I had to take the time to write a review of my recent experience at Happy Days Ace Hardware. The staff at this store is so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. George, Joe and Matt were all wonderful! As I was checking out George ran up and made sure I had a paint can opener and some mixing sticks to help me with my painting project. This Ace Hardware is exactly my type of hardware store. It has everything I need and not humongous warehouse to walk through. The place is clean and colorful. It's basically a Trader Joe's size of a warehouse store. Of course if you want lumber and other bigger size items then you need to go to the normal size Ace Stores, but for someone that just wants to get in and out, this is perfect. Terrible Came in 45 minutes before closing and they were very unwelcoming. Odd considering brick and mortar is a dying business, also they were all over 45 and working here..seems like they should appreciate their jobs and help the people that are paying their salaries. Unfortunately I still ended up spending over $300, but I will NEVER go back here because Of the service. The entire time I was shopping (still left 5 mins before closing) one of the workers was using foul language towards me for shopping there so close to closing. Odd. Management here really needs to fire some people. Or better yet, the store owners need to fire management for their lack of managerial skills. Ace hardware should not allow this store to use their name. read more

I made my very first purchase from Ace Hardware online and decided to pick it up at this location, I figured with a name like Happy Days what could go wrong. Unfortunately my first experience was a bitter one due to lack of internal communication and adherence to policy. We are in the 21st century... as a franchise owner (store manager I assume) you may not like having to allow customers to pickup online orders since it's not directly affecting your revenue, but it IS affecting the entire revenue of the business AND reputation. The two employees I dealt with on weekday evenings (multiple visits) were courteous and polite, BUT they were trained to tell people "oh that online order pickup, no it's not ready until we call you". After a couple weeks of calling online support they helped me find out the order was delivered the day I was notified. This is upsetting, but it revealed a huge flaw in this business that I hope the store manager will recognize and CHANGE. Make a better procedure, if the store manager is shy of the sun and only works nights (half true), then don't have him in charge of online orders! I went in to get some paint samples, and waited by the paint counter for 10 minutes - no one was there, and none of the other employees asked if I needed any help. I then went up to the main counter and asked if I could get some help. The guy said yes he'd find the paint guy. Another 10 minutes went by without being helped. I went back to the main counter and they told me there was one guy who mixed paint and the rest of them couldn't help me. I asked where that guy was (also turns out the missing guy is the store manager) and they said they couldn't find him. Eventually I was told that he was in the bathroom and I said okay should I wait and they recommended I go to another store. So I couldn't get paint because he was taking a 20+ minute bathroom break... read more
