Not sure what was up with the previous posters but our food was fast and tasty. The pastrami sandwich was ample. My wife would have liked more pickles. Chicken sandwich was good. The shredded lettuce made for a texture issue for Princess Buttercup. Her Oreo shake was "straight fire." The boy would have liked the peppers to be diced smaller. He liked the taste. I used to stop at Petes all the time on our way back from Bass Lake for their zucchini fries. I know Pete went out of business, but I hope the new place was just a new name. Only downside is they only have all gender bathrooms. I do not care for all gender bathrooms because as a female, I do not want to share with men to stand to pee and often miss. We did the drive thru, and as much as I was excited to try the pastrami sandwich, our interaction over the intercom was not good for a first impression. We were the only ones in the drive thru, as the gal was just brusque, not welcoming at just wanted to get our order and be done. We needed time to look, and that seemed to be inconvenient to her. We did expect to have a bit of a wait as we read that items were made to order so it wasn't a surprise. When the gal shoved the pay pad out at us so my hubby couldn't reach it insisting 'it's asking you a question' I'd already decided she wasn't getting a tip. She ended up being just rude. I'd rate the window service a -2. She opened her window and said "Cash or card?" No greeting, no smile, nothing. "Do the poppers come with a dip like ranch?" "Oh did you want some?" "Yes" She brought one dip for two orders. "Can we get two dips for the orders?" "Oh did you want another one?" No smile, nothing. We drove off sort of in awe that she works in any sort of service position, deciding we wouldn't be back. Until we tied one go the jalapeño poppers. WOW! they are amazing! Fresh out of the fryer, clearly. They were hot, crispy and so very tasty. The jalapeño wasn't too spicy for this e who can't do spice with enough bite to remind you what's you're munching on. They were almost gone before we got back to the house. That was because she only gave us one order and they are VERY small orders. The shakes are phenomenal. The banana was actually banana! The fruit, not flavoring made the banana shake a complete win. I might have to go back....but only for a shake. And NOT the drive thru. Hoping the same gal would not be at the counter inside. The stormy sandwiches were just so so. Fairly small for the price, yes, they were freshly made... But the pastrami had a lot of gristle in it and they just seemed greasier than your average pastrami. This was a pretty sad experience, and Oakhurst can definitely use a good drive-through that isn't a chain. Definitely need to change out the and happy, and smiling gal at the window. read more

My first time here since they opened. I had the avocado burger combo with krinkle fries and brewed ice tea. Service was fast and friendly and reasonably priced. Only 4 customers when I was there. The place was shiny and new and very clean. Burger was tasty and fries were perfect! Tea was good too, I hate when places have no options besides sodas! Brewed tea is a great healthy option. Give them a chance! It's certainly not their fault Pete's is gone! We've recently lost two other fast food in town. Be nice or you may end up driving 45 minutes. read more

Random crunchy hits. Little chocolate-peanut butter surprises. Every sip is different. It's basically a slot machine. And I kept winning. Service was the real "whoa." Friendly. Fast. Warm. I am writing this to warn others about the deceptive pricing and lack of transparency at this establishment. During my recent visit, I was charged for an onion ring upgrade and a "non-cash adjustment" fee, neither of which were explicitly mentioned or disclosed at the time of order. The food and portions were nothing to write home about, especially for a meal that cost nearly $25. The onion rings were dull and flavorless, and the drink and ice cream cone were reminiscent of children's sizing. To make matters worse, the employee taking my order didn't even know the portion size for a side of ranch, and was so soft-spoken I had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. What I will give them credit for is that their basic cheeseburger and soft serve vanilla ice cream cone were decent. I think this restaurant is, unfortunately, more of a tourist trap that's exploiting the word "Yosemite" in their establishment's name. This place is my go to spot for a great burger. I've been here several times, and the Western Burger never disappoints. It's always fresh, flavorful, and definitely better than the other fast food options nearby. This time I also ordered the chili cheese fries and an Oreo shake, and both were excellent. The service is consistently great, and you can tell the staff works hard. I really appreciate the effort they put in every time. I like most locals miss the OLD Pete's Place... The Original one not the Pete's that was bought from the old Pete's! I decided to drive thru on my way home to Bass Lake and just got onion rings. The rings were like most fast food places but never before have I paid $8.00 for 8 onion rings. I realize how expensive things are these days but I can't afford to pay these prices. I am sure many locals will feel the same way since many of us are on fixed incomes! Maybe I will try and save up enough money to eat a meal there to see what the food is really like. This is a NEW restaurant in an older, already established location with a drive thru. It's bright colors are welcoming and place is big and roomy so you don't have to hear your neighbors conversations. I met owner Mohamed before he opened and he was a very kind and friendly man. My daughter ordered some of her favs, pastrami, jalapeno poppers, chili cheese fries and sodas to wash it all down with. Pastrami was delicious. It was slightly charred on the grill which was unique than the traditional way and it was amazing with lots of crunchy bits, YUM! Chili cheese fries were loaded with chili and cheese and smothered in every knook and cranny so each bite was dripping in flavors. Fries were crispy, fluffy and perfectly seasoned. Jalapeno poppers came 6 in an order. When you bite into one you immediately notice that the jalapenos were diced inside which we love because you're not pulling off the jalapeno from the cheese or the crispy crust so when you dip it into that luscious ranch dressing each bite is a perfect bite of all the flavors. Now some people don't care about drink brands but for me I'm happy if anyone carries Dr Pepper/Diet and they carry it along with other Pepsi products. Now the menu has a large variety of burgers, dogs, sandwiches, salad's to fish and chips. There's a good variety of kid's meals not to mention a big selection of ice creams. That's right ice cream sundaes, banana splits, cones including swirl, dipped and shakes! This place was busy and everyone seemed to leave happy as did we. Be warned !! My family ate there on Sat March 14, 2026. Within a few hours everyone got sick! Fever, abdominal pain/cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. A trip to the hospital confirmed that it was food poisoning from there. The environmental health department was notified through the hospital and us. We reached out to let the manager know about the issue and instead of being understanding, he was upset. There is no need to be upset because we called to notified management in hopes of avoiding anyone else getting sick. Will never be going there again. I was excited to give this new spot a try but I'm not really a fan. Burger was ok but gave me a stomach ache. Nothing seems like it has any extra effort or offers anything unique/homemade. In my opinion you can't just buy a truckload of Cisco product and label it "classic Yosemite burger". The shakes all come from mass production machines that have typical overly sugarized flavors like snickers and butterfingers.
