Simple, fast, good, efficient. Ordered online while checking out at the grocery store. Went to Happy Lemon 3 minutes later and my drink was ready. Maybe it was slow day for them, but they made those drinks quick. They're a little pricey for what it is, but what can you say? Inflation eh? Overall, this place is good if you're a ube/taro kinda person from my perspective. I thought the drink was delicious. Definitely a place to hit up every 2 weeks when you decide to grocery shop at the next door business. read more

This review is less on service and drink, but more on pricing. The drink is on par with what you'd expect for a simple green tea with salted cheese foam on top. The drink maker did ask if I wanted some matcha powder on top which was a nice gesture I can't speak to the other Happy Lemon stores or if this is a general pricing issue but maybe I'm too used to many other more complex drinks at other solid boba chains to be at the same price but for premade green tea and cheese foam to be $6.75 seems a bit high. Granted I don't get boba often nowadays but maybe it's for the better if the prices are that high for what is a fairly straight forward drink Looking at the other drinks and those being in the same ballpark of $7 I would opt for a more complex/unique drink (mango/sago/matcha/etc) All to say, nothing wrong with the service, and I did come after work hours so didn't experience much of a wait but have seen this place with a relatively long wait on the weekends so YMMV My biggest gripe is what seems like a high price for a simple drink. I also will admit, I opted to get this drink hoping to see if the quality of the tea warranted the price but I would suggest a few of the options by Berkeley campus if you're looking for a place where the tea's subtle notes really shine with an equal price point. The one benefit to this place is the proximity to the Asian market and various food options read more

I love this location is closer to me than Berkeley. I no longer have to make special trips to get a treat. My daughter and I stop in after school before our park trips or following gymnastics. It's also convenient to grab a drink for myself (and friends) before heading to a movie or work. Inside Ranch 99 makes it easy to find. Depending on the time and day you go, parking can suck. It's inside a large lot but with all the other great stores it can be difficult. It's located off the Central exit. read more

Finally, a Happy Lemon has come to El Cerrito! One more bubble tea place to add to the list, although hopefully they don't put Le Dessert Lab out of business. The drinks are good, typical Happy Lemon fare, if you haven't tried their signature cheese foam before check it out. I usually get the grapefruit green tea which is particularly good at Happy Lemon because they actually do include bits of real grapefruit, and my husband just gets regular milk tea. Rating this particular Happy Lemon as just OK however as we have had varying quality boba when we come here. There have been a few times when the boba was soft and soggy, but other times it's nice and firm. I think it just depends on who's working the counter. The wait is also always VERY long, much longer than the Berkeley store, especially on weekends! The line is only short if you can get here in the middle of the day on a weekday. tl;dr While I do feel like the Berkeley location tends to be more consistent and quicker, I will be returning to this Happy Lemon as it's just so much closer to home! If you are stopping by on a weekend and wish to avoid a long wait, I suggest either ordering online or calling to order ahead of time. read more

My husband enjoyed his drink! Very strong blend of Vietnamese coffee with cream puff. Yummy!! This novelty drink is priced fairly. Superb customer services too! Warm and friendly greeting from the moment we walked in and until we left. I highly recommend to give them a try if you are in the area. Time after time we go to happy lemon there's always a long line and wait, but they are always very polite as servers when we order directly in person as opposed to the digital kiosk. I drinks are always made the exact same way and I know that the drink makers are always different. I am always watching everybody. On this particular day, we had six different drinks for the whole family since that was our dessert after our dim sum lunch and everybody enjoyed their drink although it took us about 15 minutes to get, the service was pretty fast, considering the people in front of us also had a number of drinks as well. This place was BUSY on a Sunday afternoon. Located at the entrance of Ranch 99 makes the wait a little long, but they have a big team of baristas getting those drinks out. I got the Wintermelon Fresh Milk, which was the perfect sweetness for me. The milk to melon flavor was great and overall a refreshing drink. I'd order it again :) read more

I walked into the mall where Happy Lemon is located and saw the sign for the frozen wintermelon lemonade drink has an advertisement for $5.25 the S4. I go into the store and order it and it came to $6.50. I informed them about the sign that's outside of their store. The employee who rung the order up goes outside to look at the sign and says oh "that's old". I said well I want the price that you have it advertised for. He asks someone else that was working in there and they said no cause the sign was old. They wouldn't honor the advertised price so I left. When I walked out of the mall they had removed the sign. They didn't handle this correctly. I know I don't look like their typical customer but I felt they wouldn't honor what they clearly had advertised because of it. I will never go into a Happy Lemon store again and will tell my friends about my experience as well. read more

Went to satisfy a boba craving. The service is efficient and friendly. The store is clean and friendly. I like the color. The menu is not so large as to get lost but large enough you are sure to find something yummy. After choosing a drink you can choose your sugar and ice levels. I love being able to do this! My cousin was in the boba mood, so we settled on Happy Lemon due to its proximity to us. It's a decent spot for drinks but not a place I'd actively seek. No matter the time or day, I've seen crowds gather at this location. Be mindful of that because service is quite slow. It took a while for the staff to make and serve our drinks. The inside is bright with bar stools and lemony logo decor, you can sip inside or take it to-go. Happy Lemon lives by its namesake and sells various lemon drinks as well as other fruit teas, milk teas, and more. You can adjust the ice and sweetness level. I had the Fresh Passion Fruit Mango Green Tea with Boba. Even though I got it with less ice and sweetness, the drink was still extremely sweet. My cousin had the Strawberry Green Tea and said it was okay but enjoyed mine more. For those looking for tea to sip while walking around Pacific East Mall, Happy Lemon is a good option. This was my first time here. I was down here going to 99 Ranch and decided I'd like something to drink. I tried the mango passionfruit green tea. You are given the choice of how much or little sweetener and ice to put in and I usually like it less sweet with less ice so that I can get more of the drink. I like the fact that they use fresh fruit in many of their drinks. This drink was very good, very refreshing and I would order it again. This is the 2,613th location world-wide for Happy Lemon! To celebrate, they're offering a BOGO promotion through Sunday. Located inside the Pacific East Mall across from the H.K. Cafe. They were very well staffed. So things went okay given the LONG line. I mean it still took about 20 minutes after I placed my order. I got my standard Lemon Green Tea. Tasted fine. Pretty much like I've had everywhere else. Consistency is a good thing for a chain. TIP: Remove ALL valuables from your car. Or anything you won't cry over if you return and it's gone. New bright and lemony looking spot in the pacific east mall. Got an original boba with salted cheese. Didn't get much salt flavor but the boba had good flavor and chewiness. The tea flavor was a bit overpowered but the creaminess so if you like cream this is good. We got 50% sweet and it was plenty sweet. We forgot to tilt if 45 deg (we are noobs apparently) so perhaps that would have affected the experience. Due to the richness of the drink (and the oldness of our arteries) a medium was definitely enough! Also got the egg waffles- original with salted cheese dipping sauce. Slightly burnt at the top (uneven toaster??) but warm! The salted cheese is interested but the waffle definitely tastes better with it. Otherwise it's not very eggy and kinda dry. We did end up waiting about 5-7 min per order (the overhead screen shows how long you've waited- pros and cons) but the workers seemed attentive, very polite and the canto pop makes it cheery. read more

Yum, yum, yum! First, all the pluses... you can customize the level of sweetness and ice, and most drinks offer two sizes. We ordered the jasmine green tea with salted cheese, blended fresh lemon green tea (it's not actually blended), and the boba milk tea with puff cream. All the drinks were good and the salted cheese was definitely a unique topping. It tasted exactly how it sounds, like salted cheese foam, but when it mixed in with the drink provided a layer of complexity as the sweet and salty combined. The texture of the boba was perfect, just firm enough to provide a chewiness to the boba. The location kind of sucks as it's located inside a small indoor shopping center but we'll def be back! read more

Happy Lemon's milk tea is my personal favorite out of the main chains. 50% sweetness is perfect in my opinion and the texture of the boba is great. This location is always super busy and the workers are nice despite having so many orders between just a few people. I'm sure on busy days, even small orders take a long time to get out. I got the wrong drink and they made me a new one without any issue, which I appreciate. I like this location but would probably hold off when it's crowded. read more

The service here was quick, just walkup and place order with a pretty calm atmosphere with the workers being friendly as well. We decided to try the strawberry shortcake and it was very delicious just like it looked. It had a strong taste of like a strawberry milkshake with a rich strawberry taste along with the cream. The classic bubble waffle alone, deserves the 5 star rating. I had the basic milk tea with boba, and it was good, but underwhelming. I usually have Thai iced tea, so maybe that's why the milk tea was not very flavorful. The plain, classic bubble waffle was out of this world! It was hot and crispy, with a soft, doughy inside. It reminded us of fresh made waffle cones that some ice cream stores make, or funnel cakes you get at fairs. They're a decent size too! My grown grandson and I had more than enough, sharing one. I opted to get the mango matcha with boba, one of their popular blended drinks. Super sweet and refreshing. I also like their salt cheese on top of the drinks too. One of the newest additions to Pacific East Mall, Happy Lemon is strategically located near the main entrance, and attracts a good volume of patrons throughout the day. Despite intentionally stopping by when there appeared to be a slight lull in business, the wait time for my drink was till a solid 15mins due to all of the online app orders they appeared to be fulfilling. Ordered the fresh passionfruit and mango green tea with boba. While I really enjoyed the quality and texture of their boba, and the passionfruit appeared to be fresh, the mango and overall tea flavor was extremely muted. In fact, there was an underlying lemon flavor to their tea that tended to overwhelm most of the flavors. They apparently also have an app to collect rewards, so that's something to take advantage of if you plan to be a repeat customer. read more

Stopped by because I was passing by the area and I really wanted a strawberry smoothie. Saw this store newly opened at Pacific East Mall (located right at the entrance) and saw they had a strawberry milkshake! It's not my first time having Happy Lemon, but my first time at this location and trying this drink. It really satisfied my cravings! It's got real strawberries in it, but they weren't fresh berries, more like frozen/preserved. As you can see there's kind of a jam consistency to the drink at the bottom. I forgot to ask for sugar/ice adjustments so everything came at 100%, which was pretty sweet (I'd prefer 75% sweet next time, but what I got wasn't overly sugary). If you've been to this mall you'd know there is a huge parking lot out front and a few Tesla chargers as well. I'd say Happy Lemon is a dependably tasty boba chain! read more

I am so excited that a closer Happy Lemon opened near my house! I honestly only get 1 thing from there and it's the salted cheese milk tea so I don't know what the other drinks are like but now that it's a lot closer, I can try more drinks out! Wait times are pretty long in terms of getting your drink. I wish they had an online ordering system so that I don't have to wait so long. I waited about 30 minutes for my drink which is why I'm giving it a 4 star. Asides from that, you can sit inside and the vibes are chill but busy. read more

Consistently good drinks here! The line is almost always long, though, so it helps to order ahead if you can. The longest I've waited during peak hours is 30 minutes. Sometimes it's good to place an order and then go shopping while you wait! I love that they really take the "25% sweet" to heart (so much so that I've had to up to 50% at times lol). read more

There's a bathroom just around the corner from the ordering kiosk, but while I was making my way over there, the kind staff let me know that they are actually sold out of lox. They offered me a refund or to change what I ordered. I decided to switch to the Asiago Bagel with Ham, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese since it was the same price as the Lox! My coffee came out first, and the person who gave me my coffee also filled up my cup with ice when I asked! The coffee itself had a nice deep & bitter flavor which I look for in a house coffee. The sandwich was STUFFED full. I've never had a bagel breakfast sandwhich where I've quite had to unhinge my jaw like this. My photos did not do the sandwich justice, but I promise it's so much bigger than you'd expect! The eggs were perfectly fluffy and smothered in cheese. The ham and bacon were cooked to my personal liking. If you like crispy bacon, maybe mention that to them, because it was perfectly chewy for me. The bagel, was soft, fluffy, yet so bouncy, and I LOVE that there are poppy seeds mixed into their Asiago bagel. The cost to quantity ratio for the breakfast sandwich was 100% worth it. I'll definitely be back when I need a hearty sandwich.
