The food was pretty good with an average sized portion. I enjoyed my egg scramble and smoothie. The ingredients seemed fresh as well! The most offputting thing was that there is a very strong weird smell (possibly mulch?) that was a bit unappetizing. Food took a little while to be ready.

A bit on the pricier side, but worth it for fresh and delicious food! Serving sizes were plenty and well worth it for the perfect healthy treat! I picked up an order to go and the staff was very helpful in providing recommendations. They were quick, kind, and considerate. There was lord of natural light and beautiful colors to make for a bright, warm atmosphere.

Happy and hale is a knock off.. but more expensive sweet green. The sizes are absolutely tiny and the employees refuse to fill the bowl with the proper amount of food. It's a copy cat sweet green down to the color of the bags and the business model. The only reason this place is in business is because they have no competition. The employee, Alex informed me that they are limiting the amount of food put in because of corporate standards... the standards need to be changed in order to justify those prices. See photo to see most of the bowl is air at the top. The only thing they give you normal amounts of is lettuce which I could buy a massive box of for under 7$. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Only reason they get 2 stars is because they really don't have any other competition.

Happy + Hale serves fast & clean salads and smoothies! They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options. Staff were also very friendly! We ordered: Hale Ceaser salad - Surprisingly very good! Loved the Buffalo flavored cauliflower and would get this again :) Bueno bowl - Roasted chicken with brown rice, beans, cheese, vinaigrette Would come back again to try the other bowls and smoothies.

Custom Salad is the way to go - I love places like this that let you customize what you get. Having variety of flavors and textures is what makes a great salad for me and they have a wide variety. Some may say, "but its just a salad". Take a look at the pic - reasonable price and huge portion

If you are a picky Eater get the protein bowl, a really healthy restaurant. But do have to pay 50 cents for water

Stopped by for lunch today. I 'built my own salad' w/ kale, spinach and ahi tuna as the protein. The ingredients taste fresh the salad is scrumptious! Would definitely recommend as a reasonably priced healthy lunch option.

Avocado toast with egg (radish, red pepper flakes, sprouts)

Great option for quick healthy food in the triangle!! Best Avocado Toast I have had outside of my own home (the bread is crunchy and the ingredients are flavorful). The downside is that happy+hale can be a little more expensive than some other fast casual options. The Buffalo Cauliflower is a little spicy for me, but I don't have a great spice tolerance.

Thai chicken crunch (soy and nuts)

Happy and Hale literally makes me happy. Such a great go-to spot for some unique combination bowls. I got the Med Bowl (D for dairy). The spicy harissa, a Tunisian hot chili pepper paste, mixed with the herb yogurt dressing, really gives an explosive mixture of flavors intermingled with the other veggies in this bowl. At 565 calories [without the dressing], I'm surprised at how filled up my belly was when it seemed so little to me. Much loved. The other was the Thai chicken crunch (S for soy) (N for nuts) had a really nice crunch to each bite, but I didn't think the sesame vinaigrette really complimented it that well. The pickled carrots gave it a good zing while the cashews made the Thai style bowl worthy.

    Coco curry bowl
    Sevana W.

The coco curry bowl I just devoured was the best meal I've had all week by a long shot. I'd tried a green smoothie from Happy + Hale before (good, but nothing to write home about) but it's clear to me now that the bowls are this place's specialty. The perfect balance of greens and grains, my meal was flavorful, nourishing and exactly what I was craving. I'll be back soon when I need a break from the dining hall!!

    It was nice to eat!

My favorite go-to salad place. I like to build my own. I also like the avocado toast. Super quick if you order online.

Will & Well is a great addition to Boxyard if you're looking for a fresh salad, grain bowl, or…read moresmoothie option. The setup is counter service, with a handful of premade salads and bowls on the menu, or you can build your own. The build-your-own option starts at $12.99 and includes your base, five toppings, one crunchy/dry topping, and dressing. Proteins are extra and range from about $4.25-$6.50, with options including tofu, shrimp, chicken, steak, and tuna. I opted for a build-your-own bowl with chicken, which came out to just under $20 before tip. At first, that felt a little pricey to me, but the portion size was absolutely massive. Honestly, it was large enough to easily make two meals, which made the value feel much better. The woman helping me was incredibly friendly and even let me sample three different dressings before deciding. I also appreciated that you can get your dressing on the side if you prefer. All 3 I tried were good, but all very different, and I'm glad I had a chance to try them! One thing to note is that it was fairly warm inside the business, which gave me a little pause considering it's a salad-focused concept. That said, everything tasted fresh and high quality. There were only two employees working during my visit on a Wednesday around 6:30, and with about 4-5 people ahead of me, it took around 20 minutes to place my order, get my bowl made, and check out. The staff was working hard, and being incredibly helpful, but if you're in a hurry, just plan accordingly. Overall, I'd definitely return. It's nice to have a quality salad option at Boxyard, the ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the service was helpful and kind. Just be prepared that there may be a bit of a wait and to spend around $20 if you're adding protein (but you can easily share or make two meals from it!!!) My picture doesn't do the size justice I promise!

They were in the process of training a new hire at the time, so the line took some time to move through, but I still got my food pretty quickly. I ordered the harvest crunch vegetable which had all of my favorites - the mushrooms were so flavorful and my favorite part. The only two critiques I had was that 1) I asked for half/half rice and romaine and my bowl had way too much romaine, it really overpowered all of the other ingredients that came in the bowl and 2) the tofu was not my favorite - it wasn't crispy or as flavorful as I would like it, so that's something for the plant-based community to keep in mind. That said, I imagine all of the other animal-based proteins taste better! If their tofu was improved, I would absolutely return to try some of their other unique bowl combos.

I found us a table inside since it was a bit hot that day (there is also plenty of seating outside AND inside if you go downstairs). The table and floor were messy but someone quickly came to clean it for me. They called our names over the loudspeaker and my best friend went to go get our food. She got the MotherClucker. Our food was REALLY good. If you like Cobb salad, you will definitely like this one. The chicken was pan seared perfectly, the vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and the bleu cheese was especially excellent. My friend's chicken sandwich has SO MUCH chicken salad on it. Impressive. There was so many neat items to see in the place. The murals were great, there were some cute retail spaces, a coffee bar up front, a bar downstairs, and ice cream outside! We arrived around 5:45pm, and there was ample parking, but I will say the place was HOPPING by the time we left at 6:30pm. The decor is very cute-- old-style, good seating and a bar area as well. You order at the table, and food comes to you. My dining mate got the Cypriot (Halloumi, Fig, Arugula, Tomato, Pesto) with a side of curly fries, and I wasn't very hungry so I got the Beyond Meat Chicken Tenders kids meal with a side salad. I also got a delicious bottled sparkling lemonade. Service was fine-- food comes after order, but you're mostly on your own once food is delivered, as expected. We got a couple of napkins with the food, but there are more self-serve up in the counter. Just don't expect someone to check on you or anything. The food was GREAT. My dining partner loved her sandwich (commented especially on the fig spread) and fries, and I really liked my meal as well. The side salad was surprisingly delicious, especially the addition of pickled red onion. The place was clean-- I went to the restroom, too, and everything was stocked well. Price was very fair.
