Come here if you want to try a new style that you didn't ask for! Asked for the sides and back short with clippers and about 2 inches off the top. I said "let's start with the sides and back and then look at the top after". She started buzzing and before I could stop her she had already chopped 5 inches off the top. When I stopped her and said I wanted the top longer, she said "yeah not too long, normal man haircut". I'm mad because it's not that difficult to have the sides and back buzzed short and a couple inches off the top. The hair I'm left with on my head is the amount I wanted cut off. This was my first visit to Happy Cuts and, because of reviews, I especially asked for Helen. I couldn't be happier with the results. I'd brought her quite a challenge: A previous hair experience at another salon had left my hair over-processed, dry, and unmanageable. Helen had such a positive " I can fix it " attitude that I felt comfortable right away. The salon was clean, comfortable. Helen assessed my problem and suggested color repair, a hot oil treatment, a good layered cut (all scissors, no thinning shears), and a thoughtful plan to bring my hair back to health again. Do not come here!! I repeat, do not!! You'll save some tears! I was desperate & felt fed up with my hair so I wanted a trim. My hair was more than medium length. I asked for shoulder length, even showed it to her twice. When she got the scissors, she turned me around & didn't even ask if this length is okay before chopping it all off. As soon as I heard the chop & looked in the mirror, I went into shock mode. she made is so much shorter than what I asked for!! I can't even make a fucking pony tail! Helen is rude & doesn't listen or care to what you have to say even though it's your hair!! I went home almost crying from frustration & ofcourse how short my hair is. Read the reviews and decided to stop in for a haircut today. Helen did an excellent job on my hair and knew exactly how to cut it. I have wavy hair and she cut it so my curl would work with the style. I was extremely happy with the cut. When she finished I asked about getting a gel fill. She had the time to do my nails and they've never looked better. She is very talented and has been doing hair for 29 yrs. Very professional and I highly recommend you stop in a see her. A Sign in the window is misleading. It says "$9.99 haircut." After my trim (not even a handful of hair came off) I was charged $15.00. I argued that the sign says 9.99 and was told "that's for a regular men's haircut." I argued again that the sign doesn't specify. I didn't win the argument and paid $15. I just walked in without an appointment with my nearly 22-month-old grandson (who is not a fan of haircuts) and Helen was fast and understanding of a toddler's fears! She was wonderful and I would definitely go back. The only draw back was the$6.99 haircut cost $10 because I chose to use my Visa/debit card and I didn't see anything stating the extra fee. The service was well worth the extra fee, however and would not stop me from returning. read more

Good trim, cheap, fast. Asked for short, got a buzz of differing lengths on the sides and top for $7...but the minimum credit charge was $10, so I wasn't sure what to tip. Who knows. Helen is amazing, she is truly an artist. I have dark hair. Now that I'm getting older I want to go lighter to hide my grays. I have been struggling trying to get the right tone. I hate the red/orange color when I go light. My ethnicity causes my hair to do this naturally. She fixed it. For the first time in my life I love the tone. She gave me exactly what I asked for and NOBODY does a better cut. In fact while I was in there another lady came in to get a cut. OK, so I went into this place thinking Helen was going to be this sweet great hairstylist like all the reviews said... ummmm...no! My fellow yelpers let me down on this one. I took my 3 year old daughter to Helen to get her hair cut and was really disappointed. Not so much with the actual hair cut but with Helen herself. First I called to ask how much she charges and she told me to just come in and not to worry because she doesn't charge much. So we went in and I told her that I wanted my daughters hair short (right below the ears) but Helen kept insisting to do it her way, which was lots of layers and keeping it long in the back. I told her MULTIPLE times that I want her hair short with light layers because it gets tangled easily and she sweats at night because her hair is all over the place. She kept saying, " No honey, do it like this because when it grows out it gonna look real nice." I told her I wasn't planning on growing my daughters hair out because of the reasons I already stated above. BUT she WOULD NOT listen. Like really....WTF. I'm paying for a service, do what I ask. You can do whatever you want with your own kids hair. She was also really impatient with my well behaved 3 year old. My daughter moved as much as a grown adult would and she still seemed annoyed. Helen's mom was at the salon too and my goodness! She is so mean to her mom! It was really sad. My husband even noticed, and he doesn't pay attention to things like that. WORST SALON EVER If I could I would give it zero stars.. This place is terrible. It wasn't just the language barrier it was the complete lack of skill. My mom suggested this place and said the woman seemed to know what she was doing, when we got there I saw the name and immediately felt uneasy but went with her opinion. We went to go get our roots done (we are blonde), what my mom didnt tell me is when she came before she got her hair cut, not bleached. I went first and she mixed the color/bleach and as soon as she applied it I felt it sting. Before we were done a man came in asking for his money back because when they cut his hair they knicked the skin behind his ears and on his neck. We ended up leaving with orange hair and chemically burnt scalp. Then on top of it she butchered my hair, and said what I wanted wouldn't look good on me, translation: I don't know how to do that. If you're getting your hair bleached make sure your hair dresser is blonde. DO NOT GO HERE- totally unprofessional and inexperienced I promise you will leave disappointed read more

I hadn't gotten my hair cut at all in about a year when I finally decided to get it cut again and I came back here and was as satisfied as I use to be. My boyfriend whose had "great clip" scares buzz cutting all his hair off he hadn't gotten in cut in months and it was extremely long. Now he no longer is afraid and says this is his go to place now. In reference to another review, the men's haircut is actually 9.99 which is a value! But if it's long enough, such as some girls hair might be (which is a 15$ haircut) they have to use scissors. They informed us that it would cost this amount due to the extra time which was okay with us for quality! So to the people who commented on this in the reviews, no it's not falsely advertised, and they will usually inform you because they can't use the razor on your hair if it's too long it would ruin it. Even if you are a male. In addition, I'm sure they'd charge 9.99 on a girl with extremely short hair if they didn't use scissors. Great place to go with great haircuts!! read more

Absolutely the best hair cut ever and the price is SO reasonable! Went in with shoulder length, thick, curly hair. I was ready for a complete change. Helen asked me to go through a book to choose something I liked, and within 10 minutes, she was putting the finishing touches on a hair cut that Justin Timberlake would wear. I have that same difficult curly hair that is a pain to handle, but now I have a great easy to maintain cut that looks awesome. Helen is so fast, professional, and totally on trend. You get a perfect cut and can afford to come back monthly! I recommend her without any reservation to anyone who wants their hair to look great without paying for marble tabletops and big screen tvs, haha!
