Super great place. Thank you for my daughter's birthday cake. I brought a print out of my girl's love of Penguins and she printed it on the cake for us. The lady who took my order was so nice and helpful and it was easiest cake order. My daughter loved the cake and it was a hit. Half sheet marble birthday cake for $50 My sister and I pre ordered the cake 3 days in advance, we ordered it with an image of Baby Minnie Mouse. Sadly upon picking it up the owner was extremely rude! She showed us our cake and we pointed out that it was messed up on the edges and asked her to fix it and she refused! After that we didn't want to stay and argue so we asked for a candle and a plastic knife to cut the cake. She wanted to force us to buy a pack of 12 candles for $4.50! Then she tells us she doesn't give out knives and to get it at the 99 cent store! Or if we are going to a restaurant they should have a knife. Honestly any bakery that I have been to is always willing to give you a candle and it comes with a plastic knife. This place on the other hand is trying to skimp out and cheat customers from as much money as they can. I regret coming here to preorder my cake. I love Happy Bakery!! The owner lady is nice, sweet and very talented. This bakery is near my home and I was at first hesitant to order a cake from here since the place looks fairly small and does not have many pictures on display. I ordered my first cake for my sister's college graduation and took her a few pictures to show her my ideas and she did a great job. I also recently got married in 7/27/13 and was looking for places that would focus more on wedding cakes since I wanted some modern and beautiful. However, from all the places that I went the prices were way to expensive and I was unable to get exactly what I was looking for since I wanted a squared cake which were about 300 dollars more than an average wedding cake. So I decided to give it a try again at Happy Bakery for my wedding cake. I talked to the owner lady and took her about three different wedding cake pictures and told her how I wanted my cake. I had also told the owner that I did not like the taste and texture of the fondant cakes but that all the wedding pictures that I had seen were made out of fondant icing. She told me that she was able to make my wedding cake to look exactly like the pictures that I had taken to her and with the buttercream icing instead of the fondant icing. I decided to trust her and ordered my cake. The price was about $250 dollars less than the other estimates for a cake with round tiers. I order carrot cake for first tier, velvet cake for the second tier, and marble cake for the third with buttercream icing. I took the owner the lace color of my wedding and my flowers so that they can match my wedding reception a day before the wedding. The cake came out to be beautiful and was one of the many things that came out great from my wedding. I was excited to see when they were bringing the cake to the reception since it was exactly what I had ordered. They dropped off the cake around 5:30pm since it was a hot day and the reception wedding was from 6pm-12am. My cake did great despite that it was a hot day and I was a bit scared that it was going to melt by the time that we would cut the cake. I received many compliments for the beautiful cake and about how delicious it was since it was a very moist cake. My wedding cake made my wedding more memorable and I thank "Happy Bakery" for my beautiful cake. Please see the Wedding Cake on the pictures (White and Wine Purple color) since I was not able to post it along with this review. Definitely I will continue ordering more cakes for future special occasions. Just a word of advice: I would pay an extra fee to have them deliver the cake to your destination since the very first time I decided to take it on my own and ended up being a disaster cake but luckily the owner was able to re-do it all again for another fee. read more

GREAT BAKERY!! I placed an custom order 3 days before a birthday for an 8" round cake with a printed photo, and it came out amazing! I'm all in for small businesses. It's the service that I don't particularly like that irks me. I called in 24 hours early to order 2 puto/rice sponge cakes for 11:30-12ish noon the next day. I come in close to 2pm and it's not even done yet. On top of that, they want to charge me $2 to have it precut. Ugh. It takes a second lady, maybe multiply that by 60 seconds. I've been going here for years and I can't believe I haven't written a review years! Everything is so good here, especially the cakes. Oh my god, the cakes. So amazing. Bottom line: their cakes are delicious. Sponge white cakes are my favorite. Cheesecakes: they have these small cheesecakes of the popular flavors like red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, etc. omg so good. I used to love Happy bakery growing up when it was an Asian bakery. A few years back, ownership changed and it is now a Mexican bakery. They are still ok, but I preferred the pastries and cakes that the old Happy Bakery used to carry. I was having a baby shower and went and asked the lady if she can blow up balloons for me and how much would she charge me. She said .70cents a balloon. I agreed because I really needed them blown up and with the helium shortage it's hard to find a place besides party city that blows up balloons. I left her with 5 dozen balloons. Yes I know it's a lot but she agreed to blow them up. I sent my son to pick up the balloons and he was shocked when she told him it was $143! He asked her if she was sure that's how much it was and then her husband started raising ha voice and my son and kept repeating "143,143,143 that's how much" He paid her and came back to the house. He was so mad. I told him she said .70 each! At this point the party had already started and I didn't have time to go over to the bakery to talk to her about the confusion. We called her and she said that's how much it is. I'm no math expert but .70 cents x 60 balloons is $42. Even with tax it would not be $143. She completely was dishonest and took advantage of us. I love this bakery!!! The best I'd have to say in the area. My mom has bought my birthday cakes here ever since I was 6. Sure I've tried Sam's club cakes and Costco, but they are too sweet for my taste. The frosting at Happy Bakery reminds me of a light cool whip. I love how it's creamy and just melts in your mouth...the sponge cake is my favorite. Its always soft and moist. There was color bleeding on my cake, the edges looked caved in and she was extremely mean. Overall I feel the cake was poor quality because when trying to serve guest, the cake didn't cut well. The pieces were stuck to the sheet and each slice looked like a creamy mess. THE CAKE WAS DRY and compensated with a lot of cream. The decorations looked horrible and the cake was uneven in shape. I have been coming here since I was 14. Cakes are always moist and perfect. This lady is awesome at her detailed work. My favorite is sponge cake with half banana and strawberries with shaved almonds on the sides of the cake. I bring my kids here for a treat such as her cookies.
