of BBQ pork in my sandwich, a lot of pieces were very fatty or almost all fat. It was still super tasty though, especially for the $6.50 price tag you really can't beat it. Can't wait to come back and try other bahn mi sandwiches and get one of those giant steamed buns too! read more

The grilled pork banh mi is a hit (cue chef's kiss). The baguette is crunchy af too! It has a slight spice to it from the jalapeños, so if you don't like spiciness, make sure to let them know. I tried to call before heading over and the number goes straight to voicemail, which I understood why -- there is an endless line of people waiting to order in-person. I'll definitely have to try ordering off Yelp since I plan on returning! read more

This was my first time here and it will be my last time here. I ordered the #1 (Best baguette), not good. First of all, the baguette was dried out and hard, when I bit into the bread it was shattered, it was like a baguette grenade. The amount of meat was almost non existent. There was literally 2 shreds of daikon, 2 long stems of cilantro with 1 leave on each stem and excessively overloaded with shredded carrot. The jalapeño was cut julienned into 3 pieces, not deveined or de seeded. The staff was nice, and the tables were clean, which I do not find at very many places anymore. I saw this establishment in a magazine featuring the top 10 sandwiches in Portland area. I was very excited to check this place out, but was let down and borderline offended by the quality of the sandwich. The pics in the magazine were amazing but did not align with the actual product in reality. This is quite possibly the worst banh mi sandwich I've ever had, such a let down, a Bahn mi made properly with love is such an amazing experience, and is not very difficult. On my way out, I went to get a refill on my soda. As I pressed the fill lever on the dispenser, the soda sprayed out all over my hand, shirt and floor. I tried another dispenser and got the same result. I looked under the dispenser and found the nozzles had been removed, I asked the staff if they had removed the nozzles, they confirmed yes, that they were cleaning them. I asked why would they do this with customers in the store, you do this at the end of the night after closing. People are using this soda dispenser and the staff posted no signage, warning them. What a bunch of morons!! this type of B.S. will definitely chase the customers away. I definitely will not be returning. read more

House made bread every day delicious!! Extremely unique and delicious menu with classic French with a Vietnamese twist! Spot on Asian classics by steam buns and curry perfect. Add bubble tea and a huge selection of unique drinks, Including smoothies You're not gonna find anywhere else. Combine that with friendly fast efficient service wow.. clean tables classic aesthetic! The banh mis at Best Baguette has always been great, but recently, the quality of food seems to be more delicious. The folks there are also very friendly and nice. We've never dined in, but the ambiance seems enjoyable as well! I tried their chicken banh-mi recently and it was delicious!! I do want to note, that if you decide to opt for veggies on the side, remember to double check whether they included it in the bag. Came here for a quick lunch with a friend. You order with the cashier and food came out very quickly. I ordered a #1 Special Banh mih and it was so good. The baguette was fresh and the highlight was definitely the pate which was so creamy and really brought all the items together. The banh mih itself was also quite large in quantity. I love Best Baguette! My go to Bahn Mi choice. My favorite is the #9 BBQ Pork. We've tried several but that's My favorite. Vegetables are nicely pickled, crisp and obviously fresh; Jalapeños and cilantro are fresh and the bread is always crisp on the exterior and pillowy soft on the inside. I think the drinks are over priced but the sandwiches themselves are well priced and so delicious that on occasion I will spring for a drink. Just feels crazy to pay more for a Milk Coffee than a sandwich! Service is always good no matter which location I have visited. Polite and respectful. I am a huge fan of the drive through window at the Powell location. Also like the atmosphere of the Beaverton spot. read more

The name for this place is right on point. They bake a lot of bread here. It's all delicious. The service is friendly. Even on a busy day they are still pretty fast. There's many different bánh mì here. I like the #1, 4 & 6 the most. The small cost and generous portions are very much appreciated. Especially when one bánh mì will fill me up. There's really cool pictures on the wall from Vietnam that are done really well. Adds a cool vibe. Definitely one of my must visited spots in town. read more

I used to love this place, I had given it 4 stars before, but not anymore. I think our on/off relationship is over for good this time. It use to be due to lack of consistency, now it is because it's been consistently not good. We had the pork and chicken baguettes. They are big, but there was little chicken in the chicken sandwich, the pork had a normal amount. There was also no mayo or so little we couldn't taste it, so it was a super dry sandwich. The bread wasn't so fresh, kinda crumbly. The sandwiches also smelled weird. I gave my friend the cream puff, she said it tasted old. I tried it, it didn't just taste old, it tasted absolutely rotten! I am just glad that we didn't get food poisoning. I forgot to take photos of the sandwiches because we were hungry and ate fast (but didn't enjoy it!), but my friend has the receipt. I was a fan since 2009 when sandwiches were $2.50, now they're $7, but the quality and taste has gone super downhill, which is sad. It was my choice where to go this time and I chose here, but now I must treat my friend 2X to compensate for this huge disappointment. read more

Solid place for a fresh and huge bahn mi sandwich. I'm partial to the grilled pork, but it's all good. They made an excellent peach green tea (half sweet) for me. I'm sold, will probably have to get a bahn mi every time I'm in this part of town. There was a steady stream of customers while we were there on a weekday evening. I was persuaded to try this place after someone suggested it in another review. Honestly really good beef banh mi. The bread is fresh and lightly crunchy. I did take it to go and add chili crisp oil. Pure perfection. Not overpriced like some places. Staff was kind and welcoming. Came back a second time in one week because I enjoyed it that much. read more

Used to love going to this place but the service was extremely poor. We had ordered drinks and a sandwich and the two girl staff members made our order wrong. I'm on a mission to find the best bánh mì in Portland and this is it. It's taken 8 different restaurants across several months. I had almost lost all hope that I'd ever find any as good as back home, so I'd ordered Best Baguette on a whim after hearing people rave about it on Reddit. I had their special delivered to my door before a 6 hour roadtrip. I didn't even take a photo before I started eating on the drive, but quickly realized my mistake so here is half of the sandwich. This has alll the fillings, they didn't skimp on any veggies or meat. They also have Vietnamese mayo!!!! You don't realize how much you miss that until you go several restaurants without it! Short: One of my ultimate faves for Banh Mi, must go and eat! Visited week of Sept 16th 2022. I am a regular here when I am in the area. I go every single time I can. I do get the same Banh Mi sandwich, each and every single time. I am basing my review on my food solely. I was not entirely happy with the customer service experience, but I am assuming the person was new to working here and food service. Because they had a hard time listening and finding things on the menu. I didn't appreciate having to repeat myself over and over. As I did not ask any questions, I simply placed my order as usual. On top of which, I was given a "look" for selecting not to tip her. [The food & price]: I get the Green Onion Tofu Banh Mi, and I am biased in saying this is my FAVORITE sandwich on the planet. When I first started coming, it was $4.35, and now it is [$6.45]. The banh mi is on a freshly baked french baguette, it has house mayo [similar to japanese mayo, a bit more creamy, different taste], pickled radish & carrots, and jalapeno slices. I really appreciate all vegetables vertically cut. Along with tofu with glass noodles and green onion. It is simple yet complex and so flavorful! They will ask you if you would like the veggies inside your sandwich or not, and/or if no veggies. They also have a handful of traditional Vietnamese asian dessert and French desserts as well. I definitely would like to try it! They also sell other bakery items and baguettes. Along with smoothies, boba tea, can selection of drinks, coffees, and italian soda. Overall, definitely great quality and tasting banh mi, one of my absolute faves! Just need to tweak some aspects and then definitely earning of 5 full stars from me! read more

FAVORITE BAHN MI SPOT I'm so passionate about this, yet to find a better place for bahn mi in the Portland Metro (although I'm open to finding one). Came here to grab a quick bite because we were waiting for a different place to open up. So happy we stumbled upon this place! We got the special banh Mi and the grilled pork banh Mi, both were delicious. The baguette is perfectly crusty on the outside, pickled vegetables are fresh, and the meat is very well-seasoned. We also got a large iced milk coffee. The coffee is definitely strong here, as it should be! It is sweet but without overpowering the coffee taste. We also got a large meatball bun. It's huge! We could only finish half after each having a sandwich. This bun is only available thurs-Sun, highly recommend trying it. It is definitely homemade and not frozen. Overall very happy we came here and will definitely be coming back. Probably one of the best banh Mi I've had because of the baguette! read more

Just came for a light meal. Staff were friendly and service was fast. I was bummed they didn't have the meatball steamed bun. I thought about getting some things from the bakery area but then couldn't figure out exactly what they were and in those moments of contemplation decided I probably didn't need that many baked goods. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!

A key fact, they only serve one size sandwich a 12 inch. I ordered the chicken with pepperjack cheese, hot peppers (they are hot), black olives, pickles and mayo (I will share that you might ask for a smaller spread of mayo if you are not a huge mayo fan), my son ordered the Supreme with steak, mayo, unions, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, mushrooms and steak sauce on a soft white roll. The bread was amazingly soft and holds up well with all of the toppings. The sandwich taste was amazing, it took about 8 min or so to get our order but well worth the wait, they sandwiches were packed with toppings, nice and hot proteins, we also ordered fries with cheese dip, the french fry order was much larger than expected glad that we shared them, the cheese dip is also very tasty. One of the very friendly employees a young lady, sorry I did not get her name came over and immediately started to brew a fresh batch. I was so happy to see an employee take immediate action without prompting. She is a keeper. The food , I love the Italian with spicy peppers with all the fixings, it did not disappoint. It's one of the better Italian sandwiches out there. I liked the fact that Potbelly has very consistent sandwich prep. I appreciate the friendly staff and clean building.
