Came here on a Thursday afternoon and luckily found a spot right across the street immediately. Parking in this area is not the easiest, but there is metered parking. Inside, the space has very high ceilings and feels super open and airy. It's modern and clean, but there's limited seating. They only have two tables with two high seats at each. I ordered A1 Green Tea with Salted Cheese and Boba. This is my go to and one of the reasons Happy Lemon stays in my top boba spots. The tea quality always stands out and tastes fresh and strong. The boba was good as well. I adjusted my drink to 50% sweetness and 50% ice and it was perfect for my sweet tooth. They only offered it in a large, which I thought was interesting since I remember it being available in a small before. One thing I've noticed is that the sweetness level can sometimes be a little inconsistent across different Happy Lemon locations. I always order the same A1, so I can tell when it tastes slightly different from store to store. I also tried the tiramisu bubble waffle. The tiramisu flavor was not really there for me. Compared to the original waffle, which has more of a classic vanilla taste, this one did not stand out flavor wise. Texture wise though, it was really good. The thin edges were crispy and the puffs were soft and chewy inside, exactly how I like it. The waffle took about 10-15 minutes to make even though it was not busy. I was not in a rush, but a quick heads up would have been nice if someone was in a hurry. Overall, still a solid spot for A1 with salted cheese and a reliable tea fix. read more

What happened? I use to love getting my bubble waffles from here. Maybe it was the flavor I got. I usually get the original or matcha flavor. On my recent trip I ordered the tiramisu with red bean. It tasted more chocolate and even that it was light. No coffee flavor at all. The red bean filling was not much and more importantly the waffle was not crispy as I remembered. I came after the lunch rush so there was only maybe 2 other customers in there. I ordered their #1 best seller which is the Black Tea w/Salted Cheese (ordered w/less ice, 30% sweet, and boba) - they only had one size. They sprinkled some matcha on top which was a nice touch. I don't like matcha tooo much but it brought nice taste to the first couple sips. The crema was suppppeer good. I've been to this Happy Lemon location around 4 times! Personally, I prefer this location because their flavors tastes better than the other stores. The customer service is pretty nice! I had a nice worker help me with my order and recommended me which waffle to get! The look of the place is fine, just a bit outdated decor and not a lot of seating. However, it's designed for mostly take out, or quick chit chat seating before the order's ready. Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie: I got this standard sweet and personally I'd prefer it 50-75% sweet next time. It comes with puff cream which contains dairy so there is no alternative for this drink I believe. I wish they had this in a tea or not blended drink because I'm sensitive to ice but the taste was pretty good! But today trying out B3 lemon honey green tea and they also served hot drinks!! My friend got hot drink cause of the weather has been so cold! I came here twice and had mixed feelings. The first time I got a strawberry green tea, and there was an almost alcohol-like taste in it. Not sure if there was just too much syrup added to the drink or something. The second time I got a yakult green tea and it tasted really good. The boba texture both times was perfectly chewy. Yayeeee, this is basically the only boba spot that I can walk to during COVID! Now that we are stuck at home and muni/buses seem less appealing, having boba close to mission bay is critical for my mental health and well-being! My home is equidistant to this location and the one in Daly City, so it's not much of an improvement. However, this is one of my favorite boba chains! TBH have not tried the lemonade at Happy Lemon- the only thing I ever get is the Green Tea with Salted Cheese, and it never lets me down. The salted cheese is always light and pairs so well with the tea. I recommend getting 75% sweetness with less ice. I love the lid they give as I don't need to get a straw, and it comes with a stopper to cover the mouth part. I went on a moderately busy day and got my drink quickly. The interior of the store is pretty spacious, but it's not very organized inside of where to wait while you order, where to pick up drinks for mobile orders, etc. So there was a large group of people waiting for their drink right at the front door- maybe add some signage or tape on the floor to streamline this. There's also not a lot of parking nearby. It's close to spark social SF, so you can grab food from the food trucks if you're in the area. read more

I love this Happy Lemon. The location is great with lots of foot traffic, plenty of street parking available around each block in the surrounding area. The owner is really nice and pretty, she handles everything so well Uber pressure as I've seen some of the ugly times when they were understaffed, somehow she's still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time!!
