We all know that there are many options for nail salons, and for me the most important aspects are: location, price, cleanliness, friendliness of the technician, and of course, the final look of my nails. I was torn on a rating between 4-5 for Happiness Nails and Spa for the following reasons: - location great, easy to find parking, safe neighborhood - prices are comparable to other nails salons in Orange County, but I wish there was a pedicure option between the basic and the next level up - the salon feels clean and the technicians use clean tools but the salon is also showing it's wear and tear  - the staff is always friendly and welcome, especially Lana, Cathy, Amanda, and Nancy My first visit to this salon was years ago and during a pedicure, the technician cut too close causing bleeding so I was hesitant to go back. But I have now been going regularly for over a year and have had mostly positive experiences. Lana is my preferred nail technician for dip powder, I won't go to anyone else now and I don't know what I would do if she ever left! read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience honestly needs to be shared. This was supposed to be a fun day with my friend, and it turned into a really disappointing experience. I called ahead to confirm they offered Gel-X and was told yes. When I arrived, the tech spent 15-20 minutes trying to find sizes that would fit my nails, even attempting to file them down to make them work. The selection was extremely limited, and the only options were very long.. nothing fit properly. After already cutting and filing my natural nails, I ended up having to switch to regular gel because there simply weren't proper Gel-X options available. At that point, I didn't have a choice. The pedicure was just as disappointing! My feet were still rough with dead skin left, and the service felt rushed and incomplete. What bothered me the most, though, was how I was treated. I have visible marks and a scars from surgery, and the technician repeatedly looked at my feet with noticeable discomfort and disgust. There was no effort to make me feel comfortable it actually made what should have been a relaxing experience feel embarrassing and uncomfortable. However I do give them credit on doing a decent job on cuticles not horrible. Though to top it off, I was charged the same as my friend, even though she received alot more services and a better overall experience. I have been coming here for several years and have my 2 favorite girls and I don't have any complaints about them at all. What I am disappointed in is she keeps raising the price. There was a price increase last year and they discontinued the stamp cards that give you money off when you fill a card. Well today I went back and got dip on my nails and gel on my toes and it was $116.00 (without the tip) I Feel like that is out of control. Absolutely the worst!! First off it's the second time I've had this technician. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, that she had a bad day last time!! She cut me and caused an injury to my toe.! This time I said No to the scrubbing and she still grabbed my foot and tried, 2xs! I had to force her to stop!! The gel pedicure is 47.00. Half of my toe nails aren't even painted! There is more polish on my skin. It's a hot mess!! I'll be going somewhere else to have it redone!! But that's not the worst part about this horrible salon!! I was with my daughter.. I paid cash for 2 gel pedicures which is 94.00.. ridiculous ! My daughter wasn't done and I had to leave. I came to get my young daughter's nails done and I told both of the nail techs that they only wanted their nails done (not their toes). They were very shady and charged me for manicures and pedicures. I had told them before they started that both girl did not want to get their toes done but the nail tech chose to put them at a pedicure station even though she knew my daughter didn't want her toes done. Update: so I loved everything at first. I paid $57 including tip. One of my nails has already lifted and is ready to fall off. It has been 9 days since I initially got my nails done. Not shortly after my nails being done, did my nails start having air pockets on the sides letting water in (which I'm pretty sure is the cause of my nail lifting) needless to say I'm sad about my nails. I really loved them but I can't just keep super gluing them to keep them on:( nothing against the nail tech or establishment. I have had horrible experiences before with acrylics and I really didn't want this place to give me a bad experience. Gotta shout out my regular salon! Happiness is the BEST Yorba Linda nail spa, hands down (pun intended). First of all, you need to make sure you book an appointment with any of these ladies to really get the greatest experience: for gel manicures--Joanne, Lani, and Tina are PHENOMENAL, and for pedicures--Rose (best massage there), Kim (second best massage there), Jenny (third best massage there), and sweet Helen! They are all seriously superstars. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious now that they expanded to the business next door. There are four big flatscreens spread across the shop so there's always something to watch. There are plenty of colors to choose from, both regular polish and gels. The massage chairs are FABULOUS, and with some pedicure options, you even get a glass of wine included, so it really does feel like a spa! Mimi and her husband run the place and they do a wonderful job of it--Mimi herself is also a flawless manicurist! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The employees joke around and know a lot of their customers well, which creates a relaxed and warm atmosphere. There are also loyalty cards that allow you to add up points for free manicures/pedicures. My mom and I have been coming here for years, and if you become a regular, trust me: everyone at Happiness will treat you like a queen. This place is very clean, which is something I look for in a place that is semi-heavily trafficked spot. Their CC charge sign is hidden behind a huge plant, so you have no idea until you ask why the extra charge. I visited this establishment last Sunday and I brought my 3 daughters. They are ages 2, 4, and 6. The two year old did not get her nails done she just snuggled in my lap, which was fine. My 4 and 6 year old wanted to get their hands and toes painted and I asked my girls in front of the employees if they just wanted paint or if they wanted the full treatment with lotion, spa chair, hot towels, etc. They wanted it all (of course) I was busy with my own gel manicure and pedicure and dealing with my baby in my arms, so I wasn't able to pay close attention to my girls. It turns out, they only got their nails painted and nothing else. No lotion, no hot towels, and my 4 year old's feet couldn't even reach the spa chair water... When it came time to pay, I was told that each girls mani pedi was going to be $30. I thought to myself that was a little much for a nail painting, but I agreed. Then she told me how much mine would be, which was normal. The total ended up being $145 which she then told me $147 if I was paying with a credit card. I knew the girls didn't get all they should have gotten so I was okay with tipping on the card 20% which is fair in my opinion. 20% would have been $29 but I rounded up at tipped $30. The employee looked at the receipt and said "ONLY 30?!? YOU KNOW 4 LADIES WORKED ON YOU GUYS." Yes, I was well aware how many gals serviced us, but we didn't get what we asked for, therefore I was not going to go above and beyond...She made me feel bad and cornered me in my decision and I ended up changing the receipt to a $40 tip!!! I did not complain or make a scene, I will simply just never come here again, and wanted to leave a review so that anyone else hoping to come here and have a good experience will maybe think twice. I went to get my nails done for Christmas/New Year with what they call Ombre, the next morning, one nail chipped, the next day after that, the gel coat, started to peel off all my nails !! after Christmas, four days after I had them done, the owner did my nails, took off and I had her redo in Gel French. I'm mad, because I had them done 4 days ago, paid $57 with tip and she wanted me to pay $35, this really pissed me off, to say the least. I told her I shouldn't pay anything, then said, ok $25 I said NO, then I said, I'll pay $15 and I shouldn't pay anything, because my nails looked like crap after the first day. Had high hopes for this place, but was really let down. Got charged $90 for acrylic nails and pedi that I don't even like! My nails look absolutely nothing like my reference picture! The technician was also was super duper slow on my feet and made me late for work! I had gone in around 2:45 hoping that I'd have time to spare before I went in to work at 5 and she took her sweet time and I wasn't done until about 4:40 (although I kept telling her I had to go since now I was running late to work) !! It still smelled uncured and then the next day more nails lifted and peeled! Didn't even take the time to throw away a previous clients' water bottle at the station and it seems like all the towels are being reused without being washed. A waste of time or money. I've been putting this off but I feel like I have to let everyone know... I'll try and keep it short. I have been 4-5 times. I've only had 2 pedis, 1 of which I got an ingrown toe nail the very next day that was oozing and so infected I ended up in urgent care. The other one, left my last three toes flakey and white. As for manicures, not satisfied at all. I got a dip manicure TWO days ago and the lady assured me it WOULDN'T chip. Chipped before the day was even over and now I have 4 nails that are chipped. Not to mention the fact that the manicurist cut me and it wouldn't stop bleeding. She just painted over it and it mixed in with the polish. (Pics are not even 48 hrs after mani) NEVER GOING BACK. This place is located a couple stores down from the former Star Nails. It's nice and clean inside, and the ceiling reminds me of Caesars' palace in Las Vegas. The man behind the desk had us sign in, and we were seated promptly in one of the spa chairs. They did a nice foot scrub, and it really lasted...but it tickled. Usually, I get these scrubs and my heels get rough again....I've been told it's because I walk on hardwood floors barefooted and because I wear sandals all the time. The experience was enjoyable, and my feet were nice and soft after. My technician Tim, did a great paint job -- I'm really picky about this, and he introduced me to these "Dare To Wear" nail polishes that are so sparkly and shiny! I'm in love with anything that sparkles. They can do them in either gel or regular polish, and I chose the regular polish because I'm through w/ ruining my nails. Tim was great, but the only thing I didn't like was when he tapped my foot when he wanted me to do something rather than politely say something. It felt rude. Also, another con is that they don't have those fans to dry your nails! They have the purple light, and that feels unproductive and awkward. There are 4 seats, and there's nowhere to stare but in front of you at the person sitting right across...you can really only look at your nails for so long. I was sitting across from my sister and that was even uncomfortable. Also, I'm not sure if it's actually drying, or if that light is just giving my hands and feet wrinkles. There's some sort of quick drying spray that they have next to the light things, but it just felt oily. If you decide to go, especially during busy hours like Friday afternoons or during the weekend, make sure you make an appointment. I made an appointment, and after we sat down a group of mothers and their children walked in. I'll most likely go back to Happiness Nails, because it's extremely close to my parents' house, and their basic service prices are lower than other nail salons in the area. read more

The price point was pretty much the same as any other nail salon. However the quality of my gel manicure was awful. It only took her about 30 minutes start to finish and gel manicures usually take about an hour. I've been getting gel manicures for years and have never had one done so poorly. The gel polish wasn't applied in enough coats. I can still see my nail bed through the polish on some of my nails. Additionally after about 3 days my polish started chipping off. Typical time for a gel manicure to last is 3 weeks but a good manicure can last even longer. Very upset with the quality of my manicure. read more
