Had a weekday breakfast here. Your normal relaxed diner vibes. Had the ham steak breakfast special. Came out as you'd expect - and do appreciate the ham wasn't super salty (which I feel happens at some diners). Would def come back (again)!

I have the most amazing neighbors, I'm truly blessed. Today they offered to share a pie with me from STOX and it was absolute heaven. It was a strawberry cream cheese pie. Hopefully I got the name of it right? The inside had a cream cheese custard without the usual thickness, & density that most cream cheese desserts have. If you want to opt for something lighter, while longing for that cream cheese flavor; this is a great alternative. It was topped with chunky strawberries and a fresh whipped cream. This is the second time I get the honor of tasting something from their bakery and I'm never disappointed.

From start to finish of my visit, I was pleasantly surprised. I came in on a night in which I thought all places had "Taco Tuesday" but not here. Here's the kicker... Angela my server was nice enough to offer a 3-taco plate although it wasn't offered on menu. Three carne asada tacos w the absolute freshest guacamole and heartiest portion of beef (Medium rare). Food was amazing, service was even better and the environment which seemed to be made up of locals (due to the camaraderie) was awesome. This definitely a place a will be returning to for good food, great company and awesome service!

Old style diner that serves breakfast and diner food. Got the Cuban pork and ham panini, served with a dill pickle and choice of side:I got potato salad. Good crunch on the bread. Melted cheese plus sweet mustard. My companions got the half daily sandwich (pulled pork dip) with rice and chicken soup in a cup and the Stox hamburger special. All sandwiches were well made. Very personable waitress Maria, she can often to check on drinks and refills for coffee ( I had two cups late afternoon!). Quite empty dining room this afternoon. The place closes by 8 pm. There is a connecting bar that stays open later and also serves the entire menu if you're looking for food. I took a peek in the bar and there was a sizable crowd at just a little past 4pm! Looks like they have a number of regulars. Took home several miniature pies : banana cream, lemon cream, blueberry cheesecake, cookies and a brownie.

Updated review was disappointed that you have to sit in the bar to get an alcohol beverage and false advertisement on Banner says happy hour but when I brought it to the waitress attention, she said yeah it's up there but we don't do that special anymore so they're advertising something and once they get you in the door, they don't honor it. She said you can speak to the manager, but they're having happy hour anymore, but it's been up there for months, the sign, and have yet to take it down. I feel like that's really sad to have you sit down moved twice locations and then not honor happy hour when there's a sign above outside advertised for over several months and is still there. I am very sad because this was my go to spot but since this experience, I have yet to return. Also, it says breakfast all day, but if you go in the afternoon, their breakfast was not good. Only ordered in the morning time tasted better when you order breakfast during dinner time it was not very tasteful.

We have been coming to Stox since I was born! It's consistent! That's what you want in a hometown Diner! I always get breakfast no matter the time of day because there's something about their eggs...they are rich and decadent! But the real reason we keep coming back is the homemade brownirs!!! OMGOODNESS...do not leave without one! Mine came home with a few bites missing The wait staff is very attentive and always kind!

had breakfast last weekend at Stox. you got to seat yourself. the service was friendly and efficient. my coffee was never in danger of being empty. my wife had the egss benedict; cooked perfectly. i liked the addition of the asparagus. my thick slice ham and eggs were very filling and cooked quite nicely. we will return for breakfast when we can, and so should you.

Venue: beautiful, clean, and spacious with plenty of seating for families and friends to gather comfortably. It's conveniently located inside a shopping center with lots of parking available, which made our visit even easier. Ambiance: We absolutely loved the ambiance! The mariachi music playing in the background truly brought the whole experience together and perfectly represented the spirit and name of the location. Food: everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly balanced in flavor without being overly sweet. We ordered the chocolate croissant, Abuelita's rosca, elote fino, and a fried pulled pork empanada with green sauce. Every item was flavorful and satisfying. The café de olla was warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be returning for more pan dulce, delicious food, and maybe even try one of the cold brews next time. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for great Mexican bread and pastries, this is definitely the place. However, on Mother's Day (May 10th), I decided to try their menudo for the first time and purchased 3 orders. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menudo was extremely bland and seemed to be missing basic seasoning like salt and oregano. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.

I had been to the one in Laguna Niguel and this one in Little Tokyo is more spacious, with an area where you can eat. I bought an oyako pork shumai, curry pan and spicy curry pan. The shumai was like dumpling filling in a bun. My faves were the curry pan, which were super flavorful and vegetarian. The spicy curry one does have a kick (great for my husband), while I prefer the regular curry as I can't handle spice. Wish I had one closer to me!

It's like a fancy filet o fish without the soggy bun, packed with amazing fried fish and tarter sauce. I'm just disappointed when they don't have this in stock, but sometimes they would make more, and that'll just be an extra wait. Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Their curry breads are good too. I took my daughter here and she got one with cute emoji drawn on, and she said the custard filling and the bread was tasty as well. I've tried some drinks here and they were alright. A friend was into their banana matcha when they have that in stock. Pretty simple layout here. Get in line and see the goods, then you reach the cashier and order and pay.
