Hi! Middle-aged Mom here. I ate at Happy Camper yesterday with a good friend. We almost never go down to the strip- but were super exited to go to Happy Camper after seeing posts on social media. So fun! So cute! Such good food! The weather was gorgeous! Absolutely perfect. We had a reservation for 11 am that I created through Open Table. Arrived at 10:56 and were told to wait by the fire pit (nice, cute, pillows and a central fake fire pit, not lit at the moment) as they were waiting for their 11am servers to come in. The hostess said "we'll call you." Which I thought meant "we will call your name." Lots more people came in and many were seated. Um ok. Finally at about 11:10, we were seated. There were two small, square 4-tops that were empty near us. I figured that's where we were heading, but nope. We were sat at a table with another family. Now, I didn't realize this was a thing they did at Happy Camper - and maybe it's not part of their training to say "we do table sharing - will this be ok?" So we sat at the end of a 9-top table. 5 of them, and 2 of us. With two empty tables right next to us. I was once a restaurant hostess and I understand that there are good tables and less good tables. Also, I know servers have stations and that seating needs to be staggered to accommodate different stations. And seating middle aged ladies who look like they won't cause a fuss at a less good table is part of the job. Luckily the family at the table was lovely and was on their way out. They told us about the delicious brunch items they tried. We weren't given a brunch menu, so I figured it was over for the day. We ordered 2 small pizzas and appetizer of queso dip. We chatted with our table mates for about 10-15 minutes. Well, kind of. It's loud in there. Like LOUD loud. At brunch time. With families. My friend and I often had to lean forward, cup an ear and yell to hear each other. Like nightclub level loud. But hey! It's Vegas! I get it. Also, the one-zillion disco balls and lights are super overstimulating. But this is Vegas. During this time a big bachelorette party was sat near us (oh look! Brunch menus!) and we also get new table mates! 4 young people from LA. Also with brunch menus. Everyone around us orders. 20 more minutes go by and our table mates get food! Yay! And the huge bridal party gets food. Wow, good for them. 10 more minutes go by and our table mates ask "have you gotten food yet?" Nope. Not even the appetizer. Finally 50 minutes after first ordering, someone brings out one of our pizzas. One. I ask this person where the other pizza is - and the appetizer. When I tell her what appetizer we got she states "well, that takes as long as a pizza." I blank stare at this. I have 5 kids and have heard a lot of foolishness in my life. I point out that everyone around us has food and arrived MUCH later than we did. Also, it's been 50 minutes since we ordered. A few minutes later not-our-server arrives with the 2nd pizza. We asked again for the appetizer. Few more minutes our actual server arrives She apologized and said that the appetizer was taking "a little longer than normal." Since I speak fluent server, I know that means it didn't get put in to bake. We ate most of the 2 small pizzas. They were good... but not better than most pizzas. Good, fresh pizza. Especially the Dad Za. About the time we decided we were full, the queso dip arrived. The server said that the manager had "taken the appetizer off" our bill. Right thing to do. The app was good; fine. Lots of hand made chips to go with it. Appreciated those. The empty 4-top next to us was finally filled about the time that the queso dip arrived. Here are my takeaways. 1. The place is cute and right on the strip (one story up with open air windows looking out) 2. The food is decent. If someone came to town and desperately wanted to try it, I would go because I love my friends and it was good-ish. 3. It's extremely loud. 4. Like most places on the strip, it caters to drinking more than eating. Lots of pretty drinks floated to tables around us and I'm sure that makes the food taste even better. For non-drinkers like us, this might not be the place. 5. Also like most places on the strip (and maybe this is just life in general) it caters to a young crowd. This isn't on Happy Camper; it's just life. But I felt pretty 2nd class. 6. The servers need help. Too many customers and too few servers. They were fun and young and generally "happy campers " but we hardly saw them. I'm a generally positive person and I understand that middle aged people and older people tend to get ignored sometimes. I'm Gen X. We had our time. But babes... we have the MONEY NOW. We tip well. I felt ignored, overlooked and dismissed. Maybe it was just a bad day and one fumble after another. And I get that this is totally a first-world problem. I'm in a restaurant on a fancy street in a make-believe city. But I can take my Gen X money somewhere else. read more

To start, it's very hot in here. Make sure that you dress accordingly. Otherwise, you'll wish you had taken my advice. They have heat lamps and fire pits all over the place, which is the reason that it's so hot in here. It's the general Strip bar/restaurant where it's overpriced. The staff are nice. We had family in town who were dying to try this place. As local, I wouldn't make a special trip here for this place. But if I were a tourist, then yes I'd try it to mark it off my list of Strip places to go or try. Workers shouldn't be playing beer pong on the clock although they weren't drinking. The workers kept hitting us with the balls. Definitely not a good experience. I can create this same ambiance at my home minus the tourism taxes and overpriced drinks. read more

I always passed this place & wanted to try it. It seemed like a cute little spot. We went on 6/12 for my nephews birthday dinner with a party of 6 (2 being my 1 year old & my 8 year old nephew). The experience was AMAZING! I was having so much fun, I forgot to take pics! The music is a little loud, but it's a fun space. Super on theme. The food is 10/10! Everything we ordered was delicious. It was kinda awkward to have community style tables with random people. Also interesting they share a bathroom with the neighboring restaurant. The music was a bit all over the place and kept messing with the total vibe but my company was great so it didn't matter too much. Our server Michael, was top notch. He had great suggestions, knew the menu very well, was extremely on top of his game and quick! The food and drinks were also very delicious. It wasnt too sweet, but almost could be a dessert, in my opinion. I just wish the pita that it came with was either a bit toasted or even warmed up, it came out cold. We had reservations for Saturday brunch and were immediately sat upon arrival which was great. It wasn't super busy which was a nice change of pace for dining on the strip. One member of our party received his food at least 10 minutes before the rest of us. He was finished by the time the rest of us got our plates. Our server also took an unusually long time not only to bring us our check but also to allow us to pay. It'd be one thing if she were busy, but she spent more time talking to colleagues at the drink station than visiting tables. Also, the speakers were going in and out while we were there, so one minute it was blaring music and the next would be awkward silence. There was no in between.
