I have to start off by giving a shout out to Jeremy one of the employees working during my first visit today. I had a hard time finding exactly where they were in midtown North Hills and so about after 5 min of driving around and 5 min of then walking after the GPS said I had arrived (but had not) I called to ask where they were. The phone was breaking up some but he heard me enough to hear I was close to Chuys and that he could see me. I ended up having to hang up because of a bad connection.. still not knowing where they were. Next thing I know he had found me outside and walked me to the restaurant which is located on the back side of the building across from the Coastal Credit Union field. He also asked me during the walk what my food interest were as far as vegan etc. and made suggestions. I was overwhelmed by the customer service and his kindness at this point almost to the point of a few tears considering my previous frustration that I was on my lunch break with limited time etc. I got the Thai Chicken Crunch salad - delicious! I was told this is one of their most popular menu choices. It's packed with fresh flavors and the chicken was tender. I also got the beet root latte because it sounded intriguing and looked fun. This was the only let down of my visit. It was nice and frothy as a latte should be but the only flavor profile I got was warm milk... I didn't taste anything else. It still had part of the skin on and I kept having to spit it out as it was impossible to chew. Also, whatever sauce they use tasted gross. Plus the size of the bowl was much smaller than what I can get for less money at other poke places (and at other poke places it would have actually tasted good). The food was delicious and so fresh. This location is right in the middle of the North Hills shopping area - close to Harris Teeter and the AC hotel. Parking is available right beside the restaurant. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and food is quickly prepared if you're on the go. I'd highly suggest the chimichurri bowl if you want something filling. Very strategically located in the up and coming side of North Hills, this place has something to offer for everyone. Very diverse menu covering all dietary restrictions that is clearly indicated. My most favorite part of this location is that the owners/builders have conserved a tree from being cut that stands tall and beautifully when you enter the space. Yay team Happy+Hale! The space is open, welcoming, and warm. Love the quirk and addition of Polaroid photographs of people who work there. Good amount of space booth indoors and outdoors. The menu had a lot to offer. My husband and I ordered a couple of veggie bowls and flavored lemonades and wiped them clean. I got the incredibowl, dragon fruit lemonade (deagonade) and he went for a diy bowl with falafel and cucumber lemonade. Great portion sizes for the price and very refreshing drinks. I NEVER take the time to leave reviews on restaurants, this time I felt the need to. I ordered take out from them and when I got home I discovered I was missing a component of my bowl. So I called them with the intention of simply letting them know my issue. I was greeted by the store manager at the time and he promptly let me know the store was training several new employees and offered to cover the cost of my bowl on him! Lots of options to choose from especially if you have different dietary needs. They have a bowl bar so you can customize your bowl just how you like. I had the avocado toast and dragon fruit lemonade. The bread was delicious, it had a good crust and some salt along the edges. The avocado was bland and lacked any flavor. It was a bit harsh considering it's most of the meal. There was watermelon radishes on top that looked like they had been sitting out for a while. But the assorted greens added a beautiful color contrast to the presentation. Sriracha helped the avocado but I probably wouldn't get it again. Setting is cool and simple. Not a big deal. We assumed that whoever did a drink didn't have a skill in latte art. I started to drink my latte to find out that it was made with whole milk when my request was almond. Luckily, they just mixed them and my friend had mine. Again, not a big deal. Then we were like, "cold latte in a mug?" Both of us paid for a hot. I took it back and the server was very nice in replacing it and adding a nice flower design. Oh, so someone CAN actually do it but decided not to. Why? Anyways, They bring my hot latte and it's with a whole milk again! Aahhhhh, seriously? Someone might not care but I do. When you have lactose intolerance it's a big deal. We switched again:) The only reason I give 2 stars- the server replaced my friend's drink even though she asked her not to worry ab it. She is a sweet lady obviously. My friend's quinoa bowl came with avocado and there is another story of them not knowing about it and charging extra for adding it. It turned out ok but HELLO?! Who is taking care of this place? Anyone? Where is the owner? The guy passed by to ask of our experience when I told him of all the mistakes and my determination to write a review and he just didn't care. Come on!!! The spicy flavor was honestly overbearing. I felt like I didn't really get a good taste of the rest of the bowl because my tongue was on fire. I would not order this dish again but I would go back for a build your own bowl or smoothie. First of all, the bowl itself was DELISH! Super fresh and tons of tuna. Really great lunch bowl! The second thing? Remember I said I called because they were running late? My lunch did arrive while I was on the phone with them. I said thanks and proceeded to eat. Later that afternoon I got an email from them refunding my bill. I never asked them to do that. Having been a die-hard fan of Sweetgreen when I lived in Philly and San Francisco, I had pretty high expectations for Happy + Hale. Compared to Sweetgreen, Happy + Hale's menu is set at a similar price range. You can either choose a pre-made salad bowl option or customize your own. What's unique about Happy + Hale is that the restaurant also offers smoothies and breakfast options. Ultimately, I ordered the chimichurri steak bowl, but instead of the mushroom and onion mix, I requested butternut squash. Surprisingly, the salad counter worker was extremely generous with the portions - so generous, in fact, that I had plenty of leftovers for a second meal. The food itself looked simple, yet tasted really flavorful. It left me feeling completely satisfied. My friend also liked her food as well. We decided to try out the new Happy + Hale at North Hills after seeing that they had Matcha waffles. I always get excited to try new and interesting flavor combinations so I had high hopes. But to be honest, my waffle was a little disappointing. First off, it was $12 which is pretty expensive for a waffle, but I was still set on giving it a try. I ordered my waffle at the counter and they gave me a number saying that they would bring it out to my table. Once it got to my table, I was excited to dig in. The matcha flavor wasn't super strong and I doubt I would have noticed it if I didn't already know it was supposed to be matcha. But I did love the fresh fruit that was on top. Also, my waffle was sort of room temperature and got cold super quick. I typically like my waffles hot off the griddle and a little toasty on the outside, so it just wasn't worth the $12 to me.
