Super fast service and the sushi sando and chicken bao tacos were legendary. The smash burger was also ok but not as spectacular. Small place so outdoor eating only. Parking was confusing; it's a lot shared by Oku and other nearby restaurants and you enter by taking the road to the right of the restaurant. I came here for the first time with a friend this morning. The view of the pier and ocean is just lovely - it was a beautiful day already! There is only outside seating, but the shade of many umbrellas does a very good job at keeping the sun away. I ordered a cinnamon roll, house lemonade, and a breakfast burrito with bacon. The lemonade and cinnamon roll came out first and both were delicious! Probably one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had! The icing was amazing, the inside of the roll was fluffy and perfectly warm, and I just couldn't stop eating it even when my burrito came out! The burrito has Mac and Cheese in it, which is a bit different and I was skeptical, but upon taking my first bite I realized it was the perfect balance for everything else inside - SO good! However, I did realize that there wasn't bacon in my burrito, but I think it was pork belly instead? Whatever it was, it was also SO GOOD, so I didn't ask them to change it out. I was very happy with it! The waitstaff were so kind and checked on us multiple times (so I did have several opportunities to say the burrito was slightly wrong, but it truly was yummy and I wanted to eat it!). Later in the day, my friend realized she dropped her earbud out of her pocket and we went looking for it. We stopped by the restaurant to check and the staff were so attentive, even while it was busy for them. They helped us look, and I believe the owner came out to specifically help us and took our information down in case it did show up. She was extremely kind and we were so grateful. My husband has a shellfish allergy, so finding a place where we could both enjoy something is a win. He had the fish and chips and said it was really good crispy, flavorful, and no complaints. He polished off the whole plate! I ordered the sushi sando and loved it. It was super refreshing and packed with flavor. Be warned though come hungry! The portion was huge. Since my husband doesn't eat sushi, I had to tackle it solo and it was a mission . Definitely a great item to share or save half for later. Seating is outdoor only, but every table had an umbrella so we weren't in direct sun. You do get a partial ocean view--it's across a patch of grass and a small road, but still nice to look out and see the water while you eat. You order at the window and they bring your food out to your table, which we appreciated. All around, a chill spot with good vibes and great food. Walked by the super long line at Jeannine's and came to Happy Cat Eats. Recommend that you do the same! We came for breakfast and had the cinnamon roll and the breakfast bowls, and two ice coffees. All were excellent, with the quality of ingredients and cooked perfectly! The cinnamon roll is fresh and made in house, and is sublime! Seating was relaxing and the views are beautiful of the pier, ocean and palm trees. Didn't want to leave! Will be back again for sure!! These cats are definitely happy!! read more

The food at this place is deceptively good for what appears at first glance to be a walkup. It is a walkup but they bring you your food, The outside patio is gorgeous right across from the water. This place really hits the spot. We've carted out twice and everyone has been happy with their choices. The sushi sandwich is something we'd never make at home so we've ordered it both times and like it. The service we appreciate as they have their system dialed in...can let them know your car make and model and they will walk your food out. Very efficient as there is zero parking. I can't speak for the ambiance as we haven't dined in. The salads are fresh. The fish taco is crunchy and the fish seems fresh. The ambiance is clean with marble table tops and bar seating. The service is outstanding. Luna even told us that he hoped we had a great day. The wings we got were very similar to the wings at Oku but with more tempura batter. I think they use the same sauce as Oku which is the restaurant next door. We Tried this place for burrito week. I was excited to try a burrito with Mac n cheese, something different. I came out rather disappointed. I called in two burritos specials for the burrito week event. The service was poor. The employee wasn't knowledgeable on what came in the burritos. In addition, I was told to arrive in 10-15 min. I showed up 20 minutes later, paid for the food and waited 20 additional minutes when it was not busy. They forgot about me, when I was 1 of 2 customers. I finally asked the other employee about my order and was questioned about my proof of purchase , so I showed my receipt and realized the food had been sitting there ready. I did not receive an apology or any mention of the waiting. I was not pleased with the service overall. The food ingredients seemed quality however the food ingredients ratios were un proportionate aka it was mostly Mac n cheese in both burritos. I balance of ingredients in the burrito would have been much more appetizing. On a positive note, I did like the outdoor seating and chill beach ambiance. I hope they can get these things worked out, very fixable. Perhaps a management or training issue. read more

I was with some friends when we decided to stop and try this place, I can say that the staff was friendly and our food came out fairly quickly. They had a cute patio area where we sat although I will say, under the heat of the sun, the table we sat at got so hot to the point we couldn't touch it. But that's our mistake. I had the happy cat smash burger and the lavender matcha. The burger was good, it was an average cheeseburger, well seasoned and cheesy. The matcha lavender was more lavender than matcha but I didn't mind as I like lavender. However, the problem came with one of my friend's meals. She got the two kids sliders, yes I totally understand that it is a kids meal and perhaps it was a mistake to get it in the first place, but depending on how big of a bite you take the you would finish the sliders in one bite or two. It was about the size of macaroon and was definitely not enough for one person. Not even enough for a child, in my opinion. From what my other friends said, the rest of the food was fine. It was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara. The location is perfect right across the beach. Parking may be a little tricky if you're not familiar with the area. We ordered the truffle burger, Saigon wings, and chicken bao tacos. Truffle burger was full of flavor. It's a burger what more can we say! Saigon wings were bone-in flats which I wasn't expecting but I guess they are wings! Had good flavor but could be crispier. Unfortunately isn't served with sauce so you need to spend an extra 50 cents for ranch and/or spicy mayo. Chicken bao tacos were decent. Just needed a lil spicier flavor and some more taste.
