this place is great. the ambiance and rustic look in this establishment is astounding. dinner was awesome. server was brittany. she was very pleasant. the preparedness of food. was extremely amazing. only flaw is slow service. my friends eggplant panini arrived burnt and extra crispy. my only complaint.i give this place a 5-stars. definitely recommend this place.

Fast. Seating great service and great menu food to die for really full salad bar also I give this restaurant highest grade review. I'm not from the restaurant. I'm just a person that was very happy. Never gave this type of review before. and don't forget the steaks they're great.

    Delicious salad bar

Finally made it back to the Happy Apple and we had a great time. I've been hearing people rave about the duck, so I decided to try it. Well it didn't disappoint, crispy, with a delicious glaze and a twice baked potato. The salad bar was perfect too! Our waitress was a doll and very funny. Would be nice if maybe they had some background music throughout the restaurant, but we all enjoyed our meals anyway. FYI the whisky bar is only open on Fridays and Saturdays and it looks cool. Prices are still on the higher side, so it's not a place I would go for a quick dinner.

Old school salad bar with quality offerings (very good)

I'm rounding up a half star for nostalgia mainly, food is about 3.5. My family has been coming here as long as I can remember. Years ago we had many holidays, special events and milestones at this quaint and cozy place. It's been about 10 years since I've been, but I'm happy to report that not much has changed. The old school salad bar is still there with all of the offerings I remember. They always had one of my fav versions of potato and macaroni salad, they are just as good as I remembered. Along with various pickled salads, beets, coleslaw, hot peppers, very good cottage cheese, iceberg salad with homemade croutons and salad dressings. If memory serves the bread is from Italian people's. The menu has changed a bit, my fav dish used to be the stuffed scallops, no longer listed. And their seafood stuffing that used to be loaded with crawfish is now likely just crab and filler. I tried the stuffed flounder thinking the old stuff would be there. It's still a good stuffing, but could be great with more crustacean abs less bread. The flounder was very good, nice size and fresh too. But a light sauce would have been nice, this was served completely dry. My dining companion chose the stuffed chicken, she liked it a lot. We both had the mashed potatoes, I would have preferred a baked or twice baked potato both of which are usually available. For some reason these were not ready when we ordered. The mashed appeared to be made from leftover baked taters, ok at best. I like that this business is kind to seniors, they offer a senior menu with same sized portions of their staple dishes for a few bucks less. If you are a senior you also used to get a veg side dish. Not sure if that's still a thing, honestly I used to be irked by this. But when I brought my dad I used to get some of his. One nice improvement is the addition of a patio overlooking the small pond or lake. It's not huge and does not take away from the view inside. I imagine it's a great place in the warmer months. Service was and always has been friendly and warm, just like the old timey decor. As long as I'm in this area and the Apple still exists I'll be returning from time to time, if I play my cards right I'll soon be eligible for those free veggie sides.

She brought the drinks out quickly but it did take about 20 more minutes for her to come back and take our food order. We waited about another 20 minutes for the appetizers to come out. When they did, they were cold. The buffalo wings were literally cold to the touch. The flavor was good, but the sauce on top was no longer moist, it was dry as if the wings had been sitting out for a while. The mozzarella sticks had good flavor, but again, they were cold. We waited another 20 minutes for our entrees to come out. I ordered the Plumsted burger with sweet potato fries. The only thing that was hot was the burger itself. The bread was also cold to the touch, and the fries had completely cooled down as well. The description of the burger stated "fried onions". I thought this meant it would include something similar to an onion ring. Instead, the burger had sautéed onions on it, which I do not like, at all. We also ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sauce tasted straight out of a can. The temperature was warm, not hot. It was closer to being cool. Fries that it came with were mediocre. Overall, the common issue was the temperature of the food. Nothing was hot. I don't know if it's because it was sitting out in the back for too long. Our waitress never came over to check on us/ask if we needed anything. We waited too long for each dish and even trying to pay took forever. I think everyone was very overwhelmed. This place might be better on a weekday when it isn't as busy. But as for my experience on this particular day, I wouldn't return. They had the bartenders serving the high top tables as well and I think this was the downfall. The bar was completely packed and it was just too much to handle. They need to let the bartenders focus on the people at the bar and get more servers for the floor. Also overheard one waitress saying "these customers think they could do whatever the f*** they want". Very unprofessional. Would not recommend this place.

Shortly after entering this establishment, I realized I had dinner in this building before, but the last time was several years ago (was Naples Pizza & Pasta back then, in 2018). Everything had changed, decor was simple and rustic now. Anyway, we ordered lunch. Conversation between us was strained because the music was a bit loud (albeit, it was a decent genre, 70's & 80's Rock). It took a while for the meals to arrive to our table, even though only one other table was occupied at that time in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit inattentive also (or maybe inexperienced ?). I had to get up to ask him for some plates for our mozzarella stick appetizer, some ice in my wife's Iced Tea, a bottle of ketchup for my Mother In Law's French fries, and the coleslaw that was suppose to come with my Mother In Law's meal. Food was alright though, not great, but not horrible either. I don't agree with the 4 & 5 Star reviews for this place though, maybe breakfast is better, but that certainly wasn't what I experienced yesterday during our lunch. I imagine I still might be back someday, because it's close to where my Mother In Law lives and there really isn't a lot of choices nearby. A weak 3 Star Rating for now, I'll write an updated review when we return for breakfast sometime.

I felt like I was in the city with the gorgeous lighting and ambiance. My friend and I went on ladies night, where every Wednesday they have a DJ and 10% off food/drinks at the bar! We started off with 3 different apps, the zucchini fritte, the meat and cheese board for two, and the rice balls. Everything was phenomenal! The rice balls were stuffed with shredded beef instead of ground beef which I liked and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce was tangy and savory. The zucchini fritte was fried to a golden crisp and felt light and satisfying. The meat and cheese board is truly perfect for pairing with some pre-dinner drinks! Neither of us felt like drinking that night so I got the Stella Rose red berry spritz and she got the black berry spritz. These were fruity and sweet and perfect for a night out. Great alcohol free options. For dinner I got the cacio e pepe which came in a huge serving. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and I really liked how creamy and cheesy it was without feeling too heavy. My friend got the eggplant rollatini which was a humongous portion and she devoured it and still had some for leftovers. These were both great meat-free options. For dessert I had the chocolate lava cake which was rich and decadent. Perfect for sharing but mine was all for me! My friend had the creme brûlée which she indulged on without a single bite to spare! Can't forget to mention the impeccable service! Our server Andres was so sweet and took excellent care of us and always checked in with us. I'm so glad I finally checked out Spigola! This is a perfect restaurant for a great meal. They were complemented with cocktail sauce, watermelon mignonette, and fresh grated horseradish. * Crab Salad Special: Served in a martini glass.
