Super cute and cool place. Really interesting food. The egg waffle with ube frozen custard was dynamite.

"Sandwich shop just off University Dr in Durham"…read more Came here for an evening dinner with a friend. We arrived around 5:45pm, and there was ample parking, but I will say the place was HOPPING by the time we left at 6:30pm. The decor is very cute-- old-style, good seating and a bar area as well. You order at the table, and food comes to you. My dining mate got the Cypriot (Halloumi, Fig, Arugula, Tomato, Pesto) with a side of curly fries, and I wasn't very hungry so I got the Beyond Meat Chicken Tenders kids meal with a side salad. I also got a delicious bottled sparkling lemonade. Service was fine-- food comes after order, but you're mostly on your own once food is delivered, as expected. We got a couple of napkins with the food, but there are more self-serve up in the counter. Just don't expect someone to check on you or anything. The food was GREAT. My dining partner loved her sandwich (commented especially on the fig spread) and fries, and I really liked my meal as well. The side salad was surprisingly delicious, especially the addition of pickled red onion. The place was clean-- I went to the restroom, too, and everything was stocked well. Price was very fair. Overall, I'd happily come back. Easy, priced well, delicious. Not a place where you get a lot of "attention", but great for a simple meal.

Second time here…read more Great sandwich options and large portions! Options for vegan diets that's still keeps essence of original sandwich which I appreciated (impossible chicken tenders for cutlets). Great space! Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. I discovered the garden this time around and enjoyed sitting out there for my meal. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it was not very busy. Ordered the mozzarella sticks and the chicken cutlet sandwich (regular). The sticks were amazing with the sauce! The SS which bread was so fresh and soft as was the chicken cutlet. I wish it had more sauce and a little salt pepper vinegar splash would have gone a long way. A good sandwich but the most amazing or most flavorful sandwich I've ever had. Can't stress how fresh everything tasted though and it was huge only ate half.

Rating based on: consistency, cleanliness, quality, taste, and presentation…read more This place SLAPS so hard you think you're Chris Rock at the Oscars. I came here expecting greatness because the reviews were already talking crazy, and honestly, they were right. This is not some fancy five-star, velvet-rope, tuxedo situation. It is clean, modern, contemporary, and the staff was attentive. Service was impeccable. But sugar, honey, iced tea ...this review is about the food. I got the half cheesesteak so I could leave room for the Parmesan French fries, and that was the move. Now about the star of the show: this cheesesteak is so good it might split your wig back. Tender. Juicy. Scrumptious. 100% beef chopped up with grilled onions and charred green peppers, plus I opted for the cheddar cheese. Every bite was filling, rich, and straight-up delicious. The bread held up, the cheese did its job, and the whole thing tasted like somebody inside that kitchen actually is a foodie.. Then come those Parmesan deep-fried French fries ....immaculate. Crispy, salty not too salty, cheesy, and gone way too fast. The menu choices were solid too, especially the roasted garlic duck fat mayo. That alone lets you know they are not f**ing around. If you are in Durham and looking for a cheesesteak spot, hit this place up ASAP like Rocky.

We wanted to try for lunch, but that's not possible, and then we wanted to try on a Monday, but that didn't work out either. Anyway, we finally placed an online pickup order for a Saturday dinner. We tried a surf and turf (steak and shrimp) with cheese and onions- we paid extra for peppers but they left those off. We also tried a chicken, bacon and cheddar, which I liked better. We also got an order of lemon pepper fries. The restaurant was clean and fresh when we went in to pick up our food. I liked the retro vibes of the tables. The food was hot and tasty, but I wish they were open for lunch because I like to eat a little healthier at dinner.

Ordering was super easy using a QR code outside. Our order came out within minutes. We grabbed a picnic table and enjoyed our delicious sandwiches. Hubby and I both ordered the Italian Sub. He chose the sweet & spicy peppers and I went with banana peppers. I really enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was amazing! Crusty on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The banana peppers were a wonderful addition. The oil & vinegar along with the mayo added so much flavor. The lettuce was very fresh. Excellent meat and cheese to bread ratio. I was pleasantly surprised by how a simple sandwich could be so delicious!

I ordered the Italian sandwich online and it was ready for me before the 10 minute estimated time. I walked from there to my destination, a couple of blocks away and opened my order. The bread was so hard and dry that it literally crumbled into dust (I'm not exaggerating I wish I was) so I walked back to the restaurant and politely showed them. They were very polite and remade the sandwich. The bread was better but still a little dry so I tried to eat it but quickly found that they had put the hot peppers on the sandwich instead of the banana peppers I had ordered so I couldn't eat it, I can't tolerate very spicy food due to stomach issues. Oh well. It's disappointing because Neil's used to be really exceptional but I don't have money to throw away on food I can't eat. It was supposed to be a treat but I had to throw it away.

You don't get such an amazing ratatouille here. You can only get me to cook it for you if you're my niece or nephew :-)
